Abstract

Airborne concentrations of diazinon were measured in rooms for 21 days after crack and crevice application. Residue levels were largest in treated rooms (38 μg/m3 ) after application, followed by adjacent (1 μg/m3 ) and upper and lower rooms (ca. 0.4 μg/m ). Low levels of diazinon were detected in all rooms 21 days after application. Small amounts of diazinon (corrected to an 8 min application period) were detected on respirator pads ( 2.6 μg) and waist pads (2.3 μg) worn by the applicator.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to determine the persistence of phosalone (S-6-chloro-2,3-dihydro-2-oxobenzoxazol-3-ylmethyl O, O-diethyl phosphorodithioate) and diazinon (O,O-diethyl O-2-isopropyl-6-methylpyrimidin-4-yl phosphorothioate) residues in fresh and baled alfalfa under field conditions. Plots of alfalfa were sprayed with each insecticide. Fresh alfalfa was sampled up to 20 days after treatment, and dried alfalfa was sampled up to 25 weeks after baling. Samples were analyzed for residues using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) equipped with a UV detector. The half-lives of diazinon and phosalone in fresh alfalfa were 1.8 and 3.3 days, respectively. In baled alfalfa the half-life of diazinon and phosalone were 2.8 and 16.7 weeks, respectively. No diazinon residues were detected in baled alfalfa, sampled after week 9, although the concentration of phosalone found at week 25 was 5.51 mg/kg.  相似文献

Abstract

Methods have been developed to monitor the translocation of microencapsulated cyfluthrin following perimeter applications to residential dwellings. A pilot study was implemented to determine both the potential for application spray to drift away from dwellings and the intrusion of residues into homes following perimeter treatments. Residential monitoring included measuring spray drift using cellulose filter paper and the collection of soil samples from within the spray zone. In addition, interior air was monitored using fiberglass filter paper as a sorbent medium and cotton ball swabs were used to collect surface wipes.

Fortification of matrixes resulted in recoveries of >90%. Spray drift was highest at the point of application and declined to low but measurable levels 9.1m from the foundations of dwellings. Soil residues declined to low, but measurable levels by 45 days post‐application. No cyfluthrin was measured from indoor air; however, some interior surfaces had detectable levels of cyfluthrin until three days post‐application.

Findings indicate that spray drift resulting from perimeter applications might contaminate non‐target surfaces outside the spray zone. Soil borne residues may serve as persistent sources for human exposure and potentially intrude into dwellings through the activities of occupants and pets. Residues do not appreciably translocate through air and consequently inhalation is not a likely route for human exposure. Surface residues detected indoors suggest that the physical movement of residues from the exterior to the interior might be a viable route of movement of residues following this type of application.  相似文献

Abstract

Four test groups of small songbirds (Zebra Finch, Poephila guttata) were sprayed in a chamber with varying concentrations of fenitrothion. Exposure levels were assessed by monitoring air concentrations, deposits of the active ingredient (AI) on glass plates and droplets/cm2 on Kromekote® cards. All indices of exposure were linearly correlated and the mean AI deposit on glass plates for the four groups tested were equivalent to 38, 51, 139 and 255 g/ha or 14%, 18%, 50% and 91% of the highest permissible emitted rate for broadscale forest spraying in Canada. Significant depression in body weights and brain acetylcholinesterase levels were noted only for the highest exposure group. Fenitrothion residues in blood were detectable only at the highest exposure level, and in liver at the two higher levels. Carcass and feather residues were much higher than those in blood and liver, and were detectable at all exposure levels but the residues did not increase linearly with exposure. For one of the spray groups, we were able to compute an equivalent acute oral dose based on matching acetylcholinesterase inhibition.  相似文献

Impacts of diazinon (O,O-diethyl O-2-isopropyl-6-methylpyrimidin-4-yl phosphorothioate), imidacloprid [1-(6-chloro-3-pyridylmethyl)-N-nitroimidazolidin-2-ylideneamine] and lindane (1,2,3,4,5.6-hexachlorocyclohexane) treatments on ammonium, nitrate, and nitrite nitrogen and nitrate reductase enzyme activities were determined in groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) field for three consecutive years (1997 to 1999). Diazinon was applied for both seed- and soil-treatments but imidacloprid and lindane were used for seed treatments only at recommended rates. Diazinon residues persisted for 60 days in both the cases. Average half-lives (t1/2) of diazinon were found 29.3 and 34.8 days respectively in seed and soil treatments. In diazinon seed treatment, NH4 +, NO3 ?, and NO2 ? nitrogen and nitrate reductase activity were not affected. Whereas, diazinon soil treatment indicated significant increase in NH4 +-N in a 1-day sample, which continued until 90 days. Some declines in NO3 ?N were found from 15 to 60 days. Along with this decline, significant increases in NO2 ?N and nitrate reductase activity were found between 1 and 30 days. Imidacloprid and lindane persisted for 90 and 120 days with average half-lives (t1/2) of 40.9 and 53.3 days, respectively. Within 90 days, imidacloprid residues lost by 73.17% to 82.49% while such losses for lindane residues were found 78.19% to 79.86 % within 120 days. In imidacloprid seed-treated field, stimulation of NO3 ?N and the decline in NH4 +NO2 ?-N and nitrate reductase enzyme activity were observed between 15 to 90 days. However, lindane seed treatment indicated significant increases in NH4 +-N, NO2 ?-N and nitrate reductase activity and some adverse effects on NO3 ?N between 15 and 90 days.  相似文献

