Tissues of foetus-mother pairs of common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) stranded along the French coasts (Bay of Biscay and English Channel) were analysed for their Cd, Cu, Hg, Se and Zn contents. In the kidneys, foetal Cd levels were extremely low, and strong relationships between Cu and Zn suggested the involvement of metallothioneins since early foetal life. The results also indicated a limited maternal transfer of Hg during pregnancy since levels in the tissues of foetuses were below 1 microg g(-1) w.wt. However, hepatic Hg levels in foetuses increased with body length, and were also proportionate to maternal hepatic, renal and muscular Hg levels. Lastly, affinities between Hg and Se in tissues would participate in Hg neutralisation in both mothers--through tiemannite granules--and fetuses--through reduced glutathione--counteracting the toxic effects linked to the particularly high quantities of methyl-Hg to which marine mammals are naturally exposed.  相似文献

This study aimed to (i) evaluate whether the K(d) value of selenium is dependent upon the soil microbial activity and (ii) define the limitation of the use of the K(d) concept to describe selenium behaviour in soils when assessing the long-term radiological waste disposal risk. K(d) coefficients, as well as information on selenite speciation in the soil-solution, were derived from short- and long-term batch experiments with a calcareous silty clay soil in various microbial states. Soil microbial activity induced (i) an increase of the K(d) value from 16 l kg(-1) in sterile conditions to 130 l kg(-1) when the soil was amended with glucose and nitrate, and (ii) changes in selenium speciation both in the solution (presence of seleno-species other than free Se(IV)) and in the solid phase (Se linked to microorganisms). Although the K(d) coefficient adequately reflects the initial fractionation between soil-solid and soil-solution, it does not allow for speciation and microbial processes, which could affect reversibility, mobility and the long-term accumulation and uptake into crops.  相似文献

By using optical microscope, the microstructures of 5083/6082 friction stir welding (FSW) weld and parent materials were analyzed. Meanwhile, at ambient temperature and in 0.2 mol/L NaHS03 and 0.6 mol/L NaCl solutionby gravimetric test, potentiodynamic polarization curve test, electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation, the electrochemical behavior of 5083/6082 friction stir welding weld and parent materials were comparatively investigated by gravimetric test, potentiodynamic polarization curve test, electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation. The results indicated that at given processing parameters, the anti-corrosion property of the dissimilar weld was superior to those of the 5083 and 6082 parent materials.  相似文献

Tungsten inert gas-metal inert gas (TIG-MIG) hybrid welding process is an effective way to improve welding productivity and quality due to advantages of the two processes. Mathematical analysis is crucial to fundamentally understand this synergetic welding process. In this study, based on experimental visualization of arc behaviors, some assumptions are proposed to deduce adaptive plane and volumetric heat source models separately for each involved welding method first. The influence of torch angles on distribution of temperature and geometry of weld bead are calculated and compared with experimental results. It shows that this developed algorithm of heat source can be employed to accurately predict welding process whether the electrode gun is slanted backward or forward to the direction of welding. Then TIG-MIG hybrid welding process is simulated and analyzed without considering the attractive or repulsive force of two arcs. The characteristic of TIG-MIG welding process is discussed compared to single MIG. It lays the foundation for the further research on the interaction of the two arcs during TIG-MIG hybrid welding.  相似文献

The basal non-mammaliaform cynodonts from the late Permian (Lopingian) and Early Triassic are a major source of information for the understanding of the evolutionary origin of mammals. Detailed knowledge of their anatomy is critical for understanding the phylogenetic transition toward mammalness and the paleobiological reconstruction of mammalian precursors. Using micro-computed tomography (μCT), we describe the internal morphology of the interorbital region that includes the rarely fossilized orbitosphenoid elements in four basal cynodonts. These paired bones, which are positioned relatively dorsally in the skull, contribute to the wall of the anterior part of the braincase and form the floor for the olfactory lobes. Unlike procynosuchids and the more basal therapsids in which the orbitosphenoids are well developed, dense, and bear a ventral keel, the basal epicynodonts Cynosaurus, Galesaurus, and Thrinaxodon display cancellous, reduced, and loosely articulated orbitosphenoids, a condition shared with many eucynodonts. The hemi-cylindrical orbitosphenoid from which the mammalian condition is derived re-evolved convergently in traversodontid and some probainognathian cynodonts.  相似文献

