The plant can be a source or a sink of ammonia (NH3) depending on its nitrogen (N) supply, metabolism and on the background atmospheric concentrations. Thus plants play a major role in regulating atmospheric NH3 concentrations. For a better understanding of the factors influencing the NH3 stomatal compensation point, it is important to analyse the dynamics of leaf NH3 fluxes. The relationship between the leaf NH3 fluxes and the leaf apoplast ammonium and nitrate concentrations, N nutrition and the light and dark periods was studied here.We designed an experiment to quantitatively assess leaf-atmosphere NH3 exchange and the stomatal compensation point and to identify the main factors affecting the variation of NH3 fluxes in oilseed rape. We tested day and night dynamics as well as the effect of five different N treatments. Two experimental methods were used: a dynamic open flux chamber and extraction of the apoplastic solution.Chamber measurements showed that there was a good correlation between plant NH3 fluxes and water fluxes. Compensation points were calculated by two different methods and ranged between 0.8 and 12.2 μg m−3 NH3 (at 20 °C) for the different N treatments. Apoplastic solution measurements showed that there was no significant differences in the apoplastic NH4+ concentrations ([NH4+]apo) extracted in dark and light periods for the same N treatment. Statistical analysis also showed that [NH4+]apo was correlated with [NH4+] in the nutrient solution and weakly correlated with [NO3]. Apoplast NH4+ concentrations ranged between 0.1 and 2.1 mM, bulk tissue NH4+ concentrations between 3.9 and 6.6 mM and xylem concentrations between 2.4 and 6.1 mM depending on the N supply.Calculated NH3 emission potential from the extraction measurements were over-estimated when compared with the value calculated from chamber measurements. Errors related to chamber measurements included separation of the cuticular and stomatal fluxes and the calculation of total resistance to NH3 exchange. Errors related to the extraction measurements included assessing the amount of cytoplasmic contamination. We do not have another method to assess the NH3 stomatal compensation point and the choice between these two measurement techniques should depend on the scales to which the measurements apply and the processes to be studied.  相似文献

摘要:鉴于N2O排放量占施用氮肥量的比例即N2O排放系数还有很大不确定性,室外盆栽试验于2002~2003年在南京农业大学实施,选取3个供试土壤,各土壤设置对照和低、中、高氮肥水平,全年施尿素量 (以N计) 分别为334 kg/hm2、670 kg/ hm2、1004 kg/hm2。结果表明,水稻生长季,各个土壤的N2O累积排放量与其对照相比的增加量在低、中、高氮肥水平间无明显差异;而小麦生长季,随氮肥施用量增加,各个土壤的N2O累积排放量与其对照相比的增加量在3种氮肥水平之间的差异显著。整个稻麦轮作系统,随氮肥用量的增加明显促进麦田N2O的排放。无论水稻或小麦生长季,对照3个土壤的N2O累积排放量并无显著差异,F土壤(江苏溧水),G土壤(江苏涟水)和H土壤(江苏农科院)的N2O累积排放量,在水稻生长季分别为168mg/m2、127 mg/m2和146 mg/m2;小麦生长季,分别为134 mg/m2、124 mg/m2和168 mg/m2。在施氮肥后,3个土壤的N2O排放量出现差异,如在中氮水平下,小麦生长季,F土壤、G土壤和H土壤N2O累积排放量分别为976 mg/m2、744 mg/m2和626 mg/m2。稻麦轮作生长季内,在低氮与中氮两个水平下,不同土壤间N2O排放系数存在显著差异。以一个稻麦轮作周期为时间尺度,F土壤,G土壤和H土壤总的N2O排放系数分别为1.1%±0.23%, 0.75%±0.17%和1.01%±0.11%,表明不同土壤对N2O排放系数的影响不同。  相似文献

就水泥企业SO2和NOX排放总量核算方法的选取问题,以3家不同类型水泥企业为例,以监测数据法核算结果为依据,对排污系数法和物料衡算法的核算结果进行统计学描述和差异性检验。结果表明:排污系数法能基本反映各类企业SO2、NOX实际排放状况;物料衡算法不适合各类企业NOχ的总量核算;对含熟料生产线的水泥企业,物料衡算法核算得出的SO2排放量偏小,实际工作中不建议采用;对粉磨站水泥企业,物料衡算法与排污系数法均能反映实际SO2排放情况,建议以"取大值"原则选取。  相似文献

