Combined wastewater collection systems continue to serve as a common urban conveyance method in urban areas of Europe and older urban areas of the United States. This study uses combined wastewater collection system monitoring data from the urbanizing Liguori catchment and channel in Cosenza (Italy) to illustrate event-based delivery and distribution of conveyed pollutant indices. Motivated by recent European Union (EU) discharge control legislation, this study specifically differentiates the event-based delivery of these indices between dry and wet-weather flows. Although the relatively steady to diurnal-variable delivery phenomena in dry weather flows are known, transport limiting phenomena for wet-weather hydrology and mass delivery typically are not known for the same catchment. Limiting categories of transport for a pollutant phase are generated by variables such as flow volume and duration, stream power, hydrograph parameters, and previous dry hours (PDH). Transport limitations of wet and dry weather events from the 414-ha catchment were analyzed and characterized as limited by mass indices (first-order, first flush transport) or limited by flow (zero-order transport). Results indicated significant concentration differences between mass- and flow-limited events. Higher concentrations were associated with mass-limited events. Frequency distributions of flow, total suspended solids (TSS), chemical oxygen demand (COD), and five-day biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) were consistently exponential for wet-weather and mass-limited events. In contrast, flow, TSS, and BOD5 concentrations were distributed normally for flow-limited events. Results indicated a reasonable linear relationship between discharged TSS, COD, and BOD5 (biochemical oxygen demand) for Liguori Channel discharges into the Crati River. Wet-weather event transport was predominately mass-limited for TSS, COD, and BOD5.  相似文献

The main objective of this study was to examine the efficacy and capacity of using constructed wetlands on industrial pollutant removal. Four parallel pilot-scale modified free water surface (FWS) constructed wetland systems [dimension for each system: 4-m (L)x1-m (W)x1-m (D)] were installed inside an industrial park for conducting the proposed treatability study. The averaged influent contains approximately 170 mg l(-1) chemical oxygen demand (COD), 80 mg l(-1) biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), 90 mg l(-1) suspend solid (SS), and 32 mg l(-1) NH(3)-N. In the plant-selection study, four different wetland plant species including floating plants [Pistia stratiotes L. (P. stratiotes) and Ipomoea aquatica (I. aquatica)] and emergent plants [Phragmites communis L. (P. communis) and Typha orientalis Presl. (T. orientalis)] were evaluated. Results show that only the emergent plant (P. communis) could survive and reproduce with a continuous feed of 0.4m(3)d(-1) of the raw wastewater. Thus, P. communis was used in the subsequent treatment study. Two different control parameters including hydraulic retention time (HRT) (3, 5, and 7d) and media [vesicles ceramic bioballs and small gravels, 1cm in diameter] were examined in the treatment study. Results indicate that the system with a 5-d HRT (feed rate of 0.4m(3)d(-1)) and vesicles ceramic bioballs as the media had the acceptable and optimal pollutant removal efficiency. If operated under conditions of the above parameters, the pilot-plant wetland system can achieve removal of 61% COD, 89% BOD, 81% SS, 35% TP, and 56% NH(3)-N. The treated wastewater meets the current industrial wastewater discharge standards in Taiwan.  相似文献

通过管道实验和明渠实验模拟尾水输送过程,研究不同输送方案对尾水中COD、BOD5、SS、TN、氨氮、TP、DO、雌酮(E1)、辛基酚(OP)、壬基酚(4-n-NP)等指标的去除规律,为徐州市截污导流工程尾水输送方案的选取提供理论依据.结果表明:(1)除DO、TP和SS外,管道输送方案对其他指标的控制能力均优于明渠;管道输送过程中,除SS和TN外,污染物的浓度变化主要发生在0~48 h.(2)在选择管道输送方案的基础上,可以考虑在实际输送时提高流速,缩短尾水在管道中的停留时间.  相似文献

