In this study, measurements of the trace metals Zn, Cd, Cr, Ni, Pb, Cu, Fe and Al were performed on 53 wet atmospheric precipitation samples (snow and rainwater) collected at a central site of Tehran. Samples were collected using a bulk sampler equipped with a high-density polyethylene funnel from November to May in 2011 and 2012 on the roof of a building in the city centre. Trace metals in the filtered samples were measured with ICP-MS. Statistical analysis of the results revealed that Al, which is principally a crustal-derived element, was the highest mean measured concentration. The pH ranged from 4.2 to 7.1 with a mean value of 5.1. Crustal enrichment factors (EFc) related to the relative abundance of elements in crustal material was calculated using Al as reference crustal. EFc calculations indicated that samples were not enriched with Fe and Cr but were, fairly to extremely, enriched with Zn, Cd, Ni, Pb and Cu. Factor component analysis with varimax-normalized rotation was conducted to find the probable sources of the measured species. This resulted in two factors with eigenvalues greater than unity. Factor 1 showed an anthropogenic source, mostly industrial combustion and local traffic emissions, for Zn, Cd, Ni, Pb, and Cu while factor 2 showed a crustal contribution for Al, Fe and Cr. 相似文献

A new complexing agent, 2-((2-((1H-benzo[d]imidazole-2yl)methoxy)phenoxy)methyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole (BIMPI), was used in cloud point extraction and applied for selective pre-concentration of trace amounts of cadmium in cigarette samples. Cadmium was complexed with BIMPI in a buffer solution (pH?=?10) using Triton X-114 as surfactant and quantitatively extracted into a small volume of the surfactant-rich phase after centrifugation. Under optimized conditions (pH?=?10.0, 0.8?×?10?4?mol?L?1 BIMPI and 0.08 % (w/v) Triton X-114), calibration graph was linear in the range of 34.0–1,670.0 μg?L?1. A novel nanomaterial has been developed for speciation of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in water and soil samples. In this study, a new type of alumina-coated magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4/Al2O3 NPs) modified by the surfactant Triton X-114 has been successfully synthesized and used in magnetic mixed hemimicelles solid-phase extraction procedure. The procedure was based on the reaction of chromium(III) with 1-(2-pyridilazo)-2-naphtol as a ligand, yielding a complex, which was entrapped “in situ” in the surfactant hemimicelles. The concentration of chromium(III) was determined using flame atomic absorption spectrometry. After reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) by ascorbic acid, the system was applied to the total chromium. Cr(VI) was then calculated as the difference between the total Cr and the Cr(III) content. This method can also be used for complicated matrices such as soil samples without any special pretreatment. Under the optimum conditions of parameters, the recoveries of Cr(III) by analyzing the spiked water and soil samples were between 98.6 and 100.8 % and between 96.5 and 100.7 %, respectively. Detection limits of Cr(III) were between 1.4 and 3.6 ng?mL?1 for water samples and 5.6 ng?mg?1 for soil samples. 相似文献

Sustainable development has become a major focus for engineers and planners as part of their collective efforts in finding, developing and integrating environmental-friendly solutions for material recycling and waste management into design and construction of civil engineering infrastructure. In the past three decades, there has been an increase in recycling and application of waste materials into the concrete to decrease costs and improve material properties of the concrete. Significant growth in automobile manufacturing industry and increased rubber tire supply for vehicles suggested the application of waste tire particles as concrete aggregates to minimize the ecological footprint of the rubber tire waste due to its recycling process difficulties. In this paper, the effect of rubber tire particles on compressive and dynamic strength of concrete specimens with different particle percentiles was tested on more than 55 cylindrical specimens. To achieve the optimal mix design properties of rubber tire concrete specimens, both fine and coarse aggregates got replaced by fine and coarse rubber particles. Introduction of rubber tire particles as coarse and fine aggregate reduces the brittleness of the concrete and provides more flexible aggregate bonding which ultimately improves the dynamic resistance of the concrete. It increases the concrete workability and provides environmental-friendly and cost-effective solutions in using recycled materials for concrete construction applications. 相似文献

This research has been conducted to study the influence of the abrasive and coolant–lubricant types on the minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) grinding performance. One type of CBN and three types of conventional wheels (corundum) have been tested. The tests have been performed in presence of fluid, air jet and eleven types of coolant–lubricants, as well as, in dry condition. The results indicate that the finest surface quality and lower grinding forces could be obtained while grinding with CBN wheel. In case of conventional wheels, the coarser and high porosity wheels induce much proper grinding results. Furthermore, grinding when utilizing MQL with oil results in higher grinding performance. 相似文献

