This study aims to investigate the impact of MSW landfill on the contamination of phthalate esters (PAEs) in nearby environment. Landfill leachate, surface water, groundwater and soil profile samples were collected from a MSW landfill area in Wuhan, China. Contents of 16 PAEs were detected for each sample using gas chromatography method. Results showed that landfill had an obvious effect on the contamination of PAEs in groundwater, whereas showed no tremendous effect on the PAEs contamination in surface water and topsoil. Seven possible transportation processes of PAEs in landfill area were put forward. However, the especially important processes are the invasion of PAEs into aquifer through weathered crevice, horizontal transportation in aquifer and upward infiltration with groundwater. It is suggested that the whole landfill area should be engineered with seepage-proof membrane and clay so as to prevent landfill leachate from flowing out of the filling area. On the other hand, no weathering crevice is permitted in the landfill area as it will affect groundwater seriously. 相似文献

Time domain reflectometry (TDR) is a prospective measurement technology for moisture content of sewage sludge composting material; however, a significant dependence upon temperature has been observed. The objective of this study was to assess the impacts of temperature upon moisture content measurement and determine if TDR could be used to monitor moisture content in sewage sludge compost across a range of temperatures. We also investigated the combined effects of temperature and conductivity on moisture content measurement. The results revealed that the moisture content of composting material could be determined by TDR using coated probes, even when the measured material had a moisture content of 0.581 cm3 cm?3, temperature of 70 °C and conductivity of 4.32 mS cm?1. TDR probes were calibrated as a function of dielectric properties that included temperature effects. When the bulk temperature varied from 20 °C to 70 °C, composting material with 0.10–0.70 cm3 cm?3 moisture content could be measured by TDR using coated probes, and calibrations based on different temperatures minimized the errors. 相似文献

In this study, field measurements were conducted to estimate and characterize the atmospheric emission levels and profiles of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from multiple industrial thermal processes. The emission levels and profiles of PCBs from five types of thermal processes at twenty-three plants were studied and compared with eight processes reported in our previous studies. Correlation analysis was preformed to identify a marker congener for emission of ΣPCB. A significant correlation was observed between congener CB-118 and ΣPCB (R2 = 0.65 and p < 0.01), which suggests that CB-118 is a good marker congener for emission of ΣPCB. The profiles of PCBs emitted from the thirteen thermal processes were compared, and this information could be used for studying source–receptor relationships and identifying the specific sources of PCBs. To prioritize the sources for control, the concentrations of PCBs from thirteen industrial thermal sources were compared. The PCB concentrations from secondary zinc smelting and thermal wire reclamation were about one to three order magnitude higher than those of other sources, which suggests that these two sources be given priority in PCB source control. Finally, the atmospheric emission factors of PCBs from the thirteen industrial sources were summarized, and these data will be useful for developing an integrated emission inventory of PCBs. 相似文献

To inactivate the potentially pathogenic microorganisms and safely utilize vegetable waste compost, ultra-high temperatures( 70°C) should be maintained during the composting without having an inhibitory effect on maturity. This study investigated the influence of bulk density(part 1) and easily-degraded organic matter content(EDOMC, part 2) on temperature evolution during vegetable waste composting: Part 1: corn straw with different particle sizes was used to achieve different bulk densities in the composting material(BD1–BD3); Part 2: partial or total substitution of the corn straw by corn starch was carried out to obtain different EDOMC(ED1–ED4). The composting experiments were conducted in a labscale reactor(1.75 kg material) and lasted for 30 d. Temperature and CO2 emission were recorded daily, and the organic matter, lignocellulose, microbial activity, germination index(GI) and C/N of the samples were measured at different stages. The highest temperature(65.7°C) in part 1 occurred in the treatment with the bulk density of 0.35 g/cm3, which also had the longest thermophilic phase. Bulk density was found to seriously influence the utilization efficiency of O2 and heat transfer through materials, rather than heat production from organic matter degradation. In experiment part 2, the highest temperature was obtained with EDOMC of 45%(71.4°C). Therefore, adjusting the bulk density to 0.35 g/cm3 and the easily-degraded organic matter content of the initial material to 45% was the best combination for reaching temperatures above 70°C during composting, with no inhibitory effect on the maturity of the compost product. 相似文献

文章利用三维荧光光谱技术和平行因子分析技术,识别并分析了西北地区皮里青河流域林地、耕地、草地及裸地4种典型利用类型土壤DOM特性,以期明晰该流域典型土地利用类型土壤DOM地化特征.结果 表明,4种土地利用类型均存在紫外类腐殖质荧光峰A、可见类富里酸荧光峰C、陆源腐殖质峰M,但强度有所不同.A、C、M峰荧光强度大小顺序均为林地>草地>耕地>裸地.所有样品DOM均由内外源共同产生,但是林地和裸地陆源特征更明显,林地腐殖化程度较高,并且存在更多的芳香性和疏水组分.研究发现,DOC和CDOM之间未出现相关性(P>0.5),FDOM和DOC之间存在低度正相关性(P<0.05,r2=0.22),FDOM和CDOM之间存在中等正相关性(P<0.05,r2=0.52).5个荧光光谱特征参数获取到了2个主成分,PC1和PC2分别反映了DOM结构特性、来源特性.平行因子分析发现,4种土地利用类型土壤DOM均存在C1组分,与EEMs图结果相比,林地产生较明显红移现象. 相似文献
