A Spatially Explicit Resource-Based Approach for Managing Stream Fishes in Riverscapes 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The article describes a riverscape approach based on landscape ecology concepts, which aims at studying the multiscale relationships
between the spatial pattern of stream fish habitat patches and processes depending on fish movements. A review of the literature
shows that few operational methods are available to study this relationship due to multiple methodological and practical challenges
inherent to underwater environments. We illustrated the approach with literature data on a cyprinid species (Barbus barbus) and an actual riverscape of the Seine River, France. We represented the underwater environment of fishes for different discharges
using two-dimensional geographic information system-based maps of the resource habitat patches, defined according to activities
(feeding, resting, and spawning). To quantify spatial patterns at nested levels (resource habitat patch, daily activities
area, subpopulation area), we calculated their composition, configuration, complementation, and connectivity with multiple
spatial analysis methods: patch metrics, moving-window analysis, and least cost modeling. The proximity index allowed us to
evaluate habitat patches of relatively great value, depending on their spatial context, which contributes to the setting of
preservation policies. The methods presented to delimit potential daily activities areas and subpopulation areas showed the

Studies have shown that ecological restoration projects are more likely to gain public support if they simultaneously increase important human services that natural resources provide to people. River restoration projects have the potential to influence many of the societal functions (e.g., flood control, water quality) that rivers provide, yet most projects fail to consider this in a comprehensive manner. Most river restoration projects also fail to take into account opportunities for revitalization of large-scale river processes, focusing instead on opportunities presented at individual parcels. In an effort to avoid these pitfalls while planning restoration of the Sacramento River, we conducted a set of coordinated studies to evaluate societal impacts of alternative restoration actions over a large geographic area. Our studies were designed to identify restoration actions that offer benefits to both society and the ecosystem and to meet the information needs of agency planning teams focusing on the area. We worked with local partners and public stakeholders to design and implement studies that assessed the effects of alternative restoration actions on flooding and erosion patterns, socioeconomics, cultural resources, and public access and recreation. We found that by explicitly and scientifically melding societal and ecosystem perspectives, it was possible to identify restoration actions that simultaneously improve both ecosystem health and the services (e.g., flood protection and recreation) that the Sacramento River and its floodplain provide to people. Further, we found that by directly engaging with local stakeholders to formulate, implement, and interpret the studies, we were able to develop a high level of trust that ultimately translated into widespread support for the project. 相似文献

工业上广泛使用盐酸作为钢材酸洗介质,会产生相当多的含铁废盐酸,废液如果直接排放会严重污染环境,而且造成资源浪费。本文介绍的技术将所得的废酸通过浓缩精馏、酸化制得HCl气体、再吸收成盐酸以及酸化制备母液的再处理,不产生二次污染且零排放,从而实现了工业酸洗含铁废盐酸的资源化处理。废酸中Cl-的回收率达到85%,得到的工业精制盐酸浓度达34%,同时副产氧化铁红和磷肥。目前该技术已通过中试并经过了有关技术鉴定。实践证明,该技术用于含铁废盐酸的处理,可带来明显的经济效益,且环境友好,是目前代替中和法处理含铁废盐酸较为理想的方法,是一项实用的资源化综合利用绿色技术。 相似文献

以污水处理厂剩余污泥为研究对象,污泥经酸/碱预处理(pH=3.0/pH=10.0)后,分别以FeOOH、FeCl3及Fe2O3为外加铁源,进行厌氧发酵,探究铁源对厌氧系统中蓝铁石晶体生成的影响.结果表明:FeCl3和FeOOH可以高效地被还原为Fe2+,其铁还原效率(EFe)最高为56.24%~80.10%,且酸处理效果优于碱处理(3.00%~13.31%),而Fe2O3的EFe相对较低,最高分别为31.94%(pH=3.0)和50.1%(pH=10.0).FeOOH和Fe2O3的投加,可促进胞外聚合物(EPS)中蛋白质含量的提升,增强胞外电子传递能力,但Fe2O3因其结晶度高,阻碍了铁还原微生物对铁源的利用,导致铁还原效率低.上清液PO43-浓度、污泥Fe-P比例与EFe呈负相关,EFe越高则PO 相似文献

采用水溶液静态置换法,从中华鲟(Acipenser sinensis)受精卵发育至96 h开始,研究了其在0(对照组)、0.2、0.8和1.6mg·L~(-1) Pb~(2+)水溶液中暴露16周,随后排放6周,对中华鲟幼鱼血液中ALT、AST活力的影响.结果显示:Pb暴露后幼鱼血液中的ALT和AST活力均表现为随Pb暴露剂量增加而升高的趋势,1.6mg·L~(-1)组ALT活力与其它各组比较呈极显著差异(P<0.01);0.8和1.6mg·L~(-1)组AST活力与对照组比较分别呈显著差异(P<0.05)和极显著差异(P<0.01). Pb排放后,各暴露组血液中ALT活力降低至对照组水平(P>0.05);1.6 mg·L~(-1)组的AST活力依然较高.超出对照组近2倍(P<0.01).对照组血液的AST/ALT值在2.24~2.32之间;随Pb质量浓度增加,暴露后AST/ALT值呈增加趋势.Pb排放后AST/ALT值降低,但1.6 mg·L~(-1)组与其余各组比较仍维持较高值(P<0.05).初步认为,0.2 mg·L~(-1)和0.8 mg·L~(-1) Pb~(2+)暴露导致中华鲟幼鱼肝细胞不同程度受损,经Pb排放后,轻度受损的组织细胞能够恢复.血液中的AST/ALT值在判断鱼类组织损伤中也具有重要意义. 相似文献

/ A method is presented for estimating probable public costs resulting from damage caused by hurricanes, measured as local government expenditures approved for reimbursement under the Stafford Act Section 406 Public Assistance Program. The method employs a multivariate model developed through multiple regression analysis of an array of independent variables that measure meteorological, socioeconomic, and physical conditions related to the landfall of hurricanes within a local government jurisdiction. From the regression analysis we chose a log-log (base 10) model that explains 74% of the variance in the expenditure data using population and wind speed as predictors. We illustrate application of the method for a local jurisdiction-Lee County, Florida, USA. The results show that potential public costs range from $4.7 million for a category 1 hurricane with winds of 137 kilometers per hour (85 miles per hour) to $130 million for a category 5 hurricane with winds of 265 kilometers per hour (165 miles per hour). Based on these figures, we estimate expected annual public costs of $2.3 million. These cost estimates: (1) provide useful guidance for anticipating the magnitude of the federal, state, and local expenditures that would be required for the array of possible hurricanes that could affect that jurisdiction; (2) allow policy makers to assess the implications of alternative federal and state policies for providing public assistance to jurisdictions that experience hurricane damage; and (3) provide information needed to develop a contingency fund or other financial mechanism for assuring that the community has sufficient funds available to meet its obligations.
