The objective of this study was to characterize recovered soil fines from construction and demolition (C&D) waste recycling facilities for trace organic pollutants. Over a period of 18 months, five sampling trips were made to 14 C&D waste recycling facilities in Florida. Screened soil fines were collected from older stockpiles and newly generated piles at the sites. The samples were analyzed for the total concentration (mg/kg) of a series of volatile organic compound (VOCs) and semi-volatile organic compounds (semi-VOCs). The synthetic precipitation leaching procedure (SPLP) test was also performed to evaluate the leachability of the trace organic chemicals. During the total analysis only a few volatile organic compounds were commonly found in the samples (trichlorofluoromethane, toluene, 4-isopropyltoluene, trimethylbenzene, xylenes, and methylene chloride). A total of nine VOCs were detected in the leaching test. Toluene showed the highest leachability among the compounds (61.3-92.0%), while trichlorofluoromethane, the most commonly detected compound from both the total and leaching tests, resulted in the lowest leachability (1.4-39.9%). For the semi-VOC analysis, three base-neutral semi-VOC compounds (bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, butyl benzyl phthalate, and di-n-butyl phthalate) and several PAHs (acenaphthene, pyrene, fluoranthene, and phenanthrene) were commonly detected in C&D fines samples. These compounds also leached during the SPLP leaching test (0.1-25%). No acid extractable compounds, pesticides, or PCBs were detected. The results of this study were further investigated to assess risk from land applied recovered soil fines by comparing total and leaching concentrations of recovered soil fines samples to risk-based standards. The results of this indicate that the organic chemicals in recovered soil fines from C&D debris recycling facilities were not of a major concern in terms of human risk and leaching risk to groundwater under reuse and contact scenarios. 相似文献

为研究种植密度对农田N2O排放的影响和探讨N2O排放季节性波动的原因,于1999~2000年小麦生长季在南京市郊江宁县进行了不同播种量(0、90、180和270kg/hm2)的大田试验.观测分析结果表明:在相同的气象条件和田间管理下,播种~越冬阶段的N2O排放不受播种量的影响,返青~成熟阶段的N2O排放通量与播种量成正比.裸地条件下的N2O排放与播量为90kg/hm2下的排放无明显差异.造成该生长季内N2O排放季节性波动的主要原因是降水,返青~成熟阶段的N2O排放通量随观测日前6d的加权平均降水量呈指数增加. 相似文献

ABSTRACT: Simulated daily precipitation, temperature, and runoff time series were compared in three mountainous basins in the United States: (1) the Animas River basin in Colorado, (2) the East Fork of the Carson River basin in Nevada and California, and (3) the Cle Elum River basin in Washington State. Two methods of climate scenario generation were compared: delta change and statistical downscaling. The delta change method uses differences between simulated current and future climate conditions from the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research (HadCM2) General Circulation Model (GCM) added to observed time series of climate variables. A statistical downscaling (SDS) model was developed for each basin using station data and output from the National Center for Environmental Prediction/National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCEPINCAR) reanalysis regridded to the scale of HadCM2. The SDS model was then used to simulate local climate variables using HadCM2 output for current and future conditions. Surface climate variables from each scenario were used in a precipitation‐runoff model. Results from this study show that, in the basins tested, a precipitation‐runoff model can simulate realistic runoff series for current conditions using statistically down‐scaled NCEP output. But, use of downscaled HadCM2 output for current or future climate assessments are questionable because the GCM does not produce accurate estimates of the surface variables needed for runoff in these regions. Given the uncertainties in the GCMs ability to simulate current conditions based on either the delta change or downscaling approaches, future climate assessments based on either of these approaches must be treated with caution. 相似文献

ABSTRACT: The probable maximum flood (PMF) currently serves as the design standard for many U.S. dams. Floods used for design have increased and currently thousands of dams in the U.S. would be overtopped and possibly fail using the latest calculated PMF at each dam site. Some researchers have suggested that modifying dams to accommodate the PMF could be wasteful. Objections to using the PMF for dam modification include: (1) larger spillway capacity may increase annual downstream flood losses, (2) benefit‐cost ratios may be low, (3) construction accidents associated with dam modification may cause fatalities, and (4) the dollar amount spent to save lives by making dams safer is often very high. Based on these objections, a procedure is presented for evaluating the effectiveness of a proposed dam modification. A change in spillway design policy is recommended. Accepting the status quo at a dam that cannot accommodate the PMF may be the best course of action. 相似文献

论文对巴郎山区夏季降雨和不同海拔样地穿透水的H、O同位素特征进行了研究。由于8月底9月初冷气团的到来较大地改变了降雨的同位素特征,该地区夏季大气降水线为δD=9.93δ18,/sup>O+26.07,偏离全球降水线(GMWL)较多。降雨的温度效应和雨量效应表现出相互交叉的现象,表明该地区温度和雨量是交替起主导作用而引起降雨同位素组成变化的。H的同位素效应比O明显,其原因是H同位素分馏比O剧烈,从而对环境因子的响应比O灵敏,因此H同位素在森林水文研究中比O更有用。H同位素值在不同样地穿透水间存在差异,这是由它们不同的植被结构及周边微环境因子引起的水分蒸发状况和对雾水截获能力差异导致的。穿透水和降雨同位素值间存在较强线性关系。穿透水的同位素值不一定大于降雨,表明影响穿透水同位素值的因素不仅仅是水分蒸发和植被对雾水的截获,而应是多种因素的综合效应,对这些因素的全面了解将对同位素技术在森林水文研究中的进一步应用有重要意义。 相似文献

应用电感耦合等离子体原子发射光谱、质谱和离子色谱分析了2002年3月28日-4月8日在山东长岛县采集的共11对粗、细大气颗粒物样品的化学组成,探讨4月6-8日沙尘暴事件中大气颗粒物化学组分的变化和硫酸盐的形成.沙尘暴事件应区分前锋和后续部分,前锋与大气中各种污染物相互作用,具有硫富集的特征.后续部分较好地保持了长距离传输风沙尘本身的特征.硫酸盐的形成机理可能是多相氧化而不是简单的酸碱中和.硫酸铵是首先生成的含硫物种,这是细颗粒主导的形成过程.硫酸铵逐渐转化为其他硫酸盐,硫的成分也逐渐向粗颗粒转移.在沙尘暴事件中含硫污染物不但有一个从气相向颗粒物转变的过程,也有一个从细颗粒向粗颗粒转化的过程. 相似文献

利用硫酸盐还原菌(SRB)和金属离子沉淀剂对烟气SO2进行生物还原-化学沉淀去除,考察了碳源类型、乙酸(碳源)浓度、沉淀剂投加量和反应时间对SO3^2-去除的影响,研究表明,沉淀剂的加入导致SRB转化产生的S^2-能很快生成硫化物沉淀,其它副反应被抑制.乙酸C原子/SO3^2-的浓度比为1时,SO3^2-去除最大.随着沉淀剂投加量的增加,SO3^2-去除率增大.ZnCl2生化反应培养14d后,SO3^2-去除趋于完全.FeCl2生化反应培养7d后,SO3^2-去除趋于完全. 相似文献