Denitrification in the river estuaries of the northern Baltic Sea   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Estuaries have been suggested to have an important role in reducing the nitrogen load transported to the sea. We measured denitrification rates in six estuaries of the northern Baltic Sea. Four of them were river mouths in the Bothnian Bay (northern Gulf of Bothnia), and two were estuary bays, one in the Archipelago Sea (southern Gulf of Bothnia) and the other in the Gulf of Finland. Denitrification rates in the four river mouths varied between 330 and 905 micromol N m(-2) d(-1). The estuary bays at the Archipelago Sea and the Gulf of Bothnia had denitrification rates from 90 micromol N m(-2) d(-1) to 910 micromol N m(-2) d(-1) and from 230 micromol N m(-2) d(-1) to 320 micromol N m(-2) d(-1), respectively. Denitrification removed 3.6-9.0% of the total nitrogen loading in the river mouths and in the estuary bay in the Gulf of Finland, where the residence times were short. In the estuary bay with a long residence time, in the Archipelago Sea, up to 4.5% of nitrate loading and 19% of nitrogen loading were removed before entering the sea. According to our results, the sediments of the fast-flowing rivers and the estuary areas with short residence times have a limited capacity to reduce the nitrogen load to the Baltic Sea.  相似文献

针对工业园区印染企业产生的印染废水和生活污水,采用独特的"常规组合工艺与‘植物稳定塘-人工湿地系统’联合工艺"对其进行集中统一处理,并考察了运行效果。数据结果表明,系统出水COD、BOD5、SS、色度、NH3-N和TP平均分别为63.2 mg/L、13.8 mg/L、5.0 mg/L、49倍、0.2 mg/L和0.4 mg/L,出水水质达到国家污水综合排放一级标准(GB8978-1996)。该工艺运行稳定,可有效去除废水中的COD、SS和色度,去除率均在90%以上。按日均处理量4×104m3计算,此工艺每年将削减COD排放近30万t。  相似文献

A series of investigations was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of using constructed treatment wetlands to remove pollutants from saline wastewater. Eight emergent plants; cattail, sedge, water grass, Asia crabgrass, salt meadow cordgrass, kallar grass, vetiver grass and Amazon, were planted in experimental plots and fed with municipal wastewater that was spiked with sodium chloride (NaCl) to simulate a saline concentration of approximately 14-16 mScm-1. All macrophytes were found tolerant under the tested conditions except Amazon and vetiver grass. Nutrient assimilation of salt tolerant species was in the range of 0.006-0.061 and 0.0002-0.0024 gm-2d-1 for nitrogen and phosphorus, respectively. Treatment performances of planted units were found to be 72.4-78.9% for BOD5, 43.2-56.0% for SS, 67.4-76.5% for NH3-N and 28.9-44.9% for TP. The most satisfactory plant growth and nitrogen assimilation were found for cattail (Typha angustifolia) though the plant growth was limited, whereas Asia crabgrass (Digitaria bicornis) was superior for BOD5 removal. Both were evaluated again in a continuous flow constructed wetland system receiving saline feed processing wastewater. A high removal rate regularly occurred in long-term operating conditions. The reduction in BOD5, SS, NH3-N and TP was in the range of 44.4-67.9%, 41.4-70.4%, 18.0-65.3% and 12.2-40.5%, respectively. Asia crabgrass often provided higher removal especially for BOD5 and SS removal. Nutrient enriched wastewater promoted flourishing growth of algae and plankton in the surface flow system, which tended to reduce treatment performance.  相似文献

对厌氧-3级好氧/缺氧生物膜工艺进行技术改进,并对改进后的"一体化生物膜技术"处理低碳氮比农村生活污水进行了实际应用。新工艺增设了回流泵(回流比2∶1),且厌氧段悬浮填料装填率由原来的15%提高到30%,3级好氧/缺氧段YDT型弹性立体填料装填率依次由原来的50%、40%、25%提高到70%、60%和40%。装置连续稳定运行12个月,平均进水量为18 m3/d,HRT为3.7 d,监测结果表明:对COD、BOD、NH3-N、TN、TP和SS平均去除率分别为75.6%、85.9%、86.7%、63.9%、69.3%和85.5%;出水COD、BOD、NH3-N、TN、TP和SS的平均浓度分别在34.9、8.9、3.4、9.9、0.9和6.9 mg/L以下。改进后出水BOD和TN的去除能力有较大提高,除TP外其他各项指标均达到了设计要求。  相似文献

