Biota-sediment accumulation factors (BSAFs) for Dechlorane Plus (DP), a highly chlorinated flame retardant, were determined in three bottom fish species, i.e., crucian carp, mud carp, and northern snakehead from an electronic waste recycling site in South China. The average BSAFs are 0.007, 0.01, and 0.06 for syn-DP, and 0.003, 0.025, and 0.001 for anti-DP in crucian carp, mud carp, and northern snakehead, respectively, suggesting low bioaccumulation potential of DP isomers in these fish. However, the bioaccumulation factors (BAFs) determined previously in the same sample set indicated that both DP isomers were highly bioaccumulative (BAFs > 5000) in most of the samples. This implies that BSAF values may be inherently inconsistent affecting their reliability as a bioaccumulation indicator. The BSAFs for DP isomers are two orders of magnitude lower than those (average of 0.43–2.28) for extremely hydrophobic polychlorinated biphenyls (CBs 199, 203, 207 and 208), but are comparable to those (average of 0.0001–0.009) for decabromodiphenyl ether (BDE 209) determined in the same sample set. Despite of the different chemical structures of the three compound classes, significantly negative correlations between logarithm of octanol–water partition coefficients (log KOWs) and BSAFs of these chemicals were found, indicating that hydrophobicity is one of the key factors influencing the bioaccumulation of these compounds.  相似文献

为研究淀山湖水生生物中有机氯化合物的浓度与富集特征,测定了该湖水生生物样品(铜锈环棱螺、日本沼虾、鱼类)中滴滴涕(DDTs)、六六六(HCHs)、六氯苯(HCB)、多氯联苯(PCBs)的浓度。研究结果显示,在所有生物样品中均检测到了DDTs、HCHs、HCB,各生物体内的有机氯农药含量有很大差异。在8种生物样品中,乌鳢体内的有机氯化合物含量最高,这可能与乌鳢处于较高营养级,且为肉食性鱼类,体内脂肪较多有关。∑DDTs、∑HCHs、HCB的含量范围分别是55~1 135、0.5~24、6.9~91ng/g lw,其中DDTs为最主要的有机氯农药。4,4’-DDE和α-HCH在各自同系物中所占比例最高,说明淀山湖历史上曾经使用过有机氯农药,而近期没有新的污染源输入。以铜锈环棱螺为参照,有机氯农药的生物放大系数(BMFs)范围是1.2(泥鳅)~23(乌鳢);PCBs的生物放大系数范围是5.9(河川沙塘鳢)~55(乌鳢)。亲脂疏水性、低生化降解速率导致有机氯化合物能在生物组织中富集并通过食物链逐级放大。研究结果表明,有机氯化合物会沿着食物链积累放大,可能会对人体健康存在潜在的威胁。  相似文献

The variation in the body shape of crucian and prussian carps has been studied by methods of geometric morphometrics in sympatric populations from two geographically close lakes in the Southern Urals subjected to different degrees of contamination with anthropogenic radionuclides. Along with particular interspecies features, interpopulation differences have been detected as multidirectional reorganization of cyprinid morphogenesis under different ecological conditions of adjacent lakes. The morphogenetic divergence of crucian carp from adjacent lakes is almost two times smaller than that of the prussian carp coexisting with them. The increased intragroup morphodiversity in prussian carp indicates incomplete adaptation of the fish to anthropogenic radionuclide contamination of the lakes and their high morphogenetic plasticity and high adaptive potential than in crucian carp.  相似文献

为研究涵洞式鱼道的内部结构对鱼道水力特性和过鱼性能的影响,利用FishXing软件对江西昌栗高速公路涵洞的过鱼障碍进行了预测与评估,并针对评估结果提出了涵洞内部结构的水力特性优化方案。改造后的涵洞鱼道监测数据证实,通过在内部铺设高低相间的堰式挡板系统,能够将涵洞池室内的水流速度相对平滑涵洞提升约30%,同时相邻池室间的水位差也整体下降。不同体积流量下涵洞鱼道过鱼效果的RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)射频识别结果显示,草鱼的成功通过率要明显高于鲫和鲤,其值分别为50%,26. 41%和7. 6%;涵洞的水流流量由0. 378 m3/s增至0. 429 m3/s,草鱼上行至涵洞上游入口处的平均所需时间和最短时间均有一定幅度的下降,而鲫平均消耗时间则延长了35. 15%,同时草鱼和鲫的折返率也有小幅上升。  相似文献

