Salinity is a serious environmental problem. Growing of plants like tomato can be solution for coping with soil salinity. For this purpose, response of tomato to salinity has been tested in the early growth stages. Characteristics of germination (percentage and period; length and fresh-dry weight of radicle and hypcotyl) and seedling (length and fresh-dry weight of root, shoot and whole plant; leaf number and area based on Relative Growth Rate); Na+ and K+ content of leaf; K+/Na+ rate of leaf has been studied at the 0, 50, 100 and 150 mM NaCl levels. Thus, it determined that tomato can be indicator for agricultural cultivation at the salinity environments at the early growth stages.  相似文献

The in vitro study was carried out to examine the toxicity of four commercially used pesticides (phorate, mancozeb, chlorpyrifos, and endosulfan) at the recommended dose (1X) and higher field doses (1.5X, 2X, 2.5X, and 3X) on plant growth-promoting activities of Burkholderia sp. strain L2, isolated from pesticide-treated rhizosphere of Lycopersicon esculentum. At the recommended dose, level of toxicity of all the pesticides to phosphate solubilization activity and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) production was less detrimental as compared to exceeding doses. At maximum dose rate of each pesticide, the percentage decrease in phosphate solubilization and IAA production over control was found in order of chlorpyrifos < mancozeb < endosulfan < phorate. Present study proves that Burkholderia sp. strain L2 could be used as a potential microbial inoculant in the agricultural soil having persistent pesticide residues.  相似文献

在太湖地区乌栅土上,利用大型原状土柱比较研究了不同尿素品种、施肥量(0、普通尿素150、300和包膜尿素100、150 kg·hm-2,以N计算)处理对稻季不同层次(30、65、80 cm)土壤氮素动态变化的影响.结果表明:所有处理渗漏水中NO3--N质量浓度均低于饮用水标准,常规施肥未显著增加氮的淋溶损失;各处理在不同层次土壤均发生反硝化作用;包膜尿素促进土壤反硝化强度,在65 cm和80 cm处尤为明显.施用包膜尿素可能增强浅层地下水的反硝化作用而降低水体NO3--N质量浓度.其影响机理及在对其它类型土壤上氮素淋失和反硝化的影响,值得进一步研究.  相似文献

The paper describes some results on copepod studies from two different areas in the middle Adriatic. The Maloston Bay is a naturally eutrophicated area, and the Kastela Bay is under a variety of influences of industrial wastes, agricultural wastes, food processing industry, shipyard, etc.

Although these two shallow areas are under the similar impact of sea‐water dynamics, as to the different levels of pollution, different consequences have been found to the copepod communities.  相似文献

Titanium dioxide photocatalysis, using 200 mgl−1 of TiO2, and photo-Fenton, using 20 mg l−1 of iron, were applied to the treatment of dimethoate dissolved in water at 50 mg l−1. A heterogeneous photocatalysis test was performed in a 35-l solar pilot plant with Compound Parabolic Collectors (CPCs) under natural illumination. A homogeneous photocatalysis test was performed in a different solar pilot plant with four CPC units and a total volume of 75 l. In this work total disappearance of dimethoate and 90% of mineralization were attained in both solar treatments. Treatment time, hydrogen peroxide consumption and ferric phosphate precipitation during photo-Fenton treatment were discussed. An erratum to this article can be found at  相似文献

