Fish protein hydrolysates are digested form of protein with various bioactive properties where, the cleavages of molecular bonds of proteins can be broken by the enzymatic and chemical process. In this study, antioxidant properties of spray dried protein hydrolysate prepared from Pangasius viscera by using enzymatic (papain and pepsin), and chemical methods (hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide) were evaluated. Among the different treatments, pepsin-derived visceral protein hydrolysate showed the maximum antioxidant activity when used at higher concentrations. Essential amino acids (EAA) and hydrophobic amino acids are higher in papain-derived visceral protein hydrolysate. In pepsin-derived visceral protein hydrolysate, major proportion was contributed by glycine (Gly), glutamine (Glu), proline (Pro), and asparagine (Asp). Higher amount of aromatic amino acids are found in alkali-derived FVPH. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of pepsin fish visceral protein hydrolysate showed better globular structure than the other treatments. It can be concluded that among the different treatments, the visceral protein hydrolysate prepared with pepsin had better overall quality regarding antioxidant properties and papain in nutritional point of view.
Glyphosate mobility from terrestrial to aquatic environments has raised concerns about it. Utilizing soil’s inherent properties along with sorption properties of aged biochar, we hypothesized that selective application of biochar would be more effective in economic terms for glyphosate sorption on contrasting soils. To test this hypothesis, batch experiments and liquid scintillation counting for 14Okada, E.; Costa, J. L.; Bedmar, F. Adsorption and mobility of glyphosate in different soils under no-till and conventional tillage. Geoderma2016, 263, 78–85.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®], [Google Scholar]C labeled glyphosate were used. The sorption behavior of glyphosate was examined in four contrasting Australian soil types (Oxisol, Vertisol, Entisol, and Inceptisol) amended with aged biochar to determine glyphosate concentrations by measuring 14Okada, E.; Costa, J. Geoderma2016, 263, 78–85.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®], [Google Scholar]C activity using liquid scintillation counting. Freundlich parameters were calculated for soil-soil/biochar combinations. The pattern of glyphosate sorption was Oxisol?>?Vertisol?>?Entisol?>?Inceptisol. Oxisol adsorbed approximately five times more glyphosate compared with Inceptisol. Oxisol soil system adsorbed maximum amount of glyphosate principally due to the presence of iron-aluminum oxides exhibiting variable charges which got increased due to the presence of aged biochar. Considering all the soil/soil-biochar systems, Inceptisol soil system showed the least adsorption of glyphosate. A significant contribution of char was observed only in the Entisol soil system and the finding is valuable as char can be applied in Entisol soil systems to control glyphosate mobility. 相似文献

The main aim of the present investigations was to compare the pesticide load in integrated pest management (IPM) with non-IPM crops of rice fields. The harvest samples of Basmati rice grain, soil, and irrigation water, from IPM and non-IPM field trials, at villages in northern India, were analyzed using multi-pesticide residue method. The field experiments were conducted for three consecutive years (2008–2011) for the successful validation of the modules, synthesized for Basmati rice, at these locations. Residues of tricyclazole, propiconazole, hexconazole, lambda cyhalothrin, pretilachlor chlorpyrifos, DDVP, carbendazim, and imidacloprid were analyzed from two locations, Dudhli village of Dehradun, Uttrakhand and Saboli and Aterna village of Sonepat, Haryana. The pesticide residues were observed below detectable limit (BDL) (<0.001–0.05 μg/g) in all 24 samples of rice grains and soil under IPM and non-IPM trials. Residues were below detection level (<0.001–0.05 μg/L) in irrigation water samples (2008–09). Residues of tricyclazole and carbendazim, analyzed from same locations, revealed pesticide residues as BDL (<0.001–0.05 μg/g) in all 40 samples of Basmati rice grains and soil. It was also observed as BDL (<0.001–0.05 μg/L) for 12 water samples (2009–2010). The residues of tricyclazole, propioconazole, chlorpyrifos, hexaconazole, pretilachlor, and λ-cyhalothrin were also found as BDL (<0.001–0.05 μg/g) in 40 samples of Basmati rice grains and soil and 12 water samples (<0.001–0.05 μg/L) (2010–2011). 相似文献

Global scarcity of freshwater has been gearing towards an unsustainable river basin management and corresponding services to the humans. It needs a holistic approach, which exclusively focuses on effective river water quality monitoring and quantification and identification of pollutant sources, in order to address the issue of sustainability. These days, rivers are heavily contaminated due to the presence of organic and metallic pollutants released from several anthropogenic sources, such as industrial effluents, domestic sewage, and agricultural runoff. It is astonishing to note that even in many developing countries, most of these contaminants are carried through open drains, which enter river premises without proper treatment. Such practice not only devastates riverine ecosystem but also gives rise to deadly diseases, such as minimata and cancer in humans. Considering these issues, the present study develops a novel approach towards simultaneous identification of major sources of pollution in the rivers, along with critical pollutants and locations using an advanced hierarchical cluster and multivariate statistical analysis. A systematic approach has been developed by agglomerating both R-mode and Q-mode analysis, which develops monoplots, two-dimensional biplots, rotated component matrices, and dendrograms (using “SPSS” and “Analyse It” software) to reveal relationships among various quality parameters to identify the pollutant sources along with clustering of critical sampling sites and pollutants. A case study of the Ganges River Basin of India has been considered to demonstrate the efficacy and usefulness of the model by analyzing 85 open drains. Both organic and metallic pollutants are analyzed simultaneously as well as separately to get a holistic understanding of all the relationships and to broaden the perspective of water characterization. Results provide a comprehensive guidance to the policy makers and water managers to optimize corrective efforts, minimize further damage, and improve the water quality condition to ensure sustainable development of the river basin. 相似文献
