Lab scale mulch biofilm barriers were constructed and tested to evaluate their performance for preventing the migration of aqueous and surfactant solubilized PAHs. The spatial distribution of viable PAH degrader populations and resultant biofilm formation were also monitored to evaluate the performance of the biobarrier and the prolonged surfactant effect on the PAH degrading microorganism consortia in the biobarrier. Sorption and biodegradation of PAHs resulted in stable operation of the system for dissolved phenanthrene and pyrene during 150 days of experimentation. The nonionic surfactant could increase the solubility of phenanthrene and pyrene significantly. However, the biobarrier itself couldn't totally prevent the migration of micellar solubilized phenanthrene and pyrene. The presence of surfactant and the resultant highly increased phenanthrene or pyrene concentration didn't appear to cause toxic effects on the attached biofilm in the biobarrier. However, the presence of surfactant did change the structural composition of the biofilm.  相似文献

The effects of cycle time on the biodegradation of the azo dye remazol brilliant violet 5R (RBV-5R) were investigated in an anaerobic–aerobic sequencing batch reactor (SBR). System performance was determined by monitoring chemical oxygen demand (COD), color, anaerobic enzyme (azo reductase) and aerobic enzyme (catechol 2,3-dioxygenase), and aromatic amine concentration. SBR was operated in three different total cycle times (48 h, 24 h and 12 h), fed with a synthetic textile wastewater. In this study, the anaerobic period of SBR was found to allow the reductive decolorization of azo dye and the aerobic period was found to be effective on further COD removal after the anaerobic period. The percentage reductions in color by the anaerobic stage of the SBR were at 72%, 89% and 86% for the 24-h, 12-h and 6-h cycle times, respectively. Total COD removal efficiencies were over 75% for all operational conditions and about 70% of the COD removal was achieved in the first 3 h of anaerobic stages. During the decolorization of RBV-5R, two sulfonated aromatic amines (benzene-based and naphthalene-based) were formed and detected by HPLC. Aerobic phases of SBR with total cycle times of 48 h, 24 h and 12 h were able to remove benzene-based aromatic amines with removal efficiency of 64%, 92% and 89%, respectively. The results indicated that the best SBR performance in terms of color removal and aromatic amine degradation was achieved from total cycle time of 24 h.  相似文献

Technical developments have now made it possible to emplace granular zero-valent iron (Fe(0)) in fractured media to create a Fe(0) fracture reactive barrier (Fe(0) FRB) for the treatment of contaminated groundwater. To evaluate this concept, we conducted a laboratory experiment in which trichloroethylene (TCE) contaminated water was flushed through a single uniform fracture created between two sandstone blocks. This fracture was partly filled with what was intended to be a uniform thickness of iron. Partial treatment of TCE by iron demonstrated that the concept of a Fe(0) FRB is practical, but was less than anticipated for an iron layer of uniform thickness. When the experiment was disassembled, evidence of discrete channelised flow was noted and attributed to imperfect placement of the iron. To evaluate the effect of the channel flow, an explicit Channel Model was developed that simplifies this complex flow regime into a conceptualised set of uniform and parallel channels. The mathematical representation of this conceptualisation directly accounts for (i) flow channels and immobile fluid arising from the non-uniform iron placement, (ii) mass transfer from the open fracture to iron and immobile fluid regions, and (iii) degradation in the iron regions. A favourable comparison between laboratory data and the results from the developed mathematical model suggests that the model is capable of representing TCE degradation in fractures with non-uniform iron placement. In order to apply this Channel Model concept to a Fe(0) FRB system, a simplified, or implicit, Lumped Channel Model was developed where the physical and chemical processes in the iron layer and immobile fluid regions are captured by a first-order lumped rate parameter. The performance of this Lumped Channel Model was compared to laboratory data, and benchmarked against the Channel Model. The advantages of the Lumped Channel Model are that the degradation of TCE in the system is represented by a first-order parameter that can be used directly in readily available numerical simulators.  相似文献

Selected results from the degradation of reactive-dye hydrolysates after UV irradiation, ozonation and sodium peroxodisulphate (NaPS) treatment are presented. Reactive dyes with representative chromophores and anchor groups were chosen for the research project. Different stages of oxidative decolourisation were examined and determined by water parameters for biological degradation (BOD). The paper focuses on toxicity tests with Pseudomonas putida to consider whether the oxidative treatments result in products with a risk for the environment. Tests were performed with the AQUALYTIC® Sensomat System, which measures biological oxygen demand (BOD). It was determined that the chosen oxidative treatments had as a rule no bearing on respiration of P. putida. Experiments with hydrolysates after short-term UV irradiation resulted in a slightly increased but not long-lasting toxicity in comparison with treatments with ozone or NaPS. Toxic effects were found in tests with hydrolysates of metalliferous dyes. During oxidative treatment, metals were liberated from the chromophores. This did cause complete inhibition of respiration of P. putida. Dye Blue E, a member of a dye class with chlorotriazine anchor groups, was itself found to be toxic, caused by the reactivity of the anchor group. The hydrolysate is only of minor toxicity.  相似文献

