This paper documents the variation in pressure drop and collection efficiency for fiberglass/fly ash fabric filter systems caused by variations in cleaning intensity (reverse air and reverse pulse), air to cloth ratio, and dust loading. Reverse air rates greater than 2 fpm were required to produce stable pressure characteristics. Pulse jet pressure greater than 50 psi reduced collection efficiency. Increased air to cloth ratios produced decreased collection efficiency.  相似文献

This work focused on trace metal behavior and removal in a fabric filter or in a humidification reactor during the cofiring of sawdust and refuse-derived fuels (RDFs) in a pilot-scale bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) boiler. Trace metal emissions measurements before and after the fabric filter revealed that removal efficiency in the fabric filter was in the range of 80-100%, and that the European Union (EU) Directive on Incineration of Waste restrictions for trace metal emissions are easily achieved even if addition of RDFs substantially increases the concentration of trace metals in fuel blends. Limestone injection enhanced the removal of As and Se but had no noticeable effect on the removal of other trace metals. Extensive formation of HgCl2 and condensation on fly ash particles during sawdust plus 40% RDF cofiring resulted in a 92% Hg removal efficiency in the fabric filter. Limestone injection had no effect on the Hg removal in the fabric filter but decreased the Hg removal in a humidification reactor from 40 to 28%. Results of the bed material and fly ash analysis suggested capture of Cu, Pb, Mn, Ni, and Zn in the bed material but also suggested that these metals may be released from the bed if the fuel characteristics or process conditions are changed.  相似文献

在自建的脉冲喷吹实验台上,利用Y—YD-7044型压电式传感器和MYD-8801加速度传感器,测试0120×2000mm覆PTFE膜无纺布滤袋在不同喷吹压力下,加文丘里与不加文丘里时的最大侧壁压力峰值和最大反向加速度,并对比计算了获得同样清灰强度时的脉冲阀一次喷吹耗气量。结果显示,添加文丘里能显著增大滤袋中下部最大侧壁压力峰值和整条滤袋上的最大反向加速度,即提高脉冲喷吹清灰强度;对应同样的喷吹压力,加文丘里时的平均最大侧壁压力峰值和平均最大反向加速度比不加文丘里时分别平均提高大约70%和50%;加文丘里获得同样清灰强度时的脉冲阀一次喷吹耗气量比不加文丘里时节省40%左右。证实对于脉冲喷吹清灰系统,添加文丘里能有效改善清灰效果以及减小能量?肖耗。  相似文献

Outdoor and indoor environments are profitably viewed as parts of a whole connected through various physical and chemical interactions. This paper examines four phenomena that share a dependence on vapor pressure—the extent to which an organic compound in the gas phase sorbs on airborne particles, sorbs on surfaces, sorbs on particles collected on a filter or activates trigeminal nerve receptors. It also defines a new equilibrium coefficient for the partitioning of organic compounds between an airstream and particles collected by a filter in that airstream. Gas/particle partitioning has been studied extensively outdoors, but sparingly indoors. Gas/surface partitioning occurs primarily indoors while gas/filter partitioning occurs at the interface between outdoors and indoors. Activation of trigeminal nerve receptors occurs at the human interface. The logarithm of an organic compound's saturation vapor pressure correlates in a linear fashion with the logarithms of equilibrium coefficients characteristic of each of these four phenomena. Since, to a rough approximation, the log of an organic compound's vapor pressure scales with its molecular weight, molecular weight can be used to make first estimates of the above processes. For typical indoor conditions, only larger compounds with lower-saturation vapor pressures (e.g., tetracosane, pentacosane, or di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate) have airborne particle concentrations comparable to or larger than gas phase concentrations. Regardless of a compound's vapor pressure, the total mass sorbed on indoor airborne particles is quite small compared to the total sorbed on indoor surfaces, reflecting the large difference in surface areas between particles within a room and surfaces within a room. If the actual surface areas are considered, accounting for roughness and porosity, the surface concentration of organics sorbed on typical airborne particles appears to be comparable to the surface concentration of organics sorbed on indoor carpets, walls and other materials (based on data from several studies in the literature). Mirroring the importance of phase distributions outdoors, an organic compound's indoor lifetime, fate and even health impacts depend on its distribution between phases and among surfaces.  相似文献

