Soil compaction in agriculture induced by large-scale equipment is of growing concern. Heavy wheel loads used in arable cropping have the potential to cause irreversible damage to the subsoil structure and may lead to harmful soil compaction. In order to sustain or improve soil health or fitness on a sustainable basis, indicators are needed to assess the changes in the soil structure and the respective soil functions. This requires an adequate verification of methods for distinguishing between the impairment of soil structure and the disruption of soil functions, and for the respective subject of protection. In this article the link between existing models of soil physical prognosis, practical guidelines, and criteria for the identification of affected soil structure is demonstrated, and a viable concept to distinguish harmful changes to the soil is presented. The concept consists of methods for soil physical analysis such as "pre-compression stress" and "loading ratio", practical recommendations for best management practice, and an indicator-based model for the identification of harmful subsoil compaction derived from a research project for the German Federal Environmental Agency, making it possible to determine for a respective location the required level of action far beyond the common practice of precautions against harmful soil compaction. 相似文献

For a risk assessment of wastes, fast and sensitive screening methods are required to detect possible toxic effects. In this study, different leachability methods (DIN 38414, part 4; EPA 1310; EPA 1320) were used to prepare aqueous leachates from different wastes; these leachates were rested in different bacterial toxicity test systems for possible toxic effects. As bacterial toxicity tests, the luminescent bacteria test and the growth inhibition test with activated sludge bacteria were used. The test systems showed a good agreement of the results from the different leaching methods, thereby indicating the reliability of the test systems used. The luminescent bacteria inhibition test showed a higher sensitivity than the growth inhibition test which is in good accordance with literature data. We conclude that both test systems are well suited to assess the toxic potential of aqueous waste leachates. 相似文献

农业土壤对自然水体中的硝酸盐含量有影响.从土壤中排出的高浓度的硝酸盐溶液关系到饮用水中硝酸盐的高浓度,同时,过量的硝酸盐还会改变河流、湖自的生态平衡.本文对通过改善农业措施减少硝酸盐淋溶这个重大环境问题进行了讨论.对农业土地硝酸盐淋溶的原因做了简略的解释,对于减少硝酸盐淋溶的现有措施做了描述、分析和评价.减少养分淋溶不是实施有机农业或传统农业所能解决的问题,而是应该通过引进和使用适当的对策来加以解决.为此,本文提出了最大限度地降低农业土壤养分淋溶的下述指导性原则,在某种程度上实施这些指导性原则需要一种新的观念:①在分析一个小流域内的养分淋溶时,应考虑到农田的环境指数和空间变异性对其的影响;②通过减少氮肥使用量和降低动物饲养密度,将土壤中的氮肥施用量降低到某一合理的水平,这一水平应稍低于土地预期最适产量的氮需求量;③依据不同地区耕作系统、土壤和气候对硝酸盐淋溶的敏感性,采取相应的对策来控制硝酸盐的淋溶,如作物间作、土地少耕或免耕、调节生物过程等. 相似文献

Riparian buffer zones are the only measure which has been used extensively in Sweden to reduce phosphorus losses from agricultural land. This paper describes how the FyrisSKZ web tool can be used to evaluate allocation scenarios using data from the Svärta River, an agricultural catchment located in central Sweden. Three scenarios are evaluated: a baseline, a uniform 6-m-wide buffer zone in each sub-catchment, and an allocation of areas of buffer zones to sub-catchments based on the average cost of reduction. The total P reduction increases by 30 % in the second scenario compared to the baseline scenario, and the average reduction per hectare increases by 90 % while total costs of the program fall by 32 %. In the third scenario, the average cost per unit of reduction (€163 kg P?1) is the lowest of the three scenarios (58 % lower than the baseline) and has the lowest total program costs. 相似文献

Two humic acids (HAs) were isolated from contaminated river sediments present under comparative conditions in the Pearl River
Basin, China. YFHA (the HA extracted at an open pyrite mining area in Yunfu) exhibited a lower absorption intensity for certain bands
in the Fourier transform infrared spectra, a lower E4/E6 value (the UV absorbances at 465 nm (E4) and 665 nm (E6)), a lower apparent
molecular weight, a lower polarity and a lower oxygen functionality in comparison with GZHA (the HA isolated at an urban living area
in Guangzhou). All these differences indicated a higher degree of humification of YFHA than GZHA. Overall, the enrichment patterns
of permanent heavy metals in the studied HAs were similar to those in corresponding sediments. In particular, YFHA exhibited high
enrichment of trace element Tl, a characteristic concomitant from the mining of the pyrite minerals. The adsorption isotherms of two
HAs for goethite and pyrolusite, two representative geological materials, conformed to the Langmuir equation. Based on the qualitative
relationships between the Langmuir constants of the adsorption isotherms and the chemical characteristics of HAs, the main mechanism
of HA adsorption on these materials was suggested to be hydrophobic interaction. This study highlighted the promising use of HA as a
peculiar bio-indicator of uncommon trace metal contaminations. The HA adsorption mechanism on representative geological materials

Typical leader peptide amino acid sequences, lipase consensus sequences (Gly-Xaa-Ser-Xaa-Gly), and unusually high proportions of threonine near the C terminus were found in PhaZ1, PhaZ2, and PhaZ3. Considering the biochemical data of the purified proteins and the amino acid sequences, PHA depolymerases ofP. lemoignei are most probably serine hydrolases containing a catalytical triad of Asp, His, and Ser similar to that of lipases. Plant available phosphorus in soil as predictor for the leaching potential: Insights from long-term lysimeter studies 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
This study aimed to demonstrate the impact of phosphorus (P) mineral fertilization on topsoil P content and P leaching. We evaluated 83 datasets from 25 years from lysimeter experiments involving different cropping systems (winter crop, summer crop and autumn tillage, harvested grass) or unfertilized fallow, four types of soil texture, and three levels of applied mineral P fertilizer. A positive monotonic and significant correlation was indicated between P in the topsoil determined by the double lactate method (P DL) and the yearly flow-weight total (TP) concentrations in leachates with Spearman rank correlations r s (r s > 0.183) and probability (p) < 0.05. The present German recommended rates of P mineral fertilization are proposed insufficient to protect fresh and marine waters from undesired P pollution and eutrophication. A long-term reduction of excess soil P is urgent along with other measures to mitigate high P inputs to surface and ground waters. 相似文献
