This paper investigates index models as a tool to estimate the risk of N and P source strengths and loss at the catchment scale. The index models assist managers in improving the focus of remediation actions that reduce nutrient delivery to waterbodies. N and P source risk factors (e.g. soil nutrient concentrations) and transport risk factors (e.g. distance-to-streams) are used to determine the overall risk of nutrient loss for a case study in the Tuross River catchment of coastal southeast Australia. In the development of the N index model for Tuross, particulate N was considered important based on the observed event water quality data. In contrast to previous N index models, erosion and contributing distance were therefore included in the Tuross River catchment N index. Event-based water quality monitoring, and soil information, or in data-poor catchments conceptual understanding, are essential to represent catchment-scale processes. The techniques have high applicability in other catchments, and are complementary to other modelling techniques such as process-based semi-distributed modelling. Index models generally provide much more detailed spatial resolution than fully- or semi-distributed conceptual modelling approaches. Semi-distributed models can be used to quantify nutrient loads and provide overall direction to set the broad focus of management. Index models can then be used to refine on-the-ground investigations and investment priorities. In this way semi-distributed models can be combined with index models to provide a set of powerful tools to influence management decisions and outcomes.  相似文献

Measurements were conducted during 2004-2005 and 2009-2010 to characterize atmospheric nitrogen (N) deposition to the Jiulong River Estuary - Xiamen Bay area in southeast China. Isotopic analysis and long-term data (1990-2009) for inorganic N extracted from the national acid deposition dataset were used to determine the dominant source of atmospheric nitrate and N component dynamics. The results showed that the mean dissolved total N concentration in rain water for the three coastal area sites was 2.71 ± 1.58 mg N L(-1) (n = 141) in 2004. The mean dissolved inorganic N at the Xiamen site was 1.62 ± 1.19 mg N L(-1) (n = 46) in 2004-2005 and 1.56 ± 1.39 mg N L(-1) (n = 36) in 2009-2010, although the difference is not significant, nitrate turnover dominates the N component in the latter period. Total deposition flux over Xiamen was 30 kg N ha(-1) yr(-1), of which dry and wet deposition contributed 16% and 84%, respectively. Nitrate in wet deposition with low isotopic value (between -3.05 and -7.48‰) was likely to have mostly originated from combustion NO(x) from vehicle exhausts. The inorganic N in acid deposition exhibited a significant increase (mainly for nitrate) since the mid-1990s, which is consistent with the increased gaseous concentrations of NO(x) and expanding number of automobiles in the coastal city (Xiamen). The time series of nitrate anions and ammonium cations as well as pH values during the period 1990-2009 reflected an increasing trend of N emission with potential implication for N-induced acidification.  相似文献

向家坝建库后改变了河流原有的水动力、营养盐分布及输移条件.为研究向家坝水库营养盐分布特征及滞留效应,通过2015~2016年分季度水库水质监测结果,分析向家坝水库水体总氮(TN)、总磷(TP)和溶解性硅(SiO_3~(2-)-Si)营养盐时空分布特征、滞留量、滞留效率.研究发现,向家坝水库TN、TP和SiO_3~(2-)-Si营养盐质量浓度均值分别为0. 905、0. 034和7. 98mg·L~(-1).其中,TN质量浓度在城镇人口密集区偏大,分布主要受点源影响;磷营养盐以颗粒态磷为主,TP质量浓度在水库中自上而下沿程降低,SiO_3~(2-)-Si质量浓度分布在时空上差异较小.向家坝对TN、TP和SiO_3~(2-)-Si营养盐滞留量为2. 30×10~4、0. 146×10~4和-2. 4×10~4t·a~(-1).在不同季度,TN和SiO_3~(2-)-Si滞留量有正有负,而TP则始终表现为正滞留. TN、TP和SiO_3~(2-)-Si月平均滞留效率分别为17. 5%、32. 8%和-2. 14%.整体上实际滞留效率表现为丰水期高于枯水期,并且TP的滞留作用更为显著. TN滞留量主要受反硝化作用,以及外源负荷输入影响; SiO_3~(2-)-Si输送通量主要受径流量影响;水库运行周期以及磷的颗粒形态则是TP滞留的主要因素.向家坝水库对营养盐的滞留效应与TN和SiO_3~(2-)-Si质量浓度变化无明显相关性,而水库对TP的滞留效应使TP质量浓度在水库纵向上沿程减小,在各监测样点垂向水深上TP质量浓度则有增大的趋势.  相似文献