Little is known about the changes in composition of brain lipids and fatty acids at different stages of development in fish. Wild Atlantic herring (Clupea harengus L.) were collected from Loch Linnhe and the Firth of Clyde, Scotland, from August 1990 to March 1991. Lipid class and fatty acid compositions of brain lipids were studied at four different stages of development: larvae at the end of the yolk sac stage, two juvenile stages and sexually mature adults. The total lipid content in brains increased during development, and larval brains contained higher proportions of neutral lipids and lower proportions of polar lipids than the brains of juvenile or adult herring. Increased proportions of polar lipids in juvenile and adult herring brains were mainly due to increased percentages of phosphatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), cerebrosides and sulphatides. The increase in the proportions of the glycolipid classes suggested increasing levels of myelination with development. In total lipids, saturated fatty acids generally decreased and monounsaturated fatty acids and dimethyl acetals (derived from PE-plasmalogen) increased from larvae to adults. However, the proportions of polyunsaturated fatty acids in individual phosphoglycerides were generally highest in juvenile stages, due mainly to increased 22:6n-3, and were lowest in adult fish. Relatively high percentages of 24:1 isomers were found in all the phosphoglycerides, but primarily PC, and these increased during development from larvae to adult. Fatty acids were distributed between individual phosphoglycerides with a characteristic pattern that did not change with development, although the relative amounts of individual fatty acids were altered. The variations and roles of the different lipid components of herring brain are discussed with respect to lipid compositions and functions in brains of other fishes and vertebrates.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In order to evaluate the ecological risk reductions of copper (Cu) and cadmium (Cd) and the change of nutrient contents and stoichiometry in a smelter-impacted farmland in Guixi, Jiangxi Province, China, with ~ 800?mg Cu kg?1 soil and 0.8?mg Cd kg?1 soil, an three years in situ experiment was conducted. The field trial consisted of 4 ×?5?m plots in a completely randomised block design. Hydroxyapatite was added at 10?g kg?1 soil and Sedum plumbizincicola, Elsholtzia splendens, and Pennisetum sp. were planted. Post-treatment soil and plant samples were collected annually and analysed for Cu and Cd bioaccessibility, soil carbon: nitrogen: phosphorus (C:N:P), and the stoichiometries of soil β-glucosidase (BG), N-acetylglucosaminidase (NAG), and acid phosphatase (AP) activity levels. The results indicated that the hydroxyapatite treatments significantly reduced Cu and Cd bioaccessibility as well as the ratio of C:P and N:P. Moreover, BG, NAG, and AP activity levels all increased relative to those in untreated soil. Plants may also influence soil BG, NAG, and AP activity. This study demonstrated that in situ Cu and Cd stabilisation by hydroxyapatite and phytoextraction is ecologically safe and can alter soil mineral nutrient ecological stoichiometry and enzyme activity.  相似文献

水稻不同生育期土壤砷形态分布特征及其生物有效性研究   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
采用田间原位试验和Tessier连续提取方法,在水稻(Oryza sativa L.)不同生育期研究了重金属复合污染高、中、低3个水平下的土壤砷的形态分布特征及其生物有效性。结果表明:在水稻不同生育期中,土壤各种形态的砷质量分数均表现为高污染水平土壤〉中等污染水平土壤〉低污染水平土壤;土壤中砷在水稻整个生育期均以残留态为主,占90%以上,交换态砷所占比例最低,不到0.5%;不同形态砷之间大都显著正相关,但是两种有效性较高的砷形态(交换态和碳酸盐结合态)与有机态砷之间的相关性较差;土壤砷的生物有效性表现为高污染水平土壤〉中等污染水平土壤〉低污染水平土壤,且随着水稻生育期的延长,土壤砷的生物有效性逐渐升高。  相似文献

Microbial associations may influence the negative effects of potentially toxic elements on plants. In a greenhouse experiment, the growth; biochemical response; and Pb, Fe, and Zn uptake of Onopordum acanthium L. were investigated in response to inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, AMF (a mixture of Funneliformis mosseae, Rhizophagus irregularis, and Rhizophagus fasciculatus) and plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria, PGPR (a mixture of Pseudomonas species including P. putida, P. fluorescens, and P. aeruginosa) at increased Pb levels in soil. The treatments were arranged as a factorial experiment based on a randomised complete block design. Results revealed that inoculation with AMF and PGPR decreased Pb toxicity in plants. Inoculated plants with AMF and PGPR had higher shoot and root dry weight compared with the non-inoculated plants. In this study, AMF and PGPR inoculation led to a significant increase (P?≤?.05) in chlorophyll a, b, chlorophyll a+b, carotenoid, proline, and relative water content of plants. Furthermore, AMF and PGPR inoculation likely played a more important role in growth and Pb uptake in O. acanthium L. Our results suggest that AMF and Pseudomonas bacteria could be effective bio-inoculants for enhancing the plant growth and Pb uptake by inhibiting the adverse effects of Pb in O. acanthium.  相似文献

The costs of reproduction are widely recognised as a major selective force in the evolution of various behavioural and life-history characteristics. In particular, the behaviour of reproductively active animals is likely to change when breeding increases risk of predation. We investigated the effect of an experimentally derived threat on the vigilance and escape behaviour of female Trichosurus caninus with and without dependent offspring and at different stages of offspring development. Females with offspring showed a heightened response to the threat in comparison to females without offspring. In addition, females with offspring displayed a stronger response at earlier stages of their offsprings development.Communicated by P. Bednekoff  相似文献
