Menkes X-linked disease: Prenatal diagnosis of hemizygous males and heterozygous females

Menkes X-linked disease, a copper disturbance syndrome, is detectable in cell cultures. Prenatal findings in two at-risk foetuses suggested that prenatal diagnosis was also feasible. In this study, we report substantial evidence that therapeutic abortion can be limited to hemizygous males. Forty-two at-risk pregnancies from 21 European families and 1 Canadian family were monitored with ⁶⁴Cu-uptake into cultured amniotic fluid cells. In 10 pregnancies with a male karyotype an affected foetus was predicted on the basis of the copper studies. The pregnancies were terminated and the diagnosis was in each case confirmed by a markedly increased placenta copper content. Fourteen male foetuses were predicted to be unaffected and none of them has developed signs of Menkes disease after birth. In 6 of these cases the diagnosis was checked in the newborn boy by placenta copper measurements, and they all had copper concentrations within normal limits. Eighteen pregnancies with a female karyotype were also studied. 9 females could be identified as carriers on the basis of the tissue culture studies or raised placenta copper values.     

Human chromosomes in prenatal diagnosis: A one step high resolution technique

A simple high resolution technique for human chromosomes is described for fibroblasts obtained from amniotic fluid cell cultures. The application and clinical significance of this technique in prenatal diagnosis is discussed.     

真菌总状共头霉对杀菌剂甲霜灵转化菌株的分离及其特性

用土柱环流装置作连续富集培养,分离到一株总状共头霉(Syncephalastrum racemosum),表现有转化杀苗剂甲霜灵的能力。当培养液中甲霜灵浓度在10μg/ml以下时,培养21天后甲霜灵含量减少80%以上。实验证明,这一菌株不能利用甲霜灵作为其生长碳源,在培养过程中甲霜灵的苯环结构并未分解。属于共代谢作用。

Determination of cytotoxic,genotoxic, and oxidative damage from deltamethrin on primary hepatocyte culture of Lake Van fish,Alburnus tarichi

ABSTRACT

Deltamethrin is a widely used pyrethroits worldwide. Although the chemical is used to combat insects, it has effects on other non-target organisms. Deltamethrin is extensively used in agriculture, animal husbandry, and domestic areas in the Lake Van basin. The aim of this study was to determine the cytotoxic, genotoxic, and oxidative damage from deltamethrin on the primary hepatocyte culture of Lake Van fish (Alburnus tarichi). In this study, the toxic effects of different concentrations (0.01, 0.1, 1, and 10?µM) of deltamethrin in the primary hepatocyte culture of Lake Van fish were investigated via liver enzymes aspartase aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and the total antioxidant status (TAS), total oxidant status (TOS), lipid peroxidation (MDA), and DNA damage (8-OHdG).

Deltamethrin caused an increase in the AST and ALT levels dependent on the dosage and time. The TAS and TOS levels increased at the end of 24?h and there was no difference at the end of 48?h. Deltamethrin did not affect the MDA level, but increased the 8-OHdG (P?<?0.05). In conclusion, it can be said that high doses of deltamethrin (1 and 10?µM) have a toxic effect on the primary hepatocyte culture of Lake Van fish.

番茄柱式无土栽培研究

在立柱密度为 80cm× 80cm的”树林”式柱式无土栽培区种植番茄 (LycopersicumMill) ,品种是洋杂 2号和90 6 ,面积各有 5 4 0m2 (在非自控玻璃温室内 ) ,各含 6 36根立柱 ,每根柱种 3层共 9株 ,总共各有 5 72 4株 .番茄生长期间 ,柱上植株始终保持塔形排列 ,每株留 2穗果约 6只番茄 ,在不影响结果情况下注意去顶、剪叶和去除营养枝 ,以保持柱间有良好透光 .此外 ,在两行立柱之间地面 (除走道外 )铺设中高 10cm倒V字形双面铝 (Al)膜反光体 ,可使柱高 10 0cm以下的光照量增加 5 0 %左右 ,并超过了番茄的光合需要保持量E为 6 0 0～ 70 0 μEm-2 s-1[2 ] 的要求 .立柱由基质型盆钵组成 ,盆钵中的基质有陶粒、用过的香菇菌棒碎料加珍珠岩加有机肥料和难溶磷铁肥 ,于循环水中加入盆钵中没有的成分组成完全的平衡营养系统以循环浇灌 ,结果培养出了粗壮结果良好的的植株 .番茄洋杂 2号亩产为 5 184kg,是对照(深流栽培 )的 2 .4倍 ,又比土栽培的产量高 30 % ;品种 90 6亩产为 5 2 34kg,是对照土栽培的 2 .2倍 .图 2表 3参 2     

Vc二步发酵新菌系生长代谢的调节

研究了培养基和培养条件对新菌系大、小菌生长地代谢的影响。结果表明：培养基的碳源、葡萄糖/山梨糖浓度比、氮源、生长因子以及起始pH值、通气量等，可以有效地调节2-酮基-L-古龙酸的代谢产生数量，规范新菌系B529-Go.V.6的行为、生理状态，促进大小菌之间的协调，使其达到最佳状态。图2表6参5     

白僵菌分生孢子深层培养及其对马尾松毛虫的毒力

对 3株球孢白僵菌的液体深层培养研究表明,碳源、氮源对白僵菌液生分生孢子的形成具有显著影响.葡萄糖、蔗糖、乳糖是液体培养分生孢子的较好碳源,而黄豆粉、花生粉、(NH4 )2SO4则是较理想的氮源.吐温 80对白僵菌液生分生孢子的形成具有显著的影响,培养基中吐温 80含量在 0. 4% ~0. 8%之间时,有利于液生分生孢子的形成,产孢量(n)达 7. 30×1010 ~24. 13×1010 L-1.对 2~3龄马尾松毛虫幼虫的室内毒力测定表明,液生分生孢子和气生分生孢子对马尾松毛虫的毒力相近.图 1表 6参 16