Although Dechlorane Plus (DP) has been used as a polychlorinated flame retardant for almost half a century, its detection in the environment was not reported until 2006. The subsequent intensive research has confirmed its global ubiquity. A few reviews have presented the properties, analytical methods and environmental occurrence of DP and related compounds in the past several years. The present review emphasizes on the environmental behavior of DP isomers which is assessed by the variation of the isomer ratio of DP in various matrices. Other aspects including the analytical methods, emission sources, general environmental occurrence and bioaccumulation of DP are also summarized.In this review, three typical emission sources in the environment are categorized after introducing the measurement method of DP. The temporal-spatial distribution is then evaluated at the global scale, which provides an integrated representation of the environmental occurrence of DP and potential impact on the human health and ecosystems. The variations of DP isomer ratio in various matrices reinforce its source related distribution and their stereoselective bioaccumulation. Thereafter, DP related compounds and dechlorinated analogs are briefly summarized in regards to their occurrence in various matrices, suggesting their ubiquity in the environment and bioavailability. Further studies are required to better assess the exposures and toxicological effects of DP and its analogs. A special concern is the serious contamination in e-waste recycling areas in developing countries, where long-term monitoring data on the association of DP exposure and adverse effects to human health and ecosystems is urgently needed.  相似文献

Concentration factors for Cs-137 and Ra-226 transfer from seawater, and dried sediment or mud with detritus, have been determined for whole, fresh weight, Chelon labrosus individuals and selected organs. Cesium was detected in 5 of 22 fish individuals, and its activity ranged from 1.0 to 1.6 Bq kg−1. Radium was detected in all fish, and ranged from 0.4 to 2.1 Bq kg−1, with an arithmetic mean of 1.0 Bq kg−1. In regards to fish organs, cesium activity concentration was highest in muscles (maximum - 3.7 Bq kg−1), while radium was highest in skeletons (maximum - 25 Bq kg−1). Among cesium concentration factors, those for muscles were the highest (from seawater - an average of 47, from sediment - an average of 3.3, from mud with detritus - an average of 0.8). Radium concentration factors were the highest for skeleton (from seawater - an average of 130, from sediment - an average of 1.8, from mud with detritus - an average of 1.5). Additionally, annual intake of cesium and radium by human adults consuming muscles of this fish species has been estimated to provide, in aggregate, an effective dose of about 4.1 μSv y−1.  相似文献

For the first time, this work described pyrethroid bioaccumulation in edible river fish samples. We analyzed 42 whole fish samples collected in 4 different Iberian rivers. All samples were positive to these insecticides. Levels of concentration ranged from 12 to 4938 ng g 1 lipid weight (lw). Moreover, isomeric characterization was carried out. Our results remarked a general preference of cis isomers in bioaccumulation. Finally, the enantiomeric evaluation showed that there was an enantioselective bioaccumulation of some pyrethroids, depending on the studied species. Pyrethroid concentrations were compared with levels obtained for other common pollutants, such as flame retardants, personal care products, hormones and pharmaceuticals. The highest values corresponded to pyrethroid insecticides, even though, pyrethroid levels are safe for human consumption taken into account the current regulations.  相似文献

The work describes the uptake, retention/biological elimination and organ/tissue distribution of 137Cs by freshwater Japanese catfish (Silurus asotus Linnaeus) under laboratory conditions. The fish were divided into three groups based on their size and age and reared in 137Cs-spiked water. The concentration of 137Cs in the whole body of the live fish was measured at regular intervals up to 60 days. A significant accumulation of 137Cs was found, but a steady state condition was not achieved by the end of the experiment. The bioaccumulation factors at steady state and the required time to reach steady state were estimated to be 1.55 and 255 days, 1.76 and 180 days and 1.99 and 160 days for large, medium and small size fish, respectively. To determine the effective half-life of 137Cs, the fish were transferred and reared in the non-contaminated host water. The concentration of the remaining 137Cs in the whole body of the live fish was measured up to 66 days. The average effective half-life of 137Cs in the fish species was found to be approximately 142 days for fish of all sizes. The distribution of 137Cs in different organs/tissues of the fish was determined. Accumulation of 137Cs in muscle/flesh of the fish was found to be approximately 75% of whole body accumulation. The uptake rate and the retention capability of juvenile fish were found to be higher and therefore, these were more susceptible to 137Cs than adult and old fish, and could be an important source of 137Cs in the human food chain.  相似文献

