Effective population size, a central concept in conservation biology, is now routinely estimated from genetic surveys and can also be theoretically predicted from demographic, life‐history, and mating‐system data. By evaluating the consistency of theoretical predictions with empirically estimated effective size, insights can be gained regarding life‐history characteristics and the relative impact of different life‐history traits on genetic drift. These insights can be used to design and inform management strategies aimed at increasing effective population size. We demonstrated this approach by addressing the conservation of a reintroduced population of Asiatic wild ass (Equus hemionus). We estimated the variance effective size (Nev) from genetic data () and formulated predictions for the impacts on Nev of demography, polygyny, female variance in lifetime reproductive success (RS), and heritability of female RS. By contrasting the genetic estimation with theoretical predictions, we found that polygyny was the strongest factor affecting genetic drift because only when accounting for polygyny were predictions consistent with the genetically measured Nev. The comparison of effective‐size estimation and predictions indicated that 10.6% of the males mated per generation when heritability of female RS was unaccounted for (polygyny responsible for 81% decrease in Nev) and 19.5% mated when female RS was accounted for (polygyny responsible for 67% decrease in Nev). Heritability of female RS also affected Nev; (heritability responsible for 41% decrease in Nev). The low effective size is of concern, and we suggest that management actions focus on factors identified as strongly affecting , namely, increasing the availability of artificial water sources to increase number of dominant males contributing to the gene pool. This approach, evaluating life‐history hypotheses in light of their impact on effective population size, and contrasting predictions with genetic measurements, is a general, applicable strategy that can be used to inform conservation practice.  相似文献

为了研究地震对储罐造成的影响,结合历史上储罐的震害资料,将储罐的损伤程度进行分级,通过采用Bayes方法估计Probit模型参数,再转化成储罐的损伤概率,给出了各个损伤状态下的模型参数及给定地震加速度下储罐的损伤概率,提出了1种基于Probit -Bayes方法估计储罐易损性的计算方法。结果表明:所提出的地震损伤计算方法,能够有效的评估储罐在不同地震加速度下的损伤程度,可为震后储罐的安全评估提供理论依据。  相似文献

在模拟烟气中研究了MnOx/a-Al2O3催化剂对烟气零价汞(Hg0)的催化氧化效果,以及反应条件对Hg0氧化率的影响.结果表明,300℃时催化剂的活性最大,模拟烟气含有20mL/m3 HCl时Hg0的氧化率达到91%.在8000~32000h-1空速范围内,Hg0氧化率保持在90%以上;空速提高到96000h-1时,氧化率开始下降,并与空速成反比.烟气中的SO2与HCl竞争催化剂上的活性位,对催化氧化反应有一定抑制,500mL/m3 SO2使零价汞的氧化率下降约20%.此外,还对MnOx催化氧化零价汞的反应机制进行了探讨.  相似文献

通过固定床实验系统模拟烟气脱除Hg0的实验,研究了布袋常用的聚苯硫醚(polyphenylene sulfide,PPS)滤料协同飞灰-CaCO3配方型吸附剂对模拟烟气中Hg0的脱除效率,以及不同温度、气体成分对Hg0氧化及吸附的影响,分析了其影响机理。结果表明,在温度为120℃,N2+4%O2的条件下,质量比为3∶1的飞灰-CaCO3配方型吸附剂对Hg0的脱除效率最高,虽低于纯飞灰条件下的28%,但其吸附催化寿命较长;温度越高,Hg0的脱除效率越低,PPS滤料协同飞灰-CaCO3配方型吸附剂对Hg0的吸附主要表现为物理吸附;HCl对脱除Hg0的促进作用较为明显;SO2条件下其附加产物对Hg0的脱除表现出一定的抑制作用;NO对Hg0的脱除具有一定的促进作用,但与HCl相比,其促进效果较弱。  相似文献

