The dynamics of the atrazine mineralization potential in agricultural soil was studied in two soil layers (topsoil and at 35-45 cm depth) in a 3 years field trial to examine the long term response of atrazine mineralizing soil populations to atrazine application and intermittent periods without atrazine and the effect of manure treatment on those processes. In topsoil samples, 14C-atrazine mineralization lag times decreased after atrazine application and increased with increasing time after atrazine application, suggesting that atrazine application resulted into the proliferation of atrazine mineralizing microbial populations which decayed when atrazine application stopped. Decay rates appeared however much slower than growth rates. Atrazine application also resulted into the increase of the atrazine mineralization potential in deeper layers which was explained by the growth on leached atrazine as measured in soil leachates recovered from that depth. However, no decay was observed during intermittent periods without atrazine application in the deeper soil layer. atzA and trzN gene quantification confirmed partly the growth and decay of the atrazine degrading populations in the soil and suggested that especially trzN bearing populations are the dominant atrazine degrading populations in both topsoil and deeper soil. Manure treatment only improved the atrazine mineralization rate in deeper soil layers. Our results point to the importance of the atrazine application history on a field and suggests that the long term survival of atrazine degrading populations after atrazine application enables them to rapidly proliferate once atrazine is again applied. 相似文献

The mutagenic potential of two soils amended with a municipal sewage sludge at two application rates was monitored over a 2-year period using Salmonella/microsome mutagenicity assay. Samples were collected from undisturbed monolith lysimeters of Weswood sandy clay (Fluventic Ustochrept) and Padina sandy loam (Grossarenic Paleustalf) amended with dried sewage sludge at 50 and 100 Mg/ha. Soil samples were collected and sequentially extracted with methylene chloride and methanol. The residues from these extracts were tested for mutagenicity at five doses with and without metabolic activation in Salmonella strain TA98. In general, the mutagenic potential of the amended soils of both application rates for the first 8 weeks following sludge application increased and then slowly decreased. The maximum mutagenic response observed in the soil extracts was 222 revertants at a dose of 10 mg of residue. This response was induced by the methanol extract from the Weswood soil collected 56 days after the application of 50 Mg/ha sewage sludge as compared to the 100 Mg/ha application which induced 202 revertants/mg. The mutagenicity of all fractions extracted from the sludge-amended soil at both application rates collected 717 days after application were not appreciably different from extracts from the unamended soils. The data indicate that chemicals that were mutagenic in bacteria persist in the soil and that at the higher application rates, as much as 2 years may be required for the mutagenic potential of the soil to return to background levels. 相似文献

Abstract The application of agrichemicals is a highly inefficient process and one of the main causes of the environmental and health risks currently associated with pesticide usage. Efforts to mitigate this inefficiency have largely been unsuccessful, due principally to the poor understanding of the processes involved in the spray application of pesticides, from atomization to biological effect. A generalized model of the application system for pesticides from atomization to biological result is described in this overview. The model allows the investigation of the biological consequences of altering the application parameters for the bacterial insecticide Bacillus thuringiensis when used against the diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella L.) with cabbage as the substrate. Parameters input into the model include the in‐flight droplet size frequency distribution of the spray cloud, spatial distribution of the deposit, spread and subsequent environmental degradation of the deposit, and behavioral and toxicological effects. It is hoped that such a modelling approach can afford insights into the application process, and, through a better understanding of the inefficient but still highly effective hydraulic application systems used worldwide, reduce that inefficiency to tolerable levels. 相似文献

Abstract Field experiments were conducted in corn plots during 1988 that were artificially Infested with stalkborers, Papianema nebris (Guenee'). Two atomizers, a flatfan and a flood nozzle chosen for different droplet size distributions were used to apply two insecticides, chlorpyrifos and cyfluthrin at two application rates. Nozzles, insecticides, rates, and associated interactions were evaluated for control of stalkborer in the field. Laboratory studies involved application of insecticides to soil and glass via a spray track for bioassay at field application rates. Image analysis of percent area travelled on water sensitive paper by stalkborers was compared to droplet percent area covered to obtain percent area contacted per insect. Droplet size distributions for each nozzle were obtained using an Aerometrics particle sizing instrument. Significant differences in stalkborer control were attributed to percent area covered by smaller droplets measured by image analysis. 相似文献

Abstract Methods have been developed to monitor the translocation of microencapsulated cyfluthrin following perimeter applications to residential dwellings. A pilot study was implemented to determine both the potential for application spray to drift away from dwellings and the intrusion of residues into homes following perimeter treatments. Residential monitoring included measuring spray drift using cellulose filter paper and the collection of soil samples from within the spray zone. In addition, interior air was monitored using fiberglass filter paper as a sorbent medium and cotton ball swabs were used to collect surface wipes. Fortification of matrixes resulted in recoveries of >90%. Spray drift was highest at the point of application and declined to low but measurable levels 9.1m from the foundations of dwellings. Soil residues declined to low, but measurable levels by 45 days post‐application. No cyfluthrin was measured from indoor air; however, some interior surfaces had detectable levels of cyfluthrin until three days post‐application. Findings indicate that spray drift resulting from perimeter applications might contaminate non‐target surfaces outside the spray zone. Soil borne residues may serve as persistent sources for human exposure and potentially intrude into dwellings through the activities of occupants and pets. Residues do not appreciably translocate through air and consequently inhalation is not a likely route for human exposure. Surface residues detected indoors suggest that the physical movement of residues from the exterior to the interior might be a viable route of movement of residues following this type of application. 相似文献

利用燃煤电厂脱硫石膏改良盐碱地对于废弃物资源化利用和发展循环经济具有重要意义。选择具有典型代表性的宁夏西大滩碱化土壤,采用两因素随机区组田间实验设计,进行脱硫石膏改良碱化土壤种植枸杞的效果实验研究。研究表明脱硫石膏施用量和施用深度不同,对于降低土壤碱化度、总碱度和pH值,改良土壤碱性的效果不同;脱硫石膏施用量不同,对于促进枸杞枝条和径杆的生长不同。施用量24 000 kg/hm2较48 000 kg/hm2提高枸杞枝条生长量10.5%~18.7%、径杆生长量10.5%~18.7%;脱硫石膏施用量24 000 kg/hm2,施用深度60 cm更有利于提高枸杞红果体积、红果鲜重和产量。脱硫石膏施用量24 000 kg/hm2,施用深度60 cm较未施脱硫石膏提高枸杞红果体积、红果鲜重和产量分别为28.3%、15.0%和37.9%。 相似文献

Long-term effects of fertilization on the forms and availability of soil phosphorus in rice paddy 总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
The changes in total P accumulation and P compounds with time in the plough layer in a paddy soil in southern Korea were investigated in relation to the continuous application of chemical fertilizers (NPK), straw based compost (Compost), combination these two (NPK+Compost) for 31 years. Continuous fertilization increased the total and inorganic P contents in plough layers. In NPK, inorganic P fraction did not change with time, but organic P content increased significantly. Long-term application of chemical fertilizer together with compost accelerated the decrease in the organic P fraction, presumably due to promoting microbial activity in the plow layer, and then increased significantly inorganic P fraction. Compost application decreased the residual P and Fe-P fractions and then increased inorganic P fraction, in spite of continuous compost application. Increase in total, inorganic and extractable P with time may be closely related to the increase in the availability of accumulated P for rice growth. 相似文献
