环境生物技术在环境控制与污染治理中的应用主要是利用微生物降解和转换污染物.一些人类合成的化学物质由于具有高毒性,且难以被自然界微生物降解,已经严重威胁生态环境和人类的健康.生物治理以其低成本、完成矿质化和实现原位处理等特点,成为较好的治理技术.体外定向分子进化技术是一种发现新的生物表型和新酶的好方法,DNA改组是重要的体外分子进化技术,成功地改造了许多在医药、工业和环境保护等的商业酶.综述了近年来体外定向分子进化技术在环境生物污染治理中的研究进展和应用.  相似文献

Urban ecologists have demonstrated that cities are functioning ecosystems. It follows then that species living in these contexts should participate in and experience the same suite of biological processes, including evolution, that have occupied scientists for centuries in more “natural” contexts. In fact, urban ecosystems with myriad novel contexts, pressures, and species rosters provide unprecedentedly potent evolutionary stimuli. Here, we present the case for studying adaptive evolution in urban settings. We then review and synthesize techniques into a coherent approach for studying adaptive evolution in urban settings that combines observations of phenotypic divergence, measurements of fitness benefits of novel genetically based phenotypes, and experimental manipulations of potential drivers of adaptation. We believe that studying evolution in urban contexts can provide insights into fundamental evolutionary biology questions on rate, direction, and repeatability of evolution, and may inform species and ecosystem service conservation efforts.  相似文献

Here, we present the evolution profile of tar in the product gas during cedar biomass gasification. We also discuss the evolution of other contaminants (H2S, COS, NH3, HCN, and HCl). The cedar wood was gasified under various operating conditions in a bench-scale externally heated updraft gasifier; this was followed by thermal reforming.Tar levels in the product gas were significantly affected by the operating conditions used. At a gasification temperature of 923 K, there was no clear relation between the evolution of phenolic tar in the product gas as a function of residence time. The evolution of PAH tar at a low gasification temperature was lower than the evolution of phenolic tar. With increasing temperature, the proportion of PAH tar content became significant. At a gasification temperature of 1223 K, increasing the residence time reduced the content of PAH tar owing to a catalytic effect associated with ash generation at high temperatures. Increasing the steam-to-carbon (S/C) ratio under thermal conditions had a slight effect on PAH conversion. However, increasing the equivalence ratio (ER) effectively reduced the tar levels.The conversion of fuel-sulfur and fuel-nitrogen to volatile-sulfur and volatile-nitrogen, respectively, increased with increasing S/C ratio and ER. The evolutions of COS and HCN gases were much smaller than the evolution of H2S and NH3. The evolution of HCl in the product gas decreased slightly with increasing ER. Increasing the S/C ratio decreased the HCl levels in the product gas. The effect of temperature on contaminant levels could not be fully understood due to limited availability of experimental data at various temperatures. We have compiled the evolution of the radiative forcing for several mechanisms based on our radiative transfer models using a variety of information sources to establish time histories. The anthropogenic forcing mechanisms considered are well-mixed greenhouse gases, ozone, and tropospheric aerosols (direct and indirect effect). The natural forcing mechanisms taken into account are the radiative effects of solar irradiance variation and particles of volcanic origin. In general there has been an increase in the radiative forcing during the 20th century. The exception is a decline in the radiative forcing in the 1945–1970 period. We have found that the evolution of anthropogenic particle emissions in the same period may have been a major cause of this decline in the forcing. We have discussed uncertainties in the various forcings and their evolution. The uncertainties are large for many forcing mechanisms, especially the impact of anthropogenic aerosols. In particular the indirect effect of aerosols on clouds is difficult to quantify. Several evolutions of their effect may have been possible, strongly influencing the evolution of the total anthropogenic radiative forcing.  相似文献

