Using prawns, Palaemon elegans (Rathke) from intertidal pools on the Isle of Cumbrae, Scotland, and P. serratus (Pennant) from the subtidal at Plymouth, England, some metabolic responses to hypoxia and anoxia have been studied. P. elegans was found to have a greater tolerance of severe hypoxia than P. serratus. Tolerance of totally anoxic conditions, however, was limited to only 4 h in P. elegans and to approximately 1 h in P. serratus. exposure to moderate hypoxia (30 torr) resulted in little change in the concentration of L-lactate in the blood or in the tissues of either P. elegans or P. serratus. When exposed to extreme hypoxia (10 or 5 torr for P. elegans), however, there was a progressive increase in the concentration of L-lactate in the blood and in the tissues of both species. After normoxic conditions had been restored, the concentration of L-lactate in the blood and in the tissues returned to normal resting levels more rapidly in P. elegans than in P. serratus. Under hypoxic conditions, both P. elegans and P. serratus showed an increase in the concentration of blood glucose and a slight reduction in the glycogen content of the tissues. The concentrations of blood glucose and of tissue glycogen returned to normal levels within 6 h of the prawns being returned to normoxic conditions. The results of an in situ study in April and August 1986 to examine the metabolic responses of P. elegans to the hypoxic conditions normally experienced in high-shore rock pools are also presented. The ecological significance of the differing abilities of these species to survive hypoxic exposure is discussed.  相似文献

The growth of 0-group Pleuronectes platessa L. on diets containing plant proteins was examined. Diets were made acceptable to the fish by including in them cod flesh which had been predigested with proteolytic enzymes, as well as a proportion of air-dried cod meal. A leaf-protein concentrate was fed at 6 levels ranging from 0 to 63 % of the total dietary protein; B.P. protein concentrate (Toprina) and soyabean meal were examined at a single level — about 45 % of the dietary protein. The remainder of the protein in these diets was animal protein, cod meal or cod flesh. Analysis of the weight gains after a 12 week feeding period and of the growth curves showed that, as the proportion of leaf protein in the diet increased, the growth rate diminished, the effect becoming more pronounced when leaf protein reached 40 % or more of the dietary protein. Growth on the diet containing B.P. protein concentrate was superior to that on the diet containing soyabean meal and was comparable with diets containing low levels of leaf protein. The protein efficiency ratios (PER= g live weight gain/g protein fed) for the different diets showed similar trends to the growth rates. Diets containing 40 % or less of leaf protein and the B.P. protein diet had PERs of 1.4 to 1.5. The soyabean meal diet and diets containing more than 40 % of the protein as leaf protein had PERs of 1.0 or less. The results are considered in the context of production diets for flatfish.  相似文献

Fatty acid biosynthesis in the larval stages of Penaeus japonicus Bate was examined by feeding microencapsulated diets containing (1-14C) palmitic acid, and fat-free diets supplemented with defined fatty acids. Highest larval growth rates were achieved on diets containing Tapes philippinarum lipid and, when defined fatty acids were substituted, on diets containing 20:63 fatty acid. The radioactive tracer experiments indicate that 16:17, 18:0 and 18:19 fatty acids may be synthesised from palmitic acid and that P. japonicus larvae may possess the ability to elongate 18:33 to 20:53 and 22:63, and 18:26 to 20:46. However, the rates of these reactions appear to be too slow to meet the larval requirements for essential fatty acids and the 3 series of polyunsaturated fatty acids must be provided in the diet.  相似文献

Phasing of persistent circatidal rhythmicity to an artificial tidal cycle was assessed in the prawns Penaeus indicus Milne Edwards and P. monodon (Fabricius) collected from the Vellar estuary, South India, in the period between June and December 1984. Simulated 6 h cycles of 20 and 30 S, and 6 h cycles of 20° and 30°C induced a persistent tidal rhythmicity after 20 cycles. The imposed 6 h cycles of 25 and 30 S, and 25° and 30°C induced tidal rhythms after 30 cycles. In both cases, re-established tidal activity rhythms were evident for at least 48 h — higher activity occurring during the higher salinity and lower temperature phases of the simulated tidal cycles. Artificial tidal cycles of still water and running water synchronized the tidal rhythm after 20 cycles. Combined 30 S, 20°C, for 6 h and 20 S and 30°C for 6 h established a persistent tidal rhythm after 10 cycles, whereas wave action had no influence on tidal synchronization. The influence of possible interactions of tidal rhythms and in situ tidal variables on circatidal activity is discussed.  相似文献

