Approaches to assess the oral bioaccessibility of persistent organic pollutants: a critical review 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Oral bioaccessibility, also known as in vitro gastrointestinal extraction or the physiologically based extraction test (PBET), is an important tool when assessing the risk to humans from persistent organic pollutants (POPs) (and metals). The approach seeks to mimic the processes of human food digestion and thereby assess the bioavailability of POPs (and metals) from materials consumed either accidentally or intentionally in the diet. In vitro conditions are created to simulate various actions in the stomach and intestines (although some methods also include the mouth compartment). This paper reviews the current status of oral bioaccessibility with respect to the release of POPs from soil and related samples of environmental importance. Particular emphasis is placed on the parameters that influence gastrointestinal extraction including gastric and intestinal pH, enzymes, bile salts, food constituents and residence time. In addition, important developments in the use of in vitro gastrointestinal extraction are highlighted. These developments include the use of epithelial Caco-2 cells to mimic the intestinal cell lining, the potential for biotransformation of POPs into estrogenic metabolites as a result of colon microbiota, and the use of in vivo studies to validate existing approaches. 相似文献

人工快速渗滤系统(CRI)是在传统的污水快速渗滤处理系统(RI)的基础上发展起来的一种新型的污水土地处理技术.通过对CRI的模拟,揭示了非生物机制与生物机制对有机物、营养元素的降解机制.结果表明,CRI对污水中污染物的去除是在非生物机制与生物机制协同作用下完成的.对污水中的有机物和氮的降解以生物机制为主、非生物机制为辅;对磷的降解则以非生物机制为主、生物机制为辅.生物机制对有机物、氮的去除占70%以上,非生物机制对磷的去除占61.9%.系统中氮转化以硝化效果为主,反硝化效果较弱. 相似文献

针铁矿在自然界中广泛存在,对重金属离子在地表的迁移和转化有重要影响.利用天然生物矿化针铁矿进行了Cr(Ⅲ)吸附研究,并利用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)和X射线光电子能谱(XPS)等对吸附后的样品进行表征,发现样品中铬的含量随着Al2O3含量的增加而增加,说明表面带负电荷的含高岭土等的粘土较针铁矿对Cr(Ⅲ)有更强的吸附能力.样品的XPS研究表明,NO3-也参与了反应,且促进了Cr(Ⅲ)的氧化.研究还发现,Cr(Ⅲ)在针铁矿上的吸附不均匀,与文献报道的情况不同. 相似文献

比较了臭氧(O3)和高锰酸盐复合药剂(PPC)对水源水预氧化的助凝效果及其对后续陶粒生物过滤净水效能的影响.结果表明,两种预氧化剂投加量均为2 mg/L时,PPC的助凝效果较为明显,浊度和溶解性有机碳(DOC)的去除率分别由未投加氧化剂时的85.7%和24.2%提高到88.3Z和35.2%;O3能够增加沉淀后水的可生化性,使特征紫外吸光度(SUVA)由0.97L/(m·mg)降至0.89 L/(m·mg).PPC预氧化有助于生物过滤对浊度的稳定去除,而O3预氧化则有助于生物过滤对DOC的去除.与O3预氧化相比,PPC预氧化有利于后续生物过滤运行初期对NH4 -N的去除,二者后续生物过滤在前3个月对NH4 -N的平均去除率分别为26.6%和73.1%,运行后期二者NH4 -N去除率接近.当进水NH4 -N大于2.0 mg/L时,DO是其去除的主要限制因素. 相似文献

