The formation of toluene in municipal anaerobic primary and secondary sludge digestion processes was investigated. Experiments were carried out in a large laboratory-scale reactor using sludge from a primary settling tank of a municipal treatment plant. It was found that toluene was produced in the supernatant in relatively large concentrations for almost all cases tested. The concentration of toluene varied and was found to depend on the stage of the anaerobic process. During the acidity phase, which is the first stage of anaerobic digestion, an increase of toluene concentration was observed, while in the transition period, from the acidity phase to methanogenesis, the toluene concentration decreased. It was concluded that biosynthesis of toluene occurs in the acidogenic phase, while biodegradation was prevalent in the methanogenic stage. Depending on the type of experiments, an increase of toluene from a base value of approximately 200 microg/L up to 20,000 and 42,000 microg/L was measured in the first stage of anaerobic digestion. In the subsequent methane-production stage of digestion, the estimated rate of toluene decrease (biodegradation) varied from 400 to 900 microg/L-d.  相似文献

为探讨直接生物法处理环氧氯丙烷废水的可行性,对其活性污泥驯化过程和生物降解性能进行了研究。结果表明,经过长时间的驯化,活性污泥能够适应高盐度环境。污泥驯化过程中,污泥浓度保持稳定,含盐量从0.3%增加到3%,微生物的活性和耗氧速率随之降低,COD的去除率由96%下降至75%左右。同时,对环氧氯丙烷废水的生物降解动力学进...  相似文献

Transformation of all 19 chlorophenol (CP) isomers was investigated in a laboratory anaerobic methanogenic sludge that had not been exposed to synthetic chemicals. Concentration of CP was analyzed over time to calculate disappearance rate constants using first-order reaction kinetics and all possible CP degradation pathways were estimated. The rate constants ranged between 0.46 x 10(-3) and 0.161 day(-1). CPs were transformed via dechlorination. The chlorine atom at the ortho-position was the most easily dechlorinated, whereas dechlorination rate at the para-position was lowest. The overall pathways of CP transformation were much less diverse than that we previously found for contaminated sediment. The Dolfing hypothesis of microbial selection of the most thermodynamically favorable pathways was not applicable for CP transformation in this study as well as previous study performed by our group.  相似文献

The contribution of fenitrothion and its microbial metabolites to the mutagenicity of a fenitrothion-containing solution was investigated during anaerobic biodegradation. Although a mixed culture of bacteria obtained from a paddy field degraded fenitrothion and reduced its concentration from 4.6 to 0.1 mg/l in 6 days, the indirect mutagenicity of the solution in Salmonella strain YG1029 increased. This increase was found to be partially due to amino-fenitrothion generated during the biodegradation. In addition, other unidentified metabolites contributed to the mutagenicity. In contrast, the indirect mutagenicity in strain YG1042, which was initially large because of fenitrothion, then decreased, and increased again. This increase in mutagenicity was also due to amino-fenitrothion and other unidentified metabolites. The mutagenicity in strains YG1029 and YG1042 decreased after day 6. The greatest contribution of amino-fenitrothion to the mutagenicity was calculated to be 73% and 61% in YG1029 and YG1042 on day 3 of incubation, respectively. That of unidentified metabolites was calculated at 49% and 61% on day 20, respectively. Therefore, because not all the toxic metabolites of a compound can be identified, it is important to evaluate the toxicity of a whole solution in a bioassay such as the Ames assay rather than deducing the toxicity of the solution from the combined toxicities of known metabolites.  相似文献

