Evaluation of the e ectiveness of horizontal subsurface flow constructed
wetlands for di erent media
Two media bed (gravel and Filtralite NR) were tested in a mesocosm to evaluate the removal of organic matter (as chemical oxygen
demand (COD)), ammonia (NH4-N), nitrite, nitrate and solid matter (as total suspended solids (TSS)) for a synthetic wastewater
(acetate-based) and a domestic wastewater. The use of Filtralite allowed average removal rates (6–16.8 g COD/(m2 day), 0.8–1.1
g NH4-N/(m2 day) and 3.1 g TSS/(m2 day)) and removal e ciencies (65%–93%, 57%–85% and 78% for COD, NH4-N and TSS,
respectively), higher than that observed in the experiments with gravel. The applied loads of COD, ammonia, nitrate and TSS seem
to influence the respective removal rates but only for the treatment of domestic wastewater with higher correlation coe cients for
Filtralite. Regardless the type of media bed and the type of wastewater, nitrate was completely removed for nitrogen loading rates up to
1.3 g NO3-N/(m2 day). There was no evidence of the influence of nitrate loads on the removal of organic matter. 相似文献

For effective wastewater reclamation and water recovery, the treatment of natural and effluent organic matters (NOM and EfOM),
toxic anions, and micropollutants was considered in this work. Two different NOM (humic acid of the Suwannee River, and NOM
of US and Youngsan River, Korea), and one EfOM from the Damyang wastewater treatment plant, Korea, were selected for investigating
the removal efficiencies of tight nanofiltration (NF) and ultrafiltration (UF) membranes with different properties. Nitrate,
bromate, and perchlorate were selected as target toxic anions due to their well known high toxicities. Tri-(2-chloroethyl)-phosphate
(TCEP), oxybenzone, and caffeine, due to their different K
ow and pK
a values, were selected as target micropollutants. As expected, the NF membranes provided high removal efficiencies in terms
of all the tested contaminants, and the UF membrane provided fairly high removal efficiencies for anions (except for nitrate)
and the relatively hydrophobic micropollutant, oxybenzon. Through the wetlands, nitrate was successfully removed. Therefore,
a fair process of combining membranes with an engineered wetland could be proposed for sustainable wastewater reclamation

洞庭湖退田还湖区不同土地利用方式对土壤养分库的影响 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
以钱粮湖垸为例,研究了洞庭湖退田还湖区的林地(Ⅰ)、园地(Ⅱ)、旱地(Ⅲ)、水田(Ⅳ)和荒地(Ⅴ)等不同土地利用方式下的土壤养分含量、养分库综合指数以及养分相关性。研究表明:土壤养分分布的表聚效应明显,0~50 cm土层土壤有机质含量为3.40~32.32 g/kg,全氮、水解氮含量为2.23~9.71 g/kg、12.95~112.00 mg/kg,全磷、速效磷含量为29.50~69.35 g/kg、4.15~75.68 mg/kg,全钾、速效钾含量为603~3069 g/kg、37.70~217.50 mg/kg;林地土壤全氮含量最高,有机质含量最低,水田有机质、全钾及速效磷含量均最高,旱地水解氮含量最高,而荒地土壤全氮、全磷、全钾、水解氮及水解磷均最低;土壤养分库综合指数变化范围为24.33~295.93,排序为IⅣ(231.96)>IⅢ(193.46)>IⅡ(70.90)>IⅠ(59.57)>IⅤ(35.59);土壤养分要素的相关性分析结果表明,有机质与全磷、全磷与速效磷、全氮与全钾、水解氮与速效磷均呈显著正相关关系,相关系数分别为 0.5760、0.5961、0.6864 和 0.5701。 相似文献

栖息地功能是潮间带湿地重要的生态功能之一. 利用景观生态学原理,选择既能较好地反映潮间带栖息地变化,又能敏感地反映海岸带开发影响的有效湿地斑块面积、单位面积湿地斑块数量、植被覆盖率和栖息地复杂性4个指标,建立了潮间带湿地栖息地功能评价模型.在对1954—2000年渤海湾潮间带湿地的动态变化进行分析的基础上,运用潮间带湿地栖息地功能评价模型,对研究区潮间带湿地作了评价. 结果表明:以20世纪50年代为基准年,渤海湾潮间带湿地的野生动物栖息地功能指数从0.84下降到0.56,湿地破碎化是其功能退化的主要原因. 相似文献