In water, chlorine reacts with nitrogen-containing compounds to produce disinfection by-products such as nitrogen trichloride which induces ocular and respiratory irritations in swimming pool workers. This study proposes a model to predict variations in NCl3 concentration over time in a traditional indoor swimming pool as a function of its operating parameters and attendance. The model was developed taking into consideration the reaction mechanisms, thermodynamic equilibria, physico-chemical properties, and transfer mechanisms occurring at the pool's surface. This model was validated through a robust series of experiments over two days and two nights in a real swimming pool. The model was found to satisfactorily predict variations over time in the concentrations of the chemical species investigated, including nitrogen trichloride. The work presented constitutes a first step to extend the model at different swimming pools. This approach may also be used to study the influence of the main operating parameters and to evaluate the impact of setting up water treatment systems on nitrogen trichloride concentration.  相似文献

Spent mushroom compost (SMC) is a co-product of edible mushroom which contains abundant nutrients including organics, nitrogen (N) and phosphorous (P). This study is related to the release potential of nitrogen, phosphate and organic matter from SMC amended soil in column-based experiments. Results showed that due to SMC application, NH4+–N and NO3–N concentrations in leachate decreased by 92.5% and 76.3%, respectively, while EC and CODCr concentrations increased by 84.2% and 481.9%, respectively, as compared to chemical fertilizers. Moreover, a minor loss of TNcum (65%) and TPcum (almost equal value) exhibited good nutrient retention capacity. Leaching test results demonstrated that the mixed application of SMC and chemical fertilizers could alleviate excessive CODCr level in SMC leachate. The release process of nutrients in SMC amended soil could be described by first/first order mixed model, indicating that nutrients leached from SMC follow a two-stage pattern.  相似文献

以GAC颗粒污泥为接种污泥研究厌氧氨氧化EGSB反应器快速启动的条件及运行参数。反应器的启动在17 d内完成,总氮容积负荷达到1.62 kg/(m3·d)。采用缩短水力停留时间方式提高反应器负荷,14 d内反应器总氮容积负荷能快速升至1.45 kg/(m3·d),实验结果表明采用低基质浓度和缩短水力停留时间方式更利于厌氧氨氧化反应器的启动。第18~21 d平均产气速率为1.1 L/h,用气相色谱仪对EGSB反应器产生的气体进行分析,N2O、CO2平均体积分数分别为0.8%、0.02%,如何降低气体中N2O的浓度需要进一步研究。  相似文献

以安徽省巢湖北岸牌坊陈村为例,构建了一种由沟渠、水塘和湿地组合而成的生态型排水系统,并研究了该系统对农村降雨径流污染的截控作用.构建的牌坊陈村生态型排水系统实现了污水排放、收集和处理一体化,系统通过各组成单元物理、化学和生物综合作用,对降雨径流中污染物具有较高的截留率,减少了营养盐对周围水体输出负荷.3场降雨监测结果表明,系统对TSS、COD、TP和TN的平均截留率分别为78.2%、57.8%、55.5%和64.2%,系统出水中TSS、COD、TP和NH4+-N平均质量浓度分别为23.5、66.3、0.49和3.03 mg·L-1,达到《污水综合排放标准》一级标准要求.水塘作为系统主要截流、纳污以及蓄水单元,其日常水质指标TSS、COD、TP和TN平均质量浓度分别为28.0、31.2、0.47和4.65 mg·L-1,基本符合《地表水环境质量标准》中Ⅴ类标准要求.  相似文献

自然坑塘对夏季降雨径流污染的截流净化效果   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
选取上海市临港新城4种不同类型的自然坑塘,比较其在夏季对降雨径流污染的截留效应以及水质净化效果。结果表明:场地主要降雨径流污染物为TN、COD,自然坑塘对降雨径流污染具有较好的截留效应,但自然坑塘的截流效率并未得到最大程度的发挥。自然坑塘对于水质的净化处理效果总体较好,研究期内4个自然坑塘的TP平均净化率分别为:46.4%、4.6%、57.6%、57.4%;TN平均净化率分别为:34.7%、40.7%、46.4%、26.9%;COD平均净化率分别为:21.6%、40.5%、47.3%、-4.3%。在高温少雨、水深过浅的情况下,自然坑塘易出现水华现象,影响水质净化效果。因此,需要对自然坑塘进行优化设计、改造,保持自然坑塘生态系统的稳定与自我更新能力,才能最大限度地发挥其对于城市雨洪调蓄、径流污染控制等方面的综合生态价值。  相似文献

研究了在实验室使用空气吹脱法去除高浓度氨氮废水的条件,通过正交实验得出其影响因素大小顺序为:废水pH>气液比r>废水温度tw>表面活性剂浓度c,最佳吹脱条件为pH=11.0,r=550,c=10mg/L,tw=75℃,最高氨氮去除效率达到71.4%。在某焦化厂以终冷塔后焦炉煤气为解吸介质,现场试验影响因素大小顺序为:o废水pH>废水温度tw>气液比r>煤气温度tg>表面活性剂浓度c,最佳吹脱条件为pH=11.5,tw=90℃,r=650,tg=55℃,c=20mg/L。为煤气吹脱解吸回收氨工艺的应用提出了建议。  相似文献
