Persistence behavior of insecticides chlorpyriphos, profenofos, triazophos, cypermethrin, and deltamethrin following the use of three combination formulations Action 505 (chlorpyriphos?+?cypermethrin), Roket 44EC (profenofos?+?cypermethrin), and Anaconda Plus (triazophos?+?deltamethrin) was studied in cabbage following the spray application at the recommended and double doses. Bio-efficacy of these formulations was also evaluated against mustard aphids (Lipaphis erysimi Kaltenbach) and diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella L.). The residues of different insecticides persisted for 5–8 days at low dose and 8–12 days at high dose. The residues dissipated with time and 87–100 % dissipation was recorded on the 8th day. The half-life values varied from 0.4 to 1.6 days. Based on the acceptable daily intake (ADI) values, a safe waiting period of 1 day has been suggested for the formulations Action 505 and Roket 44EC and 3 days for Anaconda Plus at the recommended dose of application. Action (1.6 L/ha) treatment was found to be the best as it significantly reduced the diamondback moth (DBM) (~60 %) and aphid population (~70 %) besides giving the highest yield (170 % increase over control).  相似文献

Methomyl, S-methyl (EZ)-N-(methylcarbamoyloxy)thioacetimidate, is a systemic insecticide chosen for the management of shoot and fruit borer, Leucinodes orbonalis G. Codex Alimentarious Commission has proposed a maximum residue limit (MRL) of 0.2 mg kg???1 of methomyl, and there is a need to validate this value on eggplant. First + first-order model can explain the nonlinear dissipation pattern of methomyl conveniently in comparison to first-order kinetics. The preharvest intervals (PHI) of 27.3 and 35.3 days as obtained from first + first-order model for single and double doses would bring down the methomyl residue below MRL in actual practice. The respective half-lives were 6.6 and 7.8 days. On the other hand, first-order model suggests methomyl dissipated with a half-life value around 5 days and proposed PHIs of 6.57 and 8.57 days for single and double doses, which was far from reality. Hence, five different decontamination agents were chosen for the decontamination of methomyl from eggplant. Safety factors such as theoretical maximum daily intake and maximum permissible intake were used to evaluate risk assessment to human health. A 3-day waiting period for the both doses, following conventional agricultural practice and processing factor could not ensure sufficient margin of safety. Subjecting the data to a processing factor of 60% could not bring the residues below the proposed MRL by Codex. Methomyl is not found appropriate and effective for application in eggplant. Either the proposed MRL needs to be revised or good agricultural practice involving methomyl for plant protection in eggplant cultivation is questioned.  相似文献

The production of apples in Poland is the largest among the countries of the European Union, and therefore, the consumption of these fruits is high in our country. The aim of this study was to determine the presence of pesticide residues in Polish apples and to assess if these residues pose a risk to the health of the consumer. Furthermore, compliance with legal regulations concerning the use of plant protection products in crop cultivation was ascertained. Pesticide residues were found in 192 samples (61.5 % of tested samples). In six samples (1.9 %), residues exceeded maximum residue limits. Violations concerned the insecticides: indoxacarb, diazinon and fenitrothion. The highest long-term consumer exposure was found in the case of consumption of apples with diazinon residue for both groups, adults and toddlers [4 % acceptable daily intake (ADI), adults; 21 % ADI, toddlers]. The highest values of short-term exposure were obtained in the case of consumption of apples with indoxacarb [5 % acute reference dose (ARfD), adults; 27 % ARfD, toddlers] and fenitrothion (4 % ARfD, adults; 23 % ARfD, toddlers). Although fungicides are the pesticides found most often in apples, the consumption of apples with insecticide residues constitutes the greatest hazard to human health.  相似文献

