Photodegradation(PD) of methylmercury(MMHg) is a key process of mercury(Hg) cycling i water systems, maintaining MMHg at a low level in water systems. However, we posses little knowledge of this important process in the Jialing River of Chongqing, China. In sit incubation experiments were thus performed to measure temporal patterns and influencin factors of MMHg PD in this river. The results showed that MMHg underwent a ne demethylation process under solar radiation in the water column, which predominantl occurred in surface waters. For surface water, the highest PD rate constants were observed i spring(12 × 10-3± 1.5 × 10~(-3)m~2/E), followed by summer(9.0 × 10~(-3)± 1.2 × 10~(-3)m~2/E), autum(1.4 × 10~(-3)± 0.12 × 10~(-3)m~2/E), and winter(0.78 × 10~(-3)± 0.11 × 10~(-3)m~2/E). UV-A radiatio(320–400 nm), UV-B radiation(280–320 nm), and photosynthetically active radiation(PAR400–700 nm) accounted for 43%–64%, 14%–31%, and 16%–45% of MMHg PD, respectively. PD rat constants varied substantially with the treatments that filtered the river water and amended with chemicals(i.e., Cl-, NO_3~-, dissolved organic matter(DOM), Fe(III)), which reveals tha suspended particulate matter and water components are important factors in affecting the PD process. For the entire water column, the PD rate constant determined for each wavelengt range decreased rapidly with water depth. UV-A, UV-B, and PAR contributed 27%–46%, 6.2%12%, and 42%–65% to the PD process, respectively. PD flux was estimated to be 4.7 μg/(m~2·yea in the study site. The need to design measures for adapting to climate change is increasingly recognized as important and has encouraged research on the role of local ecological knowledge (LEK) in supporting adaptation. Studies of how LEK can help adapt to increasing climate variability remain limited. This article develops an approach through which the process of adaptation can be tracked at a community level. We describe how community residents in the Amazon floodplains incorporate natural hydrologic and ecological processes into their management systems to optimize ecosystem functioning.We describe two case studies where LEK is used as a resource by small-scale fisher-farmers in the Amazon floodplains to adapt to the increasing impacts on their livelihoods generated by changing climate patterns. This article draws on local histories and seeks to identify the critical factors that either facilitate or impede household ability to reduce their vulnerability. We found that the LEK of small fisher-farmers has facilitated the adaptation of a resource management system to optimize production across a broad range of floodplain habitats and conditions. There are, however, significant challenges to operationalizing these approaches, including an absence of systematically collected data on adaptation strategies and outcomes. In addition, local people must be integrated into policymaking processes so their knowledge can contribute to the design of locally appropriate policies for adapting to the impacts of climate related events. 相似文献

Methylmercury(MeHg) bioaccumulation is a growing concern in ecosystems worldwide. The absorption of solar radiation by dissolved organic matter(DOM) and other photoreactive ligands can convert MeHg into less toxic forms of mercury through photodemethylation. In this study, spectral changes and photoreactivity of DOM were measured to assess the potential to control photoreactions and predict in situ MeHg concentration. Water samples collected from a series of lakes in southwestern Nova Scotia in June, August, and September were exposed to controlled ultraviolet-A(UV-A) radiation for up to 24 hr. Dissolved organic matter photoreactivity, measured as the loss of absorbance at 350 nm at constant UV-A irradiation, was positively dependent on the initial DOM concentration in lake waters(r~2=0.94). This relationship was consistent over time with both DOM concentration and photoreactivity increasing from summer into fall across lakes. Lake in situ MeHg concentration was positively correlated with DOM concentration and likely catchment transport in June(r = 0.77) but not the other sampling months. Despite a consistent seasonal variation in both DOM and Fe, and their respective correlations with MeHg, no discernable seasonal trend in MeHg was observed. However, a 3-year dataset from the 6 study lakes revealed a positive correlation between DOM concentration and both Fe(r = 0.91) and MeHg concentrations(r = 0.51) suggesting a more dominant landscape mobility control on MeHg.The DOM-MeHg relationships observed in these lakes highlights the need to examine DOM photoreactivity controls on MeHg transport and availability in natural waters particularly given future climate perturbations. 相似文献

