ABSTRACTThe biogas constituting majorly CH4 and CO2 has been produced by Ca(OH)2 pre-treated wheat straw with pre-digested cow dung. Some of the key thermodynamic parameters like specific heat capacity, density and heating capacity of the biogas produced have also been calculated per day as well as throughout the hydraulic retention time. The governing equations of biogas with appropriate phase and interfacial conditions describing the physics of the biogas have been derived. The control volume approach has been used to predict the total volume (ml) of biogas, CH4 and CO2 throughout the experiment and on the daily basis. The effects of feedstock, temperature and pressure on the production of biogas, CH4 and CO2 in anaerobic digestion have also been studied. The average number of molar fraction and conversion ratio of CH4 and CO2 are correlated with number of carbon atoms available in feedstock. Numerical calculations by using developed model and Modified Gompertz model have shown proficient agreement with the experimental observations. 相似文献

ABSTRACTIn 1985, San Francisco adopted a wind comfort standard in its Downtown Area Plan in response to increasing concerns about the city’s downtown public open spaces becoming excessively windy. After 30 years of implementation, this study revisits the standard and examines its effectiveness in promoting pedestrian comfort. Seven hundred one valid samples were collected from 6 months of field study, which combined surveying pedestrians and on-site collection of microclimate data. Statistical analysis and an assessment using the physiological equivalent temperature show that 11 mph (4.92 m/s), the comfort criterion in places for walking, performs as an effective determinant of outdoor comfort in San Francisco. Fleet, work-related or occupational road safety has the potential to make a major contribution to reducing both human harm and asset damage. To date, however, there would appear to be a dearth of well researched and evaluated case studies in the public domain in this area.This paper provides an on-going, documented, real-world case study of work-related road safety within an Australian company that has sought to manage, monitor and improve its road safety performance over the last 5 years through a range of proactive, fleet manager, insurance and risk-led initiatives.Roche Australia has successfully implemented a Company Motor Vehicle Safety Program with support from its fleet insurers and risk management advisors. Four key initiatives are set out covering: (1) Driver risk assessment, monitoring and improvement. (2) Policy development and communications. (3) Process and outcomes evaluation. (4) Continuous review and refinement of policies, processes, programs and future developments.The program has led to a range of process and performance-based outcomes. Typical barriers to success in work-related road safety have been identified and overcome. Almost 100% risk assessment and improvement process compliance by drivers has been achieved. A predictive relationship between risk assessment outcomes and collision history has been identified. Reductions in insurance claims, collision costs and claims ratio have been sustained. A detailed project plan is in place to continue the program for the next 3 years.The paper concludes that with effective management, a well developed work-related road safety program can result in performance improvements within the initiating organisation. Several limitations in the case study methodology, as well as areas for further work and lessons for policy makers, researchers and practitioners are also identified. 相似文献

选择以干冷气候为主的兰州和温暖湿润的江汉平原作为研究区域,结合其他多种指标和研究区的岩性特征,对有机碳同位素δ13Corg的古气候指示意义进行了初步探讨。结果表明,在兰州地区,δ13Corg值波动反映C3/C4植物比例的改变,指示温度变化。δ13Corg值偏正时,表明C4植物含量较大,反映温度较高,而δ13Corg值偏负时,表明气候较冷;江汉平原δ13Corg值主要反映降水信息,
δ13Corg值偏负时指示相对暖湿气候,δ13Corg值偏正反映气候偏干。δ13Corg等指标同时还揭示了末次盛冰期以来两地古气候类同特征:即12.0 ka BP之前气候相对偏干;在全新世晚期,气候波动中转暖。不同之处表现为:约在12.0~10.0 ka BP,当兰州气候还很干冷时,江汉平原已进入暖湿的冰后期;而在全新世早中期,当兰州气候转为暖湿时,江汉平原气候则表现为略偏干。 相似文献

以硫丹作为氯代新POPs的代表,通过实验室小试研究,探讨反应温度、NaOH和石蜡油投加量对硫丹在NaOH/石蜡油碱催化反应体系中的去除和脱氯效率(RE和DE)的影响,并寻找出最优条件,开展示范工程研究.实验室小试结果表明,反应温度、NaOH投加量和石蜡油投加量对硫丹脱氯效率的影响要大于对其去除率的影响.当温度为250℃,硫丹和NaOH及石蜡油的质量比为1:3:6和1:3:10时,反应3h后,硫丹去除率和脱氯效率分别达到99.99%和99%以上.采用硫丹和得克隆两种氯代有机物开展示范工程研究,中试设备处理能力达到15kg/批次,在250~300℃下反应3~10h后,对硫丹和得克隆的去除效率均达到99.9%以上,表明硫丹和得克隆被有效分解.示范工程的成功实施为我国履行斯德哥尔摩公约提供技术支持. 相似文献

A new approach for isolation and identification of elecrtophilic mutagens from complex matrix was developed.Thiosulfonic anion was immobilized onto polystyrene beads and used as separation media.Potassium polystyryl-thiosulfonate,prepared from polystyryl- sulfonyl chloride and KHS,was observed to selectively react with model electrophilic mutagens such as alkyl halides,α-chloroketones andα-chloroesters to produce polystyryl-thiosulfonic esters.After separation from other nonreactive organic compounds,the beads then reacted with ethanethiol to produce unsymmetrical ethyl disulfides which are easily detected by GC/MS.For one mutagenic compound,only one unsymmetrical disulfide was found to contain its structure part.Thus,the structure of the parent mutagens could be deduced from that of the unsymmetrical disulfides.The degree of functionaiization of the potassium polystyryl-thiosulfonate resin was 1.11 mmol/g.Its reactivity was discussed and its recycling method was reported here. 相似文献
