Aspects of the trophic attributes of the mudskipper,Periophthalmus barbarus occurring in the mangrove swamps of ImoRiver estuary, Nigeria, were investigated during a 12-month period(April, 1992-March, 1993). Feeding intensity increased with size;it was higher in the dry season (November-April) than in the wetseason (May-October); monthly changes in the indices of feedingintensity were significantly correlated. Major food objectscomprised detritus and benthic algae; crustaceans, insects,macrophyte matter and sand grains were minor food objects whilefish, molluscs, Chilopoda, nematodes and fungi were unconsciouslydevoured objects. Diet varied seasonally; algae and sesarmid crabswere generally more in the dry season than during the rains whereasFPOM and fish increased in the wet over dry season. The mudskipperdisplay a high degree of euryphagy and can be considered as ageneralist and an omnivore. The lower trophic status of P. barbarusqualifies it as a good aquaculture candidate. Food richness washigher in big-sized class (BSC) than small-sized class (SSC).Size-based and seasonal variations were not apparent in foodrichness. Diet breadth was higher in the BSC than the SSC; therewas dry season increase in diet breadth.  相似文献

菜地中过量的施用氮肥使土壤剖面中累积了大量的硝酸盐,会增加地下水的硝酸盐污染的风险.选择了深根系的玉米和浅根系的空心菜间作来验证深根系作物和浅根系作物问作将降低土壤剖面硝酸盐累积的假说.结果表明,间作有降低蔬菜地上部硝酸盐浓度和土壤剖面硝酸盐残留量的趋势;与单作种植相比,间作玉米的产量有显著增加,间作空心菜的产量没有显著降低;与单作玉米和空心菜相比,问作五米的根系表层分布较多,间作空心菜的根长密度有所降低.这为降低土壤剖面及蔬菜中的硝酸盐累积提供了新的途径。  相似文献

沼泽湿地CO2、CH4、N2O排放对氮输入的响应   总被引:16,自引:2,他引:16  
利用静态暗箱-气象色谱法,选取小叶章沼泽化草甸进行野外原位试验,研究氮输入对沼泽湿地CO2、CH4和N2O等3种温室气体排放的影响,结果表明:氮输入对沼泽湿地CO2和CH4排放有明显影响,其季节排放总量分别是对照处理的1.3和2.5倍,但对CO2和CH4的季节变化模式无明显影响;氮输入对N2O的排放强度和季节变化模式均有显著影响,CO2排放通量与5cm深土壤温度存在显著的正相关关系,与地表温度和1.5m气温存在指数关系,而CH4和N2O排放与温度之间没有显著的相关性.在20、100和500年时间尺度上氮输入处理的CH4和N2O全球增温潜势(GWP)分别比对照处理增加了150%、150%和80%,表明氮输入在长、短时间尺度上都是增强CH4和N2O的温室效应的。  相似文献

Farm ponds have high conservation value because they contribute significantly to regional biodiversity and ecosystem services. In Japan pond draining is a traditional management method that is widely believed to improve water quality and eradicate invasive fish. In addition, fishing by means of pond draining has significant cultural value for local people, serving as a social event. However, there is a widespread belief that pond draining reduces freshwater biodiversity through the extirpation of aquatic animals, but scientific evaluation of the effectiveness of pond draining is lacking. We conducted a large‐scale field study to evaluate the effects of pond draining on invasive animal control, water quality, and aquatic biodiversity relative to different pond‐management practices, pond physicochemistry, and surrounding land use. The results of boosted regression‐tree models and analyses of similarity showed that pond draining had little effect on invasive fish control, water quality, or aquatic biodiversity. Draining even facilitated the colonization of farm ponds by invasive red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii), which in turn may have detrimental effects on the biodiversity and water quality of farm ponds. Our results highlight the need for reconsidering current pond management and developing management plans with respect to multifunctionality of such ponds. 以三江平原沼泽湿地生态试验站为研究基地 ,选择典型采样点 ,对排水沟土壤、沼泽土壤、沼泽化草甸土壤 (共有 6个采样点 ,2 8个样品 )进行测试 ,分析土样中主要离子 (HCO3- 、Cl- 、NO3- 、SO4 2 - 、Ca2 +、Mg2 +、K+、Na+)含量、重金属 (铁、锰、锌、铜 )含量、营养元素含量、有机质含量以及土壤pH值 ,研究沼泽排水对沼泽土壤中的化学元素含量的影响。研究结果表明 ,排水使沼泽土壤丧失大量的化学元素  相似文献