为高效去除水体中的对硝基苯甲酸、开发新型水处理技术,提出以超声与单质锌联用降解水中的对硝基苯甲酸。考察了锌投加量、溶液初始pH、声功率及溶液初始浓度对拟一级反应速率常数(k0US/Zn)的影响,比较了US、Zn0和US/Zn03体系下的降解常数,并对US/Zn0体系的降解机理进行了初探。结果表明,以上4种因素对k0US/Zn均有很大影响,k0US/Zn分别在溶液初始pH为5、声功率为120 W、溶液初始浓度为0.04 mmol/L时达到最大值,且随着锌投加量的增加而增加。超声与单质锌在降解对硝基苯甲酸的过程中存在很好的协同作用,在最优条件下,k0US/Zn=0.052 min-1,分别是单独超声降解及单独锌降解的21.5倍和2.53倍。在联用体系中,主要是依靠OH·氧化及单质锌还原的相互加强来去除对硝基苯甲酸。  相似文献

The pre-modern history of population change in the Fuping County (Shaanxi Province, China) during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (AD 1368–1911) was reconstructed using historical sources. The Fuping County experienced two major population collapses, i.e. the late Ming Dynasty (1550–1640s) and the 1860–1880s. The first one was caused by the great AD 1556 earthquake and the extreme droughts and warfare in the 1630–1640s. The second one was caused by warfare and extreme droughts. As a whole, natural disasters, including extreme drought and great earthquake, were the key direct causes of population collapse, and climatic cooling would be a potential indirect cause. It is very interesting that population collapses occurred almost synchronously in the Fuping County and whole China, and the trends of population change were also very similar. Climate–population relationship in China would be valid at finer geographic level, and climatic cooling could be a potential indirect cause of population collapse.  相似文献

This study aims to determine the risk factors for clinically‐significant post‐traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among Chinese medical rescue workers one year after the response to the Wenchuan earthquake on 12 May 2008. A sample of 337 medical workers who performed response work within the first three months of the event completed an online questionnaire, which included information on demographics, social support, the management and organisation of the disaster response, and an assessment of PTSD. Symptoms consistent with PTSD were prevalent in 17 per cent of the rescue workers. Those who developed PTSD symptoms were more likely to have been injured, experienced a water shortage, been disconnected from family and friends during the response, and have passive coping styles and neurotic personalities. Factors that cannot be changed easily, such as personality traits, should be evaluated prior to deployment to ensure that rescue workers at higher risk of PTSD are provided with adequate support before and during deployment.  相似文献

采用不同液相还原法制备纳米Fe0、Fe/Ni和Fe/Cu粒子,将其与反硝化细菌混合应用于地下水NO3--N去除研究。考察3种体系对NO3--N去除速率的影响,并对其脱氮产物及RNA水平上纳米铁系双金属对反硝化细菌的毒性效应进行了分析和讨论。结果表明,9 d内纳米Fe0体系可完全将NO3--N去除,过程中伴随NO2--N先升高后降低的生成趋势,NH 4+-N生成52%;纳米Fe/Ni体系脱氮速率最快,6 d内可将NO 3--N完全去除,几乎未检测到NO 2--N的生成,而NH 4+-N的转化率高达69%;纳米Fe/Cu体系7 d内可将NO3--N去除完全,NH4+-N的生成率降低,仅39%,但是出现33%NO2--N积累。从反应前后反硝化细菌总RNA浓度变化看,3种纳米粒子对反硝化细菌的毒性大小为纳米Fe/Ni﹥纳米Fe/Cu﹥纳米Fe0。  相似文献

利用Fe(0)-EDTA-空气(ZEA)体系处理活性黑模拟染料废水。考察了活性黑初始浓度、反应温度、EDTA浓度和溶液酸度对降解效果的影响,用紫外可见吸收光谱检测了染料的降解过程。结果表明,Fe(0)-EDTA混合物在室温常压下,能够活化空气中的氧分子,进而使染料快速降解,升高温度和增加溶液酸度均能提高降解率。在pH为5.35,活性黑初始浓度为25 mg/L,EDTA浓度为0.1 mmol/L,Fe粉用量0.20 g,温度25℃时,脱色率达到95.60%,符合1级反应动力学。  相似文献
