The presence of heavy metals(HMs) in particulate matters(PMs) particularly fine particles such as PM_(2.5) poses potential risk to the health of human being. The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents of HMs in PM_(2.5) in the atmospheric monitoring stations in Isfahan city,Iran, in different seasons between March 2014 and March 2015 and their source identification using principle component analysis(PCA). The samples of PM_(2.5) were taken using a high volume sampler in 7 monitoring stations located throughout the city and industrial zones since March 2014 to March 2015. The HMs content of the samples was measured using ICP-MS.The results showed that the concentrations of As, Cd and Ni were in a range of 23–36, 1–12,and 5–76 ng/m~3 at all the stations which exceeded the US-EPA standards. Furthermore,the concentrations of Cr and Cu reached to 153 and 167 ng/m~3 in some stations which were also higher than the standard levels. Depending on the potential sources of HMs, their concentration in PM_(2.5) through the various seasons was different. PCA illustrated that the different potential sources of HMs in the atmosphere, showing that the most important sources of HMs originated from fossil fuel combustion, abrasion of vehicle tires, industrial activities(e.g., iron and steel industries) and dust storms. Management and control of air pollution of industrial plants and vehicles are suggested for decreasing the risk of the HMs in the region. 相似文献

It is highly important to analyze the acoustic properties of workrooms in order to identify best noise control measures from the standpoint of noise exposure limits. Due to the fact that sound pressure is dependent upon environments, it cannot be a suitable parameter for determining the share of workroom acoustic characteristics in producing noise pollution. This paper aims to empirically analyze noise source characteristics and acoustic properties of noisy embroidery workrooms based on special parameters. In this regard, reverberation time as the special room acoustic parameter in 30 workrooms was measured based on ISO 3382-2. Sound power quantity of embroidery machines was also determined based on ISO 9614-3. Multiple linear regression was employed for predicting reverberation time based on acoustic features of the workrooms using MATLAB software. The results showed that the measured reverberation times in most of the workrooms were approximately within the ranges recommended by ISO 11690-1. Similarity between reverberation time values calculated by the Sabine formula and measured values was relatively poor (R 2?=?0.39). This can be due to the inaccurate estimation of the acoustic influence of furniture and formula preconditions. Therefore, this value cannot be considered representative of an actual acoustic room. However, the prediction performance of the regression method with root mean square error (RMSE)?=?0.23 s and R 2?=?0.69 is relatively acceptable. Because the sound power of the embroidery machines was relatively high, these sources get the highest priority when it comes to applying noise controls. Finally, an objective approach for the determination of the share of workroom acoustic characteristics in producing noise could facilitate the identification of cost-effective noise controls. 相似文献

polymerization through in situ ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone in the presence of starch, Sn(Oct)2 (Tin(II) 2-ethyl hexanoate) as an initiator/catalyst and silicate layers. In fact, the related composites were prepared in
solution method, bulk polymerization and in situ polymerization methods with introducing the mineral clay. The effect of kind
of clay on d-spacing of silicate layers was investigated and the obtained nanocomposites were analyzed using X-ray diffraction.
The obtained compounds were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR). Morphology of the prepared nanocomposites
was investigated using scanning electron microscopy and DSC enhanced the study of thermal behaviour of the prepared composite

The chemical composition of 59 well water samples throughout the Alisadr area, Hamadan, western Iran was determined in order to describe the background ion concentration and to identify the major hydrogeochemical processes that control the observed groundwater chemistry. The hydrochemical types, Ca–HCO3, Ca–SO4, dominate the largest part of the groundwater followed by water types Ca–Cl and Mg–HCO3. Total hardness indicated that 30% of groundwater samples fell in the very hard water category. Ninety-seven percent of the water samples showed nitrate ( ${\rm NO}_{3}^{-})$ concentrations above the human affected value (13 mg l???1 ${\rm NO}_{3}^{-})$ , while 15% exceeded the maximum acceptable level (50 mg l???1 ${\rm NO}_{3}^{-})$ according to WHO regulations. With respect to sodium adsorption ratio, the groundwater can be used for irrigation on almost all soils with little danger of the developing harmful levels of exchangeable Na?+?. But with respect to electrical conductivity, the water quality for irrigation was low to medium, providing the necessary drainage to avoid the buildup of toxic salt concentrations. Geochemical modeling using PHREEQC enabled prediction of the saturation state of minerals and indicated the dissolution and precipitation reactions occurring in the groundwater. Groundwaters were undersaturated with respect to amorphous silica. Stability diagram indicated that the dominant cluster of groundwater samples fell into the K-feldspar field. 相似文献

