This study investigates the partition of heavy metals in both solid and gas phases in the flue gas from municipal solid waste (MSW) incinerators. Six MSW incinerators in Taiwan were examined and heavy metals in the flue gas at the inlets and outlets of air pollution control devices (APCDs) were analyzed. Heavy metals including Hg, Pb, Cd, Zn, Cu and Cr were sampled by USEPA Method 29 and further analyzed using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) and cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry (CVAAS). Experimental results revealed that the removal efficiencies of the APCDs for the heavy metals Pb, Cd, Zn, Cu and Cr greatly exceeded 90%, but that of Hg did not. Two groups of heavy metals upstream of APCDs were observed. Pb, Cd, Zn, Cu and Cr were present mainly in the solid phase with a solid to gas ratio (S/G) of over 12.3. However, in most cases, mercury appeared mainly in the gas phase with an S/G ratio from 0.15 to 1.04, because it has a low boiling point. Additionally, treatment with the APCDs increased the S/G ratio of mercury because gaseous mercury could be removed by injecting powdered activated carbon (PAC) into the flue gas. Moreover, the distribution of particle sizes in the solid phase was bimodal. Finer particles (d(p)2.5 microm) contained more Cr and Hg.  相似文献

Dioxin contents in fly ash from large-scale MSW incinerators in Taiwan   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
In this study, fly ash samples were collected from three municipal waste incinerators (MWI) in Taiwan. These MWIs investigated are equipped with different air pollution control devices (APCDs). Preliminary results indicated that 2,3,7,8-PCDD/Fs homologue patterns of various types of fly ash were quite similar for all three MWIs. Concentrations of higher-chlorinated congeners of PCDDs and PCDFs were remarkably higher than those of lower-chlorinated congeners. In the case of MSW-A, the PCDD/PCDF ratios of ashes were found in the decreasing order for cyclone, boiler and baghouse. The PCDD/PCDF ratios in various types of fly ash of MWI-B was boiler-A < boiler-B < ESP < boiler-C. As for MSW-C, no obvious trend has been observed for PCDD/PCDF ratio. However, the ratio in boiler ash was higher than that in baghouse ash of MWI-A. The dioxin contents in fly ash would increase as the fly ash passed through APCD zones. In other words, the environmental conditions of APCD may actually cause the increase of the dioxin contents in fly ash. The trend for dioxin contents in fly ash collected from three MSW incinerators investigated was MSW-C < MSW-A < MSW-B.  相似文献

对中国典型的小型焚烧设施现状和二噁英类排放进行了初步调查研究,未经处理的小型垃圾焚烧设施烟气中二噁英类毒性当量(TEQ)大于6 ng/m3,小型火化机烟气中二噁英类TEQ大于5 ng/m3.设计并检验了布袋除尘器和活性炭滤布的二噁英类去除效果.仅使用布袋除尘器二噁英类去除率不高,布袋除尘器和活性炭滤布联用可以有效去除飞灰和气相中的二噁英类,去除率达到90%左右,可达到《生活垃圾焚烧污染控制标准》(GB 18485-2001)二噁英类排放标准.  相似文献

The distribution, enrichment, and accumulation of heavy metals in the sediments, especially those at the vicinity of tributary estuaries of Kaohsiung Harbor, Taiwan were investigated. Sediment samples from six locations in the Kaohsiung Harbor were collected quarterly in the period from 2002 to 2005 and characterized for metal content (e.g., Hg, Pb, Cd, Cr, Cu, Zn and Al), water content, organic matter, total nitrogen, total phosphorous, total grease, and grain size. Results showed that metal concentrations varied from 0.58 mg kg(-1) for Cd to 596 mg kg(-1) for Zn. Metal concentrations at the vicinity of river mouths were higher than those at other locations. All heavy metals studied, except Cr, had relatively high enrichment factors and geo-accumulation indices in the estuaries. Moreover, metal concentrations correlated closely to the physical-chemical properties of the sediments, which strongly suggested the influence of industrial and municipal wastewaters discharged from the neighboring industrial parks and river basins. Results would help develop strategies for pollution control and sediment remediation of Kaohsiung Harbor.  相似文献

Background, aim, and scope

The purpose of this study was to monitor and present the heavy metal concentrations in the blood of residents of areas near municipal waste incinerators (MWIs), who are more prone to environmental pollution. We also sought to compare and analyze the residents?? perception of environmental pollution as one of the factors affecting heavy metal concentrations in the blood using a survey about the perceived damage caused by the facilities. Since heavy metal levels in the blood can be affected not only by local environmental pollution but also by personal and occupational factors, heavy metal levels in the blood need to be verified and consistently monitored.

