In the present study, response surface methodology (RSM) involving central composite design (CCD) was applied to optimize the reaction parameters of biodiesel production from yellow mustard (Sinapis alba L.) seed oil during the single-step transesterification process. A total of 30 experiments were designed and performed to determine under the effects of variables on the biodiesel yield such as methanol to oil molar ratio (2:1–10:1), catalyst concentration (0.2–1.0 wt.% NaOH), reaction temperature (50–70°C), and reaction time (30–90 min). The second order polynomial model was used to predict the biodiesel yield and coefficient of determination (R2) was found to be at 0.9818. The optimum biodiesel yield was calculated as 96.695% from the model with the following reaction conditions: 7.41:1 of methanol to oil molar ratio, 0.63 wt. % NaOH of catalyst concentration, 61.84°C of reaction temperature, and 62.12 min of reaction time. It is seen that the regression model results were in agreement with the experimental data. The results showed that RSM is a suitable statistical technique for optimizing the reaction parameters in the transesterification process in order to maximize the biodiesel yield.  相似文献

UV/Fenton, near-UV-visible/Fenton, dark Fenton, and H2O2/UV reactions have been used to treat simulated dyehouse effluents representing wastewater from the textile dyeing and rinsing process. Experiments were carried out in a lab - scale photochemical reactor using concentrations of 0.5–25 mM H2O2, 0.04-0.5 mM Fe2+-ion and different dilutions of textile wastewater. To assess the extent of mineralization, decolourization kinetics and the effect of different fight sources on treatment efficiency, DOC, optical density at 254 nm and 600 nm wavelength and residual H2O2 concentrations were measured during the course of the advanced oxidation reactions. Comparative evaluation of the obtained results revealed that the decolourization rate increased with applied H2O2 and Fe2+-ion dose as well as the strength of the synthetic textile wastewater. The best results were obtained by the near - UV/visible/Fenton process with a decolourization rate constant of 1.57 min−1, a UV254nm reduction of 97% and a DOC removal of 41% at relatively low doses of the H2O2 oxidant and Fe2+-ion catalyst within 60 min treatment time.  相似文献

The synthesis of 1,3,5-triazine-triethylenetetramine (TATETA), its characterization by infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis, and its application for removal of Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solution is reported. The effects of pH, contact time, initial concentration of Cr(VI), sorbent dose, and temperature on adsorption were investigated and optimized by batch adsorption experiments. Adsorption was highest at acidic conditions with an equilibration time of 25 min. The adsorption followed a Langmuir model, with an adsorption capacity of 303 mg g?1, was second order in its kinetics, and exothermic and thus spontaneous.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine the dust concentrations in selected tractor and combine operations in eastern Mediterranean region in Turkey Mean dust concentrations were 137.9 mg m(-3), 83.6 mg m(-3), 80.3 mg m(-3), and 88.8 mg m(-3) respectively for soil packing, furrowing, straw making, and baling on tractors with no cabins whereas 106.9 mg m(-3) was found in combines without cabins, which are much higher than the limit dust concentration (10 mg m(-3)) considered hazardous for workers' health. In tractor operations with field-installed cabins, mean dust concentrations were 5.6 mg m(-3), 6.6 mg m(-3), 6.4 mg m(-3), and 3.7 mg m(-3), respectively in soil packing, furrowing, straw making, and baling while 4.7 mg m(-3) was measured in combines with field-installed cabins. Considering unit-manufactured cabins, mean dust concentrations were 1.1 mg m(-3), 1.6 mg m(-3), 3.2 mg m(-3), and 1.4 mg m(-3) respectively in tractor operations, and 1.4 mg mr(-3) in combine operations. Variance analyses showed that not only the respiration environment of the workers but also the field operation had a significant effect on measured dust concentrations (p < 0.01). Pearson correlation coefficient was 0.74 (very strong level) between dust concentration and wind speed in soil packing, 0.46 (medium level) between dust concentration and wind speed in baling, and 0.44 (medium level) between dust concentration and ground speed in combining.  相似文献

FeSO4·xH2O is generated in large amounts in galvanizing workshops. It can be reutilized by conversion to Fe2O3. In this study, the recovery of Fe2O3 from FeSO4·xH2O formed in the galvanizing process has been examined. The experimental work was carried out at various temperatures and times in the oxidizing medium. The reaction temperatures and times were selected as 450, 500, 550, 600, 650, 700, 800 and 900°C, and 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minutes, respectively. In order to determine the amount of Fe2O3, a titrimetric method was applied. The reaction products were characterized by means of IR and XRD techniques.The extent of conversion is low at temperatures below 650°C. Almost all of the iron (II) sulfate in the original sample was converted to iron(III) oxide at 650°C (120 min), 700°C (90 min), 800°C (60 min) and 900°C (45 min).  相似文献

Atmospheric concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/F) compounds were investigated at three different regions of Istanbul which reflect urban, urban/industrial, and sub-urban characteristics. Air samples were collected simultaneously for both gaseous and particulate phases using high volume samplers on monthly time intervals from May 2011 to October 2012. The highest concentrations (3,056 fg/m3 and 156 fg I-TEQ/m3) were observed at the sampling site that reflects traffic, residential, and industrial emission source characteristics, while the lowest concentrations (829 fg/m3 and 38 fg I-TEQ/m3) were observed at the sampling point which is far away from centrum and reflects sub-urban characteristics. Concentrations of PCDD congeners were, in general, found to be higher than PCDF congeners, and OCDD, 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-HpCDD/F, and OCDF congeners were recorded to be the most abundant congeners. Winter season concentrations were also found to be higher especially in particulate phase. As a result, combustion processes such as motor vehicles and residential heating equipment were thought to be the principal sources of emissions of PCDD/F compounds when both congener profiles and seasonal variations are considered. Basic statistical evaluation of the data resembled high degree of inverse correlations between PCDD/F concentrations and UV and solar radiation.  相似文献