介绍了UASB-接触氧化-气浮工艺处理柠檬酸废水的工程应用.工程运行表明,柠檬酸废水在进水SS、COD和BOD5分别为3427 mg/L、18 853 mg/L和11778 mg/L的条件下,经该工艺处理后,外排废水SS、COD和BOD5浓度分别为147.5 mg/L、223 mg/L和51.9 mg/L.该工艺具有占地面积小、工程投资和运行费用低及处理效果稳定等特点,能广泛应用于柠檬酸废水的处理.  相似文献

介绍了厌氧水解酸化 循环活性污泥系统在禽类屠宰加工废水中的工程应用。结果表明 ,禽类加工废水在进水SS、CODCr、BOD5分别为 75 2mg/L、16 4 7mg/L、76 4mg/L的条件下 ,经该工艺处理后 ,外排废水的SS、CODCr、BOD5分别为 5 0mg/L、6 5mg/L、10 .1mg/L。该工艺具有占地面积小 ,处理效率好 ,运行费用低等特点 ,能广泛应用于禽类屠宰加工废水的处理。  相似文献

The objectives of this paper are to determine effects of different grass species and their harvests on pollutant removal, elucidate impacts on soil characteristics and grass constituents, observe grass yield and quantify nutrient uptake by vegetation in an overland flow system (OLFS). Polluted creek water was applied to eight channels in the OLFS, which were planted with Paragrass, Nilegrass, Cattail, and Vetiver, with each two channels being randomly planted with a given grass species. The grass in one channel was harvested while that in the other channel was not. At a high rate of 27.8 m d(-1) hydraulic loading, the removal efficiencies of conventional pollutants such as BOD, COD, suspended solids (SS), and total coliforms in wastewater are not affected by the type of the grasses species, but those of nitrogen and phosphorus are affected by different species. Overall average removal efficiencies of BOD, COD, SS, ammonia, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and total coliforms through the OLFS are 42%, 48%, 78%, 47%, 40%, 33% and 89%, respectively. The concentration of nitrate, however, increases due to nitrification. Soil characteristics in OLFS have been changed significantly; specific conductivity, organic matter, exchangeable magnesium, extractable copper and zinc in soils all increase with time while pHs decrease. During the winter season, there is a significant accumulation of nitrate in grass with the subsequent reduction during the active growing season (Spring). The contents of nitrate and phosphorus in grass tissue are higher than those of grass in general pastureland, probably due to nutrient luxury uptake by grass. The overall grass yield, growth rate and nutrient uptake are quantified and implication of such high rate OLFS discussed.  相似文献

Contents of Cd and Zn in the blue mussel, Mytilus edulis, collected on the coast of the southern Bothnian Sea and the northern Baltic proper, were determined using flame AAS. The observed concentrations ranged from 4.7 to 10.8 mg kg(-1) dw for Cd and from 121 to 215 mg kg(-1) dw for Zn. The Zn/Cd ratio was around 20 at a majority of the investigated locations. Cd exhibited an approximate two-fold gradual increase from south to north in the study area. It is likely that this increase was due largely to enhanced bioavailability for Cd at lower salinity. However, it is not possible to eliminate the influence from a generally elevated overall concentration of cadmium in the southern Bothnian Sea caused by natural and anthropogenic input. Compared to mussels from marine waters on the west coast of Sweden, Cd concentrations were 5-10 times higher, similarity indicating an influence of low salinity. Zn did not show these salinity correlated differences. The high Zn content found south of the outlet of the river Dal?lven and gradually decreasing southwards was possibly caused by the high riverine input.  相似文献