Differential migration has been extensively reported in spring, but less so in autumn, particularly in relation to sex in monomorphic bird species. Here, we analysed the autumn passage of a monomorphic, globally threatened passerine, the Aquatic Warbler Acrocephalus paludicola throughout Western Europe, with regard to age and sex. We showed that, overall, adults migrated earlier than first-year birds, and males migrated earlier than females during the autumn migration. This may be caused by an overall social dominance of adults over immatures, and differentiated migration strategy of males and females. In addition, we found male-skewed sex proportions, with a tendency to an equalised ratio in more southern stopover sites. This may indicate a male bias in the global population or different migration strategies of the sexes. Differential migration may cause the age and sex classes to be exposed differently to various threats affecting demographic structure of the species.  相似文献

Cloud and rain water samples were collected on board aircraft by specially designed equipment, during three monsoon seasons, 1983, 1984 and 1985 in the Pune region in India. The samples were analyzed for major ionic components and pH, and the concentrations of all the ionic components were found to be significantly higher (35–161%) in cloud water than in rain water. In cloud water Cl contributed most (35%) to the total ionic concentration followed by Ca(21%) and Na(17%). Sulphate and nitrate concentrations, on the average, were low and were found to account for only 6% of the total ionic concentration. pH of cloud water and rain water was substantially higher than that of the CO2-equilibrated value (5.6). The findings suggest that influence of anthropogenic sources is negligible and that of soil dust which is alkaline is substantial on the pH and chemistry of cloud/rain water in India.  相似文献

Environmental test chambers are an important tool in the characterization of organic emissions from solid consumer and construction products and in the evaluation of their potential impact on indoor air quality. The results of extensive research concerning formaldehyde (CH2O) emissions from such products strongly support this application of environmental chambers to measure product emissions and provide useful input for the design of environmental chamber studies. The physical design and test methodology for environmental chambers are strongly influenced by several elements in a comprehensive project plan for source characterization, including the selection process for test samples and the mathematical models used to interpret the organic emissions data. The protocol for environmental chamber testing extends broadly from the acquisition, preparation and conditioning of test specimens, to the selection and control of environmental test conditions, and to the calibration and measurement of system parameters and organic emissions. The requirements for environmental control inside the test chamber can be estimated from the sensitivity of the organic emission rates of the test products (e.g. CH2O emissions from pressed-wood products) to variation in environmental parameters. The cost of the numerous, multiple-organic analyses required for environmental chamber testing of solid emitters is seen as a strong limitation to product selection strategies and modeling efforts. The modeling of organic emissions from solid emitters can be both a planning tool for development of chamber test methodology and a means to interpret test chamber results.  相似文献

Two families of mathematical models are proposed to represent either the concentration of a gaseous emission in or the accumulated amount exiting from a well-mixed, environmentally controlled test chamber. A thin film model, which seems applicable to such sources as carpet adhesive, etc., has the capability of isolating the true emission rate constant from chamber effects. It has successfully modeled emissions of methyl ethyl ketone, a C8 alcohol, and butyl propionate from latex caulk. Chamber effects in the form of temporary wall retention were identified for the latter two compounds. An analogous, deep source, diffusionlimited model for plywood, etc., once fitted to a data set, can be used to generalize to other combinations of source surface area, chamber volume, and air exchange rate.  相似文献

Mixing ratios for NO and NO2 were measured during 1980/1981 at Deuselbach, a rural site in Germany. The data are analyzed with regard to the occurrence of nocturnal NO signals and their origins. Anthropogenic influences arising from road traffic and home heating activities are identified by their dependence on wind direction. An additional non-directional component is found to exist. It shows up most frequently in summer and when it occurs, the NO mixing ratio increases with rising temperature indicating a biological origin of night-time NO. The temporal behavior of night-time NO is usually correlated with that of CO2 but anticorrelated to that of O3. This shows that NO is brought upwards to the air intake of the NOx monitor from lower levels and that the source of the non-directional component of nocturnal NO is the earth's surface. The release of NO from soils is known from other work and this process is probably also responsible for the present observations. A flux estimate agrees with soil fluxes reported by other authors. The accumulation of NO in the surface air layer under stagnant conditions leads to the appearance of a morning peak of NO after sunrise when increased vertical mixing brings NO rich air up to the monitoring level. During summer, the morning peak may override the NO peak expected to occur at noon due to the photodissociation of NO2.  相似文献
