In order to investigate the effect of different slope-protecting vegetation on soil restoration in the highways, we collected soils at depths of 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm, and 20-30 cm from areas planted with Amorpha fruticosa, Periploca sepium, and Paederia scandens for 6-7 years in the Daming road section of the Daguang Highway, in October 2016. The physico-chemical properties and microbial community of the soils were then analyzed. The soil microbial community was analyzed by terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP). The correlation between the microbial community and the physico-chemical properties of the soils was determined by redundancy analysis (RDA). The results showed that (1) the physico-chemical properties were the best for soils with Paederia scandens; the nutrient content, water holding capacity, and porosity of the soils with the three types of slope-protecting vegetation were better in the 0-10 cm layer than in the other layers; (2) the contents of soil aggregates (diameter > 5 mm) were the highest in the 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm layers for the soil with Paederia scandens; (3) the dominant bacteria in the 0-10 cm layer and dominant fungi in the 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm, and 20-30 cm layers were higher in the soils with Pe. sepium and Pa. scandens than in the soil with A. fruticosa; and (4) results of RDA showed that the physical properties of the soils were the main factors that influenced the soil microbial community. The physical properties of the soils were sensitive to the change of soil quality. Soil quality can be improved by appropriate management measures, such as burying litter, which can subsequently improve the ecological environment of soils in sloping regions. © 2018 Science Press. On 21 September 1999, the Ji Ji earthquake killed 2,347 people. In the immediate aftermath the international community, mobilised rapidly and sent urban search-and-rescue (US&R) teams to the scene. Chitosan is a natural biopolymer which can be used to replace aluminum salts and chemical polymers as a coagulant to avoid the human health problems caused by the residual of aluminum and chemical polymers in water. Chitin is a major component in shrimp and crab shells, and chitosan can be produced from chitin via a deacetylated process. Since the biodegradation of chitin is very slow, large amount of discards from the processing of crustaceans has become a major concern in seafood industry. Therefore, more works are need to find the possible applications of chitin, chitosan and their derivatives. This research used chitosan as a coagulant to recover wheat dregs in the wastewater from washing the mash and the lauter unit in a brewery, and regards this study as an example to understand the influences of the characters of the wastewater on the treatment plant of brewery. The result shows that the␣wastewater from the mash and the lauter units can have the best treatment efficiency at the coagulant dosage of 120 mg/L in the original pH 4.5. Increasing the solution pH decreased the turbidity removal efficiency. The dominant mechanisms for chitosan to remove colloids in the␣wastewater are charge bridging and neutralization, and the later becomes less significant in␣the high pH. The coagulant of chitosan removed most of the colloidal form organic matter in the wastewater, but it has only little effect on the removal of dissolving organic matter. Chitosan is a natural material, after coagulation the sludge from the mash and lauter wastewater can serve directly as an animal husbandry fodder after been dehydrated. This paper investigates the anaerobic biotransformation of three isomers of phthalic acid and benzoic acid in sediment slurries under four different atmospheres [N(2), N(2)/H(2) (19:1, v/v), CO(2), and CO(2)/H(2) (4:1, v/v)]. Significant differences were observed in lag periods and biotransformation rates among the phthalic acid isomers and under the different atmospheres. In most cases, the relative biotransformation rates of the three isomers of phthalic acid were ortho-phthalic acid>isophthalic acid>terephthalic acid. Benzoate was transformed faster than any isomer of phthalic acid. Since biotransformation of phthalic acid isomers in sediment slurries was enhanced by high initial levels of H(2) and CO(2) in the headspace, we propose a pathway for phthalic acid biodegradation in which the initial transformation to benzoate is CO(2)-H(2) dependent. Acetogenic bacteria were investigated for their possible involvement in this transformation reaction, but when MPN counts were used to compare the growth dynamics of acetogenic bacteria with the time course of the terephthalic acid transformation under N(2)/H(2) (19:1, v/v) and CO(2)/H(2) (4:1, v/v) atmospheres, the results were inconclusive. 相似文献

Many studies on methane emissions from animal manure have revealed that animal manure is a major source of methane emissions
to the atmosphere that can have negative consequences for people, animals and environment. In general, the release of methane can
be influenced by the type of feed taken by animals, temperature, manure characteristics and so on. This study aimed at quantifying
and comparing methane release from dairy manure with di erent piling treatments. Four treatments were designed including manure
piling height 30, 45, 60 cm and adding 6 cm manure every day until the piling height was 60 cm. Static chamber method and gas
chromatography were adopted to measure the methane emissions from April to June in 2009. Methane emission rates of all four
manure treatments were low in the first week and then increased sharply until reaching the peak values. Subsequently, all the methane
emission rates decreased and fluctuated within the steady range till the end of the experiment. Wilcoxon nonparametric tests analysis
indicated that methane emission rate was greatly influenced by manure piling height and manner. There were no significant relationships
between methane emission rates and the temperatures of ambience and heap. However, regression analysis showed that the quadratic
