The importance of physico-chemical parameters on the speciation of natural radionuclides in riverine ecosystems 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
External gamma radiation levels were measured in the catchment areas of the Sharavathi River and the dose rates in air were found to be in the range 26.0-61.0 nGy h−1. Soil and sediment samples of the riverine environment were analysed for natural radionuclides such as 226Ra, 232Th and 40K using a NaI(Tl) gamma spectrometer. The activity concentration of 210Pb and 210Po in soil and sediment samples was determined by radiochemical separation techniques. Evaluation of the activity concentration of radionuclides with grain size revealed an increase in the activity of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K towards fine grain size. The activity concentrations for all isotopes in all samples were not significantly correlated with pH. However, the activity of 210Po and 210Pb in sediment showed a moderate positive correlation with organic matter content and a good correlation with clay content of sediment. 相似文献

Up to now, several scientific works have noted that the organic sector resembles more and more conventional farming’s structures,
what is widely known as the “conventionalization” thesis. This phenomenon constitutes an area of conflict between organic
farming’s original vision and its current reality and raises ethical and social questions concerning the structure of agricultural
systems of production and their interactions with the socio-economic and natural environment. The main issue of this dialogue
is the concept of sustainable agriculture, which for scientists and policymakers is a means to express their vision of a better
agriculture. In this article we focus on agricultural sustainability in the context of capitalist production as conducted
by the two subsystems of agro-industrial system. As we have proposed in this article, the relationship between organic agriculture,
defined by two essential components (prevention and direct marketing), and the agro-industrial complex, defined by two subsystems,
indicates the degree of agricultural sustainability. The investigation of this relationship can be extremely useful as it
may lead those involved in the discussion of sustainability to identify the key aspects of sustainable agriculture. In order
to investigate the interaction of organic farming with the agro-industrial complex, a survey was conducted in Central Macedonia,
Northern Greece, involving local organic farms. The results of our study indicate that a large proportion of organic producers
did not differ substantially from their counterparts in conventional agriculture in so far as their relationship with the
agro-industrial complex is concerned. Finally, this research highlights two scenarios for the evolution of organic farming.
The first is the full absorption of organic farming to the existing economic system and the second one is the development
of organic farming in a radically opposite direction to conventional farming. 相似文献

为了解南京城区大气细颗粒物中有机碳与元素碳的污染特征,在国控点草场门进行了连续一年的PM2.5采样,分析了有机碳(OC)、元素碳(EC)、ρ(OC)/ρ(EC)污染特征和变化规律。结果表明,采样期间有些PM2.5的日均值超过了《环境空气质量标准》(GB 3095-2012)二级标准,ρ(OC)/ρ(EC)为0.77~4.98,平均值为1.92。PM2.5样品中OC约占18%、EC约占9%。 相似文献

采用离子色谱法同时测定污泥与餐厨垃圾联合厌氧发酵液中乳酸、乙酸、丙酸、正丁酸、异丁酸、正戊酸、异戊酸等7种有机酸,通过试验优化洗脱程序,使得7种有机酸在2.00mg/L~60.0mg/L范围内线性良好。试验表明,方法检出限为0.250mg/L~0.580mg/L,标准样品的加标回收率为93.O%~108%,8次测定结果的RSD为3.7%一7.1%,实际样品测定的加标回收率为90.6%~109%。 相似文献

Assessment of population exposure to VOC in ambient atmospheres is receiving heightened interest as the adverse health effects of chronic exposure to certain of these compounds are identified. Active (pumped) and passive samplers are the most commonly used devices for this type of monitoring. It has been shown, however, that these devices, along with all other preconcentration techniques, are susceptible to ozone interference. It is demonstrated that this interference occurs even at low ozone concentrations and that it may result in the under-estimation of population exposure. A convenient and effective ozone scrubbing method is identified and successfully applied and validated for both active and passive samplers for a range of VOC. 相似文献

Structural and chemical characterization of compounds within complex environmental mixtures provides unique insights into the roles of these compounds in different environmental processes. Here, an emerging technique in environmental chemistry, electrospray ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (ESI FT-ICR MS), is described and its applications to the molecular characterization of humic acids and petroleum products are reviewed and examined. ESI is a low-fragmentation ionization technique that preferentially ionizes polar functional groups prior to mass spectrometric analysis. This technique allows the characterization of intact polar macromolecules that are inaccessible to standard chromatographic techniques. ICR MS is an ultrahigh resolution and mass accuracy MS technique based on the detection of ion cyclotron motion within a magnetic field. The combination of ESI FT-ICR MS with other structural techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) allows the unprecedented identification and characterization of polar macromolecules in environmental mixtures and will find numerous applications within environmental chemistry and forensics. 相似文献
