Organically modified montmorillonite clays were incorporated at a 5% loading level into film grade of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) using a variety of masterbatches based on either semi-crystalline or amorphous poly-(lactic acid), as well as biodegradable aromatic aliphatic polyester. The PLLA masterbatches and compounded formulations were prepared using a twin screw compounding extruder, while the films were prepared using a single screw cast film extruder. The thermal and mechanical properties of the films were examined in order to determine the effect of the clay and different carriers on the polymer–clay interactions. In the optimal case, when a PLLA-based masterbatch was used, the tensile modulus increased by 30%, elongation increased by 40%, and the cold crystallization temperature decreased by 15 °C, compared to neat PLLA. The properties improvement of PLLA films containing nano clays demonstrated the possibility to extend the range of biodegradable film applications, especially in the field of packaging. 相似文献

Highly polluted wastewater from oil and soap factories has been treated via coagulation followed by dissolved air flotation. Ferric chloride and alum were used as coagulants at their optimal pH value and dosages. Factors affecting the efficiency of the dissolved air flotation process, such as detention time and air-solids ratio, have been investigated. The results obtained showed that this process proved to be very efficient in removing the organic contaminants. The oil removal value reached 99.1%. The COD, BOD, and turbidity removal achieved 94.5%, 96% and 99.3%, respectively. 相似文献

Job Safety Analysis (JSA), which is also known as Job Hazard Analysis, is an efficient proactive measure for safety risk assessment used in industrial manufacturing settings. However, unlike the manufacturing settings for which JSA was developed, at construction sites the physical environment is constantly changing, workers move through the site in the course of their work, and they are often endangered by activities performed by other teams. To address this difficulty, a structured method for hazard analysis and assessment for construction activities, called “Construction Job Safety Analysis” (CJSA), was developed. The method was developed within the framework of research toward a lean approach to safety management in construction, which required the ability to predict fluctuating safety risk levels in order to support safety conscious planning and pulling of safety management efforts to the places and times where they are most effective. The method involves identification of potential loss-of-control events for detailed stages of the activities commonly performed in construction, and assessment of the probability of occurrence for each event identified. It was applied to explore 14 primary construction activities in an extensive trial implementation that included expert workshops and a series of 101 interviews with site engineers and superintendents. Detailed quantitative results were obtained for a total of 699 possible loss-of-control events; the most frequent events are those related to exterior work at height. 相似文献