With the phaseout of brominated flame retardants (BFRs) polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), some non-PBDE BFRs have prompted to be alternatives to the discontinued PBDEs. To assess the bioaccumulation potential of these chemicals, field bioaccumulation factors (BAFs) for several non-PBDE BFRs including hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCDs), 1,2-bis(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)ethane (BTBPE), pentabromotoluene (PBT), pentabromoethylbenzene (PBEB), and hexabromobenzene (HBB), were determined in the aquatic species from a natural pond in an electronic waste recycling site in South China. The log BAFs ranged 2.58-6.01, 3.24-5.58, 3.44-5.98, 2.85-5.98, 3.32-6.08, 2.04-4.77, 2.72-4.09 and 3.31-5.54 for α-HBCD, β-HBCD, γ-HBCD, ∑HBCDs, BTBPE, PBT, PBEB, and HBB, respectively. The log BAF values for HBCD isomers, BTBPE, and HBB were greater than 3.7 (corresponding BAF value 5000) in most of the investigated species, demonstrating their highly bioaccumulative properties. α-, β-, and γ-HBCDs, BTBPE, and HBB appeared comparable or had even greater BAFs compared to PBDE congeners with similar K(OW), suggesting that these BFRs may have a potentially high environmental risk. The BAFs for the given BFR compound were largely variable between species, due to the species-specific feeding ecology, trophic level, and metabolic capacity for these pollutants. Positive linear relationships between log BAF and log K(OW) (r2 = 0.59, p = 0.04), and molecular weight (r2 = 0.54, p = 0.06) of non-PBDE BFRs were observed in the species with low trophic level (Chinese mysterysnail), suggesting that the chemical's physicochemical properties also played key roles in the bioaccumulation processes.  相似文献

The levels of organohalogenated contaminants, such as organochlorine pesticides (OCPs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) were measured in four fish species (Acanthobrama marmid (kalashpa), Cyprinus carpio (carp), Chondrostoma regium (nose-carp), and Silurus glanis (wels)) from the Sir Dam Lake, Kahramanmaras, Turkey. These species were selected for their characteristic feeding behaviour and their importance to local human fish consumption. DDTs were the predominant organohalogenated contaminants in all species, with the p,p'-DDE contributing to more than 90% to the total DDTs. Other OCPs, such as hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) isomers, chlordanes and hexachlorobenzene (HCB) were found at much lower levels in all five species. The levels of PCBs and PBDEs (on wet weight basis) were lower than in similar species from European or American freshwater systems. PBDE data were measured for the first time in fish species from Turkish environment. Lipid-based concentrations of OCPs, PCBs and PBDEs were higher in wels than in the other species and this was related to its piscivorous feeding mode and to its higher lipid content. Contrarily, concentrations of pollutants in nose-carp were the lowest, in agreement with its more herbivorous diet. A preferential accumulation in muscle compared to liver was observed for all OCPs, PCBs, and PBDEs in wels and carp, while in nose-carp, a preferential accumulation in liver was observed only for PBDEs, p,p'-DDT and PCBs. Racemic amounts for alpha-HCH were measured in all investigated muscle and liver samples, except for carp muscle.  相似文献

Knowledge and documentation of the levels of radioactive contamination in fish stocks important to Norwegian fisheries is of major importance to Norwegian consumers and fish export industry. In the present study, the bioaccumulation of caesium-137 ((137)Cs) has been investigated in marine food webs in the Barents and Norwegian Seas. The contents of (137)Cs in the different organisms were generally low (<1 Bq kg(-1) wet weight), but a marked bioaccumulation was apparent: The concentration of (137)Cs was about 10-fold higher in the harbour porpoise Phocoena phocoena, representing the upper level of the food web, than in the amphipod Themisto sp., representing the lower level of the food web. The Concentration Factors (CF=Bq kg(-1) wet weight/Bq l(-1) seawater) increased from 10+/-3 for a mixed sample of krill and amphipods to 165+/-5 for harbour porpoises.  相似文献

