Retrofitting older vehicles with diesel particulate filter(DPF) is a cost-effective measure to quickly and efficiently reduce particulate matter emissions. This study experimentally analyzes real-world performance of buses retrofitted with CRT DPFs. 18 in-use Euro III technology urban and intercity buses were investigated for a period of 12 months. The influence of the DPF and of the vehicle natural aging on buses fuel economy are analyzed and discussed. While the effect of natural deterioration is about 1.2%–1.3%, DPF contribution to fuel economy penalty is found to be 0.6% to 1.8%, depending on the bus type. DPF filtration efficiency is analyzed throughout the study and found to be in average 96% in the size range of 23–560 nm. Four different load and non-load engine operating modes are investigated on their appropriateness for roadworthiness tests. High idle is found to be the most suitable regime for PN diagnostics considering particle number filtration efficiency. 相似文献

Coal combustion in the domestic stoves, which is common in most parts of the Chinese countryside, can release harmful substances into the air and cause health issues. In this study, particles emitted from laboratory stove combustion of the raw powder coals were analyzed for morphologies and chemical compositions by using transmission electron microscopy(TEM) coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry(EDX). The coal burning-derived individual particles were classified into two groups: carbonaceous particles(including soot aggregates and organic particles) and non-carbonaceous particles(including sulfate, mineral and metal particles). The non-carbonaceous particles, which constituted a majority of the coal burning-derived emissions, were subdivided into Si-rich, S-rich, K-rich,Ca-rich, and Fe-rich particles according to the elemental compositions. The Si-rich, S-rich and K-rich particles are commonly observed in the coal burning emission. The proportions for particles of different types exhibit obvious coal-issue dependence. Burning of coal with high ash yield could emit more non-carbonaceous particles, and burning of coal with high sulfur content can emit more S-rich particles. By comparing the S-rich particles from this coal burning experiment with those in the atmosphere, we draw a conclusion that some S-rich particles in the atmosphere in China could be mainly sourced from coal combustion. 相似文献

We investigated the possible drivers of the N:P stoichiometric shift and its relationship with micro-algal production of transparent exopolymeric particles (TEP) along a 35?km gradient of the Ganga River. The objective was to evaluate if the trade-off between N:P stoichiometry and production of TEP helps in maintaining water quality of the river. Mesocosm experiments were conducted to examine N:P-TEP linkages and its role in turbidity removal. In situ measurements did not show Si to be a limiting nutrient (N:Si?1.3). The TEP production increased with decreasing N:P ratio and peaked at N:P::6:1 with dominance of Aulacosira granulata and Fragilaria intermedia. Settling efficiency, turbidity removal and sedimentation of TEP, biogenic silica (BSi) and biomass all increased with decreasing N:P ratio proportionately to the amount of TEP produced in the mesocosm. The study demonstrates that trade-off between N:P stoichiometry and the production of TEP generates feedback to buffer the ecological impacts of nutrient pollution. 相似文献

通过模拟民用煤炭燃烧,采集了5种不同成熟度的典型块煤燃烧排放的单颗粒和PM2.5样品.利用带能谱仪的透射电镜研究了金属颗粒的单颗粒特征,运用电感耦合等离子体质谱仪和发射光谱仪获得了PM2.5样品中14种金属元素(包括8种重金属)的浓度特征.结果显示,民用燃煤排放的含金属元素的颗粒物主要有矿物颗粒、部分碳质颗粒、富K颗粒、富S[K]颗粒、富Fe颗粒、富Zn颗粒和富Pb颗粒共7种.5种民用燃煤排放的14种金属元素占PM2.5的1.29%~15.54%,其中Al、Ca和Na占金属元素总量的57%~80%,是民用燃煤排放的主要的金属元素;V、Cr、Mn、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn和Pb这8种重金属元素占PM2.5的0.09%~2.53%,其中Zn和Pb占重金属总量的54%~91%,在民用燃煤排放的重金属中占主导.单颗粒分析结果显示Zn和Pb元素主要富集在粒径小于1μm的富Zn和富Pb颗粒中,这些细颗粒能够直接进入人体,对人体健康造成威胁.因此,建议居民应通过使用精煤或天然气等清洁能源来减少重金属的排放. 相似文献

