This paper presents the chemical speciation and retention behavior of chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), and cadmium (Cd) prior to
and after the electrokinetic remediation in glacial till soil. The speciation of the metals was predicted using the chemical
speciation program MINEQL+. The simulations were performed for single-contaminant with only Cr(VI) or Ni, and multi-contaminants consisting of: (1)
Cr(VI), Ni, and Cd; (2) Cr(III), Ni and Cd; (3) Cr(VI), Cr(III), Ni and Cd; (4) Cr(VI), Ni, and Cd with reducing agents; and
(5) Cr(III), Ni, and Cd with oxidizing agent (Mn). The results showed that the speciation and distribution of cationic metals
[Ni, Cd, and Cr(III)] in glacial till soil remain unaffected or slightly affected during electrokinetics. This is attributed
to the high pH buffering capacity of the glacial till, leading the metals to precipitate in the soil prior to and after electrokinetics.
This study showed that during electrokinetics, Cr(VI) existed as anionic complex and migrated towards the anode and the migration
is maximum in case of a single-contaminant system. The study also showed that near the anode in the absence of any reducing
and oxidizing agent, Cr(VI) mostly adsorbed, and some of Cr(VI) reduced to Cr(III) and migrated towards the cathode and finally
precipitated due to high pH conditions. Ni and Cd remain adsorbed or precipitated due to the high pH conditions throughout
the soil. Among the reducing agents, the sulfide had significant effect on the migration of metals compared to ferrous ions.
While in the presence of oxidizing agent (Mn), no noticeable Cr(VI) was found in the soil sample indicating the reduction
of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) and the predominance of reducing conditions due to the presence of naturally occurring iron in the glacial
till soil. Overall, this study provides a reasonable explanation of the speciation and distribution of chromium, nickel and
cadmium during the electrokinetic remediation of glacial till soil. 相似文献

Simazine is a s-triazine herbicide that has been applied worldwide for agriculture. This herbicide is the second most commonly detected pesticide in surface and groundwater in the United States, Europe and Australia. In this study, simazine adsorption behaviour was studied in two agricultural soils of the Aconcagua valley, central Chile. The two studied soils were soil A (loam, 8.5% organic matter content) and soil B (clay-loam, 3.5% organic matter content). Three times higher simazine adsorption capacity was observed in soil A (68.03 mg kg−1) compared to soil B (22.03 mg kg−1). The simazine adsorption distribution coefficients (Kd) were 9.32 L kg−1 for soil A and 7.74 L kg−1 for soil B. The simazine adsorption enthalpy in soil A was −21.0 kJ mol−1 while in soil B the adsorption enthalpy value was −11.5 kJ mol−1. These results indicate that simazine adsorption process in these soils is exothermic, governing H bonds the adsorption process of simazine in both the loam and clay-loam soils. These results and the potentiometric profiles of both soils, suggest that simazine adsorption in soil A is mainly governed by simazine–organic matter interactions and in soil B by simazine–clay interactions. The understanding of simazine sorption–desorption processes is essential to determine the pesticide fate and availability in soil for pest control, biodegradation, runoff and leaching. 相似文献

论文以MTCLIM模型为基础,根据中国的实际情况,对模型的参数进行了优化与调整,建立了适合我国的基于温度、降水和相对湿度等因子的太阳总辐射计算模式。提出了太阳总辐射空间化的模式,即先参数化,然后采用合适的空间插值方法(论文中采用地统计学方法)实现空间化。同时鉴于逐日太阳总辐射空间化工作量庞大,提出了在计算月均日结果的基础之上,采用线性插值技术快速得到逐日太阳辐射值。从而得到了中国太阳总辐射的空间分布结果。 相似文献

Thirteen soils collected from 11 provinces in eastern China were used to investigate the butachlor adsorption. The results indicated that the total organic carbon (TOC) content, clay content, amorphous Fe2O3 content, silt content, CEC, and pH had a combined effect on the butachlor sorption on soil. Combination of the data obtained from the 13 soils in the present study with other 23 soil samples reported by other researchers in the literature showed that Koc would be a poor predictive parameter for butachlor adsorption on soils with TOC content higher than 4.0% and lower than 0.2%. The soils with the ratio of clay content to TOC content (RCO) values less than 60 adsorbed butachlor mainly by the partition into soil organic matter matrix. The soils with RCO values higher than 60 apparently adsorbed butachlor by the combination of the partition into soil organic matter matrix and adsorption on clay surface. 相似文献

Methane (CH4) formation under aerobic conditions has been intensely debated, especially since the discovery of CH4 generation by both dried plant material and living plants. In this study we test the hypothesis that non-microbial CH4 formation also occurs in soils. All lyophilised soil samples investigated under aerobic conditions released CH4 at temperatures ranging from 30 to 70 °C exceeding that allowing normal enzymatic activity to proceed. No emissions were observed for single mineral soil components such as quartz sand, clay mineral and iron oxide. Methane release rates from the soils investigated were found to increase both with increasing temperature and higher organic carbon content. Addition of water to dried soils increased CH4 release rates up to 8-fold those observed with the dried material. Our results suggest the existence of a chemical process in soils that produces CH4 under aerobic conditions, a finding which has not been hitherto reported. 相似文献

基于电学法无二次污染、操作易掌握和费用低等特点,提出了4种用于垃圾填埋场人工衬层渗漏检测的电学方法:电阻法、电流法、感应电势差法和远距离参比电极感应法。其原理都是利用垃圾和土壤有一定的水分而具有的导电性,以及一般用作人工衬层(俗称土工膜)的高密度聚乙烯绝缘材料。通过实验指出电阻法只能检测到是否有漏洞,不能判断漏洞的位置;电流法是一种一次性方法,只能判断一次是否有漏洞,也不能够定位漏洞;感应电势差法有很好的发展前景;远距离参比电极感应法的检测效果非常好。 相似文献

Synthesized hydroxyapatite/clay (HA-C) and hydroxyapatite/pumice (HA-P) composites were used for tetracycline (TC) uptake studies from aqueous solution and their uptake capacities were compared. HA-C and HA-P composites were synthesized by precipitation method and the structures of the synthesized composites were characterized by XRD, SEM and BET analyses. Cation exchange capacities of HA-C and HA-P were found to be 84 meq/100 g and 33 meq/100 g, respectively. The TC adsorption using HA-C and HA-P was studied on batch mode. Various parameters such as contact time, solution pH, initial TC concentration, composite dosage, salinity and temperature were optimized. Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin–Radushkevich (D–R) isotherm models were applied to the equilibrium data. The maximum adsorption capacity onto HA-C was found to be 76.02 mg/g and about four times larger than the adsorption capacity of the HA-P (17.87 mg/g). The results indicated that the TC uptake onto HA-C and HA-P composites is mainly by a surface complexation and ion-exchange mechanism which depend on the solution pH. The calculated values of thermodynamic parameters indicated that the TC adsorption is favorable, physicochemical in nature. The sorption process follows pseudo-second-order and intraparticle diffusion kinetic models. The TC adsorption mechanism by HA-C and HA-P has been proposed. 相似文献
