安钢高炉出铁场除尘工程实践

六号高炉炉前出铁场工程是一项工业污染治理项目，该项目结合安钢实际，利用较少的投资，解决了多年困扰炼铁厂的炉前烟尘污染的问题，该技术结合目前国内中小高炉出铁场综合治理的经验，提出了顶吸加侧吸的综合捕集方式，极大地改善了出铁场的烟尘污染状况，同时回收的粉尘又有极高的利用价值，取得了一定的经济效益。     

钢厂热锯机噪声控制方案

某钢厂热锯机的工作噪声问题严重影响附近居民的日常生活，急需解决。根据其发声机理，通过采取对圆盘锯边缘开槽，安装吸隔声罩，对锯片增加阻尼材料，夹紧工件等措施取得了较好的降噪效果。     

20种护耳器噪声防护效果的探讨

探讨了国内外２０种护耳器对石油钻井噪声的防护效果。首先在隔声室内模拟石油钻井工人接触的噪声环境，声级达１０３ｄＢ（Ａ）。采用护耳器主观测量方法对每种护耳器进行噪声防护效果测量，并筛选出噪声防护效果明显的几种护耳器。     

Thermal treatment and non-thermal technologies for remediation of manufactured gas plant sites

More than 1500 manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites exist throughout the U.S. Many are contaminated with coal tar from coal-fueled gas works which produced ‘town gas’ from the mid-1800s through the 1950s.^1,2 Virtually all old U.S. cities have such sites. Most are in downtown areas as they were installed for central distribution of manufactured gas. While a few sites are CERCLA/Superfund, most are not. However, the contaminants and methods used for remediation are similar to those used for Superfund clean-ups of coal tar contamination from wood-treating and coke oven facilities. Clean-up of sites is triggered by regulatory pressure, property transfers and re-development as well as releases to the environment — in particular, via groundwater migration. Due to utility de-regulation, site clean-ups may also be triggered by sale of a utility or of a specific utility site to other utilities. Utilities have used two approaches in dealing with their MGP sites. The first is ‘do nothing and hope for the best’. History suggests that, sooner or later, these sites become a bigger problem via a release, citizen lawsuit or regulatory/public service commission intervention. The second, far better approach is to define the problem now and make plans for waste treatment or immobilization. This paper describes recent experience with a high capacity/low cost thermal desorption process for this waste and reviews non-thermal technology, such as bio-treatment, capping, recycling, and dig and haul. Cost data is provided for all technologies, and a case study for thermal treatment is also presented.     

宁波台地倾斜在皎口地震活动中的前兆反应特征

通过对宁波台地倾斜近几年来观测资料的分析，发现其在皎口几组地震事件前有不同程度的异常反应。在分量图上，震前出现了短临期前兆异常反应特征，并且有异常时间越长，幅度越大，地震震级就越高的特点。此外还对异常出现的成因作了探讨     

地貌对矿区环境,灾害的影响与对策

论述了地貌对矿区环境、灾害的产生及发展的影响，并以中国几个矿区的实例论述这一问题，同时，提出一些减缓影响的对策．     

重力式码头的震害预测

本文根据重力式码头的结构地震荷载计算和地震破坏的经验，建立了重力式码头的震害预测方法。并用此方法对烟台港的重力式码头进行了震害预测。     

煤矿人为事故发生可能性预测数学模型研究

研究发现，煤矿工人的冒险行为主要可以由生产条件、个人表现、工作状况及用工方式等影响因素预测，煤矿人为事故的发生可能性主要由煤矿工人的冒险行为表现预测。据此，便可建立预测煤矿人为事故发生可能性的数学模型     

Cultural and individual differences in self‐rating behavior: an extension and refinement of the cultural relativity hypothesis

This study examined the relationships between culture, individual attributes, and self‐rating behavior among 1,786 university students in Canada, Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China, and Japan, and in doing so extended and refined the cultural relativity hypothesis. It explored the difference between vertical and horizontal individualists in self‐rating behavior, and examined the mediating effects of two individual attributes, self‐enhancement propensity and general self‐efficacy in the relationship between individualism and self‐rating behavior. The results confirmed that individualism is the cultural driver for self‐rating leniency, and that the individual‐level assessment of individualism is a stronger predictor of self‐rating leniency than are culture‐level differences. Vertical individualism was found to be positively related to self‐enhancement propensity, which in turn was positively related to self‐rating. Whereas, horizontal individualism was positively related to general self‐efficacy, which in turn had a positive relationship with self‐rating. Current status and research on E-waste issues in Asia

Rapid economic growth in Asia and the increasing transboundary movement of secondary resources will increasingly require both 3R endeavors (reduce, reuse, recycle) in each country and appropriate control of international material cycles. Recently, managing electrical and electronic waste (E-waste) has become an important target for domestic and international material cycles from the viewpoints of environmental preservation and resource utilization efficiency. To understand the current status of E-waste issues in the context of international material cycles and to discuss the future tasks related to achieving 3R in the region, we organized the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) E-waste Workshop in December 2004. This article reviews past studies on E-waste and briefly describes the topics presented and discussions held at the workshop. The topics at the workshop included E-waste generation, recycling systems, international trade, and environmental impacts. In addition, we discussed various issues such as terminology, current environmental concerns, and possible solutions. Transboundary shipments of E-waste should be conducted taking into consideration the concept of sustainable development. The direction of future research and possible collaborations are also discussed.