Metaflumizone is a novel sodium channel blocker insecticide of semicarbazone class. It provides good to excellent control of most of the economically important lepidopterous pests and certain pests in the orders Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera, Isoptera, and Siphonaptera. Although metaflumizone has been marketed globally for several years and got registered in India in the year 2009, specifically for the control of DBM on cabbage, to our knowledge, no food safety aspects of metaflumizone residue on cabbage have ever been reported in the literature in India or elsewhere. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the persistence of metaflumizone on cabbage and soil, vis-a-vis its risk assessment, following two spray applications of metaflumizone 220 SC (Verismo®), each at recommended and double dose of 200 and 400 g?a.i.?ha?1 respectively. Initial residue deposits of metaflumizone on cabbage were 0.46 and 0.51 mg?kg?1 at recommended and 0.76 and 0.85 mg?kg?1 at double the recommended dose following the first spray and second spray application. The residues persisted beyond 5 days from both the treatments and dissipated with the half-life ranging from 1.7–2.1 days. Initial deposits of metaflumizone on soil ranged from 0.23–0.37 mg?kg?1 and degraded with a half life ranging from 4.0–4.8 days. No degradation product of metaflumizone was detected in cabbage and soil at any point of time. Soil samples collected from the treated field after 7 days were free from any residue of metaflumizone or its metabolites. A pre-harvest waiting period of 3 days after application was suggested based on calculation of theoretical maximum daily intake.  相似文献

In the environment, plants and animals in vivo, pesticides can be degraded or metabolized to form transformation products (TPs) or metabolites, which are even more toxic than parent pesticides. Hence, it was necessary to evaluate residue and risk of pesticides and their TPs (or metabolites). Here, a rapid, simple, and reliable method using QuEChERS and LC-MS/MS had been developed for simultaneous analysis of prothioconazole and its toxic metabolite, prothioconazole-desthio, in soil, wheat plant, straw, and grain. The average recoveries of prothioconazole and prothioconazole-desthio in four matrices ranged from 86 to 108% with relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 0.53–11.87% at three spiking levels. The method was successfully applied to investigate the dissipation and terminal residues of the two compounds in wheat field. It was shown that prothioconazole was rapidly degraded to prothioconazole-desthio, with half-lives below 5.82 days. Prothioconazole-desthio was slowly dissipated in soil and plant. The terminal residues of prothioconazole in wheat grain with a pre-harvest interval (PHI) of 21 or 28 days were below the maximum residue limits (MRLs) (0.1 mg/kg, Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC)). We also evaluated the intake risk of prothioconazole-desthio residues in wheat grain in China. For long-term intake assessment, the hazard quotients (HQ) ranged from 1.30 to 5.95%. For short-term intake assessment, the acute hazard indexes (aHI) ranged from 1.94 to 18.2%. It indicated that the intake risk of prothioconazole-desthio in wheat consumption was acceptable. Thus, the prothioconazole application on wheat with the scientific practices would not pose public health risk.  相似文献

Two independent field trials were performed in Guangdong and Hubei, China in 2011 to investigate the dissipation and residue levels of triforine in strawberry and soil. A fast and simple method using gas chromatography with electron capture detector was developed and validated to determine triforine levels in strawberry and soil. The average recovery of triforine in strawberry ranged from 87.46 to 104.32 % with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.72 to 4.54 %; that in soil ranged from 83.82 to 103.01 % with an RSD of 3.89 to 4.36 %. The limit of quantification of the proposed method was 0.01 mg/kg for both strawberry and soil. The results suggest that the triforine dissipation curves followed the first-order kinetic. The half-lives of triforine in strawberry from Guangdong and Hubei were 3.58 and 4.42 days, respectively; those in soil were 3.53 and 4.10 days, respectively. The terminal residues of triforine in strawberry ranged from 0.032 to 0.264 mg/kg at preharvest intervals of 0.5, 1, and 3 days. These values are lower than the maximum residue limit of 1 mg/kg in strawberry set by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.  相似文献

A supervised open field trial was conducted to evaluate the dissipation pattern and risk assessment of flubendiamide in gherkin fruits following foliar application of Fame 480 SC at 60 and 120 g a.i.?ha?1. Samples of gherkin fruits were drawn at different time intervals and quantified by HPLC-DAD. The maximum initial deposits of flubendiamide on gherkin were found to be 0.79 and 1.52 mg kg?1, respectively, at recommended and double the recommended doses. The dissipation pattern of flubendiamide followed a first-order kinetics with half-lives of 1.87 to 2.16 days at 60 and 120 g a.i.?ha?1, respectively. The limit of quantification of flubendiamide and desiodo flubendiamide was observed to be 0.01 mg kg?1 for gherkin fruit and soil substrates. Theoretical maximum residue contribution (TMRC) for flubendiamide was calculated and found to be well below the maximum permissible intake (MPI) on gherkin fruits. Thus, the application of flubendiamide at the recommended dose on gherkin fruits presents no human health risks and safe to consumers.  相似文献