在不同氮(N)、磷(P)初始质量浓度的培养液中对四尾栅藻(Scenedesmus quadricauda)进行培养。利用Monod方程分别计算四尾栅藻对总氮、总磷的半饱和常数(Ks)。结果表明:当氮质量浓度大于4.0 mg.L-1,磷质量浓度大于0.20 mg.L-1时能满足四尾栅藻的正常生长。四尾栅藻最适生长的氮质量浓度范围为16.0-32.0 mg.L-1,磷质量浓度范围为2.0-5.40 mg.L-1。以磷为限制底物时的半饱和常数KsP远远小于以氮为限制底物时的半饱和常数KsN(KsN〉KsP),说明四尾栅藻对磷的亲和性高于氮。与四尾栅藻最大现存量(X)呈高度线性相关时的总氮质量浓度范围为0.50-32.0 mg.L-1,总磷质量浓度范围为0.02-1.0 mg.L-1。四尾栅藻特定增长率(μ)连续增加的总氮质量浓度范围为0.50-4.0 mg.L-1,总磷质量浓度范围为0.02-0.20 mg.L-1。  相似文献

Palaemon serratus Pennant larvae from females caught near Roscoff (France) or the Bay of Biscay in 1983, were reared in the laboratory. From hatching to the first stage after metamorphosis, the larvae were exposed to zinc and cadmium introduced separately or together into the rearing medium. At the end of experimental contamination, the concentrations of the two metals in the organisms were determined. The level of zinc in organisms was mainly independent of its concentration in the water, suggesting that the bioaccumulation of this essential trace element is controlled by some physiological process. The accumulation of cadmium in the larvae paralleled the overloads of this metal in the water. Increased zinc concentrations in water have little or no effect on the cadmium levels in organisms. The most important interaction between these two metals is an antagonism exerted by cadmium on the biological uptake of zinc.  相似文献

Summary A model of colony growth and foraging in the honey bee (Apis mellifera L.) is presented. It is assumed that summer workers choose a foraging strategy that maximizes colony population by the end of the season subject to the constraint that enough nectar has been stored to sustain the adult population overwinter. The optimal foraging strategy is derived with respect to the number of flowers visited during one foraging trip. A forager that visits many flowers collects a substantial amount of nectar but the probability that the worker returns alive from the excursion decreases accordingly. Using dynamic modelling, I explore the effects on colony growth of colony population, colony energy requirements and mortality rate while foraging. The model shows that when the expected rate of increase in nectar reserves is low, for instance in small colonies or when mortality rate rises rapidly with foraging intensity, workers collect more nectar during each foraging trip. The increase in foraging activity is realized at the expense of colony growth. The main finding is that depending on colony status the foraging strategy that maximizes worker population implies visits to almost any number of flowers. This is in sharp contrast to predictions from traditional foraging models where foraging intensity is assumed to cluster around values that maximize net rate or efficiency. The model suggests that strategies that cluster around rate and efficiency maximization should be viewed as particular solutions to a more general problem.  相似文献