In this study, hygroscopicity of size-segregated ambient submicron particles in urban Hangzhou was studied from 28th December 2009 to 18th January 2010, using a hygroscopicity-tandem differential mobility analyzer (H-TDMA). The submicron particles in Hangzhou showed a minor hygroscopic growth at 73% relative humidity (RH), and then grew significantly between 77% and 82% RH. Monomodal distribution accounted for 90% for 30 nm particles, 17% for 50 nm particles, and less than 7% for particles larger than 50 nm at 82% RH. Deconvolution of the bimodal distribution indicated a less hygroscopic group and a more hygroscopic group, with the fraction of the more hygroscopic group increasing with the initial dry particle size and then remaining almost constant for accumulation mode particles. Our results imply that submicron particles in urban Hangzhou were almost entirely externally mixed, and the hygroscopic properties of ambient particles in urban Hangzhou were mainly a function of their size and chemical composition. 相似文献

A computational scheme has been developed and tested to simulate property exchange by advection and dispersion in estuaries at time and space scales that are well suited to ecological and management simulations, but are coarse relative to the demands of physical hydrodynamic models. An implementation of the Regional Ocean Model System (ROMS) for the Providence River and Narragansett Bay (RI, USA) was used to determine property exchanges between the spatial elements of an ecological box model. The basis for the method is the statistical tabulation of numerical dye experiments done with the full ROMS physical model. The ROMS model domain was subdivided into fifteen coarse boxes, each with two vertical layers, defining 30 elements that were used for the box model simulations. Dye concentrations were set to arbitrary initial concentrations for all ROMS grids in the large elements, and the ROMS model was run for 24 h. The final distribution of the dye among the elements was used as a tracer for property exchange over that day and was used to develop an exchange matrix. Box model predictions of salinity over 77 days in each element compared favorably with ROMS simulated salinity averaged over the same spatial elements, although the disparity was greater in areas where large river inflows caused strong gradients in ROMS within elements assumed to be homogeneous in the box model. The 77-day simulation included periods of high and low river flow. Despite the large size of the spatial elements, dispersion artifacts were small, much less than the modeled daily exchanges. While others have taken a similar approach, we found a number of theoretical and practical considerations deserved careful attention for this approach to perform satisfactorily. Whereas the full ROMS model takes 9 days on a powerful computing cluster to compute the physics simulation for 77 days, the box model simulates physics and biology for the same interval in 5 s on a personal computer, and a full year in under 1 min. The exchange matrix mixing model is a fast, cost effective, and convenient way to simulate daily variation of complex estuarine physics in ecological modeling at appropriate scales of space and time. 相似文献

Intense electric fields up to 107 V/m generate very interesting and useful applications for the environment. Several processes using high electrical voltage for environment preservation were developed in the laboratory. 通过SEM-EDX和XRD对采集来的地铁颗粒物(PM10和PM2.5)进行形貌和成分分析,研究结果表明:地铁颗粒物具有粒径大(可达10 μm)、形状不规则、表面具有明显的刮擦痕迹等特征,主要成分为Si、C、O和Fe;其中Fe主要以Fe3O4、Fe2O3等氧化物的形式存在。针对地铁颗粒物含铁磁的特性,采用磁性过滤控制方法对地铁颗粒物开展研究,构建的磁性过滤装置对该地铁颗粒物的捕获效果可达90%以上,在一定磁性强度范围内(0 ~ 0. 300 T),滤网对颗粒物的捕获效果随着对其施加的磁性强度增加而提升,当施加的磁场强度为0. 300 T时,装置对地铁颗粒物的捕获效率接近100%,比相同条件下对飞灰的捕获效率高出10% ~ 15%,建议把磁过滤作为一种前处理装置用在含磁颗粒物处理上。 相似文献
