Biomonitoring of industrial chemicals in human tissues and fluids has shown that all people carry a “body burden” of synthetic chemicals. Although measurement of an environmental chemical in a person's tissues/fluids is an indication of exposure, it does not necessarily mean the exposure concentration is sufficient to cause an adverse effect. Since humans are exposed to multiple chemicals, there may be a combination effect (e.g., additive, synergistic) associated with low-level exposures to multiple classes of contaminants, which may impact a variety of organ systems. The objective of this research is to link measures of body burden of environmental chemicals and a “holistic” measure of wellness. The approach is demonstrated using biomonitoring data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES). Forty-two chemicals were selected for analysis based on their detection levels. Six biological pathway-specific indices were evaluated using groups of chemicals associated with each pathway. Five of the six pathways were negatively associated with wellness. Three non-zero interaction terms were detected which may provide empirical evidence of crosstalk across pathways. The approach identified five of the 42 chemicals from a variety of classes (metals, pesticides, furans, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) as accounting for 71% of the weight linking body burden to wellness. Significant interactions were detected indicating the effect of smoking is exacerbated by body burden of environmental chemicals. Use of a holistic index on both sides of the exposure-health equation is a novel and promising empirical “systems biology” approach to risk evaluation of complex environmental exposures.  相似文献

利用响应面方法(RSM)对Fenton试剂处理甲萘酚废水工艺过程进行优化,考察了Fe2+浓度、H2O2浓度和初始p H 3种工艺条件对甲萘酚废水处理效果的影响,并提出Fenton试剂降解甲萘酚废水的数学模型及优化后的工艺参数。Fenton试剂降解甲萘酚废水的数学模型可以较好地模拟真实的曲面,方程的F值为24.90,相关系数(R2)为0.9573,调整相关系数(R2adj)为0.9188。通过优化得到最佳的工艺参数Fe2+浓度为0.89 g/L,H2O2浓度为0.79 g/L,p H为4.00。在此条件下,COD去除率的预测值为91.15%,与实测值90.78%接近。说明建立的模型能真实地反映各主要因素的影响,模型与实际情况吻合。  相似文献

This study explores long-term environmental fate of α-HCH in China from 1952 to 2007 using ChnGPERM (Chinese Gridded Pesticide Emission and Residue Model). The model captures well the temporal and spatial variations of α-HCH concentration in Chinese soils by comparing with a number of measured data across China in different periods. The results demonstrate α-HCH grasshopping effect in Eastern China and reveal several important features of the chemical in Northeast and Southeast China. It is found that Northeast China is a prominent sink region of α-HCH emitted from Chinese sources and α-HCH contamination in Southwest China is largely attributed to foreign sources. Southeast China is shown to be a major source contributing to α-HCH contamination in Northeast China, incurred by several environmental factors including temperature, soil organic carbon content, wind field and precipitation.  相似文献

1-氨基 -2 -萘酚 -4 -磺酸 ( 1,2 ,4-酸 )和 2 -萘酚自不同双组分吸附体系中吸附至复合功能吸附树脂 AL -1上的吸附等温线符合 F reundlich等温模型。1,2 ,4-酸的吸附为吸热过程 ,而 2 -萘酚的吸附为放热过程。固相上的 2 -萘酚几乎不影响 1,2 ,4-酸的吸附 ,而固相上的 1,2 ,4-酸大大削弱了 2 -萘酚的吸附。两种溶质在吸附位点上的竞争为主要作用机制。  相似文献

采用氨氧化菌Nitrosomonas europaea降解17α-乙炔雌二醇(EE2),考察降解过程中氨氮的作用以及EE2的降解机制.结果表明,N.europaea降解EE2属于共代谢过程,氨氮是共代谢发生的必要条件.氨氧化过程产生的亚硝氮会在酸性条件下将EE2硝基化,反应符合一级动力学模型,降解速率常数与亚硝酸根、H+及游离亚硝酸浓度成正相关.通过控制pH值大于7.5抑制硝基化反应,证实了N.europaea对EE2的生物降解作用,生物降解反应符合一级动力学模型且降解速率常数为0.0069h-1.当N.europaea氨氧化反应导致pH值低于7.5时,EE2的去除存在生物降解和硝基化的协同作用,EE2去除符合一级动力学模型且降解速率常数为0.0093h-1.同时还发现一种未曾报道过的EE2生物降解产物M613,对于其雌激素效应和毒性还需进一步探究.  相似文献