There is concern about environmental impacts of cropping in catchments of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, especially losses of nitrogen (N) from cropping systems. Sugarcane production in the Burdekin region in the dry tropics stands out from other crops/regions because it is grown with the highest applications of irrigation water and N fertiliser rates of any sugarcane producing region in Australia, attributes which may enhance losses of N. Little is known about N losses from sugarcane production systems, especially irrigated systems. We measured parts of the water and N balance over three sugarcane crops at three contrasting sites in different parts of the Burdekin region, covering a range of soil types/textures and irrigation managements. The experimental data were used to parameterise the APSIM-Sugarcane cropping systems model, and the model then used to ‘infill’ missing data and develop more complete water and N balances for each of the crops at the three sites. The model was also used to simulate long-term yields and N losses through runoff and leaching below the root zone at the sites under a range of N fertiliser and irrigation management practices. Unlike the experience in other cropping systems, N losses through runoff and leaching below the root zone were not higher at our sites than measured in rainfed sugarcane production systems. The long-term simulations showed there were clear opportunities for reducing N losses while maintaining yields through reducing N fertiliser application rates. Simulations results suggested that long-term N surpluses of 50 kg ha−1 yr−1, considerably less than those during the experiment or common in the study region, were sufficient to maintain yields but reduce N losses by 50-57%. So, N fertiliser management should aim to keep surpluses to that level. Improved irrigation management could also help reduce N losses but generally to a much lesser extent than reduced N fertiliser applications. Research is required to confirm these predicted benefits, and investigate potential interaction between N fertiliser and irrigation management practices, and impacts of other management practices.  相似文献

The use of titanium dioxide (TiO2) as a photocatalyst in concrete pavements has received considerable attention in recent years due to its ability to decontaminate via photocatalytic processes. The objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of activated concrete road in the degradation of nitrogen oxides (NOx). We have used a TiO2 and activated carbon (AC) permeable spray solution to coat concrete to assess its NOx purifying ability. A number of experiments were undertaken to ascertain the conditions that affect NOx purification. Indoor simulation experiments with active concrete road at optimum conditions show that it has good purification ability, self-regeneration and repetition ability, with a minimum decontamination rate for NO and NO2 of 37.4% and 25.84%, respectively. Outdoor experiments show that the photodegradation of NOx is related to light intensity and temperature. As the light intensity increases the reaction rate increases, and conversely as temperature increases the reaction rate decreases.  相似文献

The eutrophication problem has drawn attention to nutrient leaching from agricultural soils, and an understanding of spatial and temporal variability is needed to develop decision-making tools. Thus, eleven sites were selected to monitor, over a two-year period, spatial and temporal variation of runoff discharge and various forms of N in surface runoff in sandy agricultural soils. Factors influencing the variation of runoff discharge and various forms of N in surface runoff were analyzed. Variation of annual rainfall was small among 11 sites, especially between 2001 and 2002. However, variation of annual discharge was significant among the sites. The results suggest that rainfall patterns and land use had significant effect on discharge. The concentrations of total N, total kjeldahl N (TKN), organic matter-associated N (OM-N), NO3- -N, and NHn+-N in the runoff ranged widely from 0.25 to 54.1, 0.15 to 20.3, 0.00 to 14.6, 0.00 to 45.3, and 0.00 to 19.7 mg/L, respectively. Spatial and temporal variations in the N concentration and runoff discharge were noted among the different sites. Annual loads of N in the runoff varied widely among monitoring sites and depend mainly on runoff discharge. High loads of total N, OM-N, NO3--N, and NHn+-N in the runoff either in citrus groves or on vegetable farms occurred from June to October for each year, which coincided with the rainy season in the region. This study found that N in surface runoff was related to rainfall intensity, soil N level, and fertilizer use.  相似文献