采用溶胶-凝胶和水蒸气活化热处理技术制备了介孔TiO2纤维,考察了各种因素对介孔TiO2纤维光催化活性的影响,并对介孔TiO2纤维结构进行了表征。介孔TiO2纤维的最佳制备条件:n(TBOT)∶n(C6H10O3)∶n(H2O)∶n(C3H8O)=1∶0.4∶2.0∶16,搅拌时间80min,Si与Ti的摩尔比为0.15,采用分段程序升温工艺,活化温度为700℃。所得介孔TiO2纤维比表面积为127.7m2/g,最可几孔径为7.3nm,具有极高的热稳定性及抗晶型转变能力,反应时间75min时活性艳红X-3B降解率为99.3%。  相似文献

研究了活性炭纤维从水溶液中吸附4种活性染料(活性艳红K-2BP、活性翠蓝KN-G、活性金黄K-3RP、活性黑KN-B)的吸附特性,从动力学角度探讨了吸附机理.结果表明,活性炭纤维对4种染料的平衡吸附量qe均随着初始浓度和温度的增加而升高,相同条件下,qe的大小顺序为:活性艳红>活性金黄>活性黑>活性翠蓝.吸附过程符合伪二级吸附速率方程,染料分子的空间结构、大小和极性是影响初始吸附速率的主要因素.活性炭纤维对4种染料的吸附活化能都比较低,依次为16 .42、3 .56、5 .21和26 .38 kJ·mol-1,说明吸附过程以物理吸附为主.  相似文献

采用单独紫外光氧化降解偶氮染料直接耐酸大红(4BS),研究了不同因素对4BS光解效果的影响,并初步考察了光解对4BS溶液总氮的去除效果. 结果表明,单独紫外光氧化法对4BS及溶液中的总氮有一定的去除效果. 在非强碱性条件下,4BS的光解过程符合准一级反应动力学模型. 速率常数随紫外光强的增强而增大,并且与初始ρ(4BS)呈负相关关系. 溶液pH是影响光解反应的重要因素,速率常数随pH升高而增加显著,强碱性条件下光解速率最快. 光解对溶液中总氮的去除分为三步,含氮结构的发色基团易吸收紫外光,在反应初期被降解而生成气态含氮物,生成的中间产物比较稳定,需要经过一段时间的能量积累才能继续降解,从而总氮的去除率再次升高.   相似文献

基于二次金汞齐结合冷原子荧光测定法对红枫湖活性汞(RHg)和溶解气态汞(DGM)的时空分布特征及其控制因素进行了研究. 红枫湖溶解气态汞含量(ρ(DGM))为0.024~0.110 ng/L,随着水深的增加ρ(DGM)降低,且夏季高,冬季低,这种分布特征表明光在原子态汞的形成中起着重要的作用. 红枫湖ρ(DGM)除受光强影响外,还受到春季后五大量生长的藻类影响,但与溶解性有机碳含量(ρ(DOC))及温度的相关性不大. 活性汞含量(ρ(RHg))为0.14~2.70 ng/L,其主要受Hg2+的光致还原过程,Hg2+的甲基化过程以及人为源的释放等因素的控制.   相似文献

Activated carbon was produced from olive stones(OSAC) by a physical process in two steps. The adsorption character of this activated carbon was tested on three colour dyes molecules in aqueous solution: Methylene blue(MB), Rhodamine B(RB) and Congo Red(CR). The adsorption equilibrium was studied through isotherms construction at 30℃, which were well described by Langmuir model. The adsorption capacity on the OSAC was estimated to be 303 mg/g, 217 mg/g and 167 mg/g respectively for MB, RB and CR. This activated carbon has a similar adsorption properties to that of commercial ones and show the same adsorption performances. The adsorption kinetics of the MB molecule in aqueous solution at different initial concentrations by OSAC was also studied. Kinetic experiments were well fitted by a simple intra-particle diffusion model. The measured kinetics constant was influenced by the initial concentration and we found the following correlation: Kid = 1.55 C0^0.51.  相似文献

A laboratory-scale study with a sand column was designed to simulate trichloroethylene(TCE) pollution in the aquifer environment with three-section controlled-release potassium permanganate(CRP) barriers.The main objective of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of CRP barriers in remediation of TCE in aquifers in a long-term and controlled manner.CRP particles with a 1:3 molar ratio of KMnO 4 to stearic acid showed the best controlled-release properties in pure water,and the theoretical release time was 138.5 days.The results of TCE removal in the test column indicated that complete removal efficiency of TCE in a sand column by three-section CRP barriers could be reached within 15 days.The molar ratio of KMnO 4 to TCE in the three-section CRP barriers was 16:1,which was much lower than 82:1 as required when KMnO 4 solution is used directly to achieve complete destruction of TCE.This result revealed that the efficiency of CRP for remediation of TCE was highly improved after encapsulation.  相似文献