Natural populations in polluted areas are possibly subjected to selective pressures for an increased resistance to toxicants. This can result in the evolution of resistance, which may have important implications for decisions regarding safe ambient toxicant levels. By reviewing the evolution of resistance to heavy metals in aquatic organisms, we aimed to determine if all populations negatively affected by toxicants do adapt to them. If the published literature accurately represents the situation in polluted areas (i.e. negative results having an equal chance of being published), it can be concluded that most, but not all, populations in polluted areas do have an increased resistance. But it can usually not be determined if such an increased resistance has a genetic basis. There is less evidence for the evolution of resistance in metazoans (especially fish) than in micro-organisms. Additional information strongly indicates that many populations fail to survive in polluted environments. It thus seems dangerous to relax water quality criteria on the assumption that all populations in polluted environments will evolve an increased resistance. But the fact that the evolution of resistance to environmental pollutants does seem to occur in some populations in polluted environments warrants taking that possibility into consideration when evaluating the results of bioassays and monitoring programs.  相似文献

The impact of graded concentrations (5, 10, 15 and 20 mg dm(-3) of acid mordant Metomega Chrome Orange GL, a common dye used in woollen, carpet and textile industries, was studied on protein and pigment content and photosynthetic oxygen evolution in a diazotrophic cyanobacterium Nostoc muscorum. The lower concentration of 5 mg dm(-3) showed a negligible effect on protein and pigment content and photosynthetic oxygen evolution, whereas at higher concentrations a drastic decrease in the above parameters was observed. The highest concentration of 20 mg dm(-3) resulted in a decrease of protein, chlorophyll a, phycocyanin and carotenoid content by 72, 76, 54 and 17% of the control, respectively. Photosynthetic oxygen evolution also decreased by 92% of the control at this concentration of the dye.  相似文献

Herbarium mosses from 1879–1881, 1973–1975 and 2006–2007 were used to investigate the historical changes of atmospheric deposition of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) at a remote site in Northern Spain. Natural abundance of nitrogen and carbon isotopes was also measured in order to assess the evolution of emissions from anthropogenic sources. Nitrogen and PAH concentrations as well as δ13C and δ15N ratios were significantly higher in 19th century samples compared to present century samples. Moreover, PAH distribution varied over the centuries, with the trend towards enrichment in light PAHs. The carbon, nitrogen and PAH concentrations measured in the mosses tally with the historical evolution of anthropogenic emissions in the area, mainly influenced by changes in economic activities, domestic heating and road traffic density. Mosses provided by herbaria seem to offer the possibility of studying long-term temporal evolution of atmospheric PAH deposition.  相似文献

One of the most serious externalities of agricultural activity relates to greenhouse gas emissions. This work tests this relationship for the Portuguese case by examining data compiled since 1961. Employing cointegration techniques and vector error correction models (VECMs), we conclude that the evolution of the most representative vegetables and fruits in Portuguese production are associated with higher controls on the evolution of greenhouse gas emissions. Reversely, the evolution of the output levels of livestock and the most representative animal production have significantly increased the level of CO2 (carbon dioxide) reported in Portugal. We also analyze the cycle length of the long-term relationship between agricultural activity and greenhouse gas emissions. In particular, we highlight the case of synthetic fertilizers, whose values of CO2 have quickly risen due to changes in Portuguese vegetables, fruit, and animal production levels.

This paper develops a new method of statistical analysis of interaction and transformation between different modes in the particle size distribution in atmospheric aerosols in the presence of strong stochastic fluctuations of the environmental and meteorological parameters. Fast processes of mode transformation are investigated in combustion aerosols near a busy road on the basis of the fragmentation mechanism of particle evolution. A unique anti-symmetric correlation pattern between different modes is described and explained by means of the formulated fragmentation theorem. This provides yet another confirmation of the fragmentation mechanisms of aerosol evolution.  相似文献

The results of a study on the evolution of the vegetation in a reclaimed area contaminated with dioxin are presented. Phytosociological relevés were carried out in 1992-1993 and in 1998 in 25 easily recognizable points. Elaborations on the species number, life forms, chorological types, vertical structure and ecological indicator values were realized. The most outstanding results regard the biodiversity, with floristic changes; the ecology, with increase in the ecological diversity, and the structure, with increase in the cover and complexity. The increase in the shrub layer is a clear indication of structural evolution. If, on the one hand, the vegetation structure indicates evolution of the system, on the other, the present floristic composition is still the result of the starting conditions. The observed floristic changes arise from autogenic floristic readjustments because there are no allogenic floristic increases. This is due to the isolation of the area which is completely surrounded by human sites, mostly of an urban type.  相似文献