在简单回顾世界城市发展过程中对沿海湿地的威胁和影响上,以广州南沙地区为例,对其城市拓展和生态规划中的湿地综合保护与发展进行了探讨。从南沙地区规划中的功能定位出发,分析了该区的湿地类型和分布特征,对其重点湿地进行了确定,从湿地的功能与价值、湿地资源的稀缺性上分析了湿地保护的重要性,重点对湿地的稀缺性进行了论证。基于相似性理论,特别对十九涌湿地、大虎岛东岸湿地和龙穴岛东岸湿地进行了替代性和补偿性分析,充分论述了建立湿地保护小区的重要性和解决关键联系的必要性。初步对湿地保护小区的功能区进行了划分,提出了湿地优先保护行动。 相似文献

ABSTRACT: The applicability of empirical relationships governing phosphorus (P) retention and nutrient assimilation in lakes and reservoirs was extended to include free surface water wetland treatment systems. Mixed reactor models have been used in lakes to predict steady state P concentration, characterize trophic state, compare P‐dynamics, and predict permissible P‐loading rates. Applying lake models to free surface water wetlands treatment systems, it was found that: sedimentation rates, loading rates, and settling velocity in these wetlands, and their typology are comparable to their lake counterparts. The analyses also suggest that phosphorus removal efficiency in a free surface water wetland treatment system is independent of trophic status, and similar to lakes, these wetlands can be classified according to their trophic state. Oligo‐and eutrophic wetland treatment systems can be defined by low and high TP inflow concentrations, respectively. In this study, olig‐otrophic status is defined as systems receiving inflow P‐loading less than 0.10 g m‐2 year‐1, and their P inputs are mainly derived from agricultural and stormwater runoff. Eutrophic treatment systems, on the other hand, are defined as those receiving inflow P‐loading higher than 0.20 g m2 year‐1, and their inputs are mainly derived from industrial and municipal wastewater. The comparability found between lakes and free surface water wetlands treatment systems raises the question: should we consider these wetlands “shallow lakes?” 相似文献

ABSTRACT: Growing‐season evapotranspiration and surface energy and water balances were investigated for an extensive, bulrush‐dominated wetland in the Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge of south‐central Oregon, a semi‐arid region with competing demands for scarce water resources. Turbulent fluxes of sensible and latent heat were measured by eddy covariance for 1.2 to 1.9 days during each of four site visits during late‐May to mid‐October 1997. Mean daytime latent heat flux and the Bowen ratio ranged from 148 to 178 W m?2 and from 0.38 to 0.51, respectively, during late May, mid‐July, and late August site visits. By mid‐October, when the plant canopy had senesced, daytime latent heat flux and the Bowen ratio averaged 46 W m?2 and 2.8, respectively. An hourly Penman‐Monteith (PM) model that was fitted to the surface‐flux data provided values for the surface resistance to water‐vapor diffusion that ranged from 78 s m?1 during late August to 206 s m?1 during mid‐October. Similarly, a Priestley‐Taylor (PT) model provided values for the PT multiplier (a) that ranged from 0.96 during late August to 0.37 during mid‐October. ABSTRACT: The Landsat‐Muitispectral Scanner (MSS) data were used to measure lake area fluctuations (1972–1989) for 130 ground‐water dominated lakes in the Western Lakes Region of the Nebraska Sand Hills. In general, the pattern shown in lake area hydrographs was similar to that for in‐situ lake elevations. In‐situ lake‐elevation data verify that remote monitoring of surface‐area fluctuations, even at relatively coarse spatial resolution, is not only practical and useful, but also it elucidates the hydrologic characteristics of groundwater‐dominated lakes of the Sand Hills. The apparent differences in behavior between lakes in the northern and southern portions of the study area may be related to both their location in the regional ground water system and the substantial local hydrologic complexity. 相似文献
