The effect of chronic quinalphos exposure (0.025 mg/1) for 15 and 30 days on the levels of glucose, lactic acid and haemoglobin in the blood; glycogen and lactic acid contents of the liver and muscles; and the activities of hexokinase, lactate dehydrogenase, pyruvate dehydrogenase and succinate dehydrogenase in liver, kidney, intestine, brain, gills and muscles was examined. Blood glucose, lactic acid and haemoglobin levels decreased in quinalphos exposed fish. Glycogen content of liver and muscles increased but lactic acid decreased. Hexokinase was inhibited in intestine and muscles after 30 days of exposure but increase in enzyme activity was noted in gills. Lactate dehydrogenase activity was inhibited in all the six tissues. Pyruvate dehydrogenase activity of liver, kidney, gills and muscles was inhibited. However, in brain the enzyme activity was elevated. Succinate dehydrogenase activity was elevated in intestine and inhibited in other tissues.  相似文献

The adsorption of metals from aqueous solutions of Pb2+, Zn2+ and Mg2+ on naturally occurring pyrolusite have been studied. The chemical stability of the pyrolusite has been determined in NaOH, H2SO4, HNO3, HCl, NaCl and NK4Cl solutions of various concentrations. Adsorption of the metal ions followed the order Pb2+>Zn2+>Cd2+.The maximum adsorption of Pb2+ (100%) occurred at pH 7. the relation between the amount of Pb2+ adsorbed per unit weight of pyrolusite and the concentration of Pb2+ at equilibrium follows the Freundlich adsorption isotherm.The efficiency of pyrolusite has been demonstrated by removing lead from synthetic waste water. 100% and 96% removal of lead have been achieved from synthetic waste water containing 5 mg l–1 and 120 mg l–1 of Pb2+ respectively at pH 7. The results of these studies suggest that pyrolusite might provide an economical method for the removal of lead from industrial waste water.  相似文献

The effects of a novel phosphorothionate (RPR-V) synthesized at Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, was studied using three sub-chronic doses of 0.033 (low), 0.066 (medium) and 0.099 (high) mg kg(-1) in male and female rats for a period of 90 days. This long term and repeated treatment of RPR-V revealed that the membrane bound target enzymes Aspartate aminotransferase and Alanine aminotransferase increased significantly in serum and kidney, whereas these enzymes significantly decreased in liver and lung tissues when measured after 45 and 90 days of treatment. This compound also caused significant inhibition of RBC Acetylcholinesterase, target enzyme of organophosphorus compounds revealing its effect on normal synaptic transmission. Two way Anova studies disclosed that the alterations were mostly dose and time dependent, sexual dimorphism was not observed when the activities of male rats were compared with female rats. Enzyme recoveries were recorded after 28 days of post treatment, high degree positive correlation was observed with regard to these enzymes between serum versus kidney, whereas in case of serum versus liver and lung tissues high degree negative correlation was recorded. These enzyme profiles elucidates that they increased in serum but they decreased significantly in liver and lung indicating necrosis of these tissues. However, in case of kidney the level of these enzymes increased significantly with parallel to serum, which is suggestive of an increase synthesis of these enzymes, may be an adaptive mechanism due to the stress of the toxicant. These biomarker enzymes can be detected rapidly and hence may be used for the prediction and diagnosis of pesticide insults.  相似文献

One of the major disadvantages of polymers when used in food-contact applications is that they are very susceptible to microbial attack. On the other hand, silver nanoparticles have received increased attention as novel antimicrobial agents. Therefore, the introduction of silver nanoparticles into conventional polymers results in new materials with improved properties. In this investigation, colloidal silver nanoparticles using an environmentally friendly procedure were synthesized. An aqueous solution of AgNO3 was used as a silver precursor with ‘green’ reducing agents either different types of honey, or β-d-glucose. In the first case, different pH values, as well as the addition of poly(ethylene glycol), PEG were studied, while in the latter, the effect of reduction time in the presence of PEG with various average molecular weights was examined. Properties of the nanoparticles were measured using X-Ray diffraction, UV–Vis and FTIR spectroscopy. Using honey it seems that spherical particles are produced with the smaller average particle size obtained at pH 8.5. Use of honey has the advantage of being a natural product, although its main drawback is that its composition varies and it cannot be predefined to result in reproducible results. Use of β-d-glucose results in stable silver nanoparticles with small average particle size after 24 h reduction. The addition of low molecular weight PEG seems to be beneficial in the production of stable nanoparticles. Finally, the antimicrobial activity of the nanoparticles produced was investigated at different concentrations on both Gram positive and negative bacteria, such as Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.  相似文献

Aromatic amines were analysed by normal phase and reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography employing silica gel and octadecyl silane (ODS) columns, respectively. A number of mobile phases were used. The results obtained on silica gel column were compared with those achieved on reverse phase column. Excellent results were obtained on ODS and shoulder peaks were eliminated when a mixture of methyl alcohol and sodium perchlorate was used as mobile phase.  相似文献