Phthalic acid esters (PAE) are commonly found in the sludge generated in the wastewater treatment plants. Anaerobic digestion followed by land application is a common treatment and disposal practice of sludge. To date, many studies exist on the anaerobic biodegradation rates of PAE, especially of the easily biodegradable ones, whereas the higher molecular weight PAE have reported to be non-biodegradable under methanogenic conditions. Furthermore, there is no information on the effect of the PAE on the performance of the anaerobic digesters treating sludge. In this study, the anaerobic biodegradation of di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), di-ethyl phthalate (DEP) and di-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) was investigated and their relative rates of anaerobic degradation were calculated. Also, the biological removal of PAE during the anaerobic digestion of sludge in bench-scale digesters was investigated using DBP and DEHP as model compounds of one biodegradable and one recalcitrant PAE respectively. The degradation of all the PAE tested in this study (DEP, DBP and DEHP) is adequately described by first-order kinetics. Batch and continuous experiments showed that DEP and DBP present in sludge are rapidly degraded under mesophilic anaerobic conditions (a first-order kinetic constant of 8.04 x 10(-2) and 13.69 x 10(-2)-4.35 day(-1) respectively) while DEHP is degraded at a rate between one to two orders of magnitude lower (0.35 x 10(-2)-3.59 x 10(-2) day(-1)). It is of high significance that experiments with anaerobic sludge of different origin (US and Europe) showed that degradation of DEHP occurs under methanogenic conditions. Accumulation of high levels of DEHP (more than 60 mg/l) in the anaerobic digester has a negative effect on DBP and DEHP removal rates as well as on the biogas production.  相似文献

A reliable prediction of the behaviour of organic trace compounds in activated sludge plants requires an accurate input of the biodegradation kinetics. Often these kinetics are extrapolated from the results of standardised biodegradation tests. However, these tests generally are not designed to yield kinetic information and do not reflect the conditions in activated sludge plants. To overcome these problems a new test method was developed which is referred to as a 'by-pass' test. The test methodology is explained and examples are given for three compounds: the C(12)-homologue of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate, nitrilotriacetic acid and toluene. More experience with the test is required, particularly with respect to selection of the proper test settings, which are compound related. The test is a suitable tool in a research environment, for example to investigate the effect of plant operational parameters on the biodegradation kinetics.  相似文献

实验以被石油污染的土壤为出发菌源,以润滑油为唯一碳源,经过筛选分离得到4株对润滑油具有降解能力的菌株。经过形态观察、生理生化实验初步鉴定发现,4株菌株分别为黄单胞菌属(Xanthomonas)、动胶菌属(Azotobac-ter)、假单胞菌属(Pseudomonas)和黄杆菌属(Flavobacterium),其中菌株G4为黄杆菌属,其润滑油降解效率最高。研究菌株G4降解性能的影响因素发现,实验中的各因素对润滑油降解率的影响大小依次为:温度>葡萄糖浓度>硫酸铵浓度>pH值。在温度20~40℃下,菌株G4对润滑油均具有一定的降解能力。在适宜的温度范围中,pH值5.0~9.0范围内,菌株G4的润滑油降解率随pH值的变化很小,且均在80%以上。菌株G4在以润滑油为唯一碳源时的最佳培养条件为:温度30℃,pH值为9.0,硫酸铵浓度为1.0 g/L。在此条件下培养36 h,100 mL的G4培养液对200μL润滑油的降解率可达84.6%。  相似文献

Mixed primary sewage sludge was incubated anaerobically with and without azide addition to prevent biological activity. The behaviour of 1,3-, 1,4- and 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,3,5-, 1,2,4- and 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene, 1,2,3,4- and 1,2,4,5-tetrachlorobenzene, hexachlorobenzene, and cis- and trans-permethrin was examined to determine their potential removal during anaerobic digestion. All the chlorobenzenes were removed to varying extents over 32 days of incubation, ranging from 25% removal for 1,3,5-trichlorobenzene to 80% removal for 1,4-dichlorobenzene. Biodegradation may have been responsible for the reductions in 1,3- and 1,4-dichlorobenzene and 1,2,4- and 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene as there was no significant removal of these compounds in azide treated sludge. The removal over 32 days of cis- and transpermethrin was 87% and 96% respectively. These removals were attributed to a chemical or physical process.  相似文献