Abstract

In this study, the toxicity of CuO (40?nm), α-Al2O3 (40?nm), and α-Fe2O3 (20–40?nm) nanoparticles was comparatively investigated on Carcinus aestuarii. Crabs were semi-statically exposed to 1?mg/L of each for 14?days and their accumulation and distribution in tissue and hemolymph, potential oxidative stress mechanism, total hemocyte counts and types, and the osmoregulatory and ionoregulatory responses were determined. The tissue distribution of CuO nanoparticles was hepatopancreas?>?hemolymph?≥?gill?> muscle, for α-Fe2O3 gill?>?hepatopancreas?>?muscle?> hemolymph, and for α-Al2O3 gill?>?muscle?≥?hemolymph?> hepatopancreas. While α-Al2O3 and α-Fe2O3 NPs, induced lipid peroxidation and changes in antioxidant enzyme activity in the hepatopancreas tissue, the oxidative damage caused by the CuO nanoparticles was minimal. All three nanoparticles, copper in particular, elicit osmoregulatory and ionoregulatory toxicity at this concentration, due to the inhibition of Na+, K+-ATPase activity in the gill and depletion of hemolymph and carcass ion concentrations.  相似文献

合适的内参基因对准确定量目标基因表达水平非常重要。利用实时定量聚合酶链式反应(RT-qPCR)分析了不同发育阶段和雌激素暴露条件下栉孔扇贝性腺组织中β-actin、β-TUB、EF-lα、18SrRNA和GAPDH5个内参基因的表达水平,并利用RefFinder软件对其表达稳定性进行了分析。结果表明:在所考察的内参基因中,EF-lα在栉孔扇贝不同发育阶段和雌激素暴露下的表达均最为稳定,可作为定量目标基因表达水平的内参基因之一。  相似文献

The effect of the spin-trap α-phenyl-N-t-butylnitrone (PBN) on the formation of fatty acid dimers induced by the anoxic microsomal metabolism of tetrachloromethane was investigated in vitro, in particular, with respect to cross-linking of arachidonic acid with a second one (C20–C20) and of arachidonic acid with docosahexaenoic acid (C20–C22). PBN exerted no effect on anaerobic tetrachloromethane metabolism but inhibited dimer formation, half-maximally at a concentration of 0.1 mmol L?1. Trichloromethyl octadecenoic acid was also found, but at levels 10-fold lower than the fatty acid dimers. The data suggest that the hepato-protective effect of PBN against tetrachloromethane-toxicity may be due to its ability to scavenge fatty acid radicals, resulting in stable, non-reactive entities, which do not undergo secondary reactions such as cross-linking. The data confirm and extend previous findings that crosslinking plays an important role in tetrachloromethane toxicity and similar cases of metabolic radical-induced toxicity.  相似文献

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles possess the potential to coexist with Copper (Cu2+) in soil. The individual and combined toxicity of these two chemicals was evaluated using the bacterium Bacillus subtilis, a known soil model bacterium. Cu2+ (6.25–50?µg?mL?1) alone produced toxicity to bacteria as evidenced by the decreased cell viability and deceased α-amylase production. The addition of TiO2 (50?mg?mL?1) enhanced the Cu2+-induced decrease in cell viability but elevated amylase activity. TiO2 did not markedly affect the growth rate and lag period. A primary cause of TiO2 increasing Cu2+ toxicity is presumed to be associated with hydroxyl radical formation, while increased amylase activity is considered to arise from Cu2+ facilitating TiO2 degradation ability.  相似文献

通过实地调查某焦化厂污染场地污染现状,结果表明:该场地土壤和地下水以多环芳烃(PAHs)有机类污染为主,土壤中苯并(仅)芘和多环芳烃污染以1.5m以内表层土污染为主,随着深度的增加浓度逐渐降低,弱透水层表现出良好的阻隔作用。沿着地下水流动方向,地下水中多环芳烃浓度逐渐降低,经过约400m的迁移,由17296μg/L降至111μg/L;苯并(α)芘经过200m的迁移,由18.3μg/L降至0,地下水流动导致污染物在包气带横向扩散。1号孔、3号孔和4号孔所在地表层土壤中苯并(α)芘的单个污染物的致癌风险分别为0.0278、0.0209和1.496,远远超出可接受水平,因此上述孔位所在地附近表层土壤需重点治理。  相似文献
