Performance of High-temperature Slagging Rotary Kiln Incinerator

A high-temperature, slagging rotary kiln hazardous waste incineration system with modern combustion, heat recovery and air pollution control equipment was put in operation at PPG Coating and Resin Plant in Circleville, Ohio in the latter part of 1987. New design solutions contributed to the overall high performance of the system. The system employs European and American feed, combustion, heat recovery and stack emission control technologies. Performance of the system is analyzed in detail covering topics such as feed methods, equipment selection, destruction and removal efficiencies, fate of the metals, and financial information.