运用静态暗箱-气相色谱法观测了三江平原毛苔草泥炭沼泽湿地植物生长季N2O排放通量,并分析了其关键影响因子.结果表明:生长季N2O排放通量季节变化动态明显,最大值出现在7月上旬;平均排放通量为76.77μg/(m2·h),高于潜育沼泽湿地[20~60μg/(m2·h), 2002~2005].N2O排放通量与土壤温度存在极显著指数关系(P<0.01),且随土壤深度(土壤10cm以下)的增加相关关系逐渐减弱;与水位呈极显著负相关关系(P<0.01);另外,植被是影响N2O排放的主要生物因子,有植被参与的N2O排放是无植被的1.7倍.总之,水位和土壤温度是控制泥炭沼泽N2O排放呈明显季节变化的主要因素,而土壤水文物理特性的差异是引起泥炭沼泽N2O排放高于潜育沼泽的主要原因.经初步估算,三江平原泥炭沼泽每年植物生长季N2O排放总量约为72.9Mg,表明泥炭沼泽湿地在生长季是重要的N2O潜在排放源.  相似文献

The data are presented that concern the accumulation and distribution of artificial radionuclides (90Sr and137Cs) in the aboveground organs of birch growing in the vicinity of the Beloyarskaya Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in the permanently inundated part of the Ol'khovka swamp, on its banks periodically flooded with water, and in watershed areas not influenced by the swamp (control). Concentrations of both radionuclides in birch trees from the swamp and its banks were several times as high as in trees from the watershed. The distribution of90Sr in birch trunk proved to be acropetal. Trees growing on the inundated part of the swamp and on dry land significantly differed in the distribution of137Cs. The factors controlling the distribution and accumulation of both radionuclides in birch trees growing in these areas are discussed.  相似文献

Abstract: Invasions of non‐native species are one of the major causes of losses of native species. In some cases, however, non‐natives may also have positive effects on native species. We investigated the potential facilitative effects of the North American red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) on the community of predators in southwestern Spain. To do so, we examined the diets of predators in the area and their population trends since introduction of the crayfish. Most predator species consumed red swamp crayfish, which sometimes occurred in over 50% of their diet samples. Moreover, the abundance of species preying on crayfish increased significantly in the area as opposed to the abundance of herbivores and to predator populations in other areas of Europe, where those predators are even considered threatened. Thus, we report the first case in which one non‐native species is both beneficial because it provides prey for threatened species and detrimental because it can drive species at lower trophic levels to extinction. Increases in predator numbers that are associated with non‐native species of prey, especially when some of these predators are also invasive non‐natives, may increase levels of predation on other species and produce cascading effects that threaten native biota at longer temporal and larger spatial scales. Future management plans should include the complexity of interactions between invasive non‐natives and the entire native community, the feasibility of successful removal of non‐native species, and the potential social and economic interests in the area.  相似文献

The epipellic algae of Qua Iboe Estuary was studied in late summer (between January and February) of 1999. Physicochemical analysis of the tidal mud flats of the Estuary revealed a mixohaline habitat characterized by its high acidity (pH 4.72±0.02) and rich nutritive salts content. The results of the phytoplankton studies revealed variation in the density of the microalgae within the microalgal Orders. The epipellic algae community was predominated by pinnate diatoms. The mean densities of the phytoplanktons ranged from 102.75 organism/ha, 34.25 organism/ha, 21.25 organism/ha to 1.00 organism/ha of Pennales, Centrales, Zygnematales and Blue-Green algae, respectively. Their densities, however, decreased with increase in sampling distance from the low tide level. At the species level, Actinoptychus undulatus and Tabellaria sp. predominate the microalgae community. The occurrence of the freshwater diatom, A. undulatus, in an otherwise harsh salty epipellic habitat confirms the adaptive potential of some freshwater phytoplankton to marine ecosystem. Other phytoplankter present in the epipellic habitat of the estuary were Amphora ovalis, Campylodis cibrosus, Cymbella lanceolata, Navicular radiosa, N. rhynocephala, Pleurosignma sp., Pinnularia viridis, Stephanodiscus sp., Closterium sp., Oscillatoria nigroviridis and Nodularia spumigena.  相似文献

Modeling hydrology and eutrophication in a Louisiana swamp forest ecosystem   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The EPA Storm Water Management Model (1971) was used to model hydrodynamics, nutrient dynamics, and eutrophication in a Louisiana swamp forest ecosystem. The present system of canals and spoil banks in the swamp causes impoundment of swamp areas and does not optimize discharge from the swamp forest. Simulations showed that hydraulics could be managed to increase discharge rates to the lower estuary (22 percent), to increase productivity of the swamp forest (100 percent), and to decrease lake eutrophication (43 percent). This could be done by removing spoil banks in the swamp and allowing upland runoff to pass through the backswamp.  相似文献
