The physical chemical equations relating solubility to octanol water partition coefficient are presented and used to develop a new correlation between these quantities which includes a melting point (fugacity ratio) correction. The correlation is satisfactory for 45 organic compounds but it is not applicable to organic acids. When applied to very high molecular weight (> 290) compounds the correlation is less satisfactory; either it is believed because the data are inaccurate or because the tendency for these compounds to partition into organic phases is less than expected. This may have profound environmental implications.  相似文献

The general solubility equation (GSE) proposed by Jain and Yalkowsky was used to estimate aqueous solubility of 1026 non-electrolytes. The only parameters used in the GSE are melting points (MP) and octanol-water partition coefficients (Kow). No fitted parameters and no training set are employed in the GSE. The experimental solubility values were taken from the AQUASOL dATAbASE. The average absolute error and the root-mean-square error in the solubility estimates are 0.38 and 0.53 log units, respectively. Thus, with an observed MP and calculated Kow; the users can obtain a reasonable estimation of the aqueous solubility of any organic non-electrolyte.  相似文献

Samples with the best adsorption properties are selected as a result of investigations conducted on synthesis of manganese-dioxide-based materials and study of their physicochemical properties. Materials were selected on the basis of their low cost and the simplicity of their production technology. In the laboratory the synthesis and analyses of materials was carried out for selected samples. The sorption of a series of elements is studied for a more detailed investigation of materials obtained. The results obtained will promote the synthesis of materials with improved adsorption properties with the aim of their application for purification of water from strontium. It is shown that the most promising way for amendment of manganese oxide is modification of this material using acid-resistant oxides. These oxides are also less expensive than existing sorbents for strontium.  相似文献

The solubility data for a series of non‐hydrogen bonding, monosubstituted benzenes in binary mixtures of water and non‐hydrogen bonding cosolvents is presented. Good correlation between log solubility and fraction cosolvent is obtained, therefore the estimation of solubility in mixed solvents by a log‐linear relationship can be attained. Slight positive or negative deviations from predicted solubility values are seen at high volume fractions of cosolvents. These deviations are attributed to the cosolvent‐water interactions.  相似文献