Quizalofop ethyl, a phenoxy propionate herbicide, is used for postemergence control of annual and perennial grass weeds in broad-leaved crops in India. The experiments were designed to study the dissipation kinetics of quizalofop ethyl on onion for two seasons. A simple, rapid, and sensitive method for estimation of quizalofop ethyl residues in onion and soil was developed and validated. The recoveries of quizalofop ethyl residues from onion and soil at different spiking level range from 84.81 to 92.68 %. The limit of quantification of this method was found to be 0.01 μg g?1. The risk assessment through consumption of the onion in comparison to its acceptable daily intake which is an important parameter for the safety of the consumer was also evaluated. Standardized methodology supported by recovery studies was adopted to estimate residues of quizalofop ethyl on onion and soil. The average initial deposits of quizalofop ethyl on onion were observed to be 0.25 and 0.33 mg kg?1, following single application of the herbicide at 50 g active ingredient (a.i.) ha?1 during 2009 and 2010, respectively. The half-life values (T 1/2) of quizalofop ethyl on onion crop were worked out to be 0.85 and 0.79 days, respectively, during 2009 and 2010. At harvest time, the residues of quizalofop ethyl on onion and soil were found to be below the determination limit of 0.01 mg kg?1 following single application of the herbicide at 50 and 100 g a.i. ha?1 for both the periods.  相似文献

A modified LC-MS method for the analysis of mepiquat residue in wheat, potato, and soil was developed and validated. A hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatographic column has been successfully used to retain and separate the mepiquat. Mepiquat residue dynamics and final residues in supervised field trials at Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) conditions in wheat, potato, and soil were studied. The limits of quantification for mepiquat in all samples were all 0.007 mg kg?1, which were lower than their maximum residue limits. At fortification levels of 0.04, 0.2, and 2 mg kg?1 in all samples, recoveries ranged from 77.5 to 116.4 % with relative standard deviations of 0.4–7.9 % (n?=?5). The dissipation half-lives (T 1/2) of mepiquat in soil (wheat), wheat plants, soil (potato), and potato plants were 4.5–6.3, 3.0–5.6, 2.2–4.6, and 2.4–3.2 days, respectively. The final residues of mepiquat were below 0.153 mg kg?1 in soil (wheat), 0.052–1.900 mg kg?1 in wheat, below 0.072 mg kg?1 in soil (potato), and below 1.173 mg kg?1 in potato at harvest time. Moreover, pesticide risk assessment for all the detected residues was conducted. A maximum 0.0012 % of acceptable daily intake (150 mg kg?1) for national estimated daily intake indicated low dietary risk of these products.  相似文献

Dissipation of chlorpyriphos and cypermethrin in chilli was studied following three applications of a combination formulation of Nurelle-D 505 (chlorpyriphos 50 %?+?cypermethrin 5 %) at 1 and 2 L?ha?1 at an interval of 15 days. Residues of chlorpyriphos and cypermethrin in chilli were estimated by gas–liquid chromatography and confirmed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Half-life periods for chlorpyriphos were found to be 4.43 and 2.01 days, whereas for cypermethrin these values were observed to be 2.51 and 2.64 days at single and double the application rates, respectively. Residues of chlorpyriphos dissipated to more than 80 % after 10 days at both the dosages. However, residues of cypermethrin dissipated to the extent of more than 70 % in 7 days. Soil samples collected after 15 days of the last application did not show the presence of chlorpyriphos and cypermethrin at their respective determination limit of 0.01 mg?kg?1. The use of chlorpyriphos and cypermethrin mixture at the recommended dosage does not seem to pose any hazards to the consumers, and a waiting period of 1 day is suggested to reduce the risk before consumption of green chilli.  相似文献