Methods

Residents who live within 300?m of MWIs in Seoul are acknowledged to be under indirect influence according to the Waste Disposal Act. A survey was given to 841 residents living within 300?m of a MWI from 2006 to 2009. The concentrations of heavy metals (lead, cadmium, and mercury) in the blood were measured in the 841 surveyed residents and in 105 residents in reference areas. Additionally, the perception of the damage caused by municipal waste incinerators was investigated using scores from 1 to 5 on a Likert scale.

Results

The measurements of the heavy metal concentrations in the blood showed that the mean concentrations of lead, cadmium, and mercury were 43.1, 1.7, and 1.3?ug/L, respectively. The blood levels of lead and cadmium were slightly higher in the group of the subjects who had resided the longest near the municipal waste incinerators. When compared with the domestic investigation by the Ministry of Environment, the concentrations of lead and cadmium were a little higher, while that of mercury was a little lower. Overall, there was no significant difference in the distribution of heavy metal levels in the blood among age groups. This work analyzes surface sediment samples collected from 40 stations along the Kaohsiung coast in southern Taiwan for chlorobenzenes (CBs), hexachlorobutadiene (HCBD) and heavy metals (Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, Ni, Fe, Mn and Cr). The highest CBs concentrations are recorded in station T7-15 (about 10 km west off the outlet of Da-lin-pu ocean outfall pipe), with total di-, tri-, tetra-, penta- and hexa-chlorobenzenes concentrations of 290.5, 117.1, 64.5, 15.7 and 22.3 ng/g, respectively. The major pollution source of HCBD is most likely located in the Tso-yin ocean outfall field; while the Dah-lin-pu ocean outfall field and Kao-ping Chi estuary, located in the southern portion of Kaohsiung coast, are the major contributors of hexachlorobenzene. The concentration of CBs congeners correlate fairly well with each other, as do metals. However, concentrations of organics (CBs and HCBD) did not correlate with metals. This finding implies that the pollution characteristics of organics and heavy metals in this highly utilized coastal zone markedly differ from each other.  相似文献

以硫酸亚铁盐为底物,培养以氧化亚铁硫杆菌为主要菌种的土著沥滤微生物,采用批式方法对湘江长沙段底泥进行微生物沥浸实验。实验结果表明,底物投加量与底泥固体浓度比(Sd/Sc)为1.5时已能满足底泥的微生物沥浸要求,进一步研究发现底泥固体浓度为13%、底物投加量为19.5 g/L、沥浸时间为6 d时,底泥中超标重金属Cd、Zn和Cu的去除率可分别达到83.1%、75.3%和61.2%;沥浸后底泥中大部分重金属以残渣态存在,且含量低于农用污泥中污染物控制标准,其中硫化物有机结合态Cu浸出较Zn、Cd需更低的pH,且Cu以间接机理浸出为主;以Fe2+为底物的沥浸体系中,黄铁矾的重吸附或共沉淀是沥浸实验后期重金属浸出率下降的原因之一。  相似文献

在分析镍渣的矿物相组成和重金属元素含量的基础上,鉴定了镍渣样品的浸出毒性,并考察了pH、液固比和浸出时间等条件对镍渣样中铬、铅、铜和锌等重金属浸出特性的影响。结果表明,镍渣中的重金属总量约为渣样的0.9%,且铬、铜和锌的含量较高,需进行安全管理。实验所用镍渣样品为第Ⅰ类一般工业固体废物。在强酸条件下镍渣中重金属浸出浓度较大,pH3后浸出浓度显著降低;液固比40 L/kg时,镍渣中重金属不断溶出,液固比40 L/kg后,浸出达到饱和,浸出浓度趋于平衡;随着浸出时间的增加,重金属离子的浸出浓度先增加后减少,但由于各重金属性质不同,各重金属达到最大浸出浓度的时间不同。  相似文献

