The relatively large quantities of waste generated daily in military barracks pose a significant impact on environments in this small island of Taiwan due to limited land and crowded populations. In order to find a suitable handling method to the barracks' characteristics in Taiwan, a comprehensive selection model for various barracks carrying out waste composting was established through personal interviews and questionnaire data analyses on the military barracks. From this, the basic data for this research was also built, to evaluate the experiences and management practices in these facilities. This study found that environmental responsibility and expertise are the primary concerns and considerations among all of the military units when doing waste composting. Support of the commander, organizational image and human resource/facilities are also concerns. To offer the military barracks a selection model and policy guidelines for the waste composting treatment, an itemized score evaluation standard and a selecting chart of composting recycling methods were designed by combining the practical experimental results with economic considerations, waste classification, and Delphi expert technique. 相似文献

Mineralization of C.I. Reactive Yellow 84 in aqueous solution by sonolytic ozonation 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
The operational parameters and mechanism of mineralization of C.I. Reactive Yellow 84 (RY84), one of the azo dyes, in aqueous solution were investigated using sonolytic ozonation (US/O(3) oxidation). Of the pseudo-first-order degradation rate constants of TOC reduction, 9.0 x 10(-4), 7.3 x 10(-3) and 1.8 x 10(-2)min(-1) were observed with US, O3, and a combination of US and O3, respectively. These results illustrate that ozonation combined with sonolysis for removal of TOC is more efficient than ozonation alone or ultrasonic irradiation alone without considering the operating costs. With the initial pH value at 10.0, the ozone dose at 4.5 g h(-1), the energy density of ultrasound at 176 W l(-1), and the initial concentration of RY84 at 100 mg l(-1), the extent of mineralization measured as TOC loss was maximized. The variation of the concentrations of related ions (oxalate, formate, acetate, NO3(-), NO2(-), NH4(+), Cl(-), and SO4(2-)) during the reaction process was monitored. Other organic intermediates detected by GC/MS were N-methyleneaniline, phthalic acid, 4-hydroxyphthalic acid, isocyanatobenzene, aniline, 4-iminocyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-one, butene diacid and urea. Biodegradation behavior of nonylphenol polyethoxylates (NPEOs) under Fe(III)-reducing conditions was investigated. The study demonstrated that NPEOs could be rapidly biodegraded under Fe(III)-reducing conditions. Almost 60% of the total NPEOs were removed within three days and the maximum biodegradation rate was 34.95+/-0.84 microM d(-1). NPEOs were degraded via sequential removal of ether units under Fe(III)-reducing conditions. No nonylphenol polyethoxy-carboxylates (NPECs) were formed in this process. This ether removal process was coupled to Fe(III) reduction. Nonylphenol (NP), nonylphenol monoethoxylate (NP1EO), and nonylphenol diethoxylate (NP2EO) slightly accumulated in the anaerobic biodegradation process. The accumulation of these estrogenic metabolites led to a significant increase in the estrogenic activity during the biodegradation period. The calculated estrogenic activity reached its top on day 14 when the total concentration of these estrogenic metabolites was maximal. This is the first report of the primary biodegradation behavior of NPEOs under Fe(III)-reducing conditions. These findings are of major environmental importance in terms of the environmental behavior of NPEO contaminants in natural environment. 相似文献

在实验室研究结果的基础上,建立了小型实际燃煤烟气脱硫试验装置,采用实际燃煤烟气进行了稀土氧化物催化还原烟气脱硫的试验,考察了空速、反应温度对脱硫率的影响。试验结果表明,在反应温度520~550℃、空速2800h。的条件下,脱硫率为99%,NOx的去除率为95%,SO2最高排放质量浓度为100mg/m^3,NOx最高排放质量浓度为50mg/m^3,符合GB13223-2003《火电厂大气污染物排放标准》2时段标准,与实验室的实验结果基本吻合。 相似文献

针对本试验垃圾渗滤液的水质特点和传统生物脱氮工艺存在的问题,结合目前国内外在该方向的研究现状,提出短程硝化反硝化处理垃圾渗滤液的新工艺。通过控制曝气池内溶解氧浓度平均在2.0 mg/L,温度(30±2)℃,实现了稳定的亚硝氮积累和较高的氨氮去除率,亚硝化率和氨氮去除率分别维持在83%和85%左右。试验结果表明,该工艺与传统生物脱氮工艺相比,污泥负荷明显增加,耗氧量和反硝化所需碳源减少,反硝化效率和速率明显提高,从而总氮去除率也显著提高。 相似文献

在1年的时间里在现场利用混合植物河岸带、无植物空白带对受污染河水进行处理.对COD、NH 4、TP、浊度和水温进行了监测,并比较了不同季节里混合植物带改善河水水质的效果.混合植物带在夏、秋季改善河水水质的效果好于冬、春季.混合植物带在夏季对COD、NH4 -N、TP和浊度的去除率分别为37.01%、69.21%、62.45%和99.17%,在冬季对河水水质也有一定程度的改善.混合植物带可以降低河水温度及河水早晚温差,起到改善局部水环境的作用.混合植物带与空白带的对比表明植物对去除水中污染物、改善局部水环境起着重要作用. 相似文献
