Media coverage of the ‘UK flooding crisis’: a social panorama

A disaster referred to by the press as the ‘UK flooding crisis’ occurred between December 2015 and January 2016. This study employed three different levels of analysis to identify a multidimensional perspective adopted in the disaster reporting of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). These levels revealed details about the social actors and their interactions. The set of news exposed diverse viewpoints on the crisis, from loss and damage to distinct affected subgroups to the various social engagement actions of aid and the multiplicity of technical response measures. The conclusions highlight considerable social amplitude in the BBC's coverage; however, owing to the reductionist approach of this media communicator, the field of action involving different social actors was not very clear in the content of the news, particularly with regard to cohesion, conflict/obstruction, and concernthe concept of crisis in its essence. In addition, the paper suggests new questions for future reports. 1     

Kinship,nomadism, and humanitarian aid among Somalis in Ethiopia

This paper draws on extended ethnographic and health policy research in eastern Ethiopia to reconsider kinship and nomadism among Somalis, as both of these cultural features transform in the contexts of recurrent humanitarian crises and episodic relief operations. The emergence and importance of new patterns of travel and migration among Somalis in Ethiopia reveal significant changes in the configurations and enactments of Somali kinship, on which many Somalis' mobility depends. Conversely, an analysis of Somalis' dynamic sub‐clan groupings and geographically dispersed kinship networks also highlights emergent patterns of mobility and migration that enable access to training opportunities and employment with relief organisations, as well as to distributions of humanitarian aid. Based on these findings, this paper argues that kinship and nomadism—both long central to Somalis' identities in Ethiopia—remain interdependent, coevolved, and key to their resilience and livelihoods in the face of recurrent crises and intermittent humanitarian responses.     

生物多样性保护知识产权条款的功能：危机与应对

生物多样性保护领域中的国际条约设有知识产权条款,知识产权条款发挥鼓励创新的基本功能。现有生物多样性利用中存在的知识产权问题集中在获取和惠益分享、遗传资源公开和利用知识产权产生的利益三方面。随着数字开源运动和数据库的大量兴起,协调型知识产权规则因缺乏强制力,使知识产权条款发挥的效力大打折扣。加之知识产权的专有属性和产业化,使得知识产权和多样性保护之间的冲突加剧。中国积极参与生物多样性保护全球治理,由被动参与者转换为积极推动者,确认和实施知识产权规则,关注数字序列信息的发展并加强农民权利的表达。     

基于随机Petri网的人道主义救援供应链业务流程协同建模及效能分析

伴随自然灾害频发而来的人道主义救援规模越来越大,针对救援业务流程的复杂性特征,从人道主义救援供应链业务流程分析入手,运用随机Petri网,对灾后响应阶段的救援供应链业务流程协同进行过程建模,并通过同构马尔科夫链,构建其可达图;应用Matlab软件,仿真人道主义救援供应链业务流程协同时间效能及运营效率。结果表明:模型能够检验救援业务流程中存在的瓶颈环节和耗时的主要活动,为提高人道主义救援供应链的运营效率提供理论支持及实践指导。     

金融危机对我国银行信贷风险的影响

金融危机爆发以来,我国企业尤其是中小企业受到了严重影响,国家为了保证中小企业的健康发展,中央政府、各地政府及各级商业银行相继出台了多项措施,来帮助小企业融资。其中部分措施在执行过程中无形中增加了商业银行的中小企业信贷风险。结合当前的金融危机背景,通过分析国家出台的政策给商业银行带来的信贷风险,分别从不同角度就如何加强当前商业银行的信贷风险控制进行了研究。     

环保企业应对金融危机的对策

对于全球金融危机,环保企业面临着机遇与挑战,应依靠技术创新,提升企业竞争力;调整结构,务实企业发展基础;建设企业文化,提高企业员工素质;多渠道融资,增强企业发展后劲;加强管理,提升企业核心竞争力。     

新冠疫情冲击下旅游相关研究的进展与展望

新冠疫情使全球旅游业在消费需求、旅游投资、区域格局、产业链条、企业生存、人员就业等方面遭受诸多挑战。基于文献计量与内容分析的方法,对Web of Science核心数据库中2020—2021年与新冠疫情相关的旅游文献进行了分析与整理,研究的内容可归纳为疫情冲击力的评估及旅游业恢复情景预测、疫情冲击下的旅游产业现状、游客和旅游从业者的心理与行为、旅游危机管理、旅游业发展与旅游研究新变化等5个研究角度。最后从新冠疫情对旅游业的影响、旅游危机管理、旅游产业变革3个方面提出了需要进一步研究的内容,以期对未来的旅游研究提供借鉴。
