Plant cover synanthropization in the pechora-Ilych biosphere reserve along an altitudinal gradient

Trends in plant cover synanthropization along a plain-foothills-mountains gradient have been revealed in the reserve. Characteristics of plant communities in anthropogenically disturbed habitats, centers of concentration of anthropophytes and apophytes, and pathways of their migration are described.     

Phytodiversity of relict steppe enclaves in the Urals: Experience in comparative assessment

Unique mountain-steppe ecosystems in the Southern Urals have retained a high level of species and cenotic diversity, despite fragmentation and isolation. Specific features of these ecosystems are described.

Tendencies in plant cover synanthropization depending on the pattern and intensity of anthropogenic impacts on natural complexes have been revealed in specially protected areas of different classes (a nature reserve and a nature park).     

Monitoring of Orchid Populations in a Unique Area of Their Concentration in the Middle Urals

The abundance, density, structure, and dynamics of the populations of 11 rare orchid species are characterized on the basis of observations carried out in the eastern foothills of the Middle Urals from 1991 to 2002. The pattern of changes in the age structure of populations belonging to different ecobiomorphs is revealed. The concept of vegetatively oriented and generatively oriented age spectra of populations is proposed.

The methodological principles of making a phytoecological map reflecting the degree of anthropogenic transformation of the plant cover are described.

Methodological approaches to the construction of phytoecological maps are described regarding specially protected nature areas and their specific features. Such maps offer new possibilities for the assessment and analysis of current and predicted states of vegetation.
