Sorption of tylosin onto swine manure 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Sorption of tylosin was conducted on manure solids (<2 mm) and colloidal materials (<1.2 microm) collected from open (OL) and covered (CL) anaerobic swine manure lagoons. The aqueous concentration of tylosin in the sorption studies bracket the levels expected in lagoons, between 1 mgl(-1) and 30 mgl(-1). Sorption isotherms were found to be slightly non-linear for 2 mm solids, with Freundlich distribution coefficients (K(f)) of 39.4 with n=1.32 for CL slurry and 99.5 with n=1.02 for OL. These values are comparable to those reported for loam soils, but higher than those reported for sandy or clay soils and lower than those reported for fresh manure. Normalization of K(d) to the organic carbon content of the solids gave K(oc) values of 570 lkg(-1) and 818 lkg(-1), for CL and OL solids, respectively. The K(d) and K(f) values were not significantly different between colloids and 2 mm solids in OL slurry, but were significantly different in CL due to the non-linearity of the colloid isotherm. Based on the K(d) values obtained and comparing the K(d) values of other antibiotics, tylosin is strongly sorbed to manure, and would be more mobile than tetracyclines, but less mobile than sulfonamides, olaquindox, and chloramphenicol. Previous attempts to determine palaeoenvironmental preferences in dinosaurs have generally been qualitative assessments based
upon data from restricted geographical areas. Here, we use a global database of Cretaceous herbivorous dinosaurs to identify
significant associations between clades and broad palaeoenvironmental categories (‘terrestrial’, ‘coastal’, ‘marine’). Nodosaurid
ankylosaurs and hadrosaurids show significant positive associations with marine sediments, while marginocephalians (Ceratopsia,
Pachycephalosauria), saurischians (herbivorous theropods, Sauropoda) and ankylosaurid ankylosaurs are significantly positively
associated with terrestrial sediments. These results provide quantitative support for the hypothesis that some clades (Nodosauridae,
Hadrosauridae) were more abundant in coastal and/or fluvial environments, while others (e.g. Marginocephalia, Ankylosauridae)
preferentially inhabited more distal environments.

The extent of contamination by endosulfans in soil samples collected from the Point Mugu watershed near Oxnard, California was determined using capillary gas chromatography/mass selective detection (GC/MSD). The study was designed to detect three organochlorinated pesticides: endosulfan , endosulfan and endosulfan sulfate. Thirteen sets of two soil samples each were taken from various sites in the region. Our results show that the endosulfan levels in these soils range from trace amounts to nearly 30 ppm, with endosulfan being the most abundant and endosulfan sulfate the least. Two sites of the study, Hueneme and Revolon and Farm and Revolon, showed high amounts of endosulfans and , with concentrations between 20 and 30 ppm. The majority of the other sites studied in this research produced concentrations of less than 10 ppm for each of the three endosulfans monitored. At five areas in particular, Pleasant Valley and Creek, Laguna and Creek, Etting and Creek, Road and Creek and Hueneme and Creek, less than 2 ppm or only trace amounts of endosulfans , and sulfate were detected. 相似文献