Impacts of diazinon, imidacloprid and lindane treatments on dehydrogenase and alkaline phosphomonoesterase enzyme activities were determined in groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) field for three consecutive years (1997-1999). Diazinon was applied as both seed and soil treatments but imidacloprid and lindane were used for seed treatments only at recommended rates. Experiments were conducted at Agricultural Research Station Durgapura, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Diazinon residues were persist up till 60 days in both the cases. Average half-lives (t(1/2)) of diazinon were found 29.3 and 34.8 days, respectively, for seed and soil treatments. Diazinon seed treatment had no significant effect on dehydrogenase and alkaline phosphomonoesterase enzymes activities. In diazinon soil treatment, there were a significant increase in dehydrogenase and decrease in alkaline phosphomonoesterase activities after 24 h of treatment, which continued till 30 days. In seed treatments, imidacloprid and lindane were present in soil up to 90 and 120 days with average half-lives (t(1/2)) of 40.9 and 53.3 days, respectively. Within 90 days, imidacloprid residues were declined up to 73.17% to 82.49% while decline in lindane residues ranged from 78.19% to 79.86% within 120 days. In imidacloprid seed treated field, both dehydrogenase and phosphomonoesterase activities were increased between 15 and 60 days after sowing. However, a significant decreases in both dehydrogenase and phosphomonoesterase enzyme activities were observed between 15 and 90 days after lindane seed treatment.  相似文献

Abstract

Chlorpyrifos‐methyl was applied twice at 70 g A.I./ha by means of a fixed‐wing aircraft to a mixed coniferous forest near Allardville, New Brunswick. Residue in balsam fir foliage was highest (1 ppm wet wt) 1 hr after spraying and rapidly declined to about 30% within 1 day, but persisted at a very low level (0.03 ppm wet wt) for 125 days. Current year's foliage contained a higher level of residue than old foliage. Chlorpyrifos‐methyl persisted longer in forest litter than in soil. After 125 days, trace amounts (< 6 ppb wet wt) were still found in litter but were not detected in soil. In stream water the residue dissipated very rapidly; more than 90% disappeared 3 hours after the second application and were not detected after 4 days. Low‐level residue (< 0.1 ppm wet wt) was present in the sediment and persisted for 10 days. Although brook trout and slimy sculpin captured in the stream within 3 days of the second application contained residues (< 0.05 ppm fresh wt) none were detected in any fish captured, 9 and 47 days later.  相似文献

Abstract

After chlorpyrifos was applied to the basal 1 meter of elm tree trunks for control of elm bark beetles at two different application times and sites, initial chlorpyrifos residues in forest floor litter ranged from 120 to 916 μg/g depending on the application time. Residues dissipated by approximately 99% after 791 d with the DT50 from 3.9 to 59 d and DT90 from 55 to 310 d. The initial residues of chlorpyrifos in elm forest soil varied from 0.8 to 28 μg/g and were 1 to 2 μg/g at 791 d after application. The dissipation half‐lives of chlorpyrifos in fortified soil placed in the field ranged from 116 to 121 d.  相似文献

The behaviour of diazinon in the soil determines the likelihood of further pollution incidents, particularly leaching to water. The most significant processes in the control of the fate of diazinon in the soil are microbial degradation and the formation of bound residues. Soils from four sites in the UK were amended with diazinon and its 14C labelled analogue and incubated for 100 days. After 0, 10, 21, 50 and 100 days, the formation of bound residues was assessed by solvent extraction, and the microbial degradation of diazinon by mineralisation assay. In microbially active soils, diazinon is degraded rapidly, reducing the risk of future pollution incidents. However, where there was limited mineralisation there was also significantly lower formation of bound residues, which may lead to water pollution via leaching. The formation of bound residues was dependent on extraction type. Acetonitrile extraction identified bound residues in all soils, with the bound residue fraction increasing with increasing incubation time.  相似文献