Growing fruit trees on the slopes of rolling hills in South China was causing serious environmental problems because of heavy application of chemical fertilizers and soil erosion. Suitable sources of fertilizers and proper rates of applications were of key importance to both crop yields and environmental protection. In this article, the impact of four fertilizers, i.e., inorganic compound fertilizer, organic compound fertilizer, pig manure compost, and peanut cake (peanut oil pressing residue), on chestnut (Castanea mollissima Blume) growth on a slope in South China, and on the total N and total P concentrations in runoff waters have been investigated during two years of study, with an orthogonal experimental design. Results show that the organic compound fertilizer and peanut cake promote the heights of young chestnut trees compared to the control. In addition, peanut cake increases single-fruit weights and organic compound fertilizer raises single-seed weights. All the fertilizers increased the concentrations of total N and total P in runoff waters, except for organic compound fertilizer, in the first year experiment. The observed mean concentrations of total N varied from 1.6 mg/L to 3.2 mg/L and P from 0.12 mg/L to 0.22 mg/L, which were increased with the amount of fertilizer applications, with no pattern of direct proportion. On the basis of these experiment results, organic compound fertilizer at 2 kg/tree and peanut cake at 1 kg/tree are recommended to maximize chestnut growth and minimize water pollution.  相似文献

研究了不同氮肥管理模式下的稻田氮素平衡特征和环境效应.在太湖主要入湖河流直湖港下游开展了农户常规施肥处理、缓控释肥处理、有机无机肥配施处理、按需施肥处理以及化肥减量优化处理5种氮肥管理模式的田间小区试验,实测了稻季的径流和淋洗氮损失,估算了氨挥发和N2O等气体损失,分析了不同氮肥处理下的环境排放量和氮素平衡特征.与农户常规施肥处理相比,其他处理在减少氮肥总投入量20%~40%的情况下产量与农户对照基本持平,氮肥利用率提高了14.5%~44%.不同氮肥管理模式下,缓控释肥处理和按需施肥处理的氮环境排放量最低,比农户施肥处理分别降低了52.8%和45.4%.在等氮量投入下,有机无机配施处理比纯化肥处理减少了环境氮排放量.农户施肥处理存在着明显的氮盈余,增加了麦季氮流失的风险,按需施肥处理略微出现氮亏缺,在一定程度上减少了麦季氮流失风险.新型缓控释肥处理和按需施肥处理能在不降低产量和效益的情况下,提高氮肥利用率,减少环境排放量,是值得在太湖流域推广的经济环保氮肥管理模式.  相似文献

In plant configuration of landscaping, herbaceous plant is often inter-planted with ornamental tree species. But unreasonable plant collocation may reduce the effectiveness of afforestation for the inhibition effect of tree on the growth of understory, and further more affect the greening effect. Camphor (Cinnamomum camphora) is widely planted in landscaping accompanying herbaceous plants including morning glory (Pharbitis nil). But camphor was reported to have allelopathic effect on its adjacent plant, therefore correct selection and collocation of plants has important significance to obtain good greening effect. This research aimed to study by a pot experiment the effects of decomposing leaf litter of Cinnamomum camphora on the growth, phenological traits of Pharbitis nil, as well as modification of these effects by nitrogen application. Three application rates of C. camphora leaf litter including 25, 50 and 100 g/pot (denoted by L25, L50 and L100, respectively) and a control (CK) were implemented. Nitrogen application began on the 34th d of decomposition, with 0.39 g urea being divided into three equal portions and added continuously to each pot. The results showed that (1) The height, basal diameter, leaf area and biomass production of Pharbitis nil were all inhibited sharply by exposure to the leaf litter, being decreased by 32.85%-83.78%, 5.23%-23.00%, 30.31%-58.47%, and 40.34%-84.54%, respectively, with the inhibition effect increasing both in intensity and stability with the increase of leaf litter. Such inhibition effect was obviously alleviated by exogenous nitrogen application. (2) The flowering dynamics of Pharbitis nil was greatly impacted by the leaf litter, with the flower initiation 2.5-10.0 d later and the flowering duration 6.3-11.4 d longer compared to the control. Although the leaf litter-treated plants exhibited more (0.5-3.3) flowers than the control, their quality decreased, and the hundred-grain weight of the seed decreased with the increase of leaf litter. However, the differences among treatments in the reproductive parameters mentioned above reduced after nitrogen fertilization. The results indicated that leaf litter of C. Camphora has a great allelopathic effect on morphological and reproductive growth of Pharbitis nil, which may be attributed to the release of phototoxic substances during the decomposition process.  相似文献