Thiacloprid, a neonicotinoid insecticide with novel mode of action, is found to be effective against several lepidopteran as well as hemipteran pests. The present studies were carried out to observe the persistence pattern of thiacloprid on brinjal and to suggest suitable waiting period for the safety of consumers. Persistence of thiacloprid in brinjal was studied following three applications of thiacloprid (Alanto 240 SC) at 180 and 360 g a.i. ha?1 at 7 days interval. Residues of thiacloprid in brinjal were estimated by high-performance liquid chromatography and were confirmed by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry. The average initial deposits of thiacloprid were observed to be 0.48 and 1.05 mg?kg?1 on the brinjal fruit following third application of thiacloprid at recommended and double the recommended dosages, respectively. Half-life periods for thiacloprid were found to be 0.47 and 0.50 days at single and double the application rates, respectively. Residues of thiacloprid declined below its limit of quantification of 0.05 mg?kg?1 after 3 and 5 days, respectively, at recommended and double the recommended application rates. Therefore, the use of thiacloprid does not seem to pose any risk hazard and a waiting period of 1 day is suggested for safe consumption of brinjal fruits.  相似文献

Food safety is a global concern due to the increased use of pesticides in agriculture. In grapes, carbendazim is one of the frequently detected fungicides. However, it is amenable to biodegradation. In this study, we aimed to assess the degradation of carbendazim by four Bacillus subtilis strains, which had earlier shown potential for biocontrol of grape diseases. In liquid medium, each of the four strains, namely, DR-39, CS-126, TL-171, and TS-204, could utilize carbendazim as the sole carbon source. The half-life was minimized from 8.4 days in the uninoculated spiked control to 4.0–6.2 days by the four strains. In Thompson Seedless sprayed with carbendazim at 1.0 g L?1, the residue on grape berries in control was 0.44 mg kg?1 after 25 days of application, whereas in grapes treated with the four B. subtilis strains, the residues had decreased to 0.02 mg kg?1. The degradation kinetics showed low half-lives of 3.1 to 5.2 days in treated grapes as compared to 8.8 days in control. In inoculated soils, the half-lives were 5.9 to 7.6 days in autoclaved and 6.5 to 7.2 days in nonautoclaved soils as compared to 8.2 and 8.0 days in respective controls. The growth dynamics of these strains in all the three matrices was not affected by presence of carbendazim. Bacillus strains TS-204 and TL-171 showed higher degradation rate than the other two strains in all the three matrices and show promise for in situ biodegradation of carbendazim.  相似文献

This paper reports high levels and variability in arsenic (As) levels at locations identified as one of the highest As-contaminated locations in Pakistan. Groundwater pollution related to arsenic has been reported since many years in the areas lying in outskirts of District Lahore, Pakistan. A comparative study is done to determine temporal variations of As from three villages, i.e., Kalalanwala (KLW), Manga Mandi (MM), and Shamki Bhattian (SKB). Seventy-three percent of the 30 investigated samples ranging in depth from 20 to 200 m, show an increasing trend in variations of As concentration over a time span of 4 years and 87 % of samples exceeded the WHO standard of 10 μg/L for As while 77 % of samples have As concentration >50 μg/L (national standard). Further results indicate that high levels of As is accompanied with increase pH (r?=?0.8) favoring desorption of As from minerals at higher pH under oxidizing conditions. For health risk assessment of arsenic, the average daily dose, hazard quotient (HQ), and cancer risk were calculated. The residents of the studied areas had toxic risk index in the order of SKB>KLW>MM, with 87 % of samples exceeding the typical toxic risk index 1.00 (ranging from 2.3–48.6) which was 83 % (ranging from 0.3–41) 4 years before. The results of the present study therefore indicate that arsenic concentrations are increasing in the area, which needs an immediate attention to provide alternate sources of water to save people at risk.  相似文献

