The aqueous solubilities of 27 insecticides and related compounds were determined. Diazinon, fensulfothion and paraoxon had solubilities greater than reported in the literature. The presence of impurities and/or additional components in the mixture altered the measured solubility values. Addition of acetone in amounts up to 1% (volume) produced increases in parathion solubility up to 11%. The pH values of the equilibrated solubility systems were, in most instances, acidic and, in several instances, were in the pH 3-4 range.  相似文献

The photo-Fenton reaction effect on the biodegradability improvement of 100 mg/L solution of 2,4-dichlorophenol (DCP) has been investigated. Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) at 5 and 21 days, BODn/ chemical oxygen demand (COD) and BODn/total organic carbon (TOC) ratios, average oxidation state, and inhibition on activated sludge were monitored. For 50 mg/L hydrogen peroxide and 10 mg/L iron(II) initial concentrations and 40 minutes of reaction time in the photo-Fenton process, the biodegradability of the pretreated solution, measured as BOD5/COD ratio, was improved from 0 for the original DCP solution up to 0.18 (BOD21/COD = 0.24). At that point, all DCP was eliminated from the solution. To study the effect of the pretreatment step, the biological oxidation of pretreated solutions was tested in two semicontinuous stirred tank reactors, one operated with activated sludge and one with biomass acclimated to phenol. Results showed that more than 80% TOC removal could be obtained by codigestion of the pretreated solution with municipal wastewater. Total organic carbon removals of approximately 60% were also obtained when the sole carbon source for the aerobic reactors was the pretreated solution. The hydraulic retention times used in the bioreactors were of the same order of magnitude as those used at domestic wastewater treatment plants (i.e., between 12 and 24 hours). Kinetic studies based on pseudo-first-order kinetics have also been carried out. Constants were found to be in range 0.67 to 1.7 L x g total volatiles suspended solids(-1) x h(-1).  相似文献

This communication describes a project concerning the minimization of water use and wastewater contaminant load in an industrial setting. The location was a plant manufacturing cast aluminum parts for the automotive industry. The water used for industrial purposes was some 16 000 m3/yr with COD values sometimes higher than 5000 mg O2/l. After a preliminary assessment, a global reduction in industrial water consumption of 33%, by means of re-circulation of the aqueous solution used for de-molding was achieved, implying a 95% reduction in de-molding solution. To minimize water use even further, recommendations to the company included a revision of the refrigeration closed-circuit and a better control of water used for general services.  相似文献

Abstract

The aqueous solubility of 39 insecticidal and related compounds was determined at 20±1.5°C, using a previously described shaking and centrifugation method. Fenamiphos, fenthion and methi‐dathion produced values substantially less than those reported in the literature whereas, aminocarb, diazinon, dicapthon, pirimiphos‐ethyl and pirimiphos‐methyl gave solubilities substantially greater than reported literature values.  相似文献

Agricultural intensification, at local and landscape scales, has caused a decrease in plant diversity and changes in species composition in cereal fields. To better understand the role of landscape complexity and farming systems in shaping plant assemblages, it is of interest to focus on functional traits rather than on floristic composition, which may help to highlight trends in vegetation patterns. We analysed the relative abundance of various functional attributes (different life forms, growth forms, wind-pollinated species and wind-dispersed species) at three contrasted field positions (boundary, edge and centre) of 29 organic and 29 conventional cereal fields distributed in 15 agrarian localities of NE Spain. Agricultural intensification affected the biological attributes of the vegetation in dryland Mediterranean cereal fields; local factors (farming system and position) had a more prominent role in affecting plant functional composition than the surrounding landscape. Local factors were important for life form distribution, growth form and pollination type, whereas landscape complexity mainly affected the proportion of wind-dispersed species. Therefore, depending on the objective of the study, it is important to select functional attributes sensitive to the different scales of agricultural intensification, especially because landscape complexity and land-use intensity are commonly related.  相似文献

Abstract

Terbufos, t. sulfoxide and t. sulfone (5 μg ml‐1) were incubated in natural, sterilized natural and distilled water, with initial pH values of 8.8, 8.8 and 6.0, respectively, at 20°C. First‐order disappearance was observed for the three compounds. Rates in natural and sterilized water were similar indicating chemical degradation predominated. Terbufos disappeared rapidly (t½>=3 days) in all systems. T. sulfoxide and t. sulfone were more persistent in the natural (t½>=18–40 days) and distilled water (t½>=280–350 days). Adsorption data for the three compounds in four soil‐water systems showed the decreasing order of adsorption to be terbufos>>t. sulfoxide=t. sulfone. Desorption from soils fortified at 5 μg g‐1 with water was examined for 4 successive 18‐hr cycles. T. sulfoxide and t. sulfone were totally desorbed; terbufos was too unstable to study. The mobility of the compound in soil eluted with water was in the order, t. sulfoxide=t. sulfone>> terbufos, in agreement with adsorption‐desorption results. The octanol‐water partitioning coefficients for terbufos, t. sulfoxide and t. sulfone, at 23°C, were 3:30 x 10 , 164, and 302, respectively.  相似文献

The present study determines the composition of the bio-waste fraction of waste and establishes correlations between the quality of this fraction and socio-economic/demographic variables. According to the Catalan Waste Agency [Agència de Residus de Catalunya (2004). Statistical data. Available from: ], the quantities of glass, paper/cardboard, light packaging and biodegradable material (those components of municipal waste that can be recovered, and have a separate collection) that were selectively collected in 2004 represent 25.6% by weight of the total municipal waste generated. There is a large spread of values from different cities. It is important to bear in mind that this percentage was calculated using the total weights of all of the materials present in the different bins used for selective solid waste collection, without taking account of the fact that many of these bins contain a certain amount of other, undesirable waste. In order to be able to determine the actual quantities that are recovered, it is necessary to establish the quality of the waste collected. To establish the quality of the waste collected, 350 samples were analysed, corresponding to the bins for the bio-waste fraction of solid waste in 193 different cities in Catalonia. Seven levels of quality were established for the study, depending on the amount of undesirable waste present. The results show certain correlations between the socio-economic/demographic factors studied and the percentage of undesirable waste present in the samples. The correlations presented here are not intended to be predictive, but rather indicative of a tendency, which should help us gain a better understanding of the behaviour of the society studied with respect to the separation of solid household waste at origin.  相似文献

We propose a new approach for modeling extreme values that are measured in time and space. First we assume that the observations follow a Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) distribution for which the location, scale or shape parameters define the space–time structure. The temporal component is defined through a Dynamic Linear Model (DLM) or state space representation that allows to estimate the trend or seasonality of the data in time. The spatial element is imposed through the evolution matrix of the DLM where we adopt a process convolution form. We show how to produce temporal and spatial estimates of our model via customized Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) simulation. We illustrate our methodology with extreme values of ozone levels produced daily in the metropolitan area of Mexico City and with rainfall extremes measured at the Caribbean coast of Venezuela.  相似文献