Leaching of heavy metals from contaminated soils using EDTA   总被引:40,自引:0,他引:40  
Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) extraction of Zn, Cd, Cu and Pb from four contaminated soils was studied using batch and column leaching experiments. In the batch experiment, the heavy metals extracted were virtually all as 1:1 metal-EDTA complexes. The ratios of Zn, Cd, Cu and Pb of the extracted were similar to those in the soils, suggesting that EDTA extracted the four heavy metals with similar efficiency. In contrast, different elution patterns were obtained for Zn, Cd, Cu and Pb in the column leaching experiment using 0.01 M EDTA. Cu was either the most mobile or among the most mobile of the four heavy metals, and its peak concentration corresponded with the arrival of full strength EDTA in the leachate. The mobility of Zn and Cd was usually slightly lower than that of Cu. Pb was the least mobile, and its elution increased after the peaks of Cu and Zn. Sequential fractionations of leached and un-leached soils showed that heavy metals in various operationally defined fractions contributed to the removal by EDTA. Considerable mobilisation of Fe occurred in two of the four soils during EDTA leaching. Decreases in the Fe and Mn oxide fraction of heavy metals after EDTA leaching occurred in both soils, as well as in a third soil that showed little Fe mobilisation. The results suggest that the lability of metals in soil, the kinetics of metal desorption/dissolution and the mode of EDTA addition were the main factors controlling the behaviour of metal leaching with EDTA.  相似文献

More than 50% of municipal sewage sludges cannot be used on agricultural land because of their heavy metals content. Therefore, microbial leaching of heavy metal from municipal sludge was studied in a continuously stirred tank reactor without recycling (CSTR) or with sludge recycling (CSTRWR) at residence times of 1, 2, 3 and 4 days. The reactor CSTRWR is supposed to be more efficient for bacterial process due to the recycling of active bacteria from the settling tank to the reactor. The CSTRWR and the CSTR with 1 g litre(-1) FeSO(4).7H(2)O addition were equally efficient because of copper reprecipitation or recomplexation in the settling tank of the CSTRWR. In the CSTR, about 62% of copper and about 77% of zinc were dissolved in 3 days residence time compared to 50% of copper and 64% of zinc in the CSTRWR, if 3 g litre(-1) FeSO(4).7H(2)O was added. Thus with larger amount of substrate, the CSTR was more efficient than the CSTRWR. Residence time and pH were the main factors for zinc solubilization while for copper, the redox potential was also a major factor. The effect of FeSO(4).7H(2)O concentration on bacterial activity to solubilize heavy metals was also studied, increased concentration of FeSO(4).7H(2)O yielded better copper solubilization while it had no effect or a negative effect on zinc. This supports the hypothesis of a direct mechanism for zinc solubilization and of an indirect mechanism for copper solubilization.  相似文献

Bioleaching process, which causes acidification and solubilization of heavy metals, is one of the promising methods for removing heavy metals from contaminated sediments. The solubilization of heavy metals from contaminated sediments is governed by the sediment pH. In the present study, the significance of pH in bioleaching of heavy metals from contaminated sediment was evaluated at different solid contents of sediments in a bench-scale reactor. Results showed that a temporal change of pH in the bioleaching process was effected by the buffering capacity of the sediment particulates. The variations of pH in this bioleaching process were calculated by a modified logistic model. It was observed that solubilization of heavy metals from sediments is highly pH-dependent. In addition, a non-linear equation for metal solubilization relating pH value in the bioleaching process was established. This allows an easier and faster estimate of metal solubilization by measuring pH in the bioleaching process.  相似文献

合理、经济地处理混合电镀污泥,回收其中有价值的金属具有重要意义。以不同的酸作为浸出剂对电镀污泥中的金属进行了浸出效果实验。结果表明,在相同条件下,各酸的浸出效果顺序为:硫酸>盐酸>王水>硝酸;液体水与固体电镀污泥比为3,干污泥为5 g,硫酸加入量为15 mL,时间1 h条件下,混合电镀污泥中金属铜锌的浸出率最大,达到97.38%。分别采用铁和铁锰合金还原剂常温还原低熔点重金属离子铜、锌,浸出液中99%以上含量的铜、锌沉淀,使低熔点重金属与黑色金属铁、锰、铬有效分离。低熔点混合重金属可以用来做铜合金添加剂使用,最后沉淀的混合黑色金属氢氧化物处理后可以用来做炼钢合金添加剂使用。  相似文献