Of the advanced electrostatic collection concepts studied, those employing water droplets or filters have demonstrated enhanced performance and should be considered for future applications. Electrostatic collection with water drops shows high removal efficiencies for 0.5 µm particles which are difficult to capture. Electrostatic collection with filters shows the potential for operation at either lower pressure drops or higher filtration rates.  相似文献

Compliance with particulate standards for utility boilers burning low sulfur western coal has resulted in the installation and proposed installation of several fabric filter collectors where cold or hot electrostatic precipitators would have traditionally been applied. Recently, SO3 conditioning has been used to improve cold precipitator performance resulting in considerable reduction in specific collection area (SCA). All this suggests that trade-offs exist indicating ranges of SCA, A/C ratio, and power plant size (Mw) where fabric filters become competitive with electrostatic precipitators. Conceptual cost models are presented which indicate total capital investment and annual costs for the control devices. Precipitator costs are correlated with collecting area, gas flow rate, and power input and are presented as functions of SCA and Mw. Fabric filter costs are keyed to gross filter area, pressure drop, and gas flow rate. Fabric filters become competitive when a cold precipitator requires SCAs in excess of 600 to 800 and competitive when a hot precipitator requires equivalent cold precipitator SCAs in excess of 600 to 1000 depending on A/C ratio, Mw, and hot precipitator SCA credit allowance. The S03 conditioned precipitator scenario is shown to be economically competitive with fabric filters.  相似文献

Presently, there is no effective way to interpret or predict dust penetration through a pulse-jet cleaned fabric filter. This paper presents a model which considers penetration straight through the filter and penetration by seepage. A considerable number of studies have been devoted to penetration by the straight through process; however, a comparison of data from the literature with the present model indicates that seepage and not straight through penetration accounts for virtually all penetrating dust. Although insufficient information is presently available to use the model to predict penetration, the model does show trends that should occur with changes in filter operating variables such as filtration velocity and pulse pressure, and suggests areas in which further research is necessary.  相似文献

基于计算流体动力学的方法采用三维、可压缩、非稳态流动数学模型对袋式除尘器脉冲清灰过程进行了数值模拟,得到了滤袋内外压差,并与文献实验值进行了比较,验证了仿真模型的可靠性。基于响应面法研究了喷吹压力、喷吹高度、滤袋直径和滤袋长度对脉冲清灰性能的影响,得到这4个影响因子的二次多项式预测模型,并进行优化。结果表明,喷吹压力为0.3 MPa,喷吹高度为0.2 m,滤袋直径为0.16 m,滤袋长度为6 m时,内外压差峰值最优,优化结果与仿真模拟结果相差小于3%。研究结果为袋式除尘器脉冲清灰系统的设计与优化提供了重要参考。  相似文献

Loss of filtration efficiency in a fabric filter baghouse is typically caused by bag failure, in one form or another. The degree of such failure can be as minor as a pinhole leak or as major as a fully involved baghouse fire. In some cases, local air pollution regulations or federal hazardous waste laws may require estimation of the total quantity of particulate matter released to the environment as a result of such failures. In this paper, a technique is presented for computing the dust loading in the baghouse exhaust when one or more bags have failed. The algorithm developed is shown to be an improvement over a previously published result, which requires empirical knowledge of the variation in baghouse pressure differential with bag failures. An example calculation is presented for a baghouse equipped with 200 bags. The prediction shows that a small percentage of failed bags can cause a relatively large proportion of the gas flow to bypass the active bags, which, in turn, leads to high outlet dust loading and low overall collection efficiency from the baghouse.  相似文献

Operation and maintenance and performing correct system monitoring of fabric filters is discussed. The anticipation of future problems at the time of start-up and the necessity of maintaining correct records on the system to assist in later troubleshooting is stressed. When all is going well, the fabric filter requires little but routine maintenance on moving parts, which is usually well identified in the service manuals. Problems usually appear as excessive emissions, high pressure drop, or inadequate bag life. In order to find the cause of these problems, one must have maintained sufficient Information on the system to identify what changed and when. With this information, there are logical paths to follow to the proper solutions.  相似文献