This paper describes the effect of the nutrients iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), zinc (Zn), cobalt (Co), and molybdenum (Mo) on biomass evolution in an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor metabolizing synthetic sulfate-laden organics at varying operating conditions during a period of 540 days. A bench-scale model of a UASB reactor was operated at a temperature of 35 degrees C for a chemical oxygen demand-to-sulfate (COD/SO4(2-)) ratio of 8.59 to 2.0, a sulfate loading rate of 0.54 to 1.88 kg SO4(2-)/m3 x d, and an organic loading rate of 1.9 to 5.75 kg COD/m3 x d. Biomass was characterized in terms of total methanogenic activity, acetate-utilizing methanogenic activity, total sulfidogenic activity, acetate-utilizing sulfidogenic activity, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Nickel and cobalt limitation appears to affect the activity of hydrogen-utilizing methane-producing bacteria (HMPB) significantly without having an appreciable effect on the activity of acetate-utilizing methane-producing bacteria (AMPB). Nickel and cobalt supplementation resulted in increased availability and, consequently, restoration of biomass activity and process performance. Iron limitation and sulfidogenic conditions resulted in the growth of low-density, hollow, fragile granules that washed out, causing process instability and performance deterioration. Iron and cobalt supplementation indicated significant stimulation of AMPB with slight inhibition of HMPB. Examination of biomass through SEM indicated a population shift with dominance of sarcina-type organisms and the formation of hollow granules. Granule disintegration was observed toward the end of the study.  相似文献

以某污水处理厂二沉池好氧污泥为接种污泥,采用逐步提高盐度和稳定盐度2种方法对活性污泥进行耐盐性驯化培养,考察驯化结果表明,前一种方法更有利于耐盐菌的培养。对比不同盐度情况下各项指标的去除效果得出:本实验污泥适宜盐度为1%。使用稳定进水盐度的方法,出水指标及各指标的去除率均低于逐步提高盐度法,且镜检结果表明大量微生物死亡。  相似文献

研究了以焦化废水中典型的含氮杂环化合物吡啶、吲哚作为单一受试物质下,厌氧污泥的降解动力学。并通过应用聚合酶链式反应-变性梯度凝胶电泳(PCR-DGGE)技术,分析对比降解上述2种受试物质的厌氧污泥微生物多样性的差异,从分子生物学水平上阐明厌氧污泥微生物多样性的差异以及不同专性菌群的产生是导致不同受试物质下厌氧污泥降解速率快慢的主要原因之一。结果表明,在2种受试物质下厌氧污泥体系中均出现了Methanogenic prokaryote,说明上述系统中的厌氧污泥产甲烷活性良好,是产甲烷厌氧污泥。厌氧污泥对2种受试物质降解的容易程度为吡啶>吲哚。  相似文献

The mutagenicity of chlornitrofen (CNP)-containing solutions has been reported to increase during anaerobic biodegradation. In the present study, the fate of this increased mutagenicity under subsequent aerobic and anaerobic incubation conditions was investigated using two Salmonella tester strains, YG 1024 (a frameshift-detecting strain) and YG 1029 (a base-pair-substitution-detecting strain). Mutagenicity for both YG 1024 and YG 1029 strains increased during nine-day anaerobic biodegradation. During subsequent anaerobic incubation, the increased mutagenicity decreased gradually for YG 1029 but did not change significantly for YG 1024. By contrast, the increased mutagenicity decreased rapidly after the conversion to aerobic incubation for both YG 1024 and YG 1029 strains. The rapid decrease in mutagenicity during aerobic incubation was due to decreases, not only in an identified mutagenic metabolite (CNP-amino) but also in unidentified mutagenic metabolites.  相似文献