Abstract

The effects of low levels of diazinon treatment on four marker enzymes in rat heart and skeletal muscle have been investigated. Adult male Wistar rats were treated twice a week with a dose of 0.5 ml‐kg‐1day‐1 diazinon for 28 weeks. Diazinon treated rats gained significantly less weight than Sham‐treated controls. Typical differences in Succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), Phosphofructo kinase (PFK) and Hexokinase (HK) activities were observed between heart and skeletal muscles. Diazinon feeding had no effect on heart, soleus, gastrocnemius and plantaris SDH, LDH and PFK enzyme activities after 28 weeks. HK activity was significantly increased in sham‐control soieus and plantaris muscles after 28 weeks. Diazinon feeding inhibited HK activity in plantaris muscle after 28 weeks treatment These results demonstrate that chronic low levels of diazinon have little effect on the glycolytic and oxidative activity in heart and skeletal muscle.  相似文献

Abstract

The objective of this study was to obtain diurnal variation profiles of odor and gas (ammonia [NH3], hydrogen sulfide [H2S], carbon dioxide [CO2]) concentrations and emission rate (OGCER) from confined swine grower/finisher rooms under three typical weather conditions (warm, mild, and cold weather) in a year. Two grower/finisher rooms, one with a fully slatted floor and the other with partially slatted floors, were measured for 2 consecutive days under each weather condition. The results revealed that the diurnal OGCER in the room with a fully slatted floor was 9.2–39.4% higher than that with a partially slatted floor; however, no significant differences in the diurnal OGCER were found between these two rooms, except for the NH3 concentrations in August, the NH3 and H2S concentrations and emissions in October, and odor concentrations and emissions in February (p > 0.05). The OGCER variations presented different diurnal patterns as affected by time of day, season, type of floor, ventilation rate, animal growth cycles, in-house manure storage, and weather conditions. Significant diurnal fluctuations in the OGCER (except for the odor concentrations and H2S emissions) were observed in August (p < 0.05); all of the gas emissions in October and the CO2 concentrations and emissions in February also showed significant diurnal variations (p < 0.05). These significant diurnal variations indicated that the OGCER during different periods of a day should be monitored when quantifying OGCER concentrations and emissions; for example, source emission data used in air dispersion modeling to decrease the great incertitude of setback determination using randomly measured data.  相似文献

Abstract

Acute and chronic toxicity tests with diazinon (diethyl 2‐isopropyl‐6‐methyl‐4‐pyrimidinyl phosphorothionate) were conducted on Daphnia magna. The 24‐hr static LC50 was 0.86 μL.L‐1. The sublethal effects of 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0 ngL‐1 of diazinon concentrations on the survival, reproduction and growth of D. magna were monitored for 21 days. The algae Nannochloris oculata (5 x 105 cellsmL‐1) was used to feed the daphnids. The parameters used to determined the effect of the pesticide on D. magna were: mean total young per female; mean brood size; days to first brood; intrinsic rate of natural increase (r); growth; and survival. Reproduction as well as survival was significantly reduced at diazinon concentrations of 0.10 ngL‐1 and higher. The intrinsic rate of natural increase (r) decreased with increasing concentrations of diazinon. Growth, as measured by body length, was depressed significantly at 0.05 ngL‐1 of diazinon and higher concentrations. The maximum acceptable toxicant concentration (MATC) was calculated. The chronic data was used to formulate an acute/chronic ratio.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This study investigated spatio-temporal variations of selected pesticide residues in the Kurose River in Higashi-Hiroshima city (Hiroshima Prefecture), Japan. Water samples were collected from the river at seven sites every month for 1 year (March 2016 to February 2017). Pesticide residues were extracted from the samples by a solid phase extraction using Sep Pack C18 cartridges. Once extracted, the samples were analyzed for cyanazine, simetryn, fenarimol, isoprothiolane, and diazinon using a reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography ultraviolet visible (HPLC-UV Vis) system. The limits of detection were 3.60, 4.10, 2.80, 6.50, and 7.30 ng L-1 for cyanazine, simetryn, fenarimol, isoprothiolane, and diazinon, respectively. Good recovery rates (88%–102%), and mean percent relative standard deviation range (1.00%–5.70%) (n = 6) were obtained with a spiking at 0.20 µg L-1. The maximum concentrations of 282, 391, 60, 1086, and 1194 ng L-1 were obtained for cyanazine, simetryn, isoprothiolane, fenarimol, and diazinon, respectively. Cyanazine was the most frequently detected pesticide (64% of the samples, n = 84), followed by simetryn (58%), and then diazinon (57%). The highest and lowest pesticide concentrations were measured during the periods May–June, and January–February, respectively. Principal component analysis revealed three principal components in which the pesticides were linked to dissolved organic matter and total suspended solids. The major water quality parameters (electrical conductivity, pH, Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, NH4+, NO3?, Cl?, SO42?, NO2?, and temperature) showed no clear trends for these pesticides. The presence of simetryn and isoprothiolane was largely attributed to rice paddy farms, whereas diazinon was associated mostly with vegetable farms and orchards. The diazinon and isoprothiolane patterns were consistent with their use of controlling insects and fungi in the prefecture. The maximum diazinon concentration detected was higher than the human safe level specified by the European Union (100 ng L-1) in Council Directive 98/83/EC. This is of concern because of the bioconcentration potential of these residues in fish and other marine animals consumed by humans.  相似文献

