从南极普利兹湾深海沉积物中筛选到一株同时产多种冷适应酶的菌株NJ197,细菌学形态鉴定及16S rDNA序列分析表明,该菌株属于假单胞菌属(Pseudomonas).生长特性研究表明,该菌株属于耐冷菌,其最适生长温度为5~15℃.NJ197菌株能利用多种单一的碳、氮源产酶,最适产酶温度为20℃,最高产酶温度为30℃.粗酶液经硫酸铵盐析、DEAE cellulose-52柱层析初步分离纯化后进行酶学性质的研究.该菌株所分泌复合酶中脂肪酶和淀粉酶的活力最高,它们的最适作用温度分别为30℃和35℃,最适pH值分别为9.0和9.5,对热敏感,是典型的碱性冷适应复合酶.Ca2 、Mn2 、Cu2 、Co2 、Fe3 对该复合酶有较为明显的激活作用,而Zn2 、Hg2 、Rb2 、Cd2 、EDTA则能抑制酶活.其中脂肪酶能在高浓度的SDS、CHAPS等变性剂中表现出较好的稳定性.图5表2参21 相似文献

Vegetation is sparsely distributed over Antarctica's ice‐free ground, and distinct plant communities are present in each of the continent's 15 recently identified Antarctic Conservation Biogeographic Regions (ACBRs). With rapidly increasing human activity in Antarctica, terrestrial plant communities are at risk of damage or destruction by trampling, overland transport, and infrastructure construction and from the impacts of anthropogenically introduced species, as well as uncontrollable pressures such as fur seal (Arctocephalus gazella) activity and climate change. Under the Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty, the conservation of plant communities can be enacted and facilitated through the designation of Antarctic Specially Protected Areas (ASPAs). We examined the distribution within the 15 ACBRs of the 33 ASPAs whose explicit purpose includes protecting macroscopic terrestrial flora. We completed the first survey using normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) satellite remote sensing to provide baseline data on the extent of vegetation cover in all ASPAs designated for plant protection in Antarctica. Large omissions in the protection of Antarctic botanical diversity were found. There was no protection of plant communities in 6 ACBRs, and in another 6, <0.4% of the ACBR area was included in an ASPA that protected vegetation. Protected vegetation cover within the 33 ASPAs totaled 16.1 km2 for the entire Antarctic continent; over half was within a single protected area. Over 96% of the protected vegetation was contained in 2 ACBRs, which together contributed only 7.8% of the continent's ice‐free ground. We conclude that Antarctic botanical diversity is clearly inadequately protected and call for systematic designation of ASPAs protecting plant communities by the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties, the members of the governing body of the continent. 相似文献

Seasonally breeding predators, which are limited in the time available for provisioning young at a central location, and
by the fasting abilities of the young, are likely to maximize energy delivery to the young by maximizing the rate of energy
delivery averaged over the whole period of investment. Reduction in food availability or increased foraging costs will alter
the optimal behavior of individuals. This study examined the behavioral adaptations of a diving predator, the Antarctic fur
seal, to increased foraging costs during lactation. One group of mothers (n=5, treatment) was fitted with additional drag to increase the cost of transport in comparison with a control group (n=8). At the scales of the individual dives, the treatment group made more shorter, shallower (< 30 m) dives. Compensation for
slower swimming speeds was achieved by diving at a steeper angle. Overall, diving behavior conformed to several specific theoretical
predictions but there were also departures from theory, particularly concerning swimming speed during diving. Diving behavior
appears to be adjusted to maximize the proportion of time spent at the bottom of dives. At the scale of diving bouts, no difference
was observed between the treatment and control groups in terms of the frequency and duration of bouts and there was also no
difference between the two groups in terms of the proportion of time spent diving. At the scale of complete foraging cycles,
time taken to return to the pup was significantly longer in the treatment group but there was no difference in the rate of
delivery of energy (measured from pup growth rate) to the pups in each group. Since mothers in the treatment group did not
use significantly more body reserves, we conclude that behavioral adjustments at the scale of individual dives allowed mothers
in the treatment group to compensate for the additional foraging costs. Pup growth rate appears to be less sensitive to the
foraging conditions experienced by mothers than foraging trip duration.