Municipal solid waste incinerators (MSWIs) have long been the major contributors of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) to ambient air in Taiwan. After stringent MSWI emission standards were introduced in 2001, the long-term continuous monitoring of flue gas and ambient air quality became necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the related control strategies. Three MSWIs and the surrounding ambient air were investigated in the current study for PCDD/F characteristics during 2006 to 2011. The average concentrations in the flue gas ranged from 0.008?~?0.0488 ng I-TEQ/Nm3, which is much less than the emission standard in Taiwan (0.1 ng I-TEQ/Nm3) (I-TEQ is the abbreviation of International Toxic Equivalent). This led to extremely low levels in the ambient air, 0.0255 pg I-TEQ/Nm3, much less than the levels seen in most urban areas around the world. Additionally, the results obtained using the Industrial Source Complex Short-Term Dispersion Model (ISCST3) indicate that the PCDD/F contributions from the three MSWIs to the ambient air were only in the range from 0.164?~?0.723 %. Principal component analysis (PCA) showed that the PCDD/Fs in the air samples had very similar characteristics to those from mobile sources. The results thus show that stringent regulations have been an effective control strategy, especially for urban areas, such as Taipei City.  相似文献

污泥中的重金属是影响污泥处置利用的重要因素,污泥制砖可以有效固结重金属。采用污水厂污泥与页岩按一定配比混合制备烧结砖,通过毒性浸出实验,研究烧结砖对重金属的固化程度以及重金属浸出稳定性,从而评定烧结制砖的安全性。结果表明,在浸出液为中性和酸性条件下,Cu、Cr、As和Pb的浸出浓度基本保持稳定,浸出时间的影响不大,而Zn的初始浸出浓度相对较大,最终逐渐降低;碱性条件下,Cr、Cu和Pb的浸出浓度随时间变化不大,而Zn和As的浸出浓度则在浸提时间内无明显变化规律;但不同pH浸出液下的重金属浸出浓度均远低于国家限值,污泥制砖重金属固化效果好,安全可靠。  相似文献

污水污泥中污染物尤其是重金属的水体浸出作为重要的二次污染途径备受关注。为了探讨污水污泥中重金属的溶出规律,对上海7个污水处理厂的污水污泥进行了重金属总量分析,并采用水平振荡法对上述污水污泥中重金属进行了溶出动力学研究。结果表明,污水污泥中Cu、Cr和Zn的含量均较高,之后依次是Pb、As、Cd和Hg;污水污泥中重金属溶出动力学过程分为快速反应和慢速反应两个过程,可以用Elovich方程进行模拟;污水污泥中各重金属的溶出负荷差异较大,Cu、Cr和Zn的溶出负荷较大,其他较小,但各重金属相对于污水污泥中重金属总量的溶出百分比差异不大,基本处于10%以下。  相似文献

An enhanced electrokinetic process for removal of metals (Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb, Zn) from an industrial wastewater sludge was performed. The electrokinetic experiments were conducted under a constant potential gradient (1.25 V cm(-1)) with processing fluids of tap water (TW), sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) and citric acid (CA) for 5 days. Results showed that metal removal efficiency of heavy metals for EK-TW, EK-SDS and EK-CA systems are 11.2-60.0%, 37.2-76.5%, and 43.4-78.0%, respectively. A highest metal removal performance was found in EK-CA system. The removal priority of investigated metals from sludge by EK process was found as: Cu > Pb > Ni > Fe > Zn > Cr. The results of sequential extraction analysis revealed that the binding forms of heavy metals with sludge after electrokinetic process were highly depend upon the processing fluid operated. It was found that the binding forms of metals with sludge were changed from the more difficult extraction type (residual and sulfate fractions) to easier extraction types (exchangeable, sorbed, and organic fraction) after treatment by electrokinetic process. Results imply that if a proper treatment technology is followed by this EK process to remove metals more effectively, this treated sludge will be more beneficial for sludge utilization afterwards. Before it was reused, the risk associated with metals of more mobile forms to the environment need to be further investigated. The cost analysis was also evaluated for the investigated electrokinetic systems.  相似文献

Agricultural products/by-products are natural sorbent materials that possess capacity for removing contaminants including heavy metals from wastewaters and hence can be exploited as replacement of costly methods for wastewater treatment. The sorption of heavy metals onto these biomaterials is attributed to constituent's proteins, carbohydrates, and phenolic compounds that contain functional groups such as carboxylate, hydroxyl, and amine. Natural efficiency of these materials for removing heavy metals can be enhanced by treating them with chemicals. The present review emphasizes their use in developing eco-friendly technology for a large-scale treatment of wastewater.  相似文献