Fine mesh enclosures (0.9 m2 in basal area, 1 m high, with 100 µm mesh) and a jet-net retrieval system were developed to test the influence of juvenile prawn stocking density on growth rates in (1) different months (April and October/November) and (2) different types of intertidal seagrass beds in the Embley River estuary of tropical Australia. Small juvenile tiger prawns (3-6 mm in carapace length, CL) were stocked in enclosures at densities of 4-32 prawns per enclosure (4.4-35.5 prawns m-2) on a high biomass seagrass bed (about 70 g m-2 of mostly Enhalus acoroides) and one with low biomass (about 10 g m-2 of mostly Halodule uninervis). After 2-3 weeks in the enclosures, recovery rates, and hence possibly survival, were greater on the high biomass Enhalus than on the low biomass Halodule. However, not all fish and crustaceans could be excluded from the enclosures. Growth rates were twice as fast on the high biomass Enhalus than on the low biomass Halodule. It is likely that the high biomass Enhalus, with its greater surface area, supported more epiphytic flora and fauna and reduced the potential for interference competition between prawns, compared with the low biomass Halodule. Growth rates on Enhalus were significantly faster at a stocking density of 4 prawns per enclosure (1.3 mm CL week-1) than at a stocking density of 16 and 32 prawns per enclosure (both 0.8 mm CL week-1), and did not differ significantly between April and October/November (temperatures were about 30°C at both times). The mean growth rate at 8 prawns per enclosure (1.1 mm CL week-1) did not differ significantly from those at 4, 16 and 32 prawns per enclosure. These results from two seagrass beds suggest that the carrying capacity for juvenile tiger prawns was greater in the high biomass Enhalus than the low biomass Halodule bed.  相似文献

利用浮游植物荧光仪(phyto-PAM)研究了不同Cu2+浓度不同时间(12、24、36和48 h)处理后,斜生栅藻Scendesmus obliquus生长及叶绿素荧光特性等的变化.测定的主要参数有:PS Ⅱ最大光能转化效率(Fv/Fm),PS Ⅱ实际光能转化效率(φPSⅡ=Yield),PSⅡ潜在活性(Fv/Fo),最大相对电子传递效率(rETRmax,即Pm),光能利用效率(α)和细胞密度(A650nm值),叶绿素a、叶绿素b及胡萝卜素含量.结果表明:高浓度Cu2+处理(20~010 μamolμmol·L-1)下,Fv/Fm、Yield、Fv/Fo、rETR、α以及细胞密度等参数随着胁迫时间延长,数值下降幅度显著,叶绿素a、叶绿素b和类胡萝卜素含量也明显下降,低浓度Cu2+处理(0~10 μml·L-1)时上述参数变化不显著.可见,高浓度Cu2+(40~100μmol·L-1)处理对斜生栅藻有显著的胁迫抑制作用,低浓度Cu2+处理(0~10 μmol·L-1)对其影响不明显.  相似文献

尖刺拟菱形藻Pseudo-nitzschiapungensHalse是我国沿海常见的赤潮生物。通过对采集和分离于珠江口大亚湾海域的尖刺拟菱形藻藻种,在实验室条件下,研究不同浓度氮、磷等营养盐限制下该藻生长增殖的关系和特征,以及氮磷比(c(N)/c(P))变化等对该藻生长的影响。实验结果表明:尖刺拟菱形藻对氮、磷的依赖性较强,随浓度的变化而变化,属于营养依赖型藻类。实验进一步发现,尖刺拟菱形藻的生长对氮、磷的需求并不是越多越好,而要求有一定的比例范围,得出c(N)/c(P)在10~32范围内有相对较大的生长,而当c(N)/c(P)<5或c(N)/c(P)>100时,尖刺拟菱形藻的生长明显受到抑制。  相似文献

通过盆栽试验,研究了在CK、5、10和20 mg·kg-1 4个不同镉处理浓度下,水稻生长发育农艺指标和部分品质指标的变化,同时分析了不同生育期水稻根系活力和伤流液中镉含量的变化规律.结果表明,淹水条件下,镉对水稻产生生育障碍的浓度比较高.土镉20.84 mg-kg-1时,水稻的经济产量减产超过10%,同时,糙米中直链淀粉的含量也显著增加.当土壤镉含量为4.48 mg·kg-1时,糙米中镉含量显著增加而蛋白质含量显著减少.在水稻不同的生长发育期,根系活力与伤流液中镉的含量表现出相同的变化趋势.伤流液中镉在营养生长阶段吸收最大,且与土壤中的镉呈线性关系.  相似文献