Background Since the 1970s, at least 200 hectares (ha) of farmland has been polluted by the heavy metal cadmium (Cd).Consequently, the
Cd pollution has led to contaminate the rice production and caused acute social panic. According to the recent investigation
results performed by the Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration (TEPA), it is indicated that most of the Cd pollution
incidents in Taiwan resulted from the wastewater discharge of stearate Cd factories. To prevent the Cd pollution incidents
from spreading, the TEPA has either forced these factories to close down or assisted them in improving their production processes
since the 1980s. Unfortunately, accidental incidents of Cd pollution still emerge in an endless stream, despite the strict
governmental controls placed on these questionable factories. Whether this pollution has resulted from undetected or hidden
pollution sources stemming from two decades ago or comes from some new source, will be an outstanding issue. Therefore, this
study attempts to identify the pollution sources of Cd in soil in Taiwan as well as to find the solution to the above-mentioned,
outstanding issue by way of a methodology termed Material Flow Analysis (MFA).
Method logy. The MFA has proved to be a useful tool on providing quantitative information of the flow of substances through an economic
to an environmental system. Based upon the supply-and-demand theory of MFA, researchers have successfully conducted an overview
of the use of materials in many industries, the construction industry being one of these. Therefore, this study tries to establish
a set of analytical processes by way of MFA for identifying the pollution source of Cd in soil in Taiwan. In addition, the
spirit of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) technique was also employed to identify the materials, and products should be ignored
as a crucial pollution source in this study.
Results and Discussion According to the MFA methodology applied in this study and on the basis of related studies performed by Taiwanese governmental
authorities, we arrive at the following analysis results: (1) the total amount of Cd from the economic perspective of material
and product flow was approximately 441.2 tons; (2) the wastewater directly discharged into irrigation water can be concluded
to be the major pollution route of Cd in farmland soil in Taiwan; (3) material plastic stabilizer (cadmium oxide, CdO), Zn-Pd
compounds and Cu compounds should be the crucial pollution sources to contaminate environment through the route of wastewater
in Cd flow analysis; (4) the crucial pollution sources to contaminate environment through the route of wastewater in Cd flow
analysis were five factories, Coin, Jili, Taiwan Dye, Guangzheng and Mingguan, and they were all categorized as stearate Cd
industries; (5) the typical source of the Cd pollution in soil in Changhua County through the pollution route of wastewater
should be the metal surfacing process industries.
Conclusions This study proved that MFA can be a good tool for identifying Cd flow as well as for recognizing the crux of the problem
concerning incidents of Cd pollution. This study led to the conclusion that the causal relationship between farmland pollution
caused by Cd and stearate Cd factories in Taiwan seemed quite close by way of MFA methodology. In addition, this study also
found that the wastewater discharged from a single metal surfacing process factory will not cause remarkable farmland pollution.
However, the wastewater simultaneously discharged from a group of pollution factories can result in a significant pollution
incident.
Recommendations and Outlook This case study is only a small contribution to the understanding of the toxic material flow related to Cd in the environment.
This study recommends that Taiwanese governmental authorities should not deal with problems on an ad hoc basis, but should
instead deal with Cd pollution problems overall employing control measures. Finally, the more accurate information or data
we can collect, the more reliable results we can identify. Therefore, the quality and quantity of related data used in this
MFA model should be closely scrutinized in order to ensure the most correct and comprehensive investigation on the toxic material

An arsenic speciation study has been performed in PM10 samples collected on a fortnight basis in the city of Huelva (SW Spain) during 2001 and 2002. The arsenic species were extracted from the PM10 filters using a NH2OH x HCl solution and sonication, and determined by HPLC-HG-AFS. The mean bulk As concentration of the samples analyzed during 2001 and 2002 slightly exceed the mean annual 6 ng m(-3) target value proposed by the European Commission for 2013, arsenate [As(V)] being responsible for the high level of arsenic. The speciation analyses showed that As(V) was the main arsenic species found, followed by arsenite [As(III)] (mean 6.5 and 7.8 ng m(-3) for As(V), mean 1.2 and 2.1 ng m(-3) for As(III), in 2001 and 2002, respectively). The high levels of arsenic species found in PM10 in Huelva have a predominant industrial origin, such as the one from a nearby copper smelter, and do not present a seasonal pattern. The highest daily levels of arsenic species correspond to synoptic conditions in which the winds with S and SW components transport the contaminants from the main emission source. The frequent African dust outbreaks over Huelva may result in an increment of mass levels of PM10, but do not represent a significant input of arsenic in comparison to the anthropogenic source. The rural background levels of arsenic around Huelva are rather high, in comparison to other rural or urban areas in Spain, showing a relatively high atmosphere residence time of arsenic. 渗滤液原液回灌易导致填埋垃圾产甲烷过程的滞后,从而对甲烷收集利用产生不利影响。通过3根实验室模拟生物反应器,研究了原液回灌(C1)、渗滤液好氧预处理后回灌(C2)和原液回灌+垃圾层上部通风曝气(C3)3种填埋方式下的填埋气产气规律。结果表明,C1甲烷浓度经历短暂上升,达到19.5%后开始逐渐降低,产甲烷速率和产甲烷总量均很低;C2甲烷浓度逐渐上升,在第121天时甲烷浓度达到50%,产甲烷最高速率和产甲烷总量分别为0.31 L/(kg·d)和25.2 L/kg。在停止上部垃圾层通风曝气后,C3甲烷浓度迅速上升,在81 d时甲烷浓度便达到50%以上,最大产甲烷速率和产甲烷总量分别为0.22 L/(kg·d)和16.0 L/kg。对各模拟柱填埋气可回收性评价结果表明,C3填埋气可回收利用比例最高,C2略低,C1在实验期间内则无可回收利用气体产生。 相似文献
