In the coastal karstic region of SW Sardinia, from Capo Pecora in the north to Nebida in the south, many interesting geological
monuments, ecotopes and several places of social and cultural interest that deserve preservation and valorization can be found.
This mostly rocky coastline is characterized by the presence of a Cambrian sequence prevalently composed of limestones and
dolostones and only locally of phyllites. A correct use of the many environmental and cultural monuments is necessary both
to preserve and to valorize them; therefore they have to be properly managed in order to preserve their original natural conditions.
Here, we describe and classify these monuments with the aim to propose an integrated model of sustainable development of this
exceptional coastal landscape. Our model is based on several thematic maps according to which we propose the establishment
of a natural reserve with specific geological and geomorphologic sites and the creation of several touristic circuits that

In this paper, a series of laboratory tests on shrinkage of plaster materials are presented. The plaster materials consist of cohesive soil, sand and different natural fibres. Three types of fibres, wheat straw, barley straw and wood shavings, were used as reinforcement in the tests. The shrinkage behaviour of earth plasters was studied by laboratory tests for different compositions and under different curing conditions. The specimens of plaster material were dried under a constant temperature of 30, 50 and 70°C, respectively. The effect of the following factors on shrinkage was investigated: temperature, soil composition, fibre type and fibre content. It was established that shrinkage crack formation decreases with increasing fibre content and increases with increasing soil content. In general, it was also found that lower curing temperature and higher fibre content are to be preferred to improve the performance of earth plasters. 相似文献

地下天然裂缝是导致地质灾害的主要原因之一 ,其机理研究是防灾的基础。轮南地区奥陶系天然裂缝的埋深在 5 0 0 0m以下 ,其发育受多种因素控制 ,且在地质演化过程中经历了多期发育而成 ,发育机理非常典型、复杂。笔者通过观察、描述岩心的裂缝发育特征 ,分析了深度、温度、围压等的变化以及剥蚀、裂缝充填对地下岩体力学性质的影响 ;进而建立综合数学模型 ,对裂缝发育概率分布和发育特点做出预测 ;根据计算结果 ,分析了轮南地区奥陶系天然裂缝的发育机理 ;通过天然裂缝分布与井内流体测试结果的对比分析 ,探讨了裂缝分布对地下流体活动的控制作用。 相似文献

利用地学层析技术在辽宁南部的鞍山、瓦房店等岩溶发育地区布置了多条井间电磁波CT观测剖面,由资料分析可知:辽宁南部鞍山、瓦房店等灰岩地区地壳上部的基底结构破碎,有多条小规模的断裂或裂隙存在,局部形成较宽的破碎带,并有溶洞或地下“暗河”存在。其它地球物理方法探测的结果也在相应处有异常显示,这说明地学层析技术探测地壳上部各种复杂地质构造具有良好的效果。 相似文献

CO2 geological storage will be one of the cost-effective options for global warming mitigation, and this technology is under
development widely in the world. However, the technology may face the challenge of public acceptance before its implementation.
In order to evaluate the public acceptance, questionnaire surveys were conducted among Japanese university students. A cognitive
map of geological storage, together with other major global warming mitigation options, everyday life activities, etc., was
constructed by means of a statistical analysis of the responses to the questionnaire. The risk-benefit cognitive map consists
of the following factors: “risk perception,” “benefit perception,” and “public acceptance.” The risk perception is further
disaggregated into “dread risk” and “unknown risk.” Additionally, a second survey was conducted after providing the students
with additional information on global warming and CO2 geological storage, and the effects of the information on their perceptions were evaluated. The effects of risk and benefit
perceptions on public acceptance were evaluated and discussed based on the cognitive maps representing the perceptions before
and after providing the information. The analyses revealed that the benefit perception was more influential than the risk
perception on the public acceptance of CO2 geological storage. The benefit perception increased greatly after providing the information; however, the unknown risk remained
considerably large. Further, RD&D relating unknown risk, for example, the monitoring technology for stored CO2 and the risk assessment of CO2 leakage, and the supply of related information to the public would be beneficial for increasing the public acceptance. 相似文献

Old, large, and dormant landslides were unexpectedly found in southeastern Sicily, a territory of known seismicity but commonly
considered as landslide-free or almost so. Purposely undertaken investigations revealed that: (1) these landslides are scarcely
compatible with the local geoclimatic environment; (2) they usually show low-angle basal shear surfaces, despite the fact
that the properties of the forming material are generally good; (3) they fulfill the known relationships between earthquake
magnitude and epicenter–landslide distance; (4) sources coeval with high-energy historical earthquakes occurred in 1169, 1542
and 1693 testify to the occurrence of earthquake-triggered landsliding; and (5) documentary material (presented here for the
first time) correlates with certainty a specific landslide to the 1693 earthquake. This geological and historical evidence,
accompanied by the absence of contrasting elements, leads us to conclude that these landslides are earthquake-triggered.
Because of their typological and geometrical characteristics, nearly all landslides can be reactivated, which has serious
implications in terms of hazard, particularly with respect to lines of communication. Obviously, every action aimed at preventing
or mitigating risks must start from the awareness of the causative processes, a condition substantially unsatisfied at the
moment in SE Sicily. The paper concludes by emphasizing the opportunity not to trust excessively beliefs that, although shared,