Documented evidence of the suitability of various artificial light sources for the culture of unicellular algae is scarce. This paper reports the results of a comparison of the growth rates of 5 species of marine unicellular algae at various light intensities produced by an incandescent filament source or daylight fluorescent tubes. Under light saturating conditions the maximum growth rate achieved by each species was the same under each artificial source. Under sub-optimal intensities, no difference in the growth rates under the 2 sources was detected in the case of Phaeodactylum tricornutum, Chlorella ovalis or Monochrysis lutheri. However, under these conditions both Brachiomonas submarina and Dunaliella primolecta required higher intensities of incident illumination from the fluorescent source than from the incandescent source to maintain a particular relative growth rate.  相似文献

为了揭示钾浓度对植物生长发育和次生代谢产物——精油累积的影响特性及其内在关系,采用水培方法,以日本园试配方中钾含量为标准1K,设计1/8K、1/4K、1/2K、1K和2K处理,研究了不同钾浓度对茴香Foeniculum vulgare Mill.生长发育、精油含量和组分的影响.结果表明:不同钾浓度处理对植株形态(茴香分枝数、节数和花序数)、生物量(地上部鲜质量、全株鲜质量和全株干质量)、碳、氮含量(全氮、蛋白氮、全碳、可溶性糖、C/N)、精油含量、单株精油产量和色素含量(Chl.a、Chl.b、CAR.、Chl.a+b、Chl.a/b)影响显著,综合认为1K为利于茴香初生代谢产物累积(生长发育)的最佳处理,而1/4K、1/8K和1K为利于次生代谢产物累积(精油含量)的较好处理;相关分析表明,精油含量与全碳含量(r=0.72)、可溶性糖含量(r=0.70)成极显著正相关;单株精油产量与全氮含量(r=0.49)呈显著正相关.不同钾浓度处理茴香精油均鉴定出23种成分,其中17种成分的相对含量差异显著.精油第一主要成分反式-茴香脑含量为74.75%~79.15%,第二主要成分柠檬烯含量为8.25%~14.81%,第三主要成分莳萝芹菜脑相对含量2.04%~3.82%,处理间均差异显著.结论:钾浓度不但影响茴香的生长发育,还影响着茴香次生代谢产物精油的含量、产量和成分组成比例;适宜的钾浓度(1K)可以实现茴香初生代谢产物累积(生长发育)与次生代谢产物累积(精油产量)均高的结果.  相似文献