In this paper, we examine metal concentrations in the water and in the crustacean Balanus balanoides from the Huelva estuary, one of the most polluted estuaries in Europe. Metal levels in waters are very high, especially those of Zn, Fe and Cu. Zn presents the highest concentrations, with a mean value of 690 microg l-1 in 2001 and 301 microg l-1 in 2002. As the water flows down through the estuary toward the sea, the metal concentrations drop sharply and the pH rises. The metal concentrations in balanoides tissues are, in general, very high, undoubtedly due to the high metal pollution of the water where it lives. Metal concentrations in Balanus balanoides tissues behave similarly to those in the water, reaching maximums in the upper part of the estuary and diminishing as we approach the sea. The element that reaches the highest levels in Balanus balanoides is Zn, with a mean value of 54.6 g kg-1 in 2001 and 29.9 g kg-1 in 2002, followed by Cu and Fe. There is a significant correlation (p<0.01) for concentrations of Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni and Zn in Balanus balanoides relative to their concentration in waters. Barnacles showed a great capacity to accumulate metals, especially Zn, Cu and Fe. Based on the results obtained, we can conclude that Balanus balanoides is a good tool for monitoring trace metals in the Huelva estuary.  相似文献

将草甸棕壤、炉渣和活性污泥等基质按体积比13∶6∶1配制生物填料,研究了生物填料地下渗滤系统(subsurface wastewater infiltration system,SWIS)在不同的水力负荷和污染负荷条件下对校园生活污水的脱氮效果。场地实验结果表明,当BOD5负荷为12.0 g BOD5/(m2·d),表面水力负荷为0.04-0.10 m3/(m2·d)时,SWIS对NH+4-N和TN的平均去除率分别为92.4%和82.0%。当水力负荷为0.08 m3/(m2·d),BOD5负荷9.3-16.8 g BOD5/(m2·d)时,SWIS对NH+4-N和TN的平均去除率为92.7%和81.2%。SWIS中氧化还原电位(oxygen reduction potential,ORP)随进水水力负荷和BOD5负荷的增加而降低,脱氮效率下降。综合出水水质和处理效率,适宜的水力负荷和污染负荷分别为0.065 m3/(m2·d)和12.0 g BOD5/(m2·d)。在此条件下,SWIS的启动周期为25-30 d。出水水质均优于《城市污水再生利用-景观环境用水水质》(GB/T18921-2002)标准,且处理效果稳定,抗负荷冲击能力强。  相似文献

矿化垃圾具有较大的吸附比表面积 ,较强的阳离子交换容量 (6 7.9meq/ 10 0 g) ,无二次污染 ,是很好的污水处理生物介质。借助于矿化垃圾柱物理模型试验装置 ,在实验室进行了历时 6个月的矿化垃圾反应床处理畜禽污水试验。结果表明 ,系统出水有较大改善 ,出水溶解氧有较大提高 ,pH值呈中性。该处理系统对畜禽污水中色度、SS、CODCr、BOD5、NH3 N和总磷的平均去除率分别为 6 4.7%、5 4.2 9%、75 .33 %、88.71%、94.5 5 %和 99.83 % ;处理出水中CODCr、BOD5、NH4 N和总磷的平均浓度分别为 185 .6 1mg/L、14.94mg/L、2 6 .79mg/L和 0 .0 79mg/L ;总氮的平均去除率仅为 2 1.2 9%。反应器运行 6个月以来 ,运转良好 ,未发生阻塞现象  相似文献