以江苏省里下河腹部地区38个典型湖泊湖荡为研究对象,分析了春季浮游植物群落结构特征及其与环境因子的关系,运用了基于理化指标的综合营养状态指数(TLI)评价方法和基于浮游植物群落结构分析的生物指标(Shannon-Wiener多样性指数H′和Pielou均匀度指数J)评价方法,评价了湖泊湖荡营养状态.结果显示共采集到里下河腹部地区湖泊湖荡浮游植物7门50属89种,主要隶属于绿藻门(Chlorophyta)和硅藻门(Bacillariophyta);浮游植物细胞丰度介于2.3×10~5~3.7×10~7 cells·L~(-1),生物量介于0.05~15.02 mg·L~(-1),绿藻门与隐藻门(Cryptophyta)在细胞丰度上占优势,隐藻门在生物量上占优势;梅尼小环藻(Cyclotella meneghiniana)、啮蚀隐藻(Cryptomonas erosa)、尖尾蓝隐藻(Chroomonas acuta)、四尾栅藻(Scenedesmus guadricauda)为主要优势种;生物指标评价方法的结果显示湖泊湖荡总体为轻度富营养,与TLI评价方法的结果有较好一致性,表明两类评价方法在里下河腹部地区具有较强内在关联性. 相似文献

在对长江中下游地区45个湖泊表层沉积硅藻属种分布及多次季节性水样调查的基础上,研究了57个常见硅藻属种对总磷指标的生态学特征.利用加权平均回归方法,计算出常见属种对总磷指标响应的生态最佳值及忍耐幅度.根据生态学理论得出,属种Cyclotellameneghiniana、C.atomus、Stephanodiscusparvus、S.minutulus、Naviculasubminiscula是长江中下游湖泊富营养化发生的很好的指示性属种;而Aulacoseiraalpigea、Cyclostephanosdubius、C.tholiformis、C.invisitatus、Stephanodiscushantzschii、Naviculacirtrus、Nitzschiaagnita、N.subacicularis等则是潜在的湖泊富营养化的指示性属种. 相似文献

Spatial and vertical variations of perfluoroalkyl substances in sediments of the Haihe River, China 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The levels of six perfluoroalkyl substances(PFASs) in surface sediment and their vertical variations in dated sediment cores from the Haihe River were investigated; studied substances included perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA),perfluorononanoic acid(PFNA),perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS),perfluorodecanoic acid(PFDA),perfluoroundecanoic acid(PFUnA),and perfluorododecanoic acid(PFDoA). Results showed that the total PFAS concentration in surface sediment ranged between 0.52 and 16.33 ng/g dry weight(dw) with an average of3.47 ng/g dw,with PFOS and PFOA as the dominant PFASs. In general,the PFAS concentrations in the mainstream increased from the upper to the lower reaches,except that a drop occurred downstream of the Erdao dam. Although the PFASs in the sediment cores did not show a clear decreasing or increasing trend with depth,the three cores had a similar vertical variation.The PFAS levels were relatively low in the surface sediment,and reached the first high point at8–20 cm as a result of the wide use of PFASs from 1990 to 2000. After that the PFAS levels decreased,and then increased to a second high point at about 40–48 cm,which might be caused by the leaching of PFASs in sediment. Because PFASs have hydrophilic groups and relatively high solubility,the PFASs will transfer from the upper to lower layers of sediment when water infiltration occurs,leading to the fluctuation of PFAS levels in sediment cores. This study suggests that both the temporal variation of sources and transfer processes of PFASs in sediments are important factors influencing the vertical variation of PFASs in sediment cores. 相似文献

基于对长江中下游22个浅水湖泊有色可溶性有机物吸收的测量,运用经验模式估算了紫外辐射(UV-B、UV-A)在长江中下游湖泊的衰减及对应的穿透深度,并利用在武汉东湖实测的紫外辐射衰减进行了检验.结果表明,UV-B波段的320nm和UV-A波段的380nm衰减系数变化范围分别为2.05~21.00m-1,1.07~12.85m-1,对应的1%穿透深度分别为0.22~2.25m,0.36~4.29m.估算得到的紫外辐射衰减系数与DOC浓度均存在显著性正相关,但UV-B波段要高于UV-A波段.武汉东湖实测的紫外辐射衰减检验发现,基于CDOM吸收系数估算UV-B辐射衰减较为精确,而由于浮游植物吸收和悬浮物散射等影响对UV-A波段估算精度则明显下降. 相似文献