The talitrid amphipod Uhlorchestia spartinophila lives in close association with standing-dead leaves of the smooth cordgrass Spartina alterniflora Loisel in salt marshes along the Atlantic coast of North America. This study probed the strength of the trophic link between the amphipod population and the decomposition process in this detrital-based ecosystem. We measured survival, growth and reproductive output in groups of amphipods reared for 6 wk on five diets derived from sheath and blade portions of S. alterniflora leaves just prior to (senescent) and during (dead) decomposition. In unfed treatments, the daily specific mortality rate was 0.391 and starved amphipods survived no longer than 11 d. Among the fed treatments, a diet of senescent sheaths resulted in the lowest survival (20%) and yielded no offspring. Groups fed senescent blades, dead sheaths, dead blades and unwashed dead sheaths had survival rates of 56 to 84% and produced 5.0 to 12.5 offspring replicate−1. Sex ratio usually favored females, but approached unity in treatments with high overall survival, suggesting that quality of available food resources may influence sex ratio in this species. Mean specific growth rates (mm mm−1 d−1) ranged from 0.013 to 0.016, and matched previous estimates of growth from field populations. Overall ecological performance (survival + growth + reproduction) was similar for all food treatments, except senescent sheaths, which yielded a final mean (±SD) dry biomass (0.4 ± 0.42 mg replicate−1) of amphipods significantly lower than that of other diets (1.7 ± 0.81 to 2.6 ± 0.69 mg replicate−1). Natural diets derived from decomposing cordgrass leaves can fulfill the nutritional requirements of U. spartinophila populations, but variation in initial amounts of living fungal biomass among the five experimental diets only partially explained the responses of amphipods in our experiment. Structural characteristics and variation in rates of fungal occupation within different portions of cordgrass leaves may affect the amphipod's ability to access plant production made available by decomposers. 采用土培的方法,研究了不同Cd添加水平(0、5、10、20、30、60 mg.kg-1,以CK,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5表示)对水稻分蘖期、孕穗期和抽穗期叶绿素、可溶性蛋白质、丙二醛(MDA)、总巯基(-SH)、谷胱甘肽(GSH)、植物络合素(PCs)含量以及水稻叶片中超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)、过氧化物酶(POD)、过氧化氢酶(CAT)活性的影响。结果表明,叶片中Cd的含量随生长时期的延长而增加;T1处理时,水稻3个时期中叶绿素a、叶绿素b、叶绿素a+b含量最高,表明低质量分数Cd有利于水稻的生长;而T4和T5处理显著降低了叶绿素含量(P〈0.05)。Cd对不同生育时期抗氧化酶的影响不一,对分蘖期SOD、POD、CAT活性影响较明显,而对孕穗期和抽穗期SOD、POD、CAT活性以及可溶性蛋白质含量影响不显著(P〉0.05)。高质量分数Cd提高了叶片中MDA含量,在T5处理时,MDA含量在分蘖期、孕穗期和抽穗期分别为对照的1.9倍、4.5倍和4.6倍。水稻不同生育时期总-SH、GSH、PCs含量随着Cd处理质量分数的增加而增加,表明Cd处理诱导了水稻PCs的解毒机制。  相似文献

采用形态鉴定及基于ITS及rbcL序列构建ML系统发育树对采自云南省姚安县及南华县的10种叶状地衣中分离纯化培养的共生藻进行分析研究。鉴定结果表明5个编号分别为Z1、Z4、Z5、Z6、Z9的树生地衣共生藻样品鉴定为念珠藻目(Nostocales)念珠藻科(Nostocaceae)念珠藻属(Nostoc);2个土生地衣共生藻样品Z2、Z10鉴定为四孢藻目(Tetrasporales)胶球藻科(Coccomyxaceae)胶球藻属(Coccomyxa);3个石生地衣分离藻样品Z3、Z7、Z8鉴定为绿球藻目(Chlorococcales)栅藻科(Scenedesmaceae)链带藻属(Desmodesmus)。另外从地衣采集地及分子系统分析结果可以看出,尽管Z1、Z5、Z9分别是从采自不同区域(姚安县及南华县)的地衣中分离纯化的,但亲缘关系最近;同样Z4、Z6亲缘关系最近;Z2、Z10亲缘关系最近,Z7、Z8亲缘关系最近。所以地衣共生菌与共生藻的共生关系与其生存的地理区域关系不大,但却和其生长基质有明显的相关性。  相似文献

The essential oils of the leaves and fruits from bay (Laurus nobilis L.) grown in Antakya, Yayladagi and Samandagi were isolated by solvent extraction and analysed by capillary gas chromatography (GC), gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS). In Antakya, Yayladagi and Samandagi the chemical compositions of the fruits and leaves were similar according to qualitative and quantitative analysis. Although in both fruits and leaves the major component was found to be 1.8-Cineole a concentration of about 50% compared with essential oils. The composition of the essential oil from the leaves has high content of 1.8-Cineole, Sabinene and alpha-Terpinyl acetate, but a low content of a-Pinene, alpha-Phellandrene and trans-/beta-osimen. 1.8-Cineole was found major component of the leaves essential oil collected from Samandagi (59.94%) which is sea coast of region. Interestingly alpha-Pinene, beta-Pinene, alpha-Phellandrene, 1.8-Cineole and trans-beta-osimen were found the major components of fruits of Laurus nobilis L. harvested from Antakya, Yayladagi and Samandagi Trans-beta-osimen was detected as the major component of fruits essential oil collected again from Samandagi (28.35%)  相似文献