从渤海油田含油污泥中分离出3株石油烃降解菌,通过16S rRNA基因序列鉴定RS1、RS2和RS3分别为棒状杆菌、短杆菌和假单胞菌。经单因素实验确定,3株细菌对石油的最适降解条件分别为37℃、盐度3%、pH 8;32℃、盐度1%、pH 8;42℃、盐度1%、pH 6。降解实验结果表明,3株细菌30 d内对含油污泥中总石油烃的降解率分别为39.69%、31.13%和53.29%,而混合菌的降解效果明显高于单一菌株,降解率为58.08%;不同菌株对原油中不同组分的降解能力不同,其中,RS1对饱和烃的降解率最高,达20.74%,RS3对芳香烃的降解率最高,达到8.08%;GC-MS分析表明,混合菌对n-C12~n-C34等正构烷烃均有明显降解,且对萘、苊、屈和苯并[b]荧蒽等多环芳烃的降解能力较强。  相似文献

回顾了硝基芳香化合物和偶氮化合物在厌氧条件下的生物脱毒、转化和矿化作用的研究成果。这些研究表明 ,由于硝基和偶氮基具有强烈的吸电子性 ,好氧条件下很难降解。但是 ,硝基和偶氮基芳香化合物在产甲烷菌群作用下较易还原脱毒 ,转化为相应的芳香胺类 ,其毒性要小几个数量级 ,因而有些毒性很高的芳香化合物废水可利用厌氧反应器处理 ,而且反应过程中发现一些芳香胺类化合物可被完全矿化 ,表明一些含氮芳香化合物可作为厌氧菌的碳源和能源 ,在厌氧条件下被完全生物降解。  相似文献

通过生物降解实验考察三氯乙烯(TCE)在苯酚驯化微生物中的共代谢降解性能,并进行动力学分析。结果表明,苯酚是TCE-苯酚共代谢过程必不可少的共代谢基质;TCE的共代谢降解与苯酚和TCE初始浓度有关。TCE在降解初期会出现一个短暂的迟滞期,TCE的大量降解要在苯酚被利用后才发生;高质量浓度TCE(>9mg/L)对共代谢降解有抑制作用。苯酚/TCE(质量比)在10~15以上时,苯酚菌对TCE的去除率较大。Haldane模型能够很好地拟合苯酚和TCE的比降解速率。动力学分析表明,微生物对苯酚的亲和力要大于TCE,苯酚对TCE共降解具有竞争性抑制作用,TCE对微生物存在毒性抑制作用;结果证实了生物降解实验的结论。  相似文献

通过比较不同的污泥驯化方法研究了活性污泥法处理蒽醌废水的可行性.结果表明,常规的CODCr负荷提升法需要50 d才可以驯化出活性污泥.在进水中添加1 g/L葡萄糖可以快速提高污泥浓度,但是驯化出的污泥活性很低,不能满足废水的处理要求.最好的方法是添加1 g/L葡萄糖和原废水交叉循环驯化法,第28天就可以驯化出高活性的污泥.在平均进水CODCr为1 050 mg/L、HRT为24 h的条件下,CODCr去除率达到95.6%.  相似文献

Slurry-phase biodegradation of weathered oily sludge waste   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
We assessed the biodegradation of a typical oily sludge waste (PB401) in Mexico using several regimes of indigenous microbial consortium and relevant bioremediation strategies in slurry-phase system. Abiotic loss of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in the PB401 was insignificant, and degradation rates under the various treatment conditions ranged between 666.9 and 2168.7 mg kg(-1) day(-1) over a 15 days reaction period, while viable cell count peaked at between log(10)5.7 and log(10)7.4 cfu g(-1). Biostimulation with a commercial fertilizer resulted in 24% biodegradation of the TPH in the oily waste and a corresponding peak cell density of log(10)7.4 cfu g(-1). Addition of non-indigenous adapted consortium did not appear to enhance the removal of TPH from the oily waste. It would appear that the complexities of the components of the alkylaromatic fraction of the waste limited biodegradation rate even in a slurry system.  相似文献