Ingestion of radionuclides and heavy metals through drinking water and food intake represents one of the important pathways for long-term health considerations. Milk and milk products are main constituents of the daily diet. Radionuclides and heavy metals can be apprehended in the ecosystem of the East Singhbhum region which is known for its viable grades of uranium, copper and other minerals. For the risk assessment studies, samples of milk were collected from twelve villages around Bagjata mining area and analysed for U(nat), 226Ra, 230Th, 210Po, Fe, Mn, Zn, Pb, Cu and Ni. Analysis of the results of the study reveals that the geometric mean of U(nat), 226Ra, 230Th and 210Po was 0.021, 0.24, 0.23 and 1.08 Bq l???1, respectively. The ingestion dose was calculated to be 12.34 ??SvY???1 which is reflecting the natural background dose via the route of ingestion, and much below the 1 mSv limit set in the new ICRP recommendations. The excess lifetime cancer risk was estimated to be 1.72 × 10???4 which is within the acceptable excess individual lifetime cancer risk value of 1 × 10???4. The geometric mean of Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu and Ni was 4.91, 0.29, 4.77, 0.56 and 0.48 mgl???1, respectively; whereas the daily intake was computed to be 0.44, 0.03, 0.43, 0.05 and 0.04 mg/day, respectively. Pb was not detected in any of the samples. The hazard quotient revealed that the intake of the heavy metals through the ingestion of milk does not pose any apparent threat to the local people as none of the HQ of the heavy metals exceeds the limit of 1.  相似文献

A simple and accurate method of determining metalaxyl and cymoxanil in pepper and soil was developed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography–photodiode array detection. The limits of detection were 0.015 mg/kg for metalaxyl and 0.003 mg/kg for cymoxanil. The limits of quantification were 0.05 mg/kg for metalaxyl in pepper and soil as well as 0.01 mg/kg for cymoxanil in pepper and soil. Recoveries of pepper and soil were investigated at three spiking levels and ranged within 77.52 to 102.05 % for metalaxyl and 87.15 to 103.21 % for cymoxanil, with relative standard deviations below 9.30 %. For field experiments, the half-lives of metalaxyl were 3.2 to 3.9 days in pepper and 4.4 to 9.5 days in soil at the three experimental locations in China. At harvest, pepper samples were found to contain metalaxyl and cymoxanil well below the maximum residue limit MRLs of the European Union (EU) following the recommended dosage and the interval of 21 days after last application.  相似文献

In this study, the concentrations of lead, cadmium, and chromium in lipstick samples were evaluated. The samples were from different brands and produced in different countries. The average lead, cadmium, and chromium concentrations in all lipstick samples were 1.851, 0.017, and 4.300 mg kg?1 ww, respectively. There was a significant difference in the concentrations of lead, cadmium, and chromium among the brands (p?<?0.05). The concentrations of the measured elements in the brands did not exceed the values of the international standards provided for lipstick. The values of hazard quotient (HQ), health risk index (HI), relative intake index (RII), and estimated daily intake (EDI) indices were calculated. The results of the HQ and HI indices showed that in more than 50% of the lipstick brands, there is a potential threat to consumer health due to the presence of these elements in lipstick. Therefore, it can be concluded that, due to the simultaneous use of lipstick with other types of cosmetics and hence the potential exposure of consumers to toxic elements through all cosmetics, continuous monitoring of the concentrations of these elements in these types of products is necessary to avoid potential health risks.  相似文献

The acetamiprid, a nenicotinoid insecticide, is a popular crop protection agent used in fields as well as in protected cultivation. A laboratory experiment was conditions to study the effect of light, moisture, and pH on the persistence of acetamiprid in water and soil. Dissipation half-lives of acetamiprid in water at pH 4, 7, and 9 were 6.2, 7.3, and 5.1 days, respectively, and 4.3 days under UV and sunlight conditions. Half-life in soil at three concentrations, 0.1, 1.0, and 10 μg g?1 under different moisture regimes varied from 21.5–22.8, 15.6–22.4, 10.0–15.8 days, respectively, indicating that acetamiprid dissipated faster in submerged soil as compared to field capacity moisture and dry conditions. The leaching study showed that the possibility for leaching of acetamiprid to ground water is extremely low under normal condition of average rainfall due to compact nature soil in the field. Acetamiprid poses low risks to the ecosystem because of their rapid dissipation and low-bound residues in the environment.  相似文献