在实验室采用发芽试验的方法研究了油菜Brassicacampestris根系分泌物对小麦、油菜、蚕豆和玉米种子活力、幼苗生长发育及生理生化特性造成的化感效应。结果表明,油菜根系分泌物的化感累加作用对不同作物种子发芽率、幼苗芽长、芽质量、根长、根质量、根系活力以及幼芽过氧化物酶(POD)活性和丙二醛(MDA)含量均具有显著影响,其化感效应对小麦的影响程度最弱,其中对小麦的种子发芽率、幼苗根长、芽干物质量、POD活性和根系活力以及各作物幼芽细胞膜的毒害程度均表现出促进作用,而对小麦幼苗其它生长特性以及油菜、蚕豆和玉米幼苗的所有生长特性均表现为抑制作用,表明油菜根系分泌物对不同作物及不同生长特性的化感效应具有不同的选择性。因此,合理搭配油菜作物的间、套、轮作是其夺取优质、高产栽培的关键技术。  相似文献

模拟研究了沉水植物狐尾藻Myriophyllum spicatum L、轮叶黑藻Hydrilla verticillata L和金鱼藻Ceratophyllum demersum L在中、富两种营养水平下的生长及生理特性.研究结果表明,在45 d的培养过程中,狐尾藻、轮叶黑藻和金鱼藻在中营养(TN1.86 mg·L-1;TP0.087 mg·L-1)和富营养(TN2.47 mg·L-1;TP0.16 mg·L-1)水平下的单株最大生物量分别是0.92、0.27、1.11、0.56、0.41和0.87 g,狐尾藻和金鱼藻在中营养水平下单株最大生物量分别较富营养水平下高出39%和22%,而黑藻在中营养水平下单株最大生物量较富营养水平下低了51%,表明狐尾藻和金鱼藻在中营养水平下的生长较黑藻好.通过对3种沉水植物可溶性蛋白和叶绿素质量分数的分析发现,黑藻在中富两种营养水平下,质量分数较低且波动平稳,金鱼藻和狐尾藻可溶性蛋白和叶绿素质量分数持续升高,表明这两种沉水植物对水体中营养盐的耐受能力较黑藻强.金鱼藻超氧歧化酶(SOD)活性、过氧化物酶(peroxidase)活性和丙二醛(MDA)含量在试验后期上升速度加快,且富营养水平下金鱼藻MDA质量分数的最大值是中营养水平下最大值的5倍,表明在中营养水平下金鱼藻已经受到明显胁迫,而在富营养水平下受到胁迫更为显著.在本试验条件下,黑藻生物量小,而金鱼藻SOD活性、POD活性和MDA质量分数变化幅度大,在试验后期急速上升,表明这两种沉水植物受到的营养盐胁迫较狐尾藻大,而狐尾藻在中营养水平下的耐营养盐胁迫能力较强.  相似文献

The nutritional value of Artemia sp. as food for marine fish and crustacean larvae has been linked to the level of its polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) content. Experiments in August 1984 were conducted to determine the effects of various artificial diets and algae on fatty acid composition of PUFA-deficient Artemia sp. (Utah GSL strain) and their resulting value as food for postlarvae of the prawn Penaeus monodon (Fabricius). Nauplii of the brine shrimp were grown on extracts of corn, copra, soybean and rice bran containing precursors (C18) to long-chain PUFA and also on algal species containing different levels of long-chain PUFA (C20). The nauplii were then used as food for P. monodon postlarvae. The results revealed that absence of C20 polyunsaturates from the feeds and their presence in the algae were reflected in the polyunsaturated fatty acid content of the tissues of Artemia sp. When fed with brine shrimp fed on algae, P. monodon displayed better postlarval survival and significantly higher growth; related to the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids in Artemia sp. A practical feeding approach in prawn hatcheries would be to grow Artemia sp. on a cheap diet such as rice bran, and then to enhance its nutritional value with a diet high in PUFA prior to harvesting, in order to improve hatchery production.  相似文献