Antarctic lakes with simple plankton ecosystems are believed to be sensitive biological indicators of climate change. Models of the physical environment, in particular the ice layer, support understanding of how the ecosystems respond to meteorological variables. This paper describes how data from a previously reported automatic measuring probe and meteorological data from Davis station were used to develop a detailed thermodynamic model of the ice layer on Crooked Lake, one of the largest and deepest freshwater lakes in Antarctica. The general model structure is similar to a previously reported model of sea ice but with modifications specific to the Antarctic freshwater lake case informed by the data. The model inputs are atmospheric variables as well as water temperature, ice albedo and the radiation extinction coefficient for the ice. Heat and radiation fluxes at the ice–air and ice–water boundaries are calculated using equations chosen for their suitability for the Antarctic. In the case of shortwave radiation, equations were fitted to data from the automatic probe. Using the heat fluxes to establish boundary conditions, and incorporating the known thermodynamic properties of ice, the temperature profile within the ice and the resulting growth and melt of the ice can be calculated. The model uses a largely mechanistic approach, with most equations taken from established thermodynamic theories or empirical studies and only one adjustable parameter related to the sensible heat flux from the water, which is not easily calculated from the available data. It was found to accurately reproduce ice temperature and ice thickness data for the year 2003, with r2 = 0.89, n = 2005. Finally, the model was simplified to run with air temperature as the only input variable and was shown to perform well—this suggests that freshwater lake ice is affected more by air temperature than any other variable, and is therefore a useful indicator of climate change in its own right. 相似文献

Many species of baleen whales were hunted to near extinction in the Southern Hemisphere. The recovery of these populations will be affected by the availability of krill, a major dietary component, in the Southern Ocean. We combine a novel energetics model for baleen whales with a state dependent foraging model to explore the impacts of an expanding krill fishery on baleen whales. We parameterize the model for blue whales, but with simple modifications it could be applied to most baleen whales. We predict that an expanding fishery will have a small but significant impact on the blue whale population through decreased birth rates. However, spreading the catch limit throughout the range of krill can reduce these effects. In addition, whales may be able to reduce these impacts through adaptive changes in foraging behavior. The relationship between krill abundance and blue whale foraging and reproductive success is nonlinear, such that larger reductions in krill biomass, potentially following a loss of sea ice due to climate change, could have a much larger negative impact on the recovery of blue whales. 相似文献

在南极地区已发现丁基锡污染,但有关苯基锡污染及有机锡在食物链中的传递等相关研究尚未见报道.为此,自2014年12月—2015年1月从南极菲尔德斯半岛周边采集了20种海洋生物共32个混合样品(即由多个同种生物个体混合而成),经甲醇/醋酸提取、四乙基硼化钠衍生和弗洛里硅土柱净化等过程处理后,采用气相色谱-质谱联用仪(GC-MS)对样品中一丁基锡(MBT)、二丁基锡(DBT)、三丁基锡(TBT)、二苯基锡(DPhT)和三苯基锡(TPhT)进行测定,并讨论了不同有机锡化合物在食物链中的传递特征.结果表明:海藻、无脊椎动物、鱼类、海豹、鸟类中有机锡含量分别为n.d.~19.5、8.6~11.0、10.8、4.2~12.9、21.6~27.0 ng·g~(-1)(以Sn计,若未注明均以干重计),生物样品中TBT、DBT、TPhT、DPhT均有检出,而MBT均未检出;大型海藻对TBT、DBT有一定富集能力,且TBT一定程度上表现出随营养级生物放大效应;TBT和TPhT在食物链顶端含量最高,同时发现高营养级的生物具有排出部分有机锡的能力. 相似文献