养殖污水生物处理的新型流态化技术原理及其应用案例   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
以COD、NH4+-N、SS值高以及臭味大的水质特征的养殖污水作为研究对象,针对一般处理模式中的生物反应器存在污泥相停留时间短、耐负荷冲击能力低、除碳与脱氮不能协调以及投资运行费用大等问题,自行研制了具有强化传质与混合功能的射流循环厌氧与气升循环好氧流态化反应器,实现了A/O2的组合生物强化工艺,再辅以预处理与后处理工艺,实践了规模为216 m3/d的工程设计与运行,通过连续6个月的运行数据来评价所提出工艺的工程效果。在A、O1与O2的运行负荷(kg COD/(m3.d))分别为6、6及0.5的近似条件下,当进水COD、BOD5、NH 4+-N和SS浓度分别为11 000~13 000、5 500~6 500、560~640和7 000~9 000 mg/L时,处理后出水浓度分别可降低至56.8~59.2、4.7~4.9、8.6~9.5和37.0~39.4 mg/L,各项指标均达到《广东省水污染物排放限值》(DB4426-2001)第2时段的一级排放标准限值要求,取得了明显的工程实效,表明所开发的技术有推广应用的价值。  相似文献

采用水解 好氧工艺的原理 ,设计了将污水与污泥处理合二为一的高效组合水解池 三相生物流化床流程 ,在广州经济技术开发区进行了处理量为 1 0 0L/h的城市污水处理试验。试验结果表明 :在平均进水CODCr为 4 92 3mg/L ,BOD5为 2 4 0 9mg/L ,SS为 5 5 2 3mg/L ,NH4 N为 1 8 8mg/L ,TP为 2 0mg/L条件下 ,平均出水CODCr为 4 7 3mg/L ,BOD5为 2 2 lmg/L ,SS为 1 3 9mg/L ,NH4 N为 5 2mg/L ,TP为 1 4mg/L ,并进行了该工艺中污泥循环的初步分析 ,为该工艺处理城市污水工业化提供了技术参考。  相似文献

针对染料中间体废水具有COD高、BOD5/COD低和具有生物毒性的特性,采用Fenton氧化-水解酸化-好氧组合工艺进行染料中间体生产废水的处理试验,试验结果表明:废水经Fenton氧化及水解酸化工序后,废水的BOD5/COD值由0.03升高至0.48,经好氧生化工序处理后的出水COD和BOD5浓度分别达122.6 mg/L和54.6 mg/L,符合《污水综合排放标准》(GB8978-1996)二级标准,该组合工艺COD总去除率达94%.  相似文献

城市污水截流外排工程是上海市城市水环境整治的重大战略。文章以CODCr为例,数值模拟研究了上海近岸水域东、南、西三大截流外排干线不同排污方案下污染物的输移扩散规律。结果表明,长江口的水动力条件有利于污水的稀释扩散;在现状排污条件下,无论洪枯季,引起的环境水体污染物CODCr浓度增量均不大,能够满足长江口水环境容量的要求;对于规划排放量的污水,预处理和一级处理条件下引起的环境水体污染物CODCr,浓度增量较为显著,对周围敏感目标的影响也比较大;二级处理条件下所引起的污染浓度增量比较小,对水环境的影响相对较小。因此,在规划城市污水外排工程时,建议必须近期和远期相结合,合理充分利用水体自净能力。  相似文献

To gain insight into the antibiotic pollution in the Jiulong River estuary and the pollutant sources, we analyzed the concentration of 22 widely-used antibiotics in water samples collected from the river and estuary, 17 and 18 sampling sites, respectively. Contamination with sulfonamides, quinolones and chloramphenicols was frequently detected and the distribution pattern of antibiotics suggested that most of the pollutants are from the Jiulong River, especially from the downstream watersheds. To reveal the ecological effects, we isolated 35 bacterial strains from the estuary and analyzed their antibiotic resistance to the eight most frequently detected antibiotics. The bacteria were subsequently classified into seven different genera by 16SrDNA sequencing. Up to 97.1% of the bacteria showed resistance and 70.6% of strains showed multi-resistance to these antibiotics, especially to sulfonamides. This study demonstrated a pattern of antibiotic contamination in the Jiulong River and its estuary and illustrated high bacterial antibiotic resistance which was significantly correlated with the average antibiotics concentrations and detected frequencies in the estuary.  相似文献