Presently, in Japan there are no limitations on the emission of PCDDs or PCDFs, but in order to study the feasibility of dry type air pollution control, a pilot plant was constructed in 1988 and the removal efficiencies for PCDDs, acid gas and heavy metals were measured.At the same time PCDDs concentration was compared with that of a previously installed electrostatic precipitator (ESP) plus wet scrubber line.In this paper, the following two items are reported.
1. (1) The difference in the amounts of PCDDs and PCDFs produced due to differences in gas temperature and retention time in ESP and fabric filter (FF).
2. (2) Removal efficiencies of PCDDs and PCDFs of fabric filter.
PCDDs concentration, generally 100–200 ng/Nm3 at the boiler outlet (ESP inlet and/or Quench Reactor (QR) inlet), increased several times at the ESP outlet, but it showed almost no increase at the QR outlet due to a sudden temperature drop. The temperature was 280–310°C, and the gas retention time was 12 sec. during passage through ESP so that it is thought that PCDD was formed under these conditions.On the other hand, a removal efficiency of approx. 90% was obtained with the fabric filter, and the PCDD at the bag outlet was at a sufficiently low level.  相似文献

Experiments have been carried out to assess the effect of ammonia injection upstream of a small-scale fabric filter which collects ash from the burning of coal in Australia. The ammonia injection resulted in an increase in the pressure drop across the filter. This was apparently due to an increase in the cohesivity of the ash, which made dislodgement during cleaning more difficult. There were some indications that the ammonia-conditioned ash formed a more porous dust cake during the filtration cycle.  相似文献

This symposium sponsored by the Fiber Society and the Filtration Society has provided a clear indication that the “black-art” era of filtration has passed or is on its way out. The R & D efforts reviewed here by investigators from diverse disciplines provide evidence that these high efficiency particulate control devices can be made to function not only more consistently at high levels but now with even better control of the fine, health damaging particles. The outstanding improvement in every filtration parameter, reliably attainable by aerosol charging and/or by imposing an electric field on the filter, indicates clearly that fabric filtration has now reached an even higher plateau in particulate control technology.  相似文献

This paper deals with the Wheelabrator/Taisei precoat filter systems being used on coke oven pushing operations. The Taisei test program and the filter installation at Tokyo Gas are discussed. The performance features of both industrial and experimental fabric filter systems with respect to the concentration and particle size properties of the collector effluents are examined. From a qualitative viewpoint the factors that should influence significantly the collection characteristics of a fabric filter are dust properties, fabric properties, operating parameters, filter cleaning method, and critical interdependencies. The quantitative prediction of performance and the establishment of design parameters are limited for a generalized approach but data have been reported that provide excellent support for limited applications.  相似文献

Mass differences less than 100 microg must be correctly measured in gravimetric analysis of particles collected on filters. Even small variations in mass measurement may contribute significant errors to calculated concentrations. In addition to the collected particles, a number of other factors affect the observed mass difference between the measurements before and after sampling. The most often controlled of these factors are static charge, temperature, and humidity. Using 951 laboratory blank filter weights, we have statistically analyzed these and other factors that affect the observed filter weight. Some of these are controllable or correctable; others are not and enter into the final results as errors. The standard deviation of differential blank filter weighing after applying all corrections was 2.7 microg. The most important correctable factors are air buoyancy variation and filter storage time. When weighing blank Teflon filters at relative humidity < 50%, these are an order of magnitude more important than weighing-room humidity. Using field blank filters in each weighing batch could control these three factors but also doubles the errors caused by balance random variation and filter handling contamination, because four weighing measurements and the handling of two filters are needed to obtain one corrected differential mass result.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A new style of diffusion denuder has been evaluated specifically for sampling HNO3. A coated fabric is used as the denuder substrate, which can be loaded directly into a standard filter holder. This approach allows direct denuder sampling with no additional capital costs over filter sampling and simplifies the coating and extraction process.

Potential denuder materials and coatings were evaluated in the laboratory to test the removal efficiency. NaCl coatings were used to assess more than 20 materials for HNO3 collection efficiency. Particle retention, which would cause a denuder to have a positive bias for gas concentration measurements, was evaluated by ambient air sampling using particulate sulfate as the reference aerosol. Particle retention varied from 0 to 15%, depending on the denuder material tested. The best performing material showed an average particle retention of less than 3%.

Denuder efficiency of four fabric materials was tested under ambient conditions to determine removal efficiency. The fabric denuder method was compared with a long path-length Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer, a tunable diode laser absorption spectrometer (TDLAS), and a denuder difference sampler to independently measure HNO3. HNO3 collection efficiency was typically 90% for the denuders, whether coated with NaCl or not. For 10-L/min sampling rates with the fabric denuder, the square of the correlation coefficient with the FTIR spectrometer was 0.73, compared to 0.24 with the TDLAS.  相似文献