Leaching of nitrogen from calcareous soils in western Iran: a soil leaching column study 总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
Nitrogen (N) leaching has become a matter of worldwide concern. The objectives of this study were: (1) to use soil columns to investigate the leaching of nitrate ( $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ ), ammonium ( $ {\text{NH}}_4^{ + } $ ), and nitrite ( $ {\text{NO}}_2^{ - } $ ) from calcareous soils that had received an average of 200?kg?1 N?ha?1?year?1 for the previous 30?years and (2) to determine the relationship between soil properties and $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ , $ {\text{NH}}_4^{ + } $ , and $ {\text{NO}}_2^{ - } $ leaching. The soils used in this study ranged in texture from clay to sandy loam. Leaching experiments were conducted under saturation conditions and consisted of the collection of 1,047–2,524?mL of leachate (12 pore volumes (PVs)), which was equivalent to 534–1,286?mm from rainfall or irrigation. Losses of $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ ranged from 62 to 437?kg?ha?1, while losses of $ {\text{NH}}_4^{ + } $ and $ {\text{NO}}_2^{ - } $ ranged from 2.5 to 19.3?kg?ha?1 and 0.1 to 10.6?kg?ha?1, respectively. Leaching rates differed between soil samples. The initial and secondary rate of $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ leaching was determined using an exponential model, and it ranged from 2.8 to 14.7?mg?kg?1 PV?1 and 0.11 to 0.32?mg?kg?1 PV?1. Greater leaching rates in the initial period could be due to leaching of $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ in solution, while the secondary leaching might be attributable to the diffusion-controlled transfer of $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ between mobile and immobile liquid phases. Analysis of variance indicated that the effects of soil type on total $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ leaching were highly significant (p?<?0.001). The results showed that soil $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ concentration was positively correlated with the peak concentration of $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ (r?=?0.86; p?<?0.01) and the total $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ leached (r?=?0.93; p?<?0.01). In addition, the total $ {\text{NH}}_4^{ + } $ leached was positively correlated with silt (r?=?0.67; p?<?0.05), clay (r?=?0.61; p?<?0.05), and pH (r?=?0.77; p?<?0.01), which suggests that soil parameters might be useful indicators of $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ and $ {\text{NH}}_4^{ + } $ leaching from calcareous soils. Nitrate leaching from soils could threaten groundwater supplies, so possible strategies for minimizing $ {\text{NO}}_3^{ - } $ leaching losses may need to be considered. 相似文献

Phosphorus (P) sorption by sediments may play a vital role in buffering P concentration in the overlying water column. To characterize P sorption–desorption in the river bed sediments, 17 bed sediment samples collected from Abshineh river, in a semi arid region, Hamedan, western Iran were studied through a batch experiment and related to sediment composition. The sorbed fraction ranged from 4.4% to 5.4% and from 38.5% to 86.0% of sorption maxima when 20 and 1,500 mg P kg?1, respectively, was added to the sediment samples. Phosphorus sorption curves were well fitted to the Langmuir model. Zero equilibrium P concentration ranged from 0.10 to 0.51 mg P l?1 and varied with sediment characteristics. Phosphorus desorption differed strongly among the studied bed sediments and ranged from 10.8% to 80.2% when 1,500 mg P kg?1 was added. The results of the geochemical modelling indicated that even under low P addition (2 mg l?1), the solutions are mainly saturated with respect to hydroxyapatite and ß-tricalcium phosphate minerals and undersaturated with respect to other Ca and Mg minerals, whereas under higher P addition (150 mg l?1), most Ca–P solid phases, except the most soluble mineral (brushite), will likely precipitate. A Langmuir sorption maximum was positively correlated with carbonate calcium. Estimated P retention capacity of the bed sediments are generally lower and zero equilibrium P concentration values higher in upstream sites than at the downstream sites, suggesting that sediments in upstream and downstream may act as source and sink of P, respectively. 相似文献

Coral reefs in Tonga have been confronted by multiple threats of various origins, including large-scale disturbances and human-induced stressors. These reef communities have been poorly studied, and efficient conservation actions are urgently needed. The aim of this study was to: (1) examine the spatial distribution of coral assemblages in the lagoon of Tongatapu; (2) determine the degree to which spatial heterogeneity of adult corals is influenced by recruitment processes; and (3) examine the implications of these results in terms of conservation actions. We recorded a total of 37 adult and 28 juvenile coral genera, a mean density of 11.6 adult and 5.5 juvenile colonies m?2, and a dominance of Montipora, Acropora, and Porites. For seven of the 10 dominant genera, spatial patterns of adults were linked to the short-term recruitment pattern history. Despite a reduced diversity and abundance of adult corals in some areas, the lagoon of Tongatapu retains the potential for replenishment through recruitment of young corals. Consequently, we suggest that conservation actions should focus on reducing factors causing coral mortality and maintain suitable conditions for the establishment and growth of juvenile corals, thus increasing the probability that they will reach maturity and participate to the maintenance of local populations. Rather than establishing a large marine protected area, which will almost certainly suffer from a lack of control and poor enforcement, alternative conservation measures could be successfully implemented through the establishment of several small village-based marine reserves, as has been undertaken in other South Pacific islands with promising results. 相似文献

Acrylamide (ACR) is a chemical frequently used in both industrial and synthetic processes and may be produced during food processing. ACR at very high concentrations is postulated to exert its toxicity through the stimulation of an oxidative stress. ACR in excessive doses induces the central nervous system, reproduction, and genetic toxicity. However, ACR effects on the liver, a major organ of drug metabolism, have not been adequately explored. In addition, the role of mitochondria in an ACR-mediated hepatotoxicity is still unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the cytotoxic mechanisms attributed to ACR using isolated rat hepatocytes. Hepatocytes were isolated by the collagenase perfusion method and incubated with an EC502hr concentration of ACR for 3 hr. The EC502 hr of ACR on isolated rat hepatocytes was determined to be 1 mM. Based on our results, hepatocytes cytotoxicity of ACR (1 mM) was mediated by a reactive oxygen species formation and lipid peroxidation. Incubation of hepatocytes with ACR produced rapid hepatocyte glutathione depletion which is another marker of the cellular oxidative stress. ACR cytotoxicity was also associated with mitochondrial injury as evidenced by the decline of mitochondrial membrane potential and lysosomal membrane leakiness. Our results also showed that ACR induced caspase-3 activation, the final mediator of apoptosis signaling. These findings contribute to a better understanding underlying mechanisms involved in ACR hepatotoxicity originating from the oxidative stress and ending in mitochondrial/lysosomal damage and cell death signaling. 相似文献