Persistence of cypermethrin, deltamethrin, profenofos, and triazophos in cauliflower curd was studied, following application of two premix formulations viz: Roket 44EC (profenofos 40 % + cypermethrin 4 %) and Anaconda Plus 36EC (triazophos 35 % + deltamethrin 1 %) at recommended (1.0 L ha?1) and double doses (2.0 L ha?1). In the case of Roket 44EC, residues of cypermethrin dissipated with the half-life values of 1.5–2.1 days, whereas residues of profenofos dissipated with the half-life of 2.9–3.3 days on cauliflower curd. In the case of Anaconda, residues of triazophos and deltamethrin dissipated from curd with the half-life values of 2.6–3.0 and 2.2–2.6 days, respectively. Both the combination mix significantly reduced the aphid population up to 14 days after spray and increased the yield by 155–160 % over control. Anaconda (2.0 L ha?1) treated plots yielded the highest number of marketable curds. Based on risk assessment analysis, safe waiting period of 3 and 5 days has been suggested for Roket 44EC and Anaconda Plus 36EC, respectively, in cauliflower at recommended dose of application.  相似文献

The pre-harvest residue limit (PHRL) of abamectin (abamectin B1a and B1b) in Perilla frutescens leaves grown under greenhouse conditions were investigated using high-performance liquid chromatography with a fluorescence detector. Samples were extracted with acetonitrile. The extract was purified through a solid phase extraction procedure. Then the purified extract was derivatized with trifluoroacetic anhydride and N-methylimidazole to form a strong stable fluorescent derivative of abamectin. Finally, derivatized abamectins were conveyed to the detector via an Atlantis C18 column, with water and methanol as a mobile phase. Calibration curves were linear over the calibration ranges with coefficients of determinants r 2?≥?0.999. The limits of detection and quantification were 0.0033 and 0.01 mg kg?1 for abamectin B1a and B1b, respectively. Recovery was assessed in a control matrix at two different fortification concentrations, with three replicates for each concentration. Good recoveries were obtained for the target analytes and ranged from 82.11 to 93.03 %, with relative standard deviations of less than 8 %. The rate of disappearance of total abamectin on perilla leaves for recommended and double the recommended doses was described as first-order kinetics with a half-life of 0.7 days. Using the PHRL curve, we could predict the residue level of total abamectin to be 0.92 mg kg?1 at 7 days before harvest or 0.26 mg kg?1 at 4 days before harvest, which would be below the provisional MRL designed by the Korea Food and Drug Administration.  相似文献

Agricultural pesticides are widely used in Suriname, an upper middle-income Caribbean country located in South America. Suriname imported 1.8 million kg of agricultural pesticides in 2015. So far, however, national monitoring of pesticides in crops is absent. Reports from the Netherlands on imported Surinamese produce from 2010 to 2015 consistently showed that samples exceeded plant-specific pesticide maximum residue limits (MRLs) of the European Union (EU). Consumption of produce containing unsafe levels of pesticide residues can cause neurological disorders, and particularly, pregnant women and children may be vulnerable. This pilot study assessed the presence of pesticide residues in commonly consumed produce items cultivated in Suriname. Thirty-two insecticides (organophosphates, organochlorines, carbamates, and pyrethroids) and 12 fungicides were evaluated for their levels in nine types of produce. Pesticide residue levels exceeding MRLs in this study regarded cypermethrin (0.32 μg/g) in tomatoes (USA MRL 0.20 μg/g), lambda-cyhalothrin (1.08 μg/g) in Chinese cabbage (USA MRL 0.40 μg/g), endosulfan (0.07 μg/g) in tannia (EU MRL 0.05 μg/g), and lindane (0.02 and 0.03 μg/g, respectively) in tannia (EU MRL 0.01 μg/g). While only a few pesticide residues were detected in this small pilot study, these residues included two widely banned pesticides (endosulfan and lindane). There is a need to address environmental policy gaps. A more comprehensive sampling and analysis of produce from Suriname is warranted to better understand the scope of the problem. Preliminary assessments, using intake rate, hazard quotient, and level of concern showed that it is unlikely that daily consumption of tannia leads to adverse health effects.  相似文献
