Many public and large-scale construction projects inThailand have been faced with environmental and socialconflict problems. The major cause is that project sponsorsdo not address concerns of the public in a proper mannerduring EIA study. The Yadana Natural Gas Pipeline (YNGP)project is an example of a project which suffered theeffects of public demonstration. A public hearing, onetechnique of public participation, is a good mechanism tosolve conflict problems in a non-violent way which the ThaiGovernment usually adopts to settle conflict in constructionprojects. In the case of the YNGP, even after the conflictwas resolved hostility towards the project was noteliminated, as the opponents were not satisfied with thedecision. Therefore, this article examines the hearing on theYNGP project. The study found that it was too late to make any significantchanges to the project after the hearing was held, mostrespondents were not satisfied with the project. In otherwords, this hearing did not improve their perception ofenvironmental soundness of the project. The study showedthat the project's impact on the environment was notproperly addressed. The project sponsors did not providesufficient publicity for the meeting and the stage at whichthe hearing was conducted. Suggestions are made forimproving participation in future hearings.  相似文献

Leadership scholars have yet to identify a clear and consistent relationship between leader conscientiousness and followers' satisfaction with a leader. Drawing from socioanalytic theory and related personality research, we argue that the underlying motives of leader conscientiousness can manifest in systematically different behaviors aimed at team task accomplishment, ranging from rigid and order‐driven to relatively more adaptable approaches. Importantly, we posit that the relationship between a leader's conscientiousness and adaptability is conditioned by role authenticity (i.e., the extent to which a leader believes a role permits expressions of her or his “true self”). Hence, we articulate a conditional indirect effects model whereby leader conscientiousness and leader role authenticity jointly predict leader adaptability and, in turn, increasing levels of leader adaptability are positively associated with followers' shared satisfaction with their leader. Data from a sample of fire and rescue crews provide partial support for the model. Post hoc analyses suggest that the conditioning influence of leader role authenticity on leader conscientiousness is more informative when subfacets of conscientiousness are considered.  相似文献

结合城市环境质量现状,通过环境满意度空间分析,研究如何发挥公众参与在城市环境总体规划中的作用和影响.环境满意度调查要素包括空气质量、饮用水质量、地表水质量等十个方面.受访人群特征包括性别、年龄、学历及职业四个方面,空间分布包括城区、社区和人群三个尺度.分析结果表明,长春市居民对生态环境的满意度为51.81%;十个环境要素中,道路清扫保洁的满意度最高为55.81%,地表水质量最低为28.66%.以空气质量环境满意度为例进行空间分析,不同城区的空气质量综合排名和环境满意度排名基本一致,说明长春市大多数居民对空气质量的感知度比较准确.  相似文献

The purpose of this research is to gain an empirical understanding of airline passengers’ green switching intentions. A conceptual research model is used as a framework to examine the relationships among the experiential quality dimensions, green perceived value, green corporate image, green experiential satisfaction, green corporate reputation, green experiential loyalty and green switching intentions for the airline industry. The data used in this paper were based on a sample of 615 passengers who experienced the eco-friendly services of China Airlines, indicating that the proposed model fitted the data. The study's result will assist airline management to develop and implement market-orientated service strategies to increase the experiential quality dimensions, green perceived value, green corporate image, green experiential satisfaction, green corporate reputation and green experiential loyalty in order to decrease passengers’ green switching intentions.  相似文献

为了完善化工行业安全管理人员的人力资源管理系统,对安全管理人员的胜任力进行了访谈研究和问卷调查,在探索性因素分析的基础上建立了安全管理人员的胜任力模型,并分析了个胜任力要素的重要程度以及企业员工对其企业安全管理人员胜任力的满意度。结果表明,安全管理人员的胜任力包括人际合作、创新运作、敬业专业、积极主动和过程导向等5方面;员工对企业安全管理人员在过程导向方面的表现比较满意,对其他胜任力的满意度一般;通过对安全管理人员胜任力的满意度与重要度的比较分析,发现员工认为安全管理人员的创新运作和敬业专业胜任力需要提高。  相似文献

Aims. The aim of this study was to examine self-perceived compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction among family physicians in Bosnia and Herzegovina and describe potential contributing factors. Methods. The cross-sectional study enrolled 120 family physicians. Professional quality of life compassion satisfaction and fatigue version 5 (ProQOL5) was used to assess compassion satisfaction and two components of compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress and burnout. The symptoms of chronic fatigue were evaluated using the Chalder fatigue scale. Results. The majority of family physicians had moderate levels of compassion satisfaction (70%), burnout (75%) and secondary traumatic stress (55.8%). Family physicians with higher levels of secondary traumatic stress reported chronic fatigue (p?=?0.001), longer length of service (p?=?0.024) and residency training (p?=?0.041). Chronic fatigue (p?=?0.001), living in a rural environment (p?=?0.033), larger size of practice (p?=?0.006) and high number of patients with chronic disease (p?=?0.001) were associated with a higher risk of burnout. Conclusion. Family physicians with large practices, long years of experience, a high number of chronically ill patients and experiencing chronic fatigue are at risk of developing compassion fatigue. A systematic exploration of compassion fatigue in relation to working conditions might provide an appropriate starting point for the development of preventive interventions.  相似文献

Scholars are concerned that contingent workers experience more adverse psychological job outcomes than permanent employees, but the empirical work on job satisfaction is mixed. The purpose of this study was to quantitatively summarize the potential mean differences in job satisfaction between contingent workers and permanent employees. Meta‐analytic results from 72 primary studies (N = 237 856) suggest that compared with permanent employees, contingent workers experience lower job satisfaction (d = ?0.21); but when outlying primary studies are removed, the mean difference is small but significant (d = ?0.06). Methodological artifacts explain small but significant differences in job satisfaction but do not account for much variance. Moderator analyses support previous findings that contingent workers are not a homogeneous group; some contingent workers (e.g., agency workers) experience lower job satisfaction than permanent employees, whereas the job satisfaction of other contingent workers (e.g., contractors) is similar to permanent employees. The findings have implications for increasing our understanding of job satisfaction by showing that job satisfaction appears to vary by employment type. Practical implications suggest that extending human resource practices to contingent workers may increase their job satisfaction, which has been shown to influence job performance, citizenship behaviors, and turnover. Social and environmental goals are often mutually reinforcing. Urban forms may encourage social sustainability as well as social inclusion or may have the potential to create areas of crime and social exclusion. The issues of relationship between sustainable development and urban form have given birth to new paradigms of design approach such as new urbanism, the compact city and the eco-city. This paper examines the impact of urban form on social sustainability at the neighbourhood level. It seeks to better understand the relationship between urban form and social sustainability by comparing three neighbourhoods with dissimilar urban forms in Delhi, India. Household surveys and observation surveys in these three neighbourhoods were conducted, and it was found that the urban form of a neighbourhood plays a very important role in creating a socially sustainable residential neighbourhood. The study established that social interactions within the communities are higher when dwelling units are placed around the public realm or common open space. The study demonstrated that provision of high quality and well-located open space at the precinct level, mixed land use and good accessibility to the public realm and social infrastructure play an important role in increasing the social sustainability of the neighbourhood.  相似文献
