健康与快乐:作为可持续农业必要部分之一的动物福利

一个农业系统若要是可持续的,好的动物福利是必不可少的.尽管自从我们一开始驯养动物,对它们的健康和繁殖产生依赖,我们就一直在关注动物福利问题,但本文的焦点主要集中在自20世纪60年代以来围绕动物福利的争论的进展上.它将动物福利作为一门由一个社会关注的动物饲养方式问题演化而来的科学来呈现.而这些道德伦理上的关注使得动物福利的价值架构也必须被考虑在内.随着这一领域研究的不断发展,不同的动物福利的定义和研究实例被提出和讨论.比如,近几年来,消费者对动物友好产品(animal-friendly products)的消费方面的研究兴趣大增,一如过去的环境友好产品(environment friendly products);而这也刺激了研究重点从动物福利的实验研究转移至动物福利在实际中的应用和农场的动物福利监控上.传统上讲,这样的测量是基于资源的,比如计算最小饲养空间或者最大饲养密度,但现在的趋势是趋向于基于动物的测量,比如跛足动物的数量、身体状况等.     

Overestimates of black carbon in soils and sediments

Several recent reports suggest that black carbon (BC), which broadly encompasses charcoal, soot, and other forms of pyrogenic carbon, may constitute a significant proportion of the refractory carbon in soil and sedimentary organic matter. BC is a sink for biospheric and atmospheric carbon dioxide, and is intimately tied to the biogeochemical cycling of both carbon and oxygen through its role in organic matter cycling. Additionally, BC may represent a large fraction of the missing carbon sink in global carbon accounting. Here, we demonstrate that documented measurements of BC may be the result of methodological artifacts, which inadvertently overestimate the amount of BC. We found that a widely used thermal oxidative method can create a residue that falls under the operational definition of BC in samples that are relatively BC-free. Moreover, during this procedure, labile organic matter constituents are condensed into pyrogenic carbon, implying that the labile components are present in lesser quantities. These methodological deficiencies are promoting overestimates in the amount of refractory carbon in soil and sedimentary organic matter and may endorse inaccuracies in the rates of carbon fluxes, the mean residence times of terrestrial carbon, and organic matter burial rates in oceanic environments.     

上海市雨水污染控制初探

水环境的严重污染和饮用水资源的匮乏，已对上海市的持续发展构成了直接和潜在威胁。在借鉴国外雨水处理利用的研究，应用成果，综合考虑上海市水环境，城市建设及经济发展现状和地区特点的基础上，对上海地区城市雨水污染及其特性，控制雨水污染措施等作了阐述。     

BOD微生物传感器检测方法的研究

采用固定化微生物分散悬浮的方法，进行了BOD微生物传感器及其检测方法的研究。该传感器响应大、测量范围广、稳定性好，测定BOD时，线性响应范围为0-500mg/L，线性相关系统数达到0.99以上，且存在很好的重现性，响应时间在12min内。测定结果与BOD5标准方法具有良好的相关性，连续稳定地工作寿命在4个月以上。     

Body condition and immune response in wild zebra finches: effects of capture, confinement and captive-rearing

Behavioural ecologists attempt to predict fitness in birds from estimates of body condition and immune capacity. We investigated how the stresses associated with capture, confinement and captive-rearing of wild zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata) affected different elements of the immune system and body condition. Wild birds had higher heterophil:lymphocyte ratios and total leucocyte counts than aviary birds, presumably an outcome of mounting specific resistance to pathogens, but this response diminished significantly within 10 days of confinement. Wild birds had lower phytohaemagglutinin-A (PHA) responses than their aviary-bred counterparts possibly because energetic costs limited a general resistance response. Wild birds were heavier and had higher haematocrits than their aviary counterparts, but had less fat, although just 10 days of captivity significantly increased fat levels. Measures of body condition were of limited use for predicting immune responsiveness. We conclude that the different elements of the immune system and body condition respond independently, and often unpredictably, to many ecological and behavioural stressors.

将实验室研制的 HL 型旋流器用压力容器式方式并联起来 ,建立 10 0 0 t/ d规模的示范装置 ,并进行试验。示范装置的试验结果表明 ,与工业测试比较 ,HL型旋流器并没有因为规模的放大而造成性能下降 ,它能取代石化行业目前采用的“一隔二浮”流程中的大部分装置 ,具有明显的经济效益和广阔的应用前景     

中国污水资源化问题及对策

分析了我国水资源状况、水质现状和污染源治理情况,找出污水资源化存在的七个问题,提出六大对策,以便充分利用有限的水资源,减轻水体污染程度,促进国民经济持续、健康、稳定发展.     

感光胶片废水的水解酸化—好氧处理工艺试验

对感光胶片有机生产废水处理工艺进行了方法采用水解酸化－好氧串联工艺和传统活性污泥法两种方法并进行对照。结果经水解酸化处理，废水的ＢＯＤ５／ＣＯＤｃｒ可提高至０．５４－０．５６，平均增加了１７％左右，证实了水解酸化菌在该工艺条件下具有搞高效片废水可生化性的功能。