Kolleru lake is the largest fresh water lake in the districts of East and West Godavari of Andhra Pradesh, India. Many anthropogenic sources contribute to the heavy metal pollution in the lake and the bioaccumulation of heavy metals in fish helps in assessing the aquatic pollution. Total contents and fractionation of selected heavy metals, viz., Zn, Cu, Cd, Pb, Cr, Ni and Co were measured in sediment sample and three edible fish. The investigation aimed at revealing differences in the accumulation pattern of heavy metals in fish inhabiting sediments characterized by varying metal bioavailability. The metal concentrations were found to be greater than the background concentrations of sediments indicating the anthropogenic origin of metals. Good recovery values were obtained for metal contents in sediments and fish. Large fractions of Zn, Cd and Cu were associated with mobile fraction of sediment and showed greater bioaccumulation in fish whereas Ni and Co were least mobilisable. The results clearly indicate that the fish of Kolleru lake are contaminated with metals and not advisable for human consumption.  相似文献

Significant differences in pH dependence of proteolytic and amylolytic enzyme activities in the gut microbiota between crucian carps from different habitats (the Dniester River and Kuchurgan Reservoir) have been revealed for the first time. The proteolytic activity in fish from these water bodies reaches a peak at pH values varying from 7 to 10, while the peak of amylolytic activity is consistently observed at pH 7.0. Both proteolytic and amylolytic activities are higher in fish from the Kuchurgan Reservoir (characterized by increased trophicity and high abundance of bacterioplankton) than in fish from the Dniester. For comparison, the effect of pH on proteinase and glycosidase activities in the gut mucosa and chyme of the same fish has been studied.  相似文献

The current study investigates on correlating the heavy metal contamination, its distribution, and the human health risk associated with all three components of an aquatic ecosystem. For this purpose, water, sediment, and fish samples (three species, notably Notopterus notopterus, Clarias batrachus, and Channa striata) from Deepor Beel were considered, and their heavy metal contamination and distribution were determined. The corresponding health risks were then evaluated for six different heavy metals; Cr, Cd, Fe, Mn, Cu, and Pb. Pb and Mn were found to significantly impact the non-carcinogenic human health risks for the water column. Simultaneously, Cd was considered to possess the highest potential for both carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic health effects in the sediment column. Cd also played a critical role in the fish samples' bioaccumulation factor, with the liver showing the maximum bioaccumulation potential. Furthermore, children were found to have considerably higher effects (both carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic) than adults. Finally, the sediment column was found to substantially contribute to the bioaccumulation factor in the fish biota, compared to the water column. The results of this investigation will thus prove consequential in designing, monitoring and restoring aquatic ecosystems.

Ten different perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs), including perfluooctane sulfonate (PFOS), were measured in 30 common carp (Cyprinus carpio) fillets collected from three sites on the Upper Mississippi River in Minnesota in an effort to evaluate the potential impact of PFAA emissions in this area. Samples upstream of the city of St. Cloud (reference site) had median PFOS concentrations of 8.1 ng/g wet weight (ng/g wet wt), but median levels increased significantly downstream in the Minneapolis-St. Paul urban area, with concentrations from the Pig's Eye Lake site at 26 ng/g wet wt (p=0.0015) and the Spring Lake site at 40 ng/g wet wt (p=0.0004). This latter PFOS concentration is within the advisory range for limiting fish consumption to one meal a week according to the Minnesota Department of Health. Other PFAAs were also found to increase significantly between the reference site and the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, but maximal concentrations remained below 2.0 ng/g wet wt. This study demonstrates the bioaccumulation of PFAAs in a ubiquitous fish species in a major urban area known to have historical inputs of various PFAA compounds. The full extent of this contamination and the potential for accumulation in other species remain to be evaluated.  相似文献

根据2003年3月~2010年3月长江下游安庆和常熟江段的定置网调查结果,应用多元统计分析方法对两江段鱼类群落结构的年际变化特征进行了描述分析。研究期内,安庆和常熟江段共出现鱼类67种,隶属12目22科50属。其中,安庆江段有50种,隶属6目11科34属,常熟江段有52种,隶属12目 21科44属,两江段均是鲤形目的物种数占绝对优势。安庆江段共出现9种优势种,出现次数最多的优势种为鲫和瓦氏黄颡鱼,都是5次,出现次数最少的优势种为[XCz1.tif;%85%85,JZ]、黄尾鲴、鳜,都是1次;常熟江段共出现11种优势种,每年都出现的优势种有鳊、鲢和鲫,仅一年为优势种的有铜鱼、鲤和贝氏[XCz1.tif;%85%85,JZ]。Simper分析表明安庆江段群落组成平均相似度为6147%,常熟江段群落组成平均相似度为7336%,安庆和常熟江段平均相异度为7684%,应用相似性分析检验得出安庆和常熟江段群落组成差异极显著  相似文献