通过测定常州典型河段河水和底泥中的磷含量,同时分析了磷在不同底泥颗粒中含量分布的变化,阐述了河流中磷的分布和转移趋势。结果表明:河水中的磷含量通常低于底泥间隙水中的磷含量,但当河流发生富营养化后,底泥中的磷大量向上层水体释放,使得河水中的磷含量不断增加。底泥有效磷与总磷含量之间没有明显相关性,而与底泥间隙水的磷含量之间存在着交换平衡。底泥颗粒以2μm~50μm的粒级为主,即以细砂和粉砂质有机-无机聚合体矿物颗粒为主。磷在底泥颗粒中的含量随着底泥粒径的增大而减少,且粒径越大的颗粒对磷的吸附能力越弱,其中的磷向外释放的可能性越大。 相似文献

以长江中下游太湖、巢湖和龙感湖等3个湖泊表层沉积物(0~1cm)为对象,研究了不同沉积物对湖水中磷的吸附特性,并探讨了沉积物表面特性和化学组分等因素对磷的吸附行为的影响.结果表明:表层沉积物对磷的吸附作用主要发生在快吸附过程的前1~2h之内;湖泊表层沉积物对磷的吸附基本符合修正后的Langmuir型等温方程,不同采样点的表层沉积物中本底磷吸附量(QNAP)以及磷饱和吸附量(Qmax)差别显著,与采样点所处环境条件有很大关系.同时,沉积物的饱和吸附量与比表面积、活性铁、铝含量和有机质含量有较好的正相关性,相关系数分别为0 92,0 98,0 78和0 96;活性铁、铝含量与有机质含量之间也有较好的正相关性;颗粒物Zeta电位在一定程度上影响沉积物对磷的吸附能力. 相似文献

为了解祊河河流沉积物重金属情况,以祊河橡胶坝至沂蒙路大桥段为主研究对象,对河段内8个断面沉积物的3个指标(Cu、Zn、Cd)进行监测调查,参照国内有关标准,建立了适合该区域的沉积物污染评价标准,主要运用潜在生态危害指数法和内梅罗法标准指数法对检测结果进行生态风险和污染程度评价。结果表明:祊河橡胶坝至沂蒙路大桥段沉积物重金属生态危害指数高达3418.5,内梅罗污染指数为6.95,为重度污染,说明祊河沉积物重金属污染非常严重。 相似文献

随着经济的发展,长江三角洲地区的富营养化,如蓝藻,水葫芦爆发等问题日趋严重。给该区的可持续发展带来了严重的后果。本文结合太湖,淀山湖,阳澄湖的多年环境监测资料,探讨了长江三角洲湖泊富营养化的现状和发展趋势;湖泊氮磷和耗氧性有机污染物含量逐年上升,每十年水质下降一个级别;局部水域富营养化严重。近15年上升了一个营养级别;富营养化持续加重加剧。继而分析了形成湖泊富营养化的主要污染物源,并在此基础上提出了相应的调控对策和措施。 相似文献

The assessment of the ecosystem health of urban rivers and lakes is the scientific basis for their management and ecological
restoration. This study developed a three-level indicator system for its assessment. The results indicated that: Zhonghai
and Nanhai are in the state of transition from unhealthy to critical state and all the other lakes are in unhealthy states.
Water environmental quality, structure and function of the aquatic ecosystem, and the structure of waterfront areas were the
constraints. Nanhai was ranked as poor and the others were all ranked as very poor. However, the ecological environment of
Zhonghai and Nanhai were better than the others, the sums of the degree of membership to the healthy state and critical state
were all close to 0.6. and the restorations of these lakes were moderate. The sums of the degree of membership to the healthy
state and critical state of the other lakes were under 0.3, as it was difficult to restore these lakes. Some suggestions on
scientific management and ecological restoration of the six lakes were proposed: ①To control non-point pollution and to improve
the water quality of six lakes and the water entering into these lakes; ②To improve the hydrological conditions of six lakes;
③To rehabilitate the aquatic ecosystem and waterfront areas.

概括分析了上海市水系的基本特性,同时通过对骨干河道和主要水利控制片的水质进行评价,表明上海市水系污染的特征为:(1)地面水污染属有机污染型;(2)以污水回荡以上溯为表征的水质污染物的迁移和积累;(3)夏季是上海水质污染最严重的季节;(4)感潮河网易受咸潮污染;(5)污染源逐步由点源向非点源转移。最后提出了上海市水系污染防治的对策措施。 相似文献
