Although the selection of product categories is a deciding factor for the success of eco-labelling schemes, there are no consistent methods for determining selection factors and how to prioritise product categories for developing countries (DgCs). This paper attempts to identify appropriate factors for product category selection and formulate a prioritisation method applicable to DgCs. We first examined the selection factors currently utilised in schemes worldwide by conducting a questionnaire survey of representatives of foreign schemes. Selection factors were illustrated on a plot graph, which indicated the percentage of factors implemented in the schemes of DgCs and developed countries (DGs), and their plausibility assessed when utilised in the schemes of DgCs. In this way, we proposed three groups of factors: an exclusion factor, five core factors and seven operational factors. Then, under the conditions of DgCs, such as socioeconomic issues and availability of data, we used and modified some judging guidelines of the European Ecolabel (the EU Flower), e.g. determining the environmental impacts and potential of environmental improvements, in the scoring method to prioritise product categories by weighting factors. In light of our findings, we utilised the proposed factors and modified the scoring method to prioritise the screened primary list of product categories of Vietnamese manufacturing sub-sectors. By scoring factor-based questions and prioritising in three ways, i.e. following the scoring method of the EU Flower programme, totalling all values with equal weighting, and totalling all values but by doubling the weighting of core factors compared with operational factors, we observed that the weighted prioritisation differentiates priority product categories more clearly than the other methods. We propose the two highest potential candidates for eco-labelling in Vietnam, namely textile/garment and fishery products.  相似文献

We aimed to: (1) evaluate the change in mutagenicity of a fenitrothion-containing solution during photolysis and (2) elucidate mutagenic compounds that were possible major contributors to mutagenicity. A batch test involving irradiation by natural sunlight was conducted on the solution, and then HPLC fractionation, mutagenicity testing, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis were performed on the irradiated solution. During the 15-day photolysis, fenitrothion was almost completely decomposed, and 34 transformed products (TPs) were generated. Photolysis decreased the mutagenicity of the fenitrothion-containing solution for base-pair-substitution-detecting tester strains (YG1026 and YG1029) but increased mutagenicity for frameshift-detecting tester strains (YG1021 and YG1024). One TP was identified as a potential source of the increased mutagenicity; its molecular formula was estimated to be (CH(3)O)(2)PS-O-C(8)H(6)NO.  相似文献

In accidents involving sports utility vehicles (SUVs), injuries to pedestrian leg, knee ligaments, and femur are likely to occur. Therefore, the European Enhanced Vehicle Safety Committee proposed two subsystem test methods for evaluation of SUV bumper aggressiveness. Such evaluation can be conducted by means of either a legform impactor (evaluation of risk of knee and tibia injury), or an upper legform impactor (evaluation of risk of thigh and pelvis injury) test. Each of these two test methods has its own injury criteria and injury acceptance levels. Therefore, the first objective of this research is to clarify any differences between the test results obtained when evaluating SUV bumper aggressiveness by means of these two impactors. The second objective is to determine whether or not a legform impactor can be applied to estimate the risk of femur fracture, and if an upper legform impactor can be used to estimate the risk of knee ligament injury. The present results indicate the test method using an upper legform impactor yields higher ratios of injury criteria to the relevant EEVC/WG17 injury acceptance levels than by using a legform impactor. Thus, the upper legform impactor test rates an SUV bumper as more aggressive than the legform impactor test. The present study suggests the lower leg acceleration obtained by the legform impactor can be used to adequately assess the risk of femur fracture, when evaluating the aggressiveness of an SUV bumper using proposed injury acceptance levels reported in the literature. Similarly, the impact force obtained by the upper legform impactor can be used to assess the risk of cruciate ligament injury.  相似文献

The objectives of this research are to propose a new impact response corridor for the ISO legform impactor and to determine the biofidelity of the current legform impactor with rigid leg and thigh developed by the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL). The latest data obtained from Post Mortem Human Subject (PMHS) knee impact tests were analyzed in connection with the proposal, and biofidelity legform impact tests were conducted using the current rigid legform impactor. New normalized biofidelic corridors of impact force corresponding to adult male 50th percentile (AM50) are proposed. The impact test results indicate the current rigid legform impactor does not have sufficient human knee biofidelity. The present results suggest that human tolerance can not be used directly for the injury reference value of the legform impactor. A conversion method is needed to interpret the data measured by current legform impactors as the injury reference value.  相似文献

Ash samples collected from medical, municipal and small-scale domestic incinerators in Japan were tested for dioxin-like activity using bioassay technique (ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase: EROD assay) and for extractable organohalogens (EOX) using instrumental neutron activation analysis in order to estimate potential toxicity and responsible chemicals in those samples. Crude extracts and fractions cleaned-up for dioxin analysis from the samples were used for the analysis. The ranges of dioxins in the ashes were between 2.23 and 12.29 ng TEQ/g (dry weight). Relative potency ranges estimated by EROD assay in the medical incinerator ashes were 3.8-17.6 times higher than the results of conventional chemical analysis. EOX analysis suggested that ash samples contained plenty of organochlorine compounds apart from chlorinated dioxins. In addition, medical waste incinerator ashes were considered to have relatively higher amount of organoiodine compounds. In the cleaned-up fractions, bioassay potency ranges were lower than those in the crude extracts. However, some samples still exhibited higher potency than expected from chemical analysis. Though some polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were found in the fractions, the amounts were relatively low (0.39-10.56 ng/g). The results imply that some bioactive organohalogens that cannot be detected in the conventional chemical analysis might have potential for dioxin-like toxicity, and contribute to higher bioassay activities. The combination of the chemical analysis with the bioassay and EOX provides rough figure of dioxin-like toxicity and suggests types of organohalogen compounds that should be identified as a part of dioxin analysis for control emission from an incineration plant.  相似文献