CO2 is the dominant constituent of non-condensable gases in the steam phase of most geothermal fluids. This paper attempts to present the results of a study conducted to develop prediction modeling of CO2 dispersion in the surrounding atmosphere from a planned 50 MWe geothermal power plant prior to its production. Dispersion models are widely used for predicting future concentrations of environmental emissions on a range of geographic scales. The dispersion type for gases and their average removal rate depends on the meteorological conditions such as wind direction, wind speed, precipitation, atmospheric stability, and surface roughness and topography. Geographic Information System (GIS) capabilities were used for quality visualization of the model outputs and presenting an accurate numerical copy of the study area. The results by the prediction model show that the natural transfer of CO2 will be from the power plant toward east and northeast and CO2 concentration trends after the power plant utilization will be similar to the background conditions with minor changes. This dispersion test was carried out to validate and field test the GIS aided dispersion modeling approach described in the paper and the procedure may be applicable for other studies assessing the emission dispersion of pollutants from a point source. 相似文献

This work presents a novel, reliable and simple method of estimating the flash point of various types of flammable amines, which are important for safety measures in industrial processes. Different amines include aliphatic amines such as primary, secondary, tertiary and cyclic amines as well as aromatic amines and hetero arenes containing nitrogen heteroatom. The proposed correlation is based on the contribution of some specific molecular moieties and functional groups, which can easily be used for any types of amines. Intermolecular forces are important in the new method, which are counted by two increasing and decreasing parameters. The root mean square (rms) deviation is 18 K for different classes of amines including 133 diverse compounds. The estimated flash points have been compared with one of the best available predictive methods, which gives much lower value of the rms deviation. 相似文献

Fars Comprehensive Agricultural Database was created to remove bottlenecks and constrains of province for decision makers in a way that leads to sustainable agriculture. Regarding Fars agricultural comprehensive information database, and the importance of wheat as the strategic commodity, this study was conducted in Ali-Abad-e-Kamin (Pasargad, Iran) to assess two most important managerial factors affecting other agricultural factors. Therefore, in this study, besides evaluating the effect of water resource on wheat yield and other traits, education impacts were analyzed and evaluated as well. Data were collected regarding cadastre land use information derived from satellite imagery combined with GIS potencies, and also a comprehensive questionnaire was completed to collect local field information. Results revealed that educational level has significant effect on crop yield, fields’ area and seed consumption rate and also effect of water resource showed significant difference for crop yield, fields’ area. Finally, interactive effect of water resource and educational level showed significant difference just for wheat yield. Also, as a result, higher education positively results in improved wheat yield, lands’ area and seed consumption rate. On the other hand, river as a type of sustainable water resource with karstic geological formations positively affected wheat yield, lands’ area and farms distance from village. Overall, transferring knowledge from relevant organization resulting in higher productivity seems to be necessary. 相似文献

Ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and phenol-degrading yeast were isolated in order to study the synergism effects of phenol-degrading yeast and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria for enhancing the nitrification in coke wastewater from the Isfahan Steel Company. The influent and effluent samples with approximately 600-1200 mg L(-1) ammonium and 550-2350 mg L(-1) phenol were collected aseptically in sterile flasks. The biodegradation of phenol and nitrification were studied with different treatments. The results showed that addition of Na2CO3 and autotrophic bacteria to wastewater increased the ammonium removal by 100%. Furthermore, the synergism effects of phenol-degrader yeast and autotrophic bacteria reduced the time for ammonium removal. 相似文献

Radioactive wastes containing Cs+ and Sr2+ are among the most dangerous environmental pollutants. Therefore, removing Cs+ and Sr2+ from environmental media is needed. Removal can be done by nanocrystalline ion exchangers. Nanocrystalline ion exchangers are studied in depth for the treatment of nuclear wastes because these exchangers have high exchange capacity and fast kinetics. However, operating the columns of these exchangers is very difficult. This issue may be overcome by the preparation and use of nanocomposites. Here, we prepared a novel polyacrylonitrile–zeolite nanocomposite for the removal of Cs+ and Sr2+ in a fixed-bed column operation. We studied the effect of influent flow rate, nanocomposite bed height and initial concentrations. Experimental data were analysed using the Thomas model and the bed-depth service time model. The results reveal that total adsorbed ion and bed capacity increased with increasing initial ions concentration and bed height; and decreased with increasing influent flow rate. The maximum bed capacity was 0.085 meq/g for Cs+ and 0.128 meq/g for Sr2+. The critical bed height (Z 0) was 4.35 cm for Cs+ and 2.89 cm for Sr2+. These findings demonstrate that the new nanocomposite is suitable for removal of Cs+ and Sr2+. 相似文献