A distinct seasonal variation in the enzyme activities and carbon dioxide evolution in soil, with a maximum in summer, was observed in soil treated with carbaryl and in control soil. There was no significant difference in the rate of enzyme activity between 0 and 10 cm and 10 and 20 cm depth of soil. Carbaryl insecticide applied at a normal agricultural dose did not have any inhibitory effect on soil enzyme activity, or on the rate of CO(2) evolution. However, the cellulase activity was greater in the surface soil of the control plot than in the treated plot.  相似文献

Bean plants have been fumigated for 1 h with 300 or 1000 nl litre(-1) SO(2). Dependent on the SO(2) concentration, we observed an evolution of ethane the leaves. Even with 1000 nl litre(-1) SO(2) the evolution lasted for only 4 h. Pretreatment of single leaves with the radical scavenger ethoxyquin prevented this SO(2)-induced ethane formation. Another indication for the initiation of radicalic peroxidative processes by SO(2) was obtained by the manipulation of the endogenous antioxidants vitamin C and glutathione. An increase of both compounds by application of precursors of both biosynthetic pathways could completely suppress peroxidative ethane evolution. We also found a very good quantitative correlation between endogenous glutathione and ethane formation after SO(2) treatment. During these peroxidative processes, several cell components like fatty acids, chlorophylls, carotenoids and vitamin C were decreased. Based on our results, a mechanism for SO(2) induction of radical reactions leading to peroxidation and the role of endogenous antioxidants are discussed.  相似文献

Three Lagrangian experiments were conducted during IGAC's second aerosol characterization experiment (ACE-2) in the area between Portugal, Tenerife and Madeira in June/July 1997. During each Lagrangian experiment, a boundary layer air mass was followed for about 30 h, and the temporal evolution of its chemical and aerosol composition was documented by a series of vertical profiles and horizontal box pattern flown by the Meteorological Research Flight research aircraft Hercules C130. The wealth of observational data that has been collected during these three Lagrangian experiments is the basis for the development and testing of a one-dimensional Lagrangian boundary layer model with coupled gas, aqueous, and aerosol phase chemistry. The focus of this paper is on current model limitations and strengths. We show that the model is able to represent the dynamical and chemical evolution of the marine boundary layer, in some cases requiring adjustments of the subsidence velocity and of the surface heat fluxes. Entrainment of a layer rich in ozone and carbon monoxide from a residual continental boundary layer into the marine boundary layer as well as in-cloud oxidation of sulphur dioxide by hydrogen peroxide are simulated, and coherent results are obtained, concerning the evolution of the small, presumably sulphate–ammonia aerosol mode.  相似文献

In a laboratory study, soil amended with and without wheat straw (2.8 g kg(-1) soil) was incubated under 70% water holding capacity (WHC), continuously flooded and flooded/drained cycle conditions at 30 degrees C for 51 days. Dinitrogen and N2O evolution and ammonia volatilisation were measured during the incubation. Extractable NH4+-N and NO3--N were determined at the end of the incubation. Entrapped N2, N2O, and dissolved NH4+-N and NO3--N in drainage water were measured in the flooded/drained cycle treatment when the floodwater was drained. The results indicated that N loss through ammonia volatilisation was undetected in all treatments due to the low soil pH value (pHH2O= 5.87) and no air movement. The recovery of urea-15N as N2 was lowest in the continuously flooded treatments (0.75% and 0.96% with and without straw amendment, respectively), highest in the 70% WHC treatments (5.65% and 4.41%, respectively), and intermediate in the flooded/drained cycle treatments (1.79% and 2.65%, respectively). The recovery of urea-15N as N2O was in the same order as that of N2, negligible in the continuously flooded treatments, 0.01% and 0.07% in the flooded/drained cycle treatments, and 1.29% and 2.23% in the 70% WHC treatments, respectively. Peak N2O evolution rates were observed after the floodwater was drained but no substantial evolution was found after the soil was reflooded following drained periods. However, peak N2 evolution rates were observed after the onset of both drainage and re-flooding. Considerable quantities of N2 but no detectable N2O were entrapped in the flooded soil.  相似文献