Abstract

Four sprays of 0.05 ana 0.10% phosalone were given on chilli (Capsicum annuum Linn.) crop at an interval of 15 days starting from 21 days after transplanting. Residues were determined in the green chilli fruits by GLC after cleanup of extract on multiband thin‐layer plate. The half‐lives of residues were 1.55 and 1.68 days on chilli fruits from the crop treated with four sprays of 0.05 and 0.10% phosalone respectively. The time required to reach the tolerance limit of 1 ppm after last spray with 0.05 and 0.10 % emulsion was 4.75 and 7.62 days respectively. Washing of fruits under tap water was found effective in bringing down the level of phosalone residues by 21.64 to 75.11 %.  相似文献

Behaviour of forchlorfenuron residues in grape, soil and water   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Sharma D  Awasthi MD 《Chemosphere》2003,50(5):589-594
Persistence of forchlorfenuron residues in grape berries at harvest following its dip application as single or split doses to grape berry clusters and periodic dissipation of forchlorfenuron residues in grape berries following foliar spray application were studied. Periodic dissipation of forchlorfenuron residues following its fortification in soil and water were also studied. Splitting the dip application concentration of forchlorfenuron to grape berries reduced its residues in the berries at harvest, which persisted for more than 65 days from all treatments. In case of foliar application, however, the residues of forchlorfenuron in/on the grape berries persisted for 15-20 days only from three treatment concentrations of 2, 3 and 4 ml/l and dissipated with half-lives of 3.4-4.5 days. The residues of forchlorfenuron dissipated faster in soils maintained at field capacity moisture condition than in air dry soils. There was wide variation in its residue persistence in soil (DT50 = 15.1-121.3 days) depending on soil type and moisture condition. Forchlorfenuron residues persisted for more than 30 days in water and its dissipation was fastest at a water salinity level of 3.85 mmho/ cm although the rate of dissipation was not significantly affected by the change in salinity level from <0.04 to 5.90 mmho/cm.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This work describes the phytotoxic effect of different doses of diazinon and different application times on Agaricus bisporus mycelium, and determines the residue levels in mushrooms from the first three flushes. Mushroom cultivation is a widespread commercial activity throughout the world. The application of insecticide diazinon to the compost or casing layer is a common practice to control two mushroom pests, the phorid Megaselia halterata and the sciarid Lycoriella auripila. Application to the compost does not result in any appreciable fall in yield or quality, and does not delay the harvest time. In contrast, application to the casing led to a slight fall (6.2%) in production and a smaller number of mushrooms although they are larger in size. Residue levels of more than 0.01 ppm are detected in many of the samples analyzed, and raising the question whether the product should continue to be used in mushroom cultivation in the conditions in which it is currently applied.  相似文献

Nine brown-headed cowbirds ( Molothrus ater ) were exposed to turf sprayed with either EarthCare® (25% diazinon; 4.77 L a.i./ha) or Ortho-Klor® (12.6% chlorpyrifos; 5.21 L a.i./ha). Birds were euthanized and one foot from each bird was weathered outdoors for up to 28 days and the other foot was kept frozen until residue analysis. When compared to the unweathered feet, feet weathered for 28 days retained 43% and 37% of the diazinon and chlorpyrifos, respectively. Insecticide residues were below the level of detection (1.0 ppm) on control feet. Weathered feet may be used for determining organophosphorus insecticide exposure to birds.  相似文献

Abstract

Disulfoton and methamidophos (both at 1.12 kg a.i./ha), oxydemeton‐methyl and demeton, (both at 0.56 kg a.i./ha) were applied as post‐harvest foliar sprays to control the European asparagus aphid, Brachycolus asparagi. Oxidation of disulfoton, oxydemeton‐methyl and demeton to their corresponding sulfoxides and sulfones occurred in asparagus foliage 2 to 5 days after application. The total residues of these three compounds, including their toxic oxidative metabolites declined to less than 0.5 ppm about 47 days after the spray application whereas methamidophos persisted longer; 0.84 ppm of its residue was found even after 85 days. No residue was found above the limit of detection of 0.002 ppm in any asparagus spears which were produced in the following spring; the four compounds were sprayed on the asparagus plants during the previous season at realistic rates for aphid control.  相似文献
